Job 34
1 Then Elihu continued:
੧ਤਦ ਅਲੀਹੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
2 “You [three] men who [think that you] [SAR] are very wise, hear me; listen to what I am saying, you men who [say that you] know so much.
੨“ਹੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨੋ! ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੋ, ਹੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲਿਓ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਓ।
3 When we [SYN] hear what other people [like you] say, we [RHQ] think carefully about what they say [to determine what is good and what is bad], like we [SYN] taste food [to determine what is good].
੩ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਕੰਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਭ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ।
4 We need to decide [who is saying] what is right and to determine among ourselves what is good/best.
੪ਜੋ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਚੁਣ ਲਈਏ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਈਏ।
5 Job has said, ‘I am innocent, but God has refused to judge me fairly/justly.
੫“ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅੱਯੂਬ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
6 Even though I have always done what is right, he is lying about me. Even though I have not done what is wrong, he has caused me to suffer, and I will certainly die.’
੬ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਝੂਠਾ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਫੱਟ ਅਸਾਧ ਹੈ।
7 (Is there any person like Job, who insults others as easily as people accept a drink of water?/There is no person like Job, who insults others as easily as people accept a drink of water.) [RHQ]
੭ਅੱਯੂਬ ਵਰਗਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਠੱਠਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
8 He habitually associates with people who do what is evil and spends time with wicked people.
੮ਅਤੇ ਕੁਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ?
9 He has said, ‘It is useless for people to try to please God.’
੯ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਗਨ ਰਹੇ!
10 “So, you men who [claim that you] understand everything, listen to me! Almighty God would never consider doing anything that is wicked or wrong [DOU]!
੧੦“ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨੋ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੋ! ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਪੁਣਾ ਕਰੇ, ਨਾਲੇ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਰੇ!
11 He (pays back/punishes) people for what they have done; he gives them what they deserve for the way that they have conducted their lives.
੧੧ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਾਲ-ਚੱਲਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਫਲ ਦੁਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
12 Truly, Almighty God never does what is wicked; he always [LIT] does what is fair/just.
੧੨ਇਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਪੁਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪੁੱਠੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
13 The authority that he has to rule everything on the earth, no one [RHQ] gave it to him; no one [RHQ] put him in control of the whole world. [He has always had that authority].
੧੩ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ?
14 If he would take his spirit back to himself,
੧੪ਜੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਫੇਰ ਲਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ,
15 everyone would die [immediately], and their corpses would soon become dirt again.
੧੫ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾਤੀ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਫਿਰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
16 “So, [Job], if [you say that you] understand everything, listen to what I am saying.
੧੬“ਜੇ ਸਮਝ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਨ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਲਾ!
17 God could certainly not [RHQ] govern the world if he hated doing what is fair/just. So, will you condemn God, who is righteous and powerful, [saying that what he has done is wrong]?
੧੭ਕੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਵੇਂਗਾ?
18 He tells [some] kings that they are worthless, and he says to [some] officials that they are wicked.
੧੮ਭਲਾ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਨਿਕੰਮਾ ਹੈਂ! ਜਾਂ ਪਤਵੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ?
19 He does not favor rulers [more than he favors others]; he does not favor rich people more than poor people, because he created all of them.
੧੯ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਨਾ ਧਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹਨ!
20 People [often] die suddenly; he strikes them at midnight and they die; he even gets rid of mighty people without the help of any humans [SYN].
੨੦ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਦਮ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਿਲਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਤੇ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਲਾਏ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
21 “He sees [MTY] everything that people do; [when we walk, ] he watches every step that we take.
੨੧“ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
22 There is no gloom or darkness [DOU] that is so dark that sinners can hide [from him] in that darkness.
੨੨ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਜਾਂ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੁਕਰਮੀ ਲੁੱਕ ਜਾਣ,
23 God does not [need to] set a time when we will stand in front of him in order that he may judge us. [He can judge us whenever he wants to].
੨੩ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਵੇਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ, ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੇ।
24 He destroys mighty people without [needing to] investigate [what they have done], and he appoints others to take their places.
੨੪ਉਹ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਦੇ ਚੂਰ-ਚੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
25 Because he [already] knows what they have done, he removes them at night and gets rid of them.
੨੫ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਲੱਦ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭੰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
26 Where [many] people can see it, he strikes/punishes them because of the wicked things that they have done;
੨੬ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
27 he strikes them because they turned away from doing what he wanted them to do and did not pay attention to any of his commands.
੨੭ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ,
28 They [mistreated] the poor people, with the result that those poor people cried out to God [for help], and he heard those afflicted people when they cried out [to him].
੨੮ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਣੀ।
29 But if God decides to do nothing [to punish wicked people], no one can criticize/condemn him. If a godless/wicked man rules a nation, a man who tricks/deceives the people,
੨੯ਜਦ ਉਹ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਫੇਰ ਲਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਪਵੇਗਾ? ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੌਮ ਲਈ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
30 and if [God] hides his face [with the result that he does not see that ruler or punish him], no one will be able to prevent that ruler [from doing those things].
੩੦ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਾਜ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਨਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਲ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸਾਵੇ।
31 “Job, have you or anyone else ever said to God, ‘I have been punished [for my sins], and I will not sin any more;
੩੧“ਭਲਾ, ਕਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਦੰਡ ਝੱਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਫੇਰ ਬਦੀ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ?
32 so teach/show me what [sins I have committed]; if I have done anything that is evil, I will not do it any more’?
੩੨ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾ, ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ?
33 [Job, ] you object to what God has done to you, but do you think that he will do what you want him to do? It is you who must choose [what you say to God], not I; so tell me what you are thinking about this.
੩੩ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਇੱਛਿਆ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਫਲ ਦੇਵੇ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਫਿਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ, ਸੋ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਬੋਲ ਦੇ!
34 “People who have good sense, those who are wise and who listen to what I say, will say to me,
੩੪“ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਹਿਣਗੇ,
35 ‘Job is speaking ignorantly; what he says is nonsense.’
੩੫ਅੱਯੂਬ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਦੇ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬੋਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ!
36 I think that Job should be taken to a court and (put on trial/judged), because he answers [us his friends] like wicked men would answer.
੩੬ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਅੱਯੂਬ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ ਪਰਤਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੁਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ!
37 To add to the [other] sins that he has committed, he is rebelling [against God]; he shows us that he does not respect God [IDM], making long speeches [saying that God has punished him unjustly].”
੩੭ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਤਾੜੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਧਾਈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”
