Leviticus 3

1 [“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.

“‘Kama sadaka ya mtu ni sadaka ya amani, naye akatoa ngʼombe kutoka kundi, akiwa dume au jike, atamleta mnyama asiye na dosari mbele za Bwana.

2 You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

Ataweka mkono wake juu ya kichwa cha sadaka yake na kumchinja penye ingilio la Hema la Kukutania. Ndipo makuhani wana wa Aroni watanyunyiza damu yake pande zote za madhabahu.

3 From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—

Kutoka kwenye hiyo sadaka ya amani ataleta sadaka iliyotolewa kwa Bwana kwa moto: mafuta yote ya mnyama yafunikayo sehemu za ndani, ama yanayoungana na hizo sehemu za ndani,

4 the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

figo zote pamoja na mafuta yote yanayozizunguka karibu na kiuno na yale yanayofunika ini, ambayo atayaondoa pamoja na figo.

5 Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.

Kisha wana wa Aroni wataiteketeza juu ya madhabahu, juu ya ile sadaka ya kuteketezwa iliyoko juu ya kuni zinazowaka, kama sadaka ya kuteketezwa kwa moto, harufu nzuri ya kumpendeza Bwana.

6 If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.

“‘Kama akitoa kondoo au mbuzi kutoka kundi kama sadaka ya amani kwa Bwana, atamtoa dume au jike asiye na dosari.

7 If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].

Kama akimtoa mwana-kondoo, atamleta mbele za Bwana.

8 Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.

Ataweka mkono wake juu ya kichwa cha sadaka yake, naye atamchinja mbele ya Hema la Kukutania. Kisha wana wa Aroni watanyunyiza damu yake kwenye madhabahu pande zote.

9 You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—

Kutoka kwenye hiyo sadaka ya amani ataleta dhabihu iliyotolewa kwa Bwana kwa moto: mafuta yake, mafuta yote ya mkia uliokatwa karibu na uti wa mgongo, mafuta yote yanayofunika sehemu za ndani au yale yanayounganika nazo,

10 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

figo mbili pamoja na mafuta yanayozizunguka yaliyo karibu na kiuno na yale yanayofunika ini, ambayo atayatoa pamoja na figo.

11 One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].

Kuhani ataviteketeza juu ya madhabahu kama chakula, sadaka iliyotolewa kwa Bwana kwa moto.

12 ‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.

“‘Kama sadaka yake ni mbuzi, ataileta mbele za Bwana.

13 You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

Ataweka mkono wake juu ya kichwa chake na kumchinja mbele ya Hema la Kukutania. Kisha wana wa Aroni watanyunyiza damu yake kwenye madhabahu pande zote.

14 From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,

Kutokana na ile sadaka anayotoa, atatoa sadaka hii kwa Bwana kwa moto: mafuta yote yanayofunika sehemu za ndani na yale yanayoungana nazo,

15 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

figo zote mbili pamoja na mafuta yaliyo juu yake karibu na kiuno na yanayofunika ini, ambayo atayaondoa pamoja na figo.

16 The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.

Kuhani ataviteketeza juu ya madhabahu kama chakula, sadaka iliyotolewa kwa moto, harufu nzuri. Mafuta yote ya mnyama ni ya Bwana.

17 ‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”

“‘Hii ni kanuni ya kudumu kwa vizazi vijavyo, popote muishipo: Msile mafuta yoyote ya mnyama wala damu.’”
