Joshua 21
1 While Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of all the Israeli tribes were at Shiloh, the leaders of the clans of the tribe of Levi went to them and said, “Yahweh commanded Moses that you should give us towns where we can have pasture/fields/grassland for our animals, [but you have not done these things yet].”
लेवी परिवारों के प्रमुख पुरोहित एलिएज़र, नून के पुत्र यहोशू तथा इस्राएली गोत्रों के मुखियों के पास गए.
कनान देश के शीलो में उन्होंने उनसे यह बात कही, “मोशेह के द्वारा याहवेह ने हमसे कहा कि हमें हमारे निवास के लिए नगर दिया जाएगा. और इन नगरों के आस-पास हमारे पशुओं को चराने की जगह भी होगी.”
3 So the Israeli leaders obeyed this command from Yahweh. They agreed to give towns and pasturelands to the tribe of Levi.
तब इस्राएल वंश ने याहवेह के आदेश के अनुसार लेवियों को अपने हिस्से में से नगर दिये, जिनके आस-पास की चरागाह की भूमि भी थी.
4 [First] they allotted some cities to the Kohath clans, who belonged to the tribe of Levi. To those who were descendants of the first Supreme Priest Aaron, they allotted 13 towns in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
पहला नाम कोहाथ के परिवारों का आया, जो अहरोन वंश के लेवियों में से थे. यहूदाह, शिमओन तथा बिन्यामिन गोत्र को बांटी गई भूमि में से तेरह नगर उन्हें मिले.
5 To the other members of the Kohath clan they allotted ten cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lives on the west side of the Jordan River].
कोहाथ के कुछ लोगों को एफ्राईम, दान तथा मनश्शेह के आधे गोत्र की भूमि में से दस नगर मिले.
6 The people from the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh that lives on the east side of the Jordan [River].
गेरशोन वंश को इस्साखार, आशेर, नफताली गोत्रों की भूमि में से, तथा बाशान में मनश्शेह के आधे गोत्र की भूमि में से, कुल तेरह नगर मिले.
7 The people from the Merari clans were allotted twelve cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
मेरारी वंश को उनके परिवारों के अनुसार रियूबेन, गाद तथा ज़ेबुलून के गोत्रों से बारह नगर मिले.
8 So the Israeli leaders gave cities and pastureland to the tribe of Levi, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses that they should do.
इस्राएलियों ने लेवियों को पशु चराने के लिए भी नगर दिए, जैसा मोशेह को याहवेह का आदेश था.
9 These are the names of the cities and surrounding pasturelands that were allotted to them, that were in the areas where the tribes of Judah and Simeon lived.
उन्होंने कुछ नगर यहूदाह तथा शिमओन गोत्र के कुलों को दिए:
10 First, they allotted cities to the members of the Kohath clans.
ये अहरोन वंश, जो कोहाथियों के परिवारों में से लेवी वंश के थे, पहला नाम उन्हीं का आया था.
11 They allotted to them Kiriath-Arba (which is [now named] Hebron), in the hilly area of Judah. Arba received its name because Arba was the ancestor of [the giants of] the Anak people-group.
तब उन्होंने उन्हें यहूदिया के पर्वतीय प्रदेश में उनके आस-पास के जगह चरागाह सहित किरयथ-अरबा नगर दे दिया—अरबा नामक व्यक्ति अनाक अर्थात् हेब्रोन का पिता था.
12 But the fields and villages surrounding Arba had already been allotted to Caleb.
परंतु नगर के खेत तथा इसके गांव उन्होंने येफुन्नेह के पुत्र कालेब को दे दिए, कि ये उनकी अपनी भूमि हो.
13 They allotted to them Hebron, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected. They also allotted to the Kohath clan the cities of Libnah,
उन्होंने अहरोन के वंशजों को ये नगर दिए: हेब्रोन (जो शरण शहर था), और लिबनाह,
14 Jattir, Eshtemoa,
यत्तिर, एशतमोह,
15 Holon, Debir,
होलोन, दबीर,
16 Ain, Juttah, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether they were allotted those nine cities which were located in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah and Simeon.
एइन, युताह और बेथ-शेमेश को उनके चराइयों के साथ ये नगर भी दे दिए गए इस प्रकार दो गोत्रों के हिस्से में से यह नौ नगर दिए गए,
17 The Kohath clan was also allotted these four cities: Gibeon, Geba,
बिन्यामिन गोत्र से: गिबयोन, गेबा,
18 Anathoth, and Almon. Those cities were in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Benjamin.
अनाथोथ आलमोन को चराइयों सहित चार नगर दिये गए.
19 Altogether those 13 towns and surrounding pastureland were allotted to the priests who were descended from Aaron.
इस प्रकार अहरोन वंश के पुरोहितों के लिए कुल तेरह नगर उनके चराइयों सहित अलग कर दिए गए.
20 The other members the Kohath clan were allotted four cities and the surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.
तब कोहाथ वंश को, जो लेवी थे, तथा कोहाथ के बचे हुए पुरोहितों को एफ्राईम गोत्र से नगर दिये:
21 Those cities were Shechem (which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Gezer,
उन्होंने इन्हें एफ्राईम के पर्वतीय प्रदेश से शेकेम (जो मनुष्य के हत्यारे के लिए ठहराए शरण शहर) और गेज़ेर
22 Kibzaim, and Beth-Horon.
किबज़यिम तथा बेथ-होरोन और इसके चराइयों के साथ; चार नगर दिये.
23 They were also allotted four cities and surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Dan. Those cities were Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
दान के गोत्र से: एलतके, गिब्बथोन,
24 Aijalon, and Gath-Rimmon.
अय्जालोन गथ-रिम्मोन; उनके चराइयों के साथ चार नगर दिये.
25 They were also allotted two towns and surrounding pastureland that had been allotted to [the] part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lived on the west side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Taanach and Gath-Rimmon.
मनश्शेह के आधे गोत्र में से: उन्होंने उन्हें तानख और गथ-रिम्मोन; उनके चराइयों के साथ, दो नगर दिये.
26 Those were the ten cities and surrounding pastureland that were allotted to the other members of the Kohath clan.
कोहाथ वंश के बचे हुए परिवारों को दस नगर चराइयों सहित दिए गए.
27 They also allotted towns and the surrounding pastureland to the Gershon clans. Those clans were also descended from Levi. They were allotted two cities from the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Manasseh [that is on the east side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Golan in the Bashan region, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, and Be-Eshtarah.
गेरशोन वंश को, जो लेवी गोत्र से थे: मनश्शेह के आधे गोत्र में से बाशान का गोलान (जो हत्यारे के लिए निश्चित शरण शहर था) और उसके चराइयों सहित, बएशतरा उसके चराइयों सहित, दो नगर दिए.
28 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Issachar they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Kishion, Daberath,
इस्साखार के गोत्र में से: किशयोन, दाबरथ,
29 Jarmuth, and En-Gannim.
यरमूथ और एन-गन्नीम उसके चराइयों सहित; चार नगर दिये.
30 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Asher they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Mishal, Abdon,
आशेर के गोत्र से: मिशआल, अबदोन,
31 Helkath, and Rehob.
हेलकथ तथा रेहोब उनके चराइयों सहित चार नगर दिए;
32 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Naphtali they were allotted three cities. Those cities were Kedesh in the Galilee region (it was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan.
नफताली गोत्र से: उन्होंने उन्हें गलील में केदेश (जो हत्यारे के लिए निश्चित शरण शहर था), हम्मोथ-दोर तथा करतान; उनके चराइयों सहित तीन नगर दिये.
33 So altogether the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities and the surrounding pasturelands.
उनके परिवारों के अनुसार गेरशोन वंश को कुल तेरह नगर, उनके चराइयों सहित दिये.
34 The other descendants of Levi, the ones who belonged to the Merari clans, were also allotted towns and their surrounding pasturelands. From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Zebulun they were allotted four cities. They were Jokneam, Kartah,
मेरारी वंश के परिवारों को, जो लेवी गोत्र से बचे हुए थे: उन्होंने ज़ेबुलून के गोत्र से: योकनआम, करता,
35 Dimnah, and Nahalal.
दिमना तथा नहलाल, सबको चराइयों सहित; चार नगर दे दिए.
36 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Reuben they were allotted four cities. They were Bezer, Jahaz,
रियूबेन के गोत्र से: उन्होंने उन्हें बेज़र, यहत्स,
37 Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
केदेमोथ तथा मेफाअथ उनके चराइयों सहित चार नगर दिए;
38 From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,
गाद के गोत्र से: उन्होंने उन्हें रामोथ-गिलआद (जो हत्यारे के लिए निश्चित शरण शहर था) उसके चराई के सहित, माहानाईम,
39 Heshbon, and Jazer.
हेशबोन तथा याज़र; उनके चराइयों सहित कुल चार नगर दिए.
40 Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.
ये सभी नगर उनके परिवारों के अनुसार मेरारी वंश, और बचे हुए लेवियों के हो गए. उनके हिस्से में कुल बारह नगर आए.
41 So altogether 48 cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,
इस्राएल वंश के मध्य लेवियों के हिस्से में उनके चराइयों सहित अड़तालीस नगर आए.
42 and each city had surrounding pastureland.
इन सभी नगरों के चारों और हरियाली थी; यह इन सभी नगरों के लिए सच था.
43 In that way Yahweh allotted to the Israeli people all the land that he had promised to give to their/our ancestors. The Israeli people took control of [most of] those areas and started to live there.
याहवेह ने इस्राएल को वह पूरा देश दे दिया, जिसकी शपथ उन्होंने उनके पूर्वजों से की थी.
44 Just like he had promised our ancestors, Yahweh allowed them/us to have peace with the enemies that surrounded them/us. Yahweh enabled the Israelis/us to defeat their/our enemies.
उन्होंने इस देश पर अपना अधिकार कर लिया और वे इसमें रहने लगे. याहवेह द्वारा उन्हें चारों ओर से शान्तिपूर्ण वातावरण मिला—जैसी शपथ याहवेह ने उनके पूर्वजों से की थी. कोई भी शत्रु उनके सामने ठहर न सका—याहवेह ने सभी शत्रु उनके अधीन कर दिए.
45 Yahweh did all the things that he had promised to the Israeli people/us. Everything that he said would happen did happen.
इस्राएल वंश से याहवेह द्वारा किया गया एक भी वायदा पूरा हुए बिना न रहा. सब वायदे याहवेह ने पूरे किए.
