Leviticus 3

1 [“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.

»Soll aber seine Opfergabe ein Heilsopfer sein, so soll er, wenn er sie von den Rindern darbringen will, mag es ein männliches oder ein weibliches Tier sein, ein fehlerloses Tier vor den HERRN bringen.

2 You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

Dann lege er seine Hand fest auf den Kopf seines Opfertieres, und man schlachte es am Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes; die Söhne Aarons aber, die Priester, sollen das Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.

3 From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—

Hierauf soll er von dem Heilsopfer dem HERRN ein Feueropfer darbringen, nämlich das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, und alles Fett, das an den Eingeweiden sitzt,

4 the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

ferner die beiden Nieren samt dem Fett, das an ihnen, an den Lendenmuskeln sitzt, und den Lappen an der Leber – bei den Nieren soll er es ablösen.

5 Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.

Wenn die Söhne Aarons es dann auf dem Altar über dem Brandopfer, das auf dem Holz über dem Feuer liegt, in Rauch aufgehen lassen, so ist es ein Feueropfer zu lieblichem Geruch für den HERRN.«

6 If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.

»Wenn aber seine Opfergabe, die er dem HERRN als Heilsopfer darbringen will, dem Kleinvieh entnommen ist, so muß es ein fehlerloses männliches oder weibliches Tier sein, das er opfert.

7 If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].

Bringt er ein Schaf als seine Opfergabe dar, so bringe er es vor den HERRN,

8 Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.

lege seine Hand fest auf den Kopf seines Opfertieres, und man schlachte es dann vor dem Offenbarungszelt; die Söhne Aarons aber sollen sein Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.

9 You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—

Hierauf soll er dem HERRN von dem Heilsopfer ein Feueropfer darbringen, nämlich das Fett des Tieres: den ganzen Fettschwanz, den man dicht am Steißbein ablösen muß, ferner das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, und alles Fett, das an den Eingeweiden sitzt,

10 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

ferner die beiden Nieren samt dem Fett, das an ihnen, an den Lendenmuskeln sitzt, und den Lappen an der Leber – bei den Nieren soll man es ablösen.

11 One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].

Wenn der Priester es dann auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen läßt, so ist es eine Feueropferspeise für den HERRN.

12 ‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.

Wenn aber seine Opfergabe in einer Ziege besteht, so soll er sie vor den HERRN bringen,

13 You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

dann seine Hand fest auf ihren Kopf legen, und man schlachte sie dann vor dem Offenbarungszelt; die Söhne Aarons aber sollen ihr Blut ringsum an den Altar sprengen.

14 From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,

Hierauf soll er dem HERRN von ihr seine Gabe als Feueropfer darbringen, nämlich das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, und alles Fett, das an den Eingeweiden sitzt,

15 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

ferner die beiden Nieren samt dem Fett, das an ihnen, an den Lendenmuskeln sitzt, und den Lappen an der Leber – bei den Nieren soll man es ablösen.

16 The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.

Wenn der Priester es dann auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen läßt, so ist es eine Feueropferspeise zu lieblichem Geruch für den HERRN. Alles Fett gehört dem HERRN.

17 ‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”

Das ist eine ewiggültige Satzung für eure Geschlechter, wo ihr auch wohnen mögt: keinerlei Fett und keinerlei Blut dürft ihr genießen!«
