Leviticus 20
1 Yahweh also said this to Moses/me:
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
2 “Tell the Israeli people, ‘[This is what Yahweh says]: Any Israeli or any foreigner who is living in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to be an offering to the god Molech must be executed. The people of the town must kill him by throwing stones at him.
Et tu diras aux enfants d'Israël: Quiconque parmi les enfants d'Israël et les étrangers domiciliés en Israël donnera de ses enfants à Moloch, sera mis à mort; le peuple du pays le lapidera.
3 I will reject [IDM] such people and command that they no longer be allowed to associate with my people.
Et moi, je tournerai ma face contre cet homme-là, et je l'éliminerai du sein de son peuple pour avoir donné de ses enfants à Moloch, et ainsi souillé mon Sanctuaire et profané mon saint nom.
4 If the people of that man’s town ignore it when he kills one of his children to offer him as a sacrifice to Molech, and if they do not execute that person,
Et si le peuple du pays veut fermer les yeux sur le fait de cet homme qui a donné de ses enfants à Moloch, afin de ne point le faire mourir,
5 I myself will punish that person and his family, and I will command that he no longer be able to associate with my people. And I will do the same thing to any others who do the same thing that he did to worship Molech.
je tournerai ma face contre cet homme-là et contre sa race et je l'éliminerai du sein de leur peuple lui et tous ceux qui le suivent dans sa prostitution pour aller se prostituer à Moloch.
6 ‘will reject [IDM] those who go to those who (consult/talk with) the spirits of dead people and fortune-tellers to seek advice from them. I will command that they no longer be allowed to associate with my people.
Et quant à la personne qui s'adressera aux évocateurs et aux devins pour se prostituer à leur suite, je tournerai ma face contre cette personne-là et l'éliminerai du sein de son peuple.
7 ‘Set yourselves apart and be holy, because I, Yahweh your God, am holy, [and I want you to be like me].
Conservez-vous donc saints, et soyez saints, car je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
8 Obey carefully [DOU] all my laws. I am Yahweh, the one will cause you to be holy.
Et gardez mes statuts et vous y conformez. Je suis l'Éternel qui veux vous sanctifier.
9 ‘If anyone curses his father or his mother, he must be executed. He himself will be responsible for his own death [MTY].
Quiconque maudira son père ou sa mère sera mis à mort; il a maudit son père et sa mère; son sang retombe sur lui.
10 ‘If a man commits adultery with some other man’s wife, both of them, the man and the woman, must be executed.
Et si un homme commet adultère avec la femme d'un autre, s'il commet adultère avec la femme de son prochain, l'homme et la femme adultères seront mis à mort.
11 ‘If a man has sex with [EUP] one of his father’s wives, he has disgraced his father. So both that man and that woman must be executed, they will be responsible for their own deaths [MTY].
Et si quelqu'un a commerce avec la femme de son père, il a découvert la nudité de son père: ils seront l'un et l'autre mis à mort; leur sang retombe sur eux.
12 ‘If a man has sex with [EUP] his daughter-in-law, both of them must be executed. What they have done is very perverse; and they will be responsible for their own deaths [MTY].
Et si quelqu'un a commerce avec sa bru, ils seront l'un et l'autre mis à mort, ils ont commis un hideux attentat, leur sang retombe sur eux.
13 ‘If two men have sex together, they have done something detestable. They must both be executed, they will be responsible for their own deaths [MTY].
Et si quelqu'un a commerce avec un homme comme on a commerce avec une femme, ils ont l'un et l'autre fait une chose abominable: ils seront mis à mort; leur sang retombe sur eux.
14 ‘If a man marries both a woman and her mother, that is a wicked thing. All three of them must be burned to death, in order that such a wicked practice will not [continue to be done] among you.
Et si quelqu'un prend pour femmes la fille et la mère, c'est un crime: ils seront brûlés lui et elles, afin que ce crime n'existe pas parmi vous.
15 ‘If a man has sex with an animal, he must be executed, and you must also kill that animal.
Et si quelqu'un a ce commerce avec un animal, il sera mis à mort, et vous tuerez aussi l'animal.
16 ‘[Similarly], if a woman has sex with an animal, both the woman and that animal must be killed [DOU]; they are responsible for their own deaths [MTY].
Et si une femme se livre à un animal quelconque pour s'accoupler avec lui, tu feras périr la femme et l'animal; ils seront mis à mort; leur sang retombe sur eux.
17 ‘If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his mother or his father, and they have sex together, that is disgraceful. They must not be allowed to continue to associate with my people. And because he has disgraced his sister, he must be punished.
Et si quelqu'un prend pour femme sa sœur, fille de son père, ou fille de sa mère, et qu'il voie sa nudité, et qu'elle voie sa nudité, c'est une infamie, et ils seront éliminés sous les yeux des enfants de leur peuple; il a découvert la nudité de sa sœur, il est sous le poids de sa faute.
18 ‘If a man has sex with [EUP, DOU] a woman during her monthly menstrual period, they have both revealed why she was bleeding, so both of them must not be allowed to associate with my people any more.
Et si un homme a commerce avec une femme pendant son indisposition et découvre sa nudité et met à nu la source de son sang, et qu'elle-même montre la source de son sang, ils seront l'un et l'autre éliminés du sein de leur peuple.
19 ‘Do not have sex with the sister of either your father or your mother, because that would be disgracing someone who is a close relative. And you and the woman must both be punished.
Et tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ta mère ou de la sœur de ton père; car c'est découvrir celle qui est de son sang; ils sont sous le poids de leur faute.
20 ‘If a man has sex [EUP] with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. I will punish both of them by causing them to die without having any children.
Et si quelqu'un a commerce avec la femme de son oncle, il a découvert la nudité de son oncle; ils sont sous le poids de leur péché; ils mourront sans enfants.
21 ‘If a man marries his brother’s wife [while his brother is still living], that is disgraceful. He has dishonored his brother; and they both will die without having any children.
Et si quelqu'un prend la femme de son frère, c'est une immondicité, il a découvert la nudité de son frère ils seront sans enfants.
22 ‘Obey all my laws/decrees [DOU] carefully, in order that you will not be forced to leave [MET] the land to which I am bringing you.
Gardez donc tous mes statuts et toutes mes lois, et pratiquez-les, et vous ne serez pas vomis par le pays où je vais vous introduire pour vous y établir.
23 Do not imitate/adopt the customs of the people of the land from which I will expel them as you advance. I hated them because they did all those things.
Et ne suivez pas les usages des peuples que j'expulserai devant vous; car ils ont fait toutes ces choses et je les ai pris en dégoût, et je vous ai dit:
24 But I said to you, “You will take their land from them; I will give it to you to be yours, a land that is very fertile [IDM]. I am Yahweh your God, who has set you apart from the people of other nations.”
C'est vous qui posséderez leur pays, et je vous le donne en propriété, pays découlant de lait et de miel. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui vous ai séparés des peuples.
25 ‘So you must distinguish between birds and animals that are unacceptable to me and those that are acceptable to me. Do not defile yourselves by [eating] birds or animals, or anything that scurries across the ground, that I have said are unacceptable for you.
Et distinguez entre l'animal pur et l'animal impur, et entre l'oiseau impur et l'oiseau pur, afin que vous ne rendiez pas vos personnes abominables par les animaux et les oiseaux et tout ce qui rampe sur la terre, et que je vous ai fait distinguer comme impur.
26 You must behave in ways that I consider to be holy, because I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have set you apart from the [ungodly people of other] nations to belong to me.
Soyez saints pour moi, car je suis Saint, moi l'Éternel, et je vous ai séparés des peuples pour que vous soyez à moi.
27 ‘You must execute any man or woman among you who (consults/talks with) the spirits of dead people or who is a fortune-teller. Kill them by [throwing] stones at them; but they will be responsible for their own deaths.’”
Et s'il se trouve parmi vous un homme ou une femme qui pratique les évocations ou la divination, ils seront mis à mort, on les lapidera, leur sang retombe sur eux.
