Joshua 21
1 While Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of all the Israeli tribes were at Shiloh, the leaders of the clans of the tribe of Levi went to them and said, “Yahweh commanded Moses that you should give us towns where we can have pasture/fields/grassland for our animals, [but you have not done these things yet].”
E os principais dos pais dos levitas vieram a Eleazar sacerdote, e a Josué filho de Num, e aos principais dos pais das tribos dos filhos de Israel;
E falaram-lhes em Siló na terra de Canaã, dizendo: O SENHOR mandou por Moisés que nos fossem dadas vilas para habitar, com seus campos para nossos animais.
3 So the Israeli leaders obeyed this command from Yahweh. They agreed to give towns and pasturelands to the tribe of Levi.
Então os filhos de Israel deram aos levitas de suas possessões, conforme a palavra do SENHOR, estas vilas com seus campos.
4 [First] they allotted some cities to the Kohath clans, who belonged to the tribe of Levi. To those who were descendants of the first Supreme Priest Aaron, they allotted 13 towns in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
E saiu a sorte para as famílias dos coatitas; e foram dadas por porção aos filhos de Arão sacerdote, que eram dos levitas, pela tribo de Judá, pela de Simeão e pela de Benjamim, treze vilas.
5 To the other members of the Kohath clan they allotted ten cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lives on the west side of the Jordan River].
E aos outros filhos de Coate se deram por porção dez vilas das famílias da tribo de Efraim, e da tribo de Dã, e da meia tribo de Manassés;
6 The people from the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh that lives on the east side of the Jordan [River].
E aos filhos de Gérson, pelas famílias da tribo de Issacar, e da tribo de Aser, e da tribo de Naftali, e da meia tribo de Manassés em Basã, foram dadas por porção treze vilas.
7 The people from the Merari clans were allotted twelve cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
Aos filhos de Merari por suas famílias se deram doze vilas pela tribo de Rúben, e pela tribo de Gade, e pela tribo de Zebulom.
8 So the Israeli leaders gave cities and pastureland to the tribe of Levi, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses that they should do.
E assim deram por sorte os filhos de Israel aos levitas estas vilas com seus campos, como o SENHOR o havia mandado por Moisés.
9 These are the names of the cities and surrounding pasturelands that were allotted to them, that were in the areas where the tribes of Judah and Simeon lived.
E da tribo dos filhos de Judá, e da tribo dos filhos de Simeão deram estas vilas que foram nomeadas:
10 First, they allotted cities to the members of the Kohath clans.
E a primeira porção foi dos filhos de Arão, da família de Coate, dos filhos de Levi;
11 They allotted to them Kiriath-Arba (which is [now named] Hebron), in the hilly area of Judah. Arba received its name because Arba was the ancestor of [the giants of] the Anak people-group.
Aos quais deram Quiriate-Arba, do pai de Anaque, a qual é Hebrom, no monte de Judá, com seus campos em seus entornos.
12 But the fields and villages surrounding Arba had already been allotted to Caleb.
Mas o campo desta cidade e suas aldeias deram a Calebe filho de Jefoné, por sua possessão.
13 They allotted to them Hebron, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected. They also allotted to the Kohath clan the cities of Libnah,
E aos filhos de Arão, o sacerdote, deram a cidade de refúgio para os homicidas, a Hebrom com seus campos; e a Libna com seus campos,
14 Jattir, Eshtemoa,
E a Jatir com seus campos, e a Estemoa com seus campos,
15 Holon, Debir,
A Holom com seus campos, e a Debir com seus campos,
16 Ain, Juttah, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether they were allotted those nine cities which were located in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah and Simeon.
A Aim com seus campos, a Jutá com seus campos, e a Bete-Semes com seus campos; nove vilas destas duas tribos:
17 The Kohath clan was also allotted these four cities: Gibeon, Geba,
E da tribo de Benjamim, a Gibeom com seus campos, a Geba com seus campos,
18 Anathoth, and Almon. Those cities were in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Benjamin.
A Anatote com seus campos, a Almom com seus campos: quatro vilas.
19 Altogether those 13 towns and surrounding pastureland were allotted to the priests who were descended from Aaron.
Todas as vilas dos sacerdotes, filhos de Arão, são treze com seus campos.
20 The other members the Kohath clan were allotted four cities and the surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.
Mas as famílias dos filhos de Coate, levitas, os que restavam dos filhos de Coate, receberam por porção vilas da tribo de Efraim.
21 Those cities were Shechem (which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Gezer,
E deram-lhes a Siquém, vila de refúgio para os homicidas, com seus campos, no monte de Efraim; e a Gezer com seus campos.
22 Kibzaim, and Beth-Horon.
E a Quibzaim com seus campos, e a Bete-Horom com seus campos: quatro vilas:
23 They were also allotted four cities and surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Dan. Those cities were Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
E da tribo de Dã a Elteque com seus campos, a Gibetom com seus campos,
24 Aijalon, and Gath-Rimmon.
A Aijalom com seus campos, a Gate-Rimom com seus campos: quatro vilas:
25 They were also allotted two towns and surrounding pastureland that had been allotted to [the] part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lived on the west side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Taanach and Gath-Rimmon.
E da meia tribo de Manassés, a Taanaque com seus campos, e a Gate-Rimom com seus campos: duas vilas.
26 Those were the ten cities and surrounding pastureland that were allotted to the other members of the Kohath clan.
Todas as vilas para o resto das famílias dos filhos de Coate foram dez com seus campos.
27 They also allotted towns and the surrounding pastureland to the Gershon clans. Those clans were also descended from Levi. They were allotted two cities from the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Manasseh [that is on the east side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Golan in the Bashan region, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, and Be-Eshtarah.
Aos filhos de Gérson das famílias dos levitas, deram a vila de refúgio para os homicidas, da meia tribo de Manassés: a Golã em Basã com seus campos, e a Beesterá com seus campos: duas vilas.
28 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Issachar they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Kishion, Daberath,
E da tribo de Issacar, a Quisiom com seus campos, a Daberate com seus campos,
29 Jarmuth, and En-Gannim.
A Jarmute com seus campos, e a En-Ganim com seus campos: quatro vilas:
30 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Asher they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Mishal, Abdon,
E da tribo de Aser, a Misal com seus campos, a Abdom com seus campos,
31 Helkath, and Rehob.
A Helcate com seus campos, e a Reobe com seus campos: quatro vilas:
32 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Naphtali they were allotted three cities. Those cities were Kedesh in the Galilee region (it was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan.
E da tribo de Naftali, a vila de refúgio para os homicidas, a Quedes na Galileia com seus campos, a Hamote-Dor com seus campos, e a Cartã com seus campos: três vilas:
33 So altogether the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities and the surrounding pasturelands.
Todas as vilas dos gersonitas por suas famílias foram treze vilas com seus campos.
34 The other descendants of Levi, the ones who belonged to the Merari clans, were also allotted towns and their surrounding pasturelands. From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Zebulun they were allotted four cities. They were Jokneam, Kartah,
E às famílias dos filhos de Merari, levitas que restavam, deu-se a eles da tribo de Zebulom, a Jocneão com seus campos, Cartá com seus campos,
35 Dimnah, and Nahalal.
Dimna com seus campos, Naalal com seus campos: quatro vilas:
36 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Reuben they were allotted four cities. They were Bezer, Jahaz,
E da tribo de Rúben, a Bezer com seus campos, a Jaza com seus campos,
37 Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
A Quedemote com seus campos, e Mefaate com seus campos: quatro vilas:
38 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,
Da tribo de Gade, a vila de refúgio para os homicidas, Ramote em Gileade com seus campos, e Maanaim com seus campos,
39 Heshbon, and Jazer.
Hesbom com seus campos, e Jazer com seus campos: quatro vilas.
40 Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.
Todas as vilas dos filhos de Merari por suas famílias, que restavam das famílias dos levitas, foram por suas porções doze vilas.
41 So altogether 48 cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,
E todas as vilas dos levitas em meio da possessão dos filhos de Israel, foram quarenta e oito vilas com seus campos.
42 and each city had surrounding pastureland.
E estas cidades estavam separadas a uma da outra cada qual com seus campos ao redor delas: o qual foi em todas estas cidades.
43 In that way Yahweh allotted to the Israeli people all the land that he had promised to give to their/our ancestors. The Israeli people took control of [most of] those areas and started to live there.
Assim deu o SENHOR a Israel toda a terra que havia jurado dar a seus pais; e possuíram-na, e habitaram nela.
44 Just like he had promised our ancestors, Yahweh allowed them/us to have peace with the enemies that surrounded them/us. Yahweh enabled the Israelis/us to defeat their/our enemies.
E o SENHOR lhes deu repouso ao redor, conforme todo o que havia jurado a seus pais: e nenhum de todos os inimigos lhes parou diante, mas sim que o SENHOR entregou em suas mãos a todos os seus inimigos.
45 Yahweh did all the things that he had promised to the Israeli people/us. Everything that he said would happen did happen.
Não faltou palavra de todas as boas coisas que o SENHOR falou à casa de Israel; tudo se cumpriu.
