Joshua 11
1 When King Jabin of Hazor [city] heard [about all those things that had happened], he sent messages to Jobab, the king of Madon [city], to the king of Shimron [city], and to the king of Acshaph [city], [requesting them to send their armies to come and help him fight against the Israelis].
Sa dihang nadungog kini ni Jabin, nga hari sa Asor, nagpadala siya ug mensahe ngadto kang Jobab, nga hari sa Madon, ngadto sa hari sa Simron, ug ngadto sa hari sa Acsaf.
2 He also sent messages to the kings in the northern hilly area and to the kings in the Jordan [River] Valley, south of Galilee [Lake] and in the western hills. He sent a message to the king of Naphoth-Dor [in the west]
Nagpadala usab siya ug mensahe ngadto sa mga hari nga anaa sa mga kabungtoran nga anaa sa amihanan, ngadto sa walog sa Suba sa Jordan sa habagatang bahin sa Cinerot, ngadto sa mga kapatagan, ug sa mga kabungtoran sa Dor nga anaa sa kasadpan.
3 and to the kings of the Canaan people-group in the eastern and western parts of the land. He sent messages to the Amor people-group and the Heth people-group and the Periz people-group and the Jebus people-group who lived in the hilly area. He also sent a message to the Hiv people-group who lived below Hermon [Mountain] in the Mizpah area.
Nagpadala usab siya ug mensahe ngadto sa mga Canaanhon nga anaa sa sidlakan ug kasadpan, sa mga Amorihanon, sa mga Hitihanon, sa mga Perisihanon, sa mga Jebusihanon nga anaa sa kabungtoran, ug sa mga Hebihanon sa Bukid sa Hermon sa yuta sa Mispa.
4 So the armies of all those kings gathered together, bringing their horses and chariots. [There seemed to be] [HYP] as many soldiers as grains of sand on the seashore.
Nagkatigom ang tanan nilang mga kasundalohan uban kanila, daghan kaayo nga mga kasundalohan, sama sa gidaghanon sa balas sa baybayon. Daghan kaayo sila ug mga kabayo ug mga karwahe.
5 All of those kings [and their armies] gathered together at Merom Pond, [and they set up their tents there]. Then they made plans to fight against the Israelis.
Sa gitakda nga panahon nagtagbo kini nga mga hari, ug nagkampo sila daplin sa katubigan sa Merom aron makiggubat sa Israel.
6 Then Yahweh said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, because at this time tomorrow I will enable your men to defeat them. Your men must also cripple their horses and burn their chariots.”
Si Yahweh miingon kang Josue, “Ayaw kahadlok sa ilang presensiya, tungod kay ugma sa sama niining taknaa ihatag ko silang tanan sa Israel ingon nga mga patay. Imong pungkolan ang ilang mga kabayo, ug imong sunogon ang ilang mga karwahe.”
7 So Joshua and his army traveled to Merom Pond and attacked their enemies (by surprise/before they were ready to fight).
Miabot si Josue ug ang tanan nga mga kalalakin-ang manggugubat. Kalit sila nga miabot ngadto sa mga katubigan sa Merom, ug gisulong ang kaaway.
8 Yahweh enabled the Israelis to defeat them. They pursued them to Sidon [city in the far north], and to Misrephoth-Maim [in the northwest], and to Mizpah Valley in the northeast. The Israelis fought them until (they were all dead/there were no survivors).
Gihatag ni Yahweh ang mga kaaway ngadto sa kamot sa Israel, ug gitigbas nila sila pinaagi sa ilang mga espada ug gigukod nila sila hangtod sa Sidon, Misrefot Maim, ug hangtod sa walog sa Mispa nga anaa sa sidlakan. Gipanigbas nila sila hangtod nga wala nay nabilin.
9 Then Joshua and his men did what Yahweh told them to do: They crippled their enemies’ horses and burned their chariots.
Gibuhat ni Josue kanila ang giingon ni Yahweh kaniya. Giputlan niya ug tiil ang mga kabayo ug gisunog ang mga karwahe.
10 The king of Hazor had ruled the people of all the kingdoms whose armies had fought against the Israelis. So Joshua’s army went back to Hazor and captured that city and killed their king.
Mibalik si Josue niana nga takna ug gisakop ang Hasor. Iyang gitigbas ang hari niini pinaagi sa espada. (Ang Hasor maoy labaw niini nga mga gingharian.)
11 They killed everyone in Hazor; (they did not spare anyone/no one was left alive) [DOU]. Then they burned the city.
Gitigbas nila pinaagi sa espada ang tanang mga buhing binuhat nga anaa didto, ug gigahin niya sila aron laglagon, busa wala gayoy buhing binuhat nga nahibilin. Unya iyang gisunog ang Hazor.
12 Joshua’s army captured all of those cities and killed all of their kings. They did that like Moses, the man who served Yahweh [well], had commanded them to do.
Nailog ni Josue ang tanang mga siyudad niini nga mga hari. Gidakop usab niya ang tanan nilang mga hari ug gitigbas sila pinaagi sa espada. Gilaglag gayod niya sila sa hingpit pinaagi sa espada, sama sa gimando ni Moises nga sulugoon ni Yahweh.
13 Joshua’s men burned Hazor [city], but they did not burn any of the other cities that were built on small hills.
Wala gisunog sa Israel ang mga siyudad nga natukod sa mga bungtod, gawas lamang sa Hasor. Kadto lamang ang gisunog ni Josue.
14 The Israelis took for themselves the animals that they found in those cities and everything else [that was valuable] [DOU]. But they killed all the people.
Gipanguha sa mga kasundalohan sa Israel alang sa ilang mga kaugalingon ang tanan nga inilog nga mga butang gikan niini nga mga siyudad uban sa mga kahayopan. Gipamatay nila ang tanang katawhan pinaagi sa espada hangtod nga ang tanan nangamatay. Wala silay gibilin nga buhing binuhat.
15 [Many years before], Yahweh had told Moses to do that, and then Moses told Joshua to do it. So Joshua did everything that Yahweh had commanded Moses to do.
Sama nga gimandoan ni Yahweh ang iyang sulugoon nga si Moises, gimandoan usab ni Moises si Josue. Busa wala gayoy bulohaton nga wala gitapos ni Josue gikan sa tanan nga gimando ni Yahweh kang Moises nga buhaton.
16 Joshua’s [army] defeated all the people who were living in that land. They took control over the hilly area and the area in the southern part of Canaan, all the area of Goshen, the western foothills, and the Jordan [River] Valley. They took control over all the mountains in Israel and all the hills near the mountains.
Giilog ni Josue kadtong tanan nga mga yuta, ang kabungtoran, ang tanan sa Negeb, ang yuta sa Gosen, ang tiilan sa mga bungtod, ang walog sa Suba sa Jordan, ang kabungtoran sa Israel, ug ang mga kapatagan.
17 They took control of all the land from Halak Mountain [in the south] up to the Seir [hilly area] as far as Baal-Gaal in Lebanon Valley [in the north], at the bottom of Hermon Mountain. They captured all the kings of those areas and killed them.
Gikan sa Bukid sa Halak nga duol sa Edomea, ug ngadto sa amihanan paingon sa Baal Gad sa walog nga duol sa Lebanon ubos sa Bukid sa Hermon, iyang gisakop ug gipamatay ang tanan nilang mga hari.
18 Joshua’s men fought against those groups for many years.
Nakiggubat si Josue sa dugay nga panahon uban sa tanan nga mga hari.
19 There was only one group that made a peace agreement with the Israelis; they were the people of the Hiv people-group who lived in Gibeon. The Israelis captured all the other towns in battles.
Wala gayoy siyudad nga nakighigala sa kasundalohan sa Israel gawas lamang sa mga Hebihanon nga nagpuyo sa Gibeon. Giilog sa Israel ang tanang mga siyudad diha sa gubat.
20 Yahweh caused the people in all those other groups to be stubborn [IDM], with the result that they fought against the Israeli army, and the Israelis killed them all. They were not merciful to any of them. That is what Yahweh had commanded Moses to do.
Kay si Yahweh man ang mipagahi sa ilang mga kasingkasing aron nga mosulong ug makiggubat sila batok sa Israel, aron nga malaglag niya sila sa hingpit, ug aron nga dili sila kaluy-an sama sa iyang gisugo kang Moises.
21 Joshua’s army also fought the Anak people-group who lived in the hills near Hebron, Debir, and Anah [cities]. They also fought against the people who lived in the hilly area of Judah and Israel, and they killed all of those people and destroyed their cities.
Unya miabot si Josue niana nga takna ug gilaglag niya ang Anakim. Gibuhat niya kini sa kabungtoran, diha sa Hebron, Debir, Anab, ug sa tanan nga kabungtoran sa Juda, ug sa tanan nga kabungtoran sa Israel. Gilaglag gayod sila ni Josue lakip na ang ilang mga siyudad.
22 As a result, there were no descendants of Anak who remained alive in Israel. Only a few remained alive in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod [cities].
Wala gayoy kaliwat ni Anak nga nahibilin sa yuta sa Israel gawas lamang sa anaa sa Gaza, Gat, ug Asdod.
23 Joshua’s army took control of all the land, just as Yahweh [long ago] had told Moses to do. Yahweh gave the land to the Israelis, because he had promised to give it to them. Then Joshua divided the land among the Israeli tribes. After that, there was (peace/no more battles) in the land.
Busa nasakop ni Josue ang tibuok yuta, sama sa giingon ni Yahweh kang Moises. Gihatag kini ni Josue ingon nga panulondon sa Israel, nga gigahin sa matag tribo. Unya, mipahulay na ang yuta gikan sa mga panaggubat.
