Joshua 21
1 While Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of all the Israeli tribes were at Shiloh, the leaders of the clans of the tribe of Levi went to them and said, “Yahweh commanded Moses that you should give us towns where we can have pasture/fields/grassland for our animals, [but you have not done these things yet].”
І підійшли голови домів батьків Левієвих до священика Елеазара й до Ісуса, сина Навинового, та до голів домів батьків племен Ізраїлевих синів,
та й говорили до них у Шіло́ в ханаанському кра́ї, кажучи: „Госпо́дь наказав був через Мойсея дати нам міста на сидіння, а їхні пасови́ська для нашої худоби“.
3 So the Israeli leaders obeyed this command from Yahweh. They agreed to give towns and pasturelands to the tribe of Levi.
І дали́ Ізраїлеві сини Левитам зо свого наді́лу на нака́з Господній ті міста та їхні пасови́ська.
4 [First] they allotted some cities to the Kohath clans, who belonged to the tribe of Levi. To those who were descendants of the first Supreme Priest Aaron, they allotted 13 towns in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
І вийшов жеребо́к для родів кегате́янина. І були синам священика Аарона з Левитів від племени Юдиного, і від племени Симеонового, і від племени Веніяминового тринадцять міст.
5 To the other members of the Kohath clan they allotted ten cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lives on the west side of the Jordan River].
А Кега́товим синам, що позосталися з ро́дів племени Єфремового й з племени Данового та з половини племени Манасіїного жеребко́м дісталося десять міст.
6 The people from the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh that lives on the east side of the Jordan [River].
А для Ґершонових синів від родів Іссаха́рового племени, і від Аси́рового племени, і від Нефтали́мового племени, і від половини Манасі́їного племени в Башані жеребком дісталося тринадцять міст.
7 The people from the Merari clans were allotted twelve cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
Мерарі́євим синам за їхніми ро́дами дісталося від племени Руви́мового, і від племени Ґа́дового, і від племени Завуло́нового — дванадцять міст.
8 So the Israeli leaders gave cities and pastureland to the tribe of Levi, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses that they should do.
І дали Ізраїлеві сини Левитам ті міста та їхні пасови́ська, як наказав був Господь через Мойсея, жеребко́м.
9 These are the names of the cities and surrounding pasturelands that were allotted to them, that were in the areas where the tribes of Judah and Simeon lived.
І дали вони з племени синів Юдиних та з племени синів Симеонових ті міста, що будуть нижче на́звані йме́нням свої́м.
10 First, they allotted cities to the members of the Kohath clans.
I було для Ааронових синів із родів кегатеянина, з Левієвих синів, бо їм був жеребок найперше.
11 They allotted to them Kiriath-Arba (which is [now named] Hebron), in the hilly area of Judah. Arba received its name because Arba was the ancestor of [the giants of] the Anak people-group.
І дали їм місто Кір'ят, батька ве́летнів Арби, воно Хевро́н, на Юдиних горах, та його пасови́ська навколо нього.
12 But the fields and villages surrounding Arba had already been allotted to Caleb.
А мійське поле та оселі його дали Калеву, синові Єфуннеєвому, на власність його.
13 They allotted to them Hebron, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected. They also allotted to the Kohath clan the cities of Libnah,
А синам священика Ааро́на дали місто схо́вища вбійника: Хевро́н та його пасови́ська, і Лівну та її пасови́ська,
14 Jattir, Eshtemoa,
і Яттір та його пасови́ська, і Ештемоа та її пасовиська,
15 Holon, Debir,
і Холон та його пасовиська, і Девір та його пасовиська,
16 Ain, Juttah, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether they were allotted those nine cities which were located in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah and Simeon.
і Аїн та його пасовиська, і Ютту та її пасовиська, Бет-Шемеш та його пасовиська, — дев'ять міст від двох тих племе́н.
17 The Kohath clan was also allotted these four cities: Gibeon, Geba,
А від Веніями́нового племени: Ґів'он та його пасовиська, Ґеву та її пасовиська,
18 Anathoth, and Almon. Those cities were in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Benjamin.
Анатоль та його пасовиська, і Алмон та його пасовиська, — міст четверо.
19 Altogether those 13 towns and surrounding pastureland were allotted to the priests who were descended from Aaron.
Усіх міст Ааронових синів, священиків, — тринадцять міст та їхні пасови́ська.
20 The other members the Kohath clan were allotted four cities and the surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.
А ро́дам Кегатових синів, Левитам, що позостали від Кегатових синів, міста́ їхнього жеребка́ були́ від Єфремового пле́мени.
21 Those cities were Shechem (which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Gezer,
І дали їм місто схо́вища вбійника: Сихем та його пасови́ська, на Єфремовій горі, і Ґезер та його пасовиська.
22 Kibzaim, and Beth-Horon.
І Ківцаїм та його пасовиська, і Бет-Хорон та його пасовиська, міст четверо.
23 They were also allotted four cities and surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Dan. Those cities were Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
А від Данового племени: Елтеке та його пасовиська, Ґіббетон та його пасовиська,
24 Aijalon, and Gath-Rimmon.
Айялон та його пасовиська, Ґат-Ріммон та його пасовиська, — міст четверо.
25 They were also allotted two towns and surrounding pastureland that had been allotted to [the] part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lived on the west side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Taanach and Gath-Rimmon.
А від половини Манасіїного племени: Таанах та його пасовиська, і Ґат-Ріммон та його пасовиська, — міст двоє.
26 Those were the ten cities and surrounding pastureland that were allotted to the other members of the Kohath clan.
Усіх міст — десять та їхні пасовиська для родів позосталих Кегатових синів.
27 They also allotted towns and the surrounding pastureland to the Gershon clans. Those clans were also descended from Levi. They were allotted two cities from the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Manasseh [that is on the east side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Golan in the Bashan region, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, and Be-Eshtarah.
А для Ґершонових синів з Левієвих ро́дів від половини Манасіїного племени місто схо́вища вбійника: Ґолан у Башані та його пасовиська, і Беештера та її пасовиська, — міст двоє.
28 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Issachar they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Kishion, Daberath,
А від Іссаха́рового племени: Кіш'йон та його пасовиська, Доврат та його пасовиська,
29 Jarmuth, and En-Gannim.
Ярмут та його пасовиська, Ен-Ґаннім та його пасовиська, міст четверо.
30 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Asher they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Mishal, Abdon,
А від Асирового племени: Міш'ал та його пасовиська, Ардон та його пасовиська,
31 Helkath, and Rehob.
Хелкат та його пасовиська, Рехов та його пасовиська, — міст четверо.
32 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Naphtali they were allotted three cities. Those cities were Kedesh in the Galilee region (it was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan.
А від Нефтали́мового племени місто схо́вища вбійника: Кедеш у Ґаліл та його пасовиська, і Хаммот-Дор та його пасовиська, і Картан та його пасовиська, — міст троє.
33 So altogether the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities and the surrounding pasturelands.
Усіх міст Ґершо́нових за їхніми родами — тринадцять міст та їхні пасови́ська.
34 The other descendants of Levi, the ones who belonged to the Merari clans, were also allotted towns and their surrounding pasturelands. From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Zebulun they were allotted four cities. They were Jokneam, Kartah,
А для родів Мерарієвих синів, Левитів, позосталих від племени Завуло́нового: Йокнеам та його пасовиська, Карта та її пасовиська.
35 Dimnah, and Nahalal.
Дімна та її пасовиська, Нагалал та його пасовиська, — міст четверо.
36 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Reuben they were allotted four cities. They were Bezer, Jahaz,
А від Рувимового племени: Бецар та його пасовиська, і Ягца та її пасови́ська,
37 Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
Кедемот та його пасови́ська, і Мефаат та його пасовиська, — міст четверо.
38 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,
А від Ґадового племени місто схо́вища вбійника: Рамот у Ґілеаді та його пасовиська, і Маханаїм та його пасовиська,
39 Heshbon, and Jazer.
Хешбон та його пасовиська, Язер та його пасовиська, — усіх міст четверо.
40 Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.
Усіх міст для Мерарієвих синів за їхніми ро́дами, що позосталися з Левієвих ро́дів, було за їхнім жеребко́м дванадцять міст.
41 So altogether 48 cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,
Усіх Левієвих міст серед вла́сности Ізраїлевих синів — сорок і вісім міст та їхні пасовиська.
42 and each city had surrounding pastureland.
Будуть ті міста такі: кожне місто з пасовиськом його навколо нього, — так для всіх тих міст.
43 In that way Yahweh allotted to the Israeli people all the land that he had promised to give to their/our ancestors. The Israeli people took control of [most of] those areas and started to live there.
І дав Господь Ізраїлеві ввесь той край, що присягну́в був дати його́ їхнім батька́м, і вони посіли його та й осілися в ньому.
44 Just like he had promised our ancestors, Yahweh allowed them/us to have peace with the enemies that surrounded them/us. Yahweh enabled the Israelis/us to defeat their/our enemies.
І Господь дав їм мир навко́ло, усе так, як присягнув був їхнім батька́м. І ніхто зо всіх їхніх ворогів не встояв перед ними, — усіх їхніх ворогів Господь дав у їхню руку.
45 Yahweh did all the things that he had promised to the Israeli people/us. Everything that he said would happen did happen.
Нічо́го не було неви́конаного з усього того доброго слова, що Господь говорив до Ізраїлевого дому, — усе збуло́ся.
