Leviticus 3

1 [“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.

Son offrande est-elle un sacrifice rémunératoire: s’il la tire du gros bétail, que ce soit un mâle ou une femelle, il doit la présenter sans défaut devant le Seigneur.

2 You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

Il appuiera sa main sur la tête de sa victime, qu’on immolera à l’entrée de la Tente d’assignation; puis les fils d’Aaron, les pontifes, aspergeront de son sang le tour de l’autel.

3 From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—

On présentera, de cette victime rémunératoire, comme combustion au Seigneur, la graisse qui recouvre les intestins, toute la graisse qui y adhère;

4 the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

les deux rognons avec la graisse qui y adhère du côté des flancs, puis la membrane qui tient au foie et qu’on ôtera avec les rognons.

5 Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.

Et les fils d’Aaron feront fumer ces graisses sur l’autel, près de l’holocauste déjà placé sur le bois du brasier: combustion d’une odeur agréable au Seigneur.

6 If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.

Si c’est du menu bétail qu’il veut offrir un sacrifice rémunératoire au Seigneur, il l’offrira mâle ou femelle, sans défaut.

7 If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].

Son offrande consiste-t-elle en une brebis, il la présentera devant le Seigneur,

8 Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.

appuiera sa main sur la tête de sa victime et l’immolera devant la Tente d’assignation; puis les fils d’Aaron aspergeront de son sang le tour de l’autel.

9 You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—

On présentera, de cette victime rémunératoire, comme combustion au Seigneur, le morceau de choix: la queue, qu’on enlèvera tout entière à l’a hauteur de la vertèbre; puis la graisse qui recouvre les intestins, toute la graisse qui y adhère,

10 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

les deux rognons avec la graisse qui y adhère du côté des flancs, puis la membrane du foie, qu’on ôtera avec les rognons.

11 One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].

Et le pontife les fera fumer sur l’autel, comme aliment de combustion en l’honneur du Seigneur.

12 ‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.

Que si son offrande est une chèvre, il la présentera devant le Seigneur,

13 You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

appuiera sa main sur la tête de l’animal et l’immolera devant la Tente d’assignation; puis les fils d’Aaron aspergeront de son sang le tour de l’autel.

14 From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,

Il en prélèvera la partie à offrir, comme combustion en l’honneur du Seigneur: la graisse qui recouvre les intestins, toute la graisse qui y adhère;

15 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

les deux rognons avec leur graisse du côté des flancs, et la membrane du foie, qu’il retirera avec les rognons.

16 The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.

Le pontife les fera fumer sur l’autel: c’est un aliment de combustion dont le parfum sera agréé, toute graisse étant pour le Seigneur.

17 ‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”

Loi perpétuelle pour vos générations, dans toutes vos demeures: toute graisse et tout sang, vous vous abstiendrez d’en manger."
