Job 36
1 Elihu [finished by] saying this:
੧ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਹੂ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 “[Job, ] be patient with me a little longer, because I have something else to teach you. I have something else to say that God [wants you to know].
੨“ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਠਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
3 I will tell you what I have learned from many sources, in order to show that God, my creator, is just/fair.
੩ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ,
4 I am not saying anything to you that is false; I, who am standing in front of you, am someone who understands things (very well/perfectly) [HYP].
੪ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
5 “Hey, God is [very] powerful, and he does not despise anyone, and he understands everything.
੫“ਵੇਖ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਉਹ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਬੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ।
6 He does not allow wicked people to remain alive, and he always acts justly toward those who are poor.
੬ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
7 He always watches over [MTY] those who are righteous; he allows them to sit on thrones [and rule] with kings, and they are honored forever.
੭ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਫੇਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਬਿਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਚੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
8 But if people [who commit crimes] are caught, they [are thrown into prison and] are caused to suffer by being fastened with chains.
੮ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਕੜੇ ਜਾਣ, ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੱਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਣ,
9 When that happens, God shows them what they have done; he shows them the sins that they have committed, and he shows them that they have been proud/arrogant.
੯ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ, ਨਾਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਘਮੰਡੀ ਹਨ।
10 He causes them to listen [MTY] to what he is warning them, and he commands them to turn away from [doing what is] evil.
੧੦ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੜੋ!
11 If they (listen to/heed) him and serve him, [after they get out of prison] they will prosper for all the years that they are alive and be peaceful/happy.
੧੧ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਣ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਨ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
12 But if they do not (listen/pay attention) to him, they will die violently, not knowing [why God is causing them to die].
੧੨ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਨ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਰਨਗੇ!
13 “Godless/Wicked people continue being angry, and they do not cry out for help, [even] when God is punishing them.
੧੩“ਪਰ ਉਹ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ।
14 They die while they are still young, disgraced because of their very immoral behavior [EUP].
੧੪ਉਹ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਖਗਾਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
15 But God teaches people by causing them to suffer; by afflicting them, he causes them to listen to [MTY] what he is telling them.
੧੫ਉਹ ਦੁਖਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
16 “And Job, [I think that] God [wants to] bring you out of your troubles and allow you to live without distress; he wants your table to be full of very nice food.
੧੬ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਜ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਿਕਨਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਰੋਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
17 But now, you are being punished [MTY] as wicked people are punished; [God] [PRS] has been punishing you (justly/as you deserve).
੧੭ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਸਜ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ।
18 So be careful that you are not deceived by [desiring to acquire] money or that you are not ruined by [accepting] large bribes.
੧੮ਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰ, ਕਿਤੇ ਕਹਿਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਠੱਠੇ ਲਈ ਪਰੇਰੇ, ਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਵੇ!
19 [If you are deceived by those things, ] it certainly will not [RHQ] help you to cry out when you are distressed; all of your strength will not help you.
੧੯ਭਲਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਪਵੇਂ?
20 Do not wish that it would be nighttime [in order that God will not see you and punish you], because night is the time when [even] people-groups are destroyed!
੨੦ਉਸ ਰਾਤ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਲੋਚ, ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
21 Be careful not to [begin doing] evil things, because [God] has caused you to suffer to prevent you from doing evil.
੨੧ਚੌਕਸ ਰਹਿ, ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਵੱਲ ਨਾ ਫਿਰ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਇਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
22 “Hey, God is extremely powerful; there is certainly [RHQ] no teacher who teaches like he does.
੨੨“ਵੇਖ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?
23 No one has [RHQ] told him what he should do, and no one has [RHQ] said to him, ‘You have done what is wrong!’
੨੩ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ, ਜਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਗਲਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ?
24 People have [always] sung to praise him, so you also should never forget to praise him for what he has done.
੨੪ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਨਾ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
25 Everyone has seen [what he has done], but [sometimes] we can see it only from far away.
੨੫ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
26 “Hey, God is very great, and we are not able to know how great he is, and we do not know how old he is.
੨੬ਵੇਖ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਰਿਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਹੈ।
27 He draws water up [from the earth and puts it in clouds] and causes it to become rain.
੨੭“ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਖਿੱਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭਾਫ਼ ਤੋਂ ਮੀਂਹ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਵਰ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
28 The rain pours down from the sky/clouds; God causes abundant showers to fall on everyone.
੨੮ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਦਲ ਡੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਾਇਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਰ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
29 No one can [RHQ] understand how the clouds move [across the sky] or how it thunders in the sky where God lives.
੨੯ਭਲਾ, ਕੋਈ ਘਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਫੈਲਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਡਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਰਜਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
30 He causes lightning to flash all around him, but he causes the bottom of the oceans to remain dark.
੩੦ਵੇਖ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਫੈਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਢੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
31 By providing plenty of rain for us, he enables us to have abundant food.
੩੧ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦੇਸ਼-ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਵਾਫ਼ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
32 [It is as though] he holds the lightning in his hands, and [then] he commands it to strike where he wants it to.
੩੨ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗੇ।
33 When we hear his thunder, we know that there will be a storm, and the cattle know it, too.”
੩੩ਉਹ ਦੀ ਕੜਕ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਸ਼ੂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਤ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।”
