Leviticus 22
1 Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
2 “Tell Aaron and his sons to greatly respect the sacred offerings that the Israeli people bring to me; by doing that you will respect me [MTY], Yahweh.
Dis à Aaron et à ses fils qu'ils soient très attentifs pour les choses saintes; qu'ils ne profanent mon saint nom en aucune des choses qu'ils me consacreront: je suis le Seigneur.
3 “Tell them that for all future time, if any of their descendants comes near to the sacred offerings that the Israeli people dedicate to me while he is unfit to work for me, that person will no longer be allowed to work for me. I, Yahweh, [am commanding this].
Dis-leur: Dans la suite de vos générations, tout homme de votre famille qui s'approchera des choses saintes; de celles que les fils d'Israël consacreront au Seigneur, et qui aura en lui quelque impureté, sera exterminé par moi: je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
4 “If any descendant of Aaron has a contagious skin disease or a discharge from his sexual organs, he is not allowed to eat any of the sacred offerings until he is cured. He will also be unfit for his work if he touches anything which has become unacceptable to me because it has touched a corpse, or if he touches anyone who as an emission of semen,
L'homme, de la famille du prêtre Aaron, atteint de la lèpre ou de la gonorrhée, ne mangera point des choses saintes avant d'avoir été purifié non plus que celui qui aura touché un animal impur, ou qui aura eu une émission de semence,
5 or if he touches anything that crawls on the ground, or if he touches any person who causes him to be unfit for his work.
Ou qui aura touché un reptile impur qui l'ait souillé, ou un autre homme qui l'aura souillé par une impureté quelconque.
6 Any priest who touches such things must bathe, and he must not touch anyone else until that evening.
L'homme, ainsi souillé par attouchement, sera impur jusqu'au soir; il ne mangera des choses saintes qu'après s'être lavé le corps avec de l'eau.
7 After the sun sets, he will be permitted to eat some of the sacred offerings that are for him to eat.
Après le coucher du soleil, il sera pur et mangera des choses saintes, puisque c'est sa nourriture.
8 He must not eat anything that is found dead or that has been killed by wild animals, because if he did that, he would be unfit to work for me. I, Yahweh [am commanding those things].
Il ne mangera ni corps mort ni proie enlevée par une bête fauve, il en serait souillé: je suis le Seigneur.
9 “The priests must obey my commandments in order that they will not become guilty and die as a result of (despising/not obeying) them.
Ils observeront mes préceptes, afin de ne point porter de péché en les violant, et de ne pas mourir pour les avoir profanés: je suis le Seigneur qui les sanctifie.
10 “Anyone who is not a member of a priest’s family is not permitted to eat any of a sacred offering, and no one who is visiting the priest or whom the priest has hired is permitted to eat it.
Nul, d'une autre famille, ne mangera des choses saintes; ni l'hôte du prêtre, ni son journalier, ne mangeront des choses saintes.
11 But if a priest buys a slave, or if a slave is born in his house, that slave is permitted to eat such food.
Mais, si le prêtre, à prix d'argent, a acquis un esclave, celui-ci mangera de ses aliments; les serviteurs, nés en sa maison, pareillement, en pourront manger.
12 If a priest’s daughter marries a man who is not a priest, she no longer is permitted to eat the sacred food.
La fille du prêtre, si elle s'unit à un homme d'une autre famille, ne mangera pas des prémices du sanctuaire.
13 But if a priest’s daughter who has no children becomes a widow or becomes divorced, if she returns to her father’s house to live there like she did when she was young, she may eat the same food that her father eats. But no other person is permitted to eat any of it.
Si la fille du prêtre devient veuve, ou si elle est répudiée, pourvu qu'elle n'ait pas d'enfants, elle retournera en sa demeure paternelle, sur le même pied que durant sa jeunesse, et elle mangera des aliments de son père; mais nul étranger à la famille n'en pourra manger.
14 “If anyone who is not permitted to eat a sacred offering eats it without realizing that it is sacred, he must pay the priest for the offering, and pay him an extra one-fifth of its value.
Tout homme qui, par ignorance, aura mangé des choses saintes, fera une restitution équivalente, y ajoutera un cinquième en sus, et donnera le tout au prêtre, comme chose sainte.
15 When the priests bring offerings to me, the sacred offerings that the Israeli people bring to them, they must not treat those offerings as though they are not sacred
Et l'on ne profanera pas les choses saintes des fils d'Israël, qu'ils ont destinées au Seigneur.
16 by allowing those who are not priests to eat any of those offerings. If they did that, they would become guilty and must make a payment. I am Yahweh, the one who causes those offerings to be sacred.”
On se rendrait coupable d'un délit en mangeant de ces choses saintes; car je suis le Seigneur qui ai sanctifié les prêtres.
17 Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
18 “Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israeli people and tell them that I command this: ‘If any of you Israelis or foreigners who live in Israel brings to me an animal that will be completely burned [on the altar], either as a result of a solemn promise that you made to me or to be an offering that is given voluntarily,
Parle à Aaron et à ses fils, et à toute la synagogue des fils d'Israël, et dis-leur: Tout homme, des fils d'Israël ou des prosélytes, demeurant parmi eux en Israël, qui apportera des victimes après une confession, ou par une élection quelconque, pour être offertes en holocaustes à Dieu,
19 it must be an animal that has no defects, in order that it will be accepted by me.
Présentera des bêtes mâles et sans tache, acceptables par vous, prises parmi les bœufs, les brebis ou les chèvres.
20 Do not bring any animals that have defects, because I will not accept them as an offering from you.
Tout ce qui aura quelque tache ne sera joint présenté au Seigneur, puisqu'il ne serait point acceptable par vous-mêmes.
21 [Similarly], when someone brings from his cattle or sheep or goats an offering to maintain fellowship with me, either to fulfill a promise that he made to me or to be a voluntary offering, in order that I will accept it, it must have no defects [DOU] or blemishes.
Tout homme qui offrira au Seigneur une hostie pacifique, soit par vœu, soit par élection, soit à l'occasion de l'une de vos fêtes, prendra, parmi les bœufs ou les brebis, une victime sans tache, acceptable, n'ayant aucune difformité.
22 Do not offer to me animals that are blind or injured or maimed/crippled, or any animal that has warts or a festering sore [DOU].
Nulle bête, aveugle, ou ayant soit une fracture, soit la langue coupée, soit la peau couverte de boutons, la rogne, ou une dartre vive, ne sera présentée au Seigneur; vous n'en ferez point une hostie sur l'autel du Seigneur.
23 You may present to me to be a voluntary offering an ox or a sheep that is injured or stunted, but it will not be accepted to fulfill a promise made to me.
Tu immoleras pour toi-même le veau ou la brebis qui aura les oreilles ou la queue coupées; mais il ne sera pas reçu pour l'accomplissement de ton vœu.
24 You must not offer to me animals whose testicles are bruised or crushed or torn or cut. You must not injure the testicles of any animal in your land,
Tu ne présenteras pas au Seigneur de bête châtrée par compression, ou par amputation, ou par arrachement; vous n'en sacrifierez point en votre terre.
25 and you must not accept such animals that are sold/given to you by a foreigner. You must not offer them to me as a sacrifice for me. Such animals will not be accepted by me, because they are deformed or have defects.’”
Vous ne recevrez pas non plus, de la main de l'étranger, aucune de ces choses pour les offrir en don à votre Dieu, parce qu'il y a un vice et une tache en elles; vous ne les recevrez pas.
26 Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
27 “When a calf or lamb or goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. After that, it will be acceptable as an offering to me that will be burned.
Le veau, ou l'agneau, ou le chevreau nouveau-né, restera sept jours sous sa mère, et, à partir du huitième jour, il pourra être choisi comme victime et offrande au Seigneur.
28 Do not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its baby on the same day.
Vous ne sacrifierez pas le même jour la vache, la brebis et leurs rejetons.
29 “Then you sacrifice an animal to thank [me for what I have done], sacrifice it in a way that is acceptable to me.
Lorsque vous sacrifierez une victime d'action de grâces au Seigneur, qu'elle soit acceptable par vous.
30 The meat must be eaten on that day; do not leave any of it until the next morning. I, Yahweh, [am the one who am commanding this].
Elle sera mangée le jour même du sacrifice; vous ne laisserez point de sa chair pour le lendemain: je suis le Seigneur.
31 “Obey all my commands [DOU]. I, Yahweh, [am commanding them];
Ainsi, vous observerez mes commandements et vous les exécuterez.
32 do not dishonor me [MTY] [by disobeying them]. You Israeli people must acknowledge that I, Yahweh, am holy, and I am the one who causes you to be holy.
Et vous ne profanerez pas le nom du Saint, et je serai sanctifié au milieu des fils d'Israël: je suis le Seigneur qui vous sanctifie,
33 And I am the one who brought you out of Egypt in order to show that that I, Yahweh, am [and will always be] your God.”
Et qui vous ai tirés de la terre d'Egypte pour être votre Dieu: je suis le Seigneur.
