Joshua 21
1 While Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of all the Israeli tribes were at Shiloh, the leaders of the clans of the tribe of Levi went to them and said, “Yahweh commanded Moses that you should give us towns where we can have pasture/fields/grassland for our animals, [but you have not done these things yet].”
त्यसपछि लेवी कुलका कुलनायकहरू पुजारी एलाजार, नूनका छोरा यहोशू र इस्राएलका मानिसहरूभित्रका तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूको परिवारहरूका अगुवाहरूकहाँ आए ।
तिनीहरूले कनानको भूमिमा शीलोमा तिनीहरूलाई भने, “परमप्रभुले मोशाद्वारा हाम्रा गाईवस्तुहरूका निम्ति खर्कसहितका बसोबास गर्न हामीलाई सहरहरू दिन आज्ञा गर्नुभएको थियो ।”
3 So the Israeli leaders obeyed this command from Yahweh. They agreed to give towns and pasturelands to the tribe of Levi.
त्यसैले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुको आज्ञाद्वारा लेवीहरूलाई तिनीहरूका खर्कहरूसहित तिनीहरूको उत्तराधिकारबाट निम्न सहरहरू दिए ।
4 [First] they allotted some cities to the Kohath clans, who belonged to the tribe of Levi. To those who were descendants of the first Supreme Priest Aaron, they allotted 13 towns in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
कहातीहरूका निम्ति हालेको चिट्ठाको परिणाम यस्तो आयोः लेवीबाट जन्मेका हारूनका सन्तानहरू, पुजारीहरूले यहूदाको कुलबाट, शिमियोनका कुलबाट र बेन्यामीनको कुलबाट दिइएका तेह्रवटा सहर पाए ।
5 To the other members of the Kohath clan they allotted ten cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lives on the west side of the Jordan River].
बाँकी कहातीहरूलाई एफ्राइम, दान र मनश्शेको आधा कुलबाट दश सहर दिइयो ।
6 The people from the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh that lives on the east side of the Jordan [River].
त्यसपछि गेर्शोनबाट जन्मेका मानिसहरूलाई चिट्ठाद्वारा इस्साखार, आशेर, नप्तली र बाशानमा मनश्शेको आधा कुलबाट तेह्रवटा सहर दिइयो ।
7 The people from the Merari clans were allotted twelve cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
मरारीका सन्तानहरूका कुल-कुलअनुसार रूबेन, गाद र जबूलूनको कुलबाट बाह्रवटा सहर पाए ।
8 So the Israeli leaders gave cities and pastureland to the tribe of Levi, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses that they should do.
त्यसैले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुले मोशाद्वारा आज्ञा दिनुभएमुताबिक लेवीहरूलाई यी सहरहरू (तिनीहरूका खर्कहरूसहित) चिट्ठा हालेर दिए ।
9 These are the names of the cities and surrounding pasturelands that were allotted to them, that were in the areas where the tribes of Judah and Simeon lived.
यहूदा र शिमियोनका कुलहरूबाट तिनीहरूले यहाँ नाउँद्वारा सूची बनाएअनुसार दिए ।
10 First, they allotted cities to the members of the Kohath clans.
यी सहरहरू हारूनका सन्तानहरूलाई दिइयो, जो कहाती कुलका थिए र लेवी वंशबाटका थिए । किनभने पहिले हालेको चिट्ठा तिनीहरूलाई पर्यो ।
11 They allotted to them Kiriath-Arba (which is [now named] Hebron), in the hilly area of Judah. Arba received its name because Arba was the ancestor of [the giants of] the Anak people-group.
इस्राएलीहरूलाई किर्यत-अर्बा (अर्बा अनाका पिता थिए) अर्थात् जुन हेब्रोन हो यहूदाको पहाडी देशमा यसका खर्कहरूसहित तिनीहरूलाई दिए ।
12 But the fields and villages surrounding Arba had already been allotted to Caleb.
तर तिनीहरूका गाउँहरूसहित सहरका खेतहरू यपुन्नेका छोरा कालेबलाई पहिले नै तिनको अधिकारको रूपमा दिइएको थियो ।
13 They allotted to them Hebron, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected. They also allotted to the Kohath clan the cities of Libnah,
तिनीहरूले पुजारी हारूनका सन्तानहरूलाई यसका खर्कहरूसहित हेब्रोन, जुन अरूलाई अनजानमा मार्ने मानिसको निम्ति शरण-नगर थियो, र यसको खर्कसहित लिब्ना,
14 Jattir, Eshtemoa,
यसको खर्कसहित यत्तीर, र यसको खर्कसहित एश्तमो दिए ।
15 Holon, Debir,
तिनीहरूले यसको खर्कसहित होलोन, यसको खर्कसहित दबीर,
16 Ain, Juttah, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether they were allotted those nine cities which were located in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah and Simeon.
यसको खर्कसहित ऐन, यसको खर्कसहित युत्ता र यसको खर्कसहित बेथ-शेमेश दिए । यी दुई कुलबाट दिइएका नौवटा सहर थिए ।
17 The Kohath clan was also allotted these four cities: Gibeon, Geba,
बेन्यामीनको कुलबाट यसको खर्कसहित गिबोन, यसको खर्कसहित गेबा,
18 Anathoth, and Almon. Those cities were in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Benjamin.
यसको खर्कसहित अनातोत, र यसको खर्कसहित चारवटा सहर दिइयो ।
19 Altogether those 13 towns and surrounding pastureland were allotted to the priests who were descended from Aaron.
हारूनका सन्तानहरू, पुजारीहरूलाई दिइएका सहरहरू तिनीहरूका खर्कहरूसहित तेह्रवटा थिए ।
20 The other members the Kohath clan were allotted four cities and the surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.
बाँकी कहातीहरू जो लेवी कुलको कहाती थिए, तिनीहरूले चिट्ठा हालेर एफ्राइमको कुलबाट तिनीहरूलाई दिएका थिए ।
21 Those cities were Shechem (which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Gezer,
तिनीहरू कसैलाई अनजानमा मानिस मार्ने व्यक्तिको निम्ति शरण-नगरको निम्ति एफ्राइमको पहाडी देशमा यसको खर्कसहित शकेम, गेजेर,
22 Kibzaim, and Beth-Horon.
यसको खर्कसहित किब्सैम र यसको खर्कसहित बेथ-होरोन गरी चाटवटा सहर दिइयो ।
23 They were also allotted four cities and surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Dan. Those cities were Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
दानको कुलबाट कहातको कुललाई यसको खर्कसहित एल्तके, यसको खर्कसहित गिब्बतोन,
24 Aijalon, and Gath-Rimmon.
यसको खर्कसहित अय्यालोन र यसको खर्कसहित गात-रिम्मोन गरी चारवटा सहर दिइयो ।
25 They were also allotted two towns and surrounding pastureland that had been allotted to [the] part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lived on the west side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Taanach and Gath-Rimmon.
मनश्शेको कुलबाट कहातको कुललाई यसको खर्कसहित तानाक र यसको खर्कसहित गात-रिम्मोन गरी दुईवटा सहर दिइयो ।
26 Those were the ten cities and surrounding pastureland that were allotted to the other members of the Kohath clan.
तिनीहरूका खर्कसहित बाँकी कहाती कुलका निम्ति दसवटा सहर थिए ।
27 They also allotted towns and the surrounding pastureland to the Gershon clans. Those clans were also descended from Levi. They were allotted two cities from the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Manasseh [that is on the east side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Golan in the Bashan region, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, and Be-Eshtarah.
मनश्शेको आधा कुलबाट अन्य लेवी कुल अर्थात् गेर्शोनको कुललाई तिनीहरूले यसको खर्कसहित गोलान अनजानमा मानिसलाई मार्ने व्यक्तिको निम्ति शरण-नगर हुनलाई साथै यसको खर्कसहित बे-एश्तरा गरी दुईवटा दिए ।
28 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Issachar they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Kishion, Daberath,
गेर्सोनका कुललाई तिनीहरूले इस्साखारको कुलबाट यसको खर्कसहित किश्योन, यसको खर्कसहित दाबरत,
29 Jarmuth, and En-Gannim.
यसको खर्कसहित यर्मूत र यसको खर्कसहित एन-गन्नीम गरी चारवटा सहर दिए ।
30 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Asher they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Mishal, Abdon,
आशेरको कुलबाट तिनीहरूले यसको खर्कसहित मिशाल, यसको खर्कसहित अब्दोन,
31 Helkath, and Rehob.
यसको खर्कसहित हल्केत र यसको खर्कसहित रहोब गरी चाटवटा सहर दिए ।
32 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Naphtali they were allotted three cities. Those cities were Kedesh in the Galilee region (it was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan.
नप्तलीको कुलबाट, तिनीहरूले गेर्शोनको कुललाई यसको खर्कसहित गालीलमा केदेश, कसैलाई अनजानमा मार्ने व्यक्तिको निम्ति शरण-नगरको रूपमा; यसको खर्कसहित हम्मोत-डोर र यसको खर्कसहित कर्तान गरी जम्मा तिनवटा सहर दिए ।
33 So altogether the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities and the surrounding pasturelands.
गेर्शोनको कुलबाट तिनीहरूका खर्कसहित जम्मा तेह्रवटा सहर थिए ।
34 The other descendants of Levi, the ones who belonged to the Merari clans, were also allotted towns and their surrounding pasturelands. From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Zebulun they were allotted four cities. They were Jokneam, Kartah,
बाँकी लेवीहरू माकीरको कुललाई जबूलूनको कुलबाट यी सहरहरू दिइयोः यसको खर्कसहित योक्नाम, यसको खर्कसहित कर्तह,
35 Dimnah, and Nahalal.
यसको खर्कसहित दिम्ना र यसको खर्कसहित नहलल गरी जम्मा चारवटा सहर दिइयो ।
36 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Reuben they were allotted four cities. They were Bezer, Jahaz,
मरारीको कुललाई यी सहरहरू दिइयोः यसको खर्कसहित बेसेर,
37 Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
यसको खर्कसहित यहसा, यसको खर्कसहित कदेमोत, र यसको खर्कसहित मेपात गरी चारवटा सहर ।
38 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,
गादको कुलबाट तिनीहरूले यसको खर्कसहित गिलादमा रामोतलाई अरूलाई अनजानमा मार्ने व्यक्तिको निम्ति शरण-नगरको रूपमा, र यसको खर्कसहित महनोम दिए ।
39 Heshbon, and Jazer.
मरारीका कुललाई यसको खर्कसहित हेश्बोन र यसको खर्कसहित याजेर पनि दिइयो । यी चारवटा सहर थिए ।
40 Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.
यी सबै सहर मरारी कुलका थिए जो लेवी कुलबाटका थिए, तिनीहरूलाई चिट्ठा हालेर बाह्रवटा सहर दिइयो ।
41 So altogether 48 cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,
लेवीका सहरहरू इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको अधीनमा रहेको भू-भागको बिचबाट लिइएका सहरहरू तिनीहरूका खर्कसहित अठचालिसवटा थिए ।
42 and each city had surrounding pastureland.
यी हरेक सहरको आ-आफ्नै खर्कहरू थिए । सबै सहरको यस्तै नै थियो ।
43 In that way Yahweh allotted to the Israeli people all the land that he had promised to give to their/our ancestors. The Israeli people took control of [most of] those areas and started to live there.
यसरी परमप्रभुले इस्राएलका पुर्खाहरूलाई दिन्छु भनी प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको सबै भू-भाग दिनुभयो । इस्राएलीहरूले यो कब्जा गरे र त्यहाँ बसोबास गरे ।
44 Just like he had promised our ancestors, Yahweh allowed them/us to have peace with the enemies that surrounded them/us. Yahweh enabled the Israelis/us to defeat their/our enemies.
त्यसपछि परमप्रभु तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूलाई प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएबमोजिम नै तिनीहरूलाई चारैतिर विश्राम दिनुभयो । तिनीहरूका एक जना शत्रुले पनि तिनीहरूलाई पराजित गर्न सकेन । परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूका सबै शत्रुलाई तिनीहरूका हातमा सुम्पिदिनुभयो ।
45 Yahweh did all the things that he had promised to the Israeli people/us. Everything that he said would happen did happen.
परमप्रभुले इस्राएलको घरानालाई भन्नुभएका सबै असल प्रतिज्ञाहरूमध्ये एउटा पनि सत्य हुन आउनबाट चुकेन । ती सबै नै पुरा हुन आए ।
