Joshua 1
1 After Moses, who served Yahweh [well], died, Yahweh said to Nun’s son Joshua, who had been Moses’ assistant,
௧யெகோவாவுடைய ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசே இறந்தபின்பு, யெகோவா மோசேயின் ஊழியக்காரனான நூனின் மகனாகிய யோசுவாவைப் பார்த்து:
2 “[You know that] my servant Moses is [now] dead. So now get ready to lead all these [Israeli] people across the Jordan [River]. Enter the land that I will soon give to you.
௨என் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசே இறந்துபோனான்; “இப்பொழுது நீயும் இந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் எழுந்து, இந்த யோர்தான் நதியைக் கடந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு நான் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்திற்குப் போங்கள்.
3 I will give to you all the land that you walk on, as I promised Moses.
௩நான் மோசேக்குச் சொன்னபடி உங்களுடைய கால்கள் மிதிக்கும் எல்லா இடத்தையும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்.
4 That land will extend from the desert [in the south], to the Lebanon [Mountains in the northwest], and to the big Euphrates River [in the northeast], and to the Mediterranean Sea on the west. [It will include] all the land where the descendants of Heth [live].
௪வனாந்திரமும் இந்த லீபனோனும் தொடங்கி ஐப்பிராத்து நதியான பெரிய நதிவரைக்கும் உள்ள ஏத்தியரின் தேசம் அனைத்தும், சூரியன் மறைகிற திசையான மத்திய தரைக்கடல் வரைக்கும் உங்களுடைய எல்லையாக இருக்கும்.
5 No group will be able to oppose [and defeat] you during your life. I will help you as I helped Moses. I will always be with [LIT] you; I will never forsake you.
௫நீ உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாட்களெல்லாம் ஒருவனும் உனக்கு முன்பாக எதிர்த்து நிற்பதில்லை; நான் மோசேயோடு இருந்ததுபோல, உன்னோடும் இருப்பேன்; நான் உன்னைவிட்டு விலகுவதுமில்லை, உன்னைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை.
6 “Be strong and courageous, because you are the one who will lead these Israeli people [and enable them] to possess the land that I solemnly promised to their ancestors that I would give them.
௬பெலன்கொண்டு திடமனதாக இரு; இந்த மக்களின் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் கொடுப்பேன் என்று வாக்குக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தை நீ இவர்களுக்குப் பங்கிடுவாய்.
7 Just be strong and very courageous. Be sure to obey all the laws that my servant Moses gave to you. In order that you may be successful wherever you go, do not stop obeying any of them [IDM].
௭என் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசே உனக்குக் கற்பித்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியெல்லாம் செய்ய கவனமாக இருப்பதற்கு மிகவும் பெலன்கொண்டு திடமனதாக இரு; நீ போகும் இடங்களெல்லாம் புத்திமானாக நடந்துகொள்ளும்படி, அதை விட்டு வலது இடதுபுறம் விலகாமல் இருப்பாயாக.
8 Make sure to habitually read [to the people some of] the laws [that God gave Moses]. Meditate on those laws [every] day and [every] night. And be sure to obey all those laws. If you do that, you will be successful in everything that you do [DOU].
௮இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகம் உன் வாயைவிட்டுப் பிரியாமல் இருப்பதாக; இதில் எழுதியிருக்கிறவைகளின்படியெல்லாம் நீ செய்ய கவனமாக இருக்கும்படி, இரவும் பகலும் அதைத் தியானித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பாயாக; அப்பொழுது நீ உன் வழியை வாய்க்கச்செய்வாய், அப்பொழுது புத்திமானாகவும் நடந்துகொள்ளுவாய்.
9 Do not forget [RHQ] that I have commanded you to be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, and do not be discouraged, because I, Yahweh, your God, will (be with/help) you wherever you go.”
௯நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடவில்லையா? பெலன்கொண்டு திடமனதாக இரு; திகையாதே, கலங்காதே, நீ போகும் இடங்களெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னோடு இருக்கிறார்” என்றார்.
10 Then Joshua commanded the leaders of the people of Israel,
௧0அப்பொழுது யோசுவா மக்களின் தலைவர்களை நோக்கி:
11 “Go throughout the camp and tell the people this: ‘Prepare all the food that you will take with you, because the day after tomorrow you will cross this Jordan [River], in order to possess the land that Yahweh, our God, is about to give you.’”
௧௧நீங்கள் முகாமிற்குள்ளே நடந்துபோய், மக்களைப் பார்த்து: “உங்களுக்கு உணவுப் பொருட்களை ஆயத்தம் செய்யுங்கள்; உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வதற்காகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தை நீங்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, இன்னும் மூன்றுநாட்களுக்குள்ளே இந்த யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவீர்கள்” என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.
12 But to the [clans that were] descendants of Reuben and Gad, and to the half clan [that were descendants] of Manasseh, Joshua said,
௧௨பின்பு யோசுவா; ரூபனியர்களையும் காத்தியர்களையும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக் கோத்திரத்தார்களையும் நோக்கி:
13 “Do not forget what Moses, the servant of Yahweh, commanded you: ‘Yahweh, your God, has given you this land in order that you can [live here] safely/peacefully.’
௧௩யெகோவாவுடைய ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசே உங்களுக்குக் கற்பித்த வார்த்தையை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; “உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களை இளைப்பாறச்செய்து, இந்த தேசத்தை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தாரே.
14 Your wives and your children and your livestock may stay [here] in this land on the east side of the Jordan [River], but all your soldiers must cross [the river], ahead of the people of the other tribes. They must take all their weapons with them. You must continue to help your fellow Israelis
௧௪உங்களுடைய மனைவிகளும் பிள்ளைகளும் மிருகஜீவன்களும், மோசே உங்களுக்கு யோர்தானுக்கு இந்தப்புறத்திலே கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் இருக்கட்டும்; உங்களிலுள்ள யுத்தவீரர்கள் எல்லோரும் உங்களுடைய சகோதரர்களுக்கு முன்பாக அணியணியாகக் கடந்துபோய்,
15 until they are able to live there safely/peacefully, as Yahweh has enabled you to do. You must help them until after they have conquered all the people in the land that Yahweh, your God, is giving them. After that, your soldiers may return to live in this land that Moses gave to you here on the east side of the Jordan [River].”
௧௫யெகோவா உங்களைப்போல உங்களுடைய சகோதரர்களையும் இளைப்பாறச்செய்து, அவர்களும் உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்வரை, அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்வீர்களாக; பின்பு நீங்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசே உங்களுக்கு யோர்தானுக்கு இந்தப்புறத்தில் சூரியன் உதிக்கும் திசைக்கு நேராகக் கொடுத்த உங்களுடைய சொந்தமான தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பி, அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பீர்களாக” என்றான்.
16 The people answered Joshua, “We will do everything that you have commanded us to do, and we will go wherever you tell us to go.
௧௬அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் யோசுவாவுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நீர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறதையெல்லாம் செய்வோம்; நீர் எங்களை அனுப்பும் இடங்களுக்கெல்லாம் போவோம்.
17 As we obeyed all that Moses told us to do, we will obey all that you tell us to do. We pray that Yahweh will (be with/help) you as he (was with/helped) Moses.
௧௭நாங்கள் மோசேக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்ததுபோல உமக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிவோம்; உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா மட்டும் மோசேயோடு இருந்ததுபோல, உம்மோடும் இருப்பாராக.
18 Anyone who (rejects what you say/opposes you) and does not obey what you command [DOU], we will execute. But we want you to be strong and courageous!”
௧௮நீர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடும் எல்லா காரியத்திலும் உம்முடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல், உம்முடைய கட்டளைக்கு எதிராக முரட்டாட்டம் செய்கிற எவனும் கொலை செய்யப்படக்கடவன்; பெலன்கொண்டு திடமனதாக மட்டும் இரும் என்றார்கள்.
