1 [“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.
That if his offryng is a sacrifice of pesible thingis, and he wole offre of oxun, he schal offre bifore the Lord a male, ether a female, without wem.
2 You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
And he schal sette hond on the heed of his sacrifice, that schal be offrid in the entryng of the tabernacle; and the sones of Aaron preest schulen schede the blood bi the cumpas of the auter.
3 From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—
And thei schulen offre of the sacrifice of pesible thingis in to offryng to the Lord, the fatnesse that hilith the entrailis, and what euer thing of fatnesse is with ynne;
4 the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
thei schulen offre twey kydeneris, with the fatnesse bi which the guttis clepid ylyon ben hilid, and the calle of the lyuer with the litle reynes.
5 Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.
And thei schulen brenne tho on the auter, in to brent sacrifice, whanne fier is put vndur the trees, in to offryng of swettest odour to the Lord.
6 If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.
Sotheli if his offryng is of scheep, and a sacrifice of pesible thingis, whether he offrith a male ether a female, tho schulen be without wem.
7 If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].
If he offrith a lombe bifor the Lord,
8 Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.
he schal sette his hond on the heed of his sacrifice, that schal be offrid in the porche of the tabernacle of witnessyng; and the sones of Aaron schulen schede the blood therof bi `the cumpas of the auter.
9 You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—
And thei schulen offre of the sacrifice of pesible thingis a sacrifice to the Lord, the innere fatnesse,
10 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
and al the tail with the reynes, and the fatnesse that hilith the wombe, and alle the entrailis, and euer eithir litil reyne, with the fatnesse which is bisidis the `guttis clepid ylion, and the calle of the mawe, with the litle reynes.
11 One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].
And the preest schal brenne tho on the auter, in to the fedyng of fier, and of the offryng to the Lord.
12 ‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.
If his offryng is a geet, and he offrith it to the Lord,
13 You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
he schal sette his hond on the heed therof, and he schal offre it in to the entryng of the tabernacle of witnessyng; and the sones of Aaron schulen schede the blood therof bi the cumpas of the auter.
14 From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,
And thei schulen take therof, in to `the fedyng of the Lordis fier, the fatnesse that hilith the wombe, and that hilith alle the entrailis,
15 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
and twei litle reynes with the calle which is on tho bisidis ilion, and the fatnesse of the mawe, with the entrails that cleuen to the litle reynes.
16 The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.
And the preest schal brenne tho on the auter, in to the fedyng of fier, and of swettest odour; al the fatnesse schal be the Lordis,
17 ‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”
by euerlastynge riyt in generaciouns, and in alle youre dwellyng placis, nether in ony maner ye schulen ete blood, nethir fatnesse.
