Jeremiah 51
1 This is what Yahweh says: “I will inspire/motivate [an army] to destroy Babylon [like a powerful] wind [MET], and [also] to destroy the people of Babylonia.
“परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छः ‘हेर्, बेबिलोनको विरुद्धमा र लेब-कमाइमा बस्नेहरूको विरुद्धमा समेत मैले विनाशको हुरीबतासलाई उत्तेजित पार्नै लागेको छु ।
2 I will send a foreign army to come to get rid of Babylonia [like a strong wind] that blows away chaff. They will attack from every direction on that day of disaster.
म बेबिलोनमा विदेशीहरू पठाउनेछु । तिनीहरूले त्यसलाई तितर-बितर पार्नेछन्, र त्यसको देशलाई सर्वनाश गर्नेछन्, किनकि विपत्तिको दिनमा तिनीहरू चारैतिरबाट त्यसको विरुद्धमा आउनेछन् ।
3 [I will tell them, ] ‘Do not allow the archers [of Babylon] to [have time to] put on their armor or draw their bows. Do not spare the young men of Babylon. Completely destroy their army.’
धनुर्धारीहरूलाई आफ्ना धनु तान्न नदेओ । तिनीहरूलाई कवच लगाउन नदेओ । त्यसका युवाहरूलाई नजोगाऊ । त्यसका सम्पूर्ण सेनालाई विनाशको लागि अलग गर ।
4 Their soldiers will fall dead in Babylonia; [they will die after being] wounded in the streets.
किनभने घाइते मानिसहरू कल्दीहरूको देशमा ढल्नेछन् । मारिएकाहरू त्यसका सडकहरूमा ढल्नेछन् ।
5 [I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, the Israelis’ God, have not abandoned Israel and Judah. [Even though] their land was full of people who sinned against [me], the Holy God of Israel, I am still their God.
किनभने इस्राएल र यहूदाको देश इस्राएलका परमपवित्रको विरुद्धमा गरिएको अपराधले भरिएको भए तापनि सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु तिनीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई बिर्सनुभएको छैन ।
6 [You people of Israel and Judah, ] flee from Babylon! Run away from there! Do not stay there and be killed when I punish [the people of Babylon]! It will be the time when I will get revenge; I will do to them what they deserve.
बेबिलोनको बिचबाट भाग । हरेक मानिसलाई आफ्नै ज्यान बचाउन देओ । त्यसको अधर्ममा नष्ट नहोओ । किनकि यो परमप्रभुको बदलको समय हो । त्यसका सबै कुराको बदला उहाँले लिनुहुनेछ ।
7 Babylon has been [like] [MET] a gold cup in my hand, [a cup that is full of wine] that caused people all over the earth [who drank some of it to become] drunk. [It is as though] the [rulers of] the nations drank the wine from Babylon, and it caused them to become crazy.
परमप्रभुको हातमा बेबिलोन एउटा सुनको कचौरा थियो जसले सारा संसारलाई मत्त्याएको थियो । जातिहरूले त्यसको दाखमद्य पिए र बौलाहा भए ।
8 But suddenly Babylon will be conquered. [You foreigners who live in Babylon, ] weep for its people. Give them medicine for their wounds; perhaps they can be healed.”
बेबिलोन अकस्मात् ढल्नेछ, र नष्ट हुनेछ । त्यसको लागि विलाप गर । त्यसको पीडाको लागि औषधी देओ । सायद त्यो निको हुनेछ ।
9 We [foreigners] would have [tried to] heal them, but [now] they cannot be healed. [So we will not try to help them; ] we will abandon them, and return to our own lands, because [it is as though] the punishment they are receiving is so great that it reaches up to the clouds in sky, [so great that no one can measure it].
'हामीले बेबिलोनलाई निको पार्न चाह्यौं, तर त्यो निको भएन । हामी सबैले त्यसलाई छोडौं र हाम्रो आफ्नै देशमा जाऔं । किनकि त्यसको दोष आकाशसम्मै पुगेको छ । यो बादलमा थुप्रिएको छ ।
10 Yahweh has (vindicated us/shown that we were right); [so] let’s proclaim in Jerusalem everything that Yahweh our God has done [for us].
परमप्रभुले हामीलाई निर्दोष घोषणा गर्नुभएको छ । आओ, सियोनमा परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वरका कामहरू बताऔं ।'
11 [You enemy soldiers, ] sharpen your arrows! Lift up your shields, [because] Yahweh has incited your kings of Media [and Persia to march with their armies] to Babylon and to destroy it. That is how Yahweh will get revenge on [those foreigners who entered] his temple [in Jerusalem] and defiled it.
काँडहरू तिखा बनाओ र ढालहरू उठाओ । बेबिलोनलाई नष्ट गर्ने योजनामा परमप्रभुले मादीका राजाको आत्मालाई उत्तेजित पार्दै हुनुहुन्छ । यो परमप्रभुको बदला हो, उहाँको मन्दिरको विनाशको लागि लिइने बदला हो ।
12 Lift up a battle flag close to the walls of Babylon! (Reinforce the/Appoint more) guards, and tell the watchmen to stand [in their positions]! Prepare an ambush, because Yahweh is about to accomplish all that he has planned to do to the people of Babylon.
बेबिलोनका पर्खालहरूमा झण्डा फहराओ । गार्डहरूलाई सजग बनाओ । पहरेदारहरू खडा गर । लुकेर हमला गर्ने ठाउँहरू तयार गर । किनभने बेबिलोनको विषयमा परमप्रभुले जे भन्नुभएको छ, त्यो उहाँले गर्नुहुनेछ ।
13 Babylon is [a city] near the great [Euphrates] River, a city in which there are many rich people, but it is time for Babylon to be finished; the time [for the city] to exist is ended.
ए धेरै पानी भएको ठाउँनेर बस्ने मानिसहरू हो, ए धेरै धन-सम्पत्ति भएका मानिसहरू हो, तिमीहरूको अन्त्य आएको छ । तिमीहरूको जीवनको धागो अब काटेर छोटो पारिएको छ ।
14 The Commander of the armies of angels has solemnly promised, using his own name, “Your cities will be filled with your enemies; I will cause them to be like [SIM] a swarm of locusts; and they will shout triumphantly [when they conquer your city].”
सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुले आफ्नै जीवनको शपथ खानुभएको छ, ‘सलहको हुलझैं म तिमीहरूका बिचमा मानिसहरूले भर्नेछु, र तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूको विरुद्धमा युद्धको सोर निकाल्ने छन् ।’
15 Yahweh created the earth by his power; he established it by his wisdom, and he stretched out the sky by his understanding.
उहाँले आफ्नै शक्तिले पृथ्वी बनाउनुभएको छ । उहाँले आफ्नै बुद्धिले संसारलाई त्यसको ठाउँमा राख्नुभयो । उहाँले आफ्नो समझशक्तिद्वारा उहाँले आकाशलाई तान्नुभयो ।
16 When he speaks loudly, there is thunder in the sky; he causes clouds to form in every part of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and releases the winds from his storehouses.
उहाँ गर्जनुहुँदा आकाशमा पानीको गड्याङगुडुङ हुन्छ, किनकि उहाँले पृथ्वीको छेउबाट तुवाँलो ल्याउनुहुन्छ । उहाँले वर्षाको लागि बिजुली चम्काउनुहुन्छ, र आफ्नो भण्डारहरूबाट बतास पठाउनुहुन्छ ।
17 People are senseless, and they know very little [HYP]; those who make idols are [always] disappointed, because their idols [do nothing for them]. The images/statues that they make are not real [gods]; they are lifeless.
हरेक मानिस ज्ञानविना अज्ञानी भएको छ । हरेक सुनार उसका मूर्तिहरूद्वारा लाजमा पारिएको छ । किनभने उसले ढालेर बनाएका प्रतिमूर्तिहरू झूटा हुन्, र तिनमा जीवन हुँदैन ।
18 Idols are worthless; they deserve to be ridiculed; there will be a time when they will [all] be destroyed.
ती बेकम्मा छन् । ती गिल्ला गर्नेहरूका काम हुन् । तिनीहरूको दण्डको समयमा ती नष्ट हुनेछन् ।
19 But the God whom [we] Israelis [worship] is not like those [idols]; he is the one who created everything [that exists]; [we], the people of Israel, belong to him; his name is ‘the Commander of the armies of angels’.
तर परमेश्वर जो याकूबको हिस्सा हुनुहुन्छ, उहाँ यीजस्ता हुनुहुन्न, किनकि उहाँले नै सबै थोक बनाउनुहुन्छ । इस्राएल उहाँको उत्तराधिकारको कुल हो । सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु उहाँको नाउँ हो ।
20 Yahweh says [about the army of Babylonia] (OR, [about a nation that will attack Babylonia)], “You have been [like] [MET] my battle-axe and war-club; with your [power] I have shattered nations and destroyed [many] kingdoms.
तँ मेरो युद्धको घन, युद्धको लागि मेरो हतियार हो । तँद्वारा नै म जातिहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु, र राज्यहरूलाई नष्ट पार्नेछु ।
21 With your [power] I have shattered armies [of other nations]: I destroyed [their] horses and their riders, [their] chariots and [their] chariot-drivers.
तँद्वारा नै म घोडाहरू र तिनमा सवार हुनेहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु । तँद्वारा नै म रथहरू र सारथीहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु ।
22 With your [power] I shattered men and women, old people and children, young men and young women.
तँद्वारा नै म हरेक पुरुष र स्त्रीलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु । तँद्वारा नै म पाकाहरू र बालबालिकालाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु । तँद्वारा नै म युवाहरू र कन्या केटीहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु ।
23 With your [power] I shattered shepherds and their flocks [of sheep], farmers and their oxen, governors and [their] officials.”
तँद्वारा नै म गोठालाहरू र तिनीहरूका बगालहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु । तँद्वारा नै म जोत्ने मानिसहरू र तिनीहरूको समूहलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु । तँद्वारा नै म गभर्नरहरू र अधिकारीहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नेछु ।
24 But, Yahweh [also] says, “[Soon] I will repay/punish [you] people in Babylon and in the rest of Babylonia for all the evil things that you have done in Jerusalem.
तैंले देख्ने गरी म बेबिलोन र कल्दीका सबै बासिन्दालाई बदला लिनेछु, किनकि तिनीहरूले सियोनमा सारा किसिमका दुष्ट काम गरेका छन्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
25 [Babylonia is] [APO] like [MET] a great mountain [from which bandits descend] to (plunder/steal things from) people all over the earth. But I, Yahweh, am the enemy of you [people of Babylonia]. I will raise my fist to strike you. I will knock you down from the cliffs and cause you to be [only] a huge pile of burned rubble.
ए विनाशको पहाड, म तेरो विरुद्धमा छु जसले सारा पृथ्वीलाई नष्ट पार्छ, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो । तेरो विरुद्धमा म आफ्नो हात पसार्नेछु, र तँलाई भिरबाट तल खसाल्नेछु, र तँलाई डढेलो लागेको पहाड तुल्याउनेछु ।
26 Your [city] will be abandoned forever; [even] the stones in your [city] will never [again] be used for buildings. [Your city will be completely destroyed].”
त्यसैले तिनीहरूले भवनको कुने-ढुङ्गो वा जग बसाल्न तँबाट कुनै कुनै ढुङ्गा लिनेछैनन् । किनकि तँ सदाको निम्ति सर्वानाश हुनेछस्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
27 [Tell] the nations to lift up a battle flag! [Tell them to] shout the battle-cry! Gather all their armies to fight against Babylon! Prepare the nations to attack Babylon. Summon [the armies of] the kingdoms [north of Babylonia]—from Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz. Appoint a commander for them, and bring [a great number of] horses; [there must be a huge number of horses]; that [huge number] will resemble [SIM] a swarm of locusts.
पृथ्वीमा झण्ड फहराओ । जातिहरूका बिचमा तुरही फुक । त्यसलाई आक्रमण गर्न जातिहरू अर्थात् आरारात, मिन्नी र अशकनजलाई बोलाओ । त्यसलाई आक्रमण गर्न कमान्डर नियुक्त गर । सलहहरूको हुलझैं घोडाहरू ल्याओ ।
28 Prepare the [armies of other nations], armies that will be led by the kings of Media [and Persia], their governors and [their] officials.
त्यसलाई आक्रमण गर्न जातिहरूलाई तयार पार । मादीका राजाहरू, त्यसका गभर्नरहरू, त्यसका सबै अधिकारी र त्यसले शासन गरेका सबै देशलाई तयार पार ।
29 [When they attack Babylon, it will be as though] the earth will shake and writhe [in pain], because [those armies] will accomplish everything that Yahweh has planned to do to Babylon; they will destroy it completely, [with the result that] no one will live there [again].
किनकि देश हल्लिनेछ, र वेदनामा हुनेछ, किनकि कुनै बासिन्दा नबस्ने गरी बेबिलोनको देशलाई उजाड पार्ने परमप्रभुका योजनाहरू बेबिलोनका विरुद्धमा जारी छन् ।
30 [When their enemies attack], the strongest warriors in Babylon will not fight. They will remain in their barracks, without any strength. They will be as timid/weak as [SIM] women. [The enemy soldiers] will burn the buildings in the city and pull down the bars [of the city gates].
बेबिलोनका सिपाहीहरूले लडाइँ गर्न रोकेका छन् । तिनीहरू आ-आफ्ना किल्लाहरूमा बस्छन् । तिनीहरूको ताकत हराएर गएको छ । तिनीहरू स्त्रीझैं भएका छन् । त्यसका घरहरू आगो लगाइएका छन्, र त्यसका मूल ढोकाका गजबारहरू भाँचिएका छन् ।
31 Messengers will go quickly, one after another, to tell the king that his city has been captured.
बेबिलोनका राजाको सहरको एउटा छेउदेखि अर्को छेउसम्म कब्जा गरिएको छ भनी राजालाई सुनाउन एउटा समाचारवाहक अर्को समाचारवाहककहाँ दौडन्छ, र एउटा धावकले अर्को धावकलाई बताउँछ ।
32 The places at which people can cross the river [to escape from the city] will be blocked. The dry reeds in the marshes/swamps will be set on fire, and the soldiers of Babylon will be terrified.
नदीका जँघारहरू कब्जा गरिएका छन् । शत्रुले सिमसारहरूमा आगो लगाउँदैछ, र बेबिलोनका योद्धाहरू अलमलमा पारिएका छन् ।”
33 This is what the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], says; “Babylon is like [SIM] wheat on the ground where it is about to be threshed by [animals] tramping on it. Very soon [their enemies] will trample on [the city of] Babylon [MET].”
किनकि सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वर यसो भन्नुहुन्छः बेबिलोनकी छोरी खलाजस्तै छे । यो त्यसलाई कुल्चने समय हो । केही क्षणमा नै त्यसको कटनीको समय आउनेछ ।
34 [The army of] Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, has attacked and crushed us [Israeli people], and we have no strength [left]. [It is as though] they have swallowed us like a [great] monster that filled its belly with all our tasty parts, and then has spit out [what it did not like].
'बेबिलोनका राजा नबूकदनेसरले मलाई खाएको छ, उसले मलाई अलमलमा पारेको छ, र मलाई रित्तो भाँडो बनाएको छ । राक्षसले झैं त्यसले मलाई निलेको छ । मेरा स्वादिष्ट खानाले त्यसले आफ्नो पेट भरेको छ, र त्यसले मलाई बान्ता गरेर फालेको छ ।'
35 [So] the people of [PRS] Jerusalem say [to Yahweh], “Cause the people of Babylon to suffer like they caused us to suffer! Cause the people of Babylonia to be punished for killing [MTY] our people!”
सियोनमा बस्नेले भन्छ, 'म र मेरो विरुद्धमा गरिएको हिंसा बेबिलोनमाथि नै परोस् ।' यरूशलेमले भन्नेछ, 'मेरो रगत कल्दीका बासिन्दाहरूमाथि परोस्' ।”
36 And this is what Yahweh replies to the people of Jerusalem: “I will [be like your lawyer to] defend you, and I will avenge you. I will dry up the river in Babylon and [all] the springs of water.
त्यसकारण परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छः हेर्, मैले तेरो पक्ष लिन र तेरो लागि बदला लिन लागेको छु । किनकि म बेबिलोनको नदी सुकानेछु, र त्यसका पानीका मुहानहरू सुक्खा तुल्यानेछु ।
37 Babylon will become a heap of ruins, a place where jackals/wolves live. It will become a place that people are horrified about and will ridicule; it will be a place where no one lives.
बेबिलोन भग्नावशेषको थुप्रो, स्यालहरू ओडार, त्रास र गिल्लाको पात्र हुनेछ, जहाँ कोही बासिन्दा छैन ।
38 The people of Babylon will [all] roar like young lions; they will growl like baby lions.
बेबिलोनीहरू जवान सिंहहरूजस्तै गर्जन्छन् । तिनीहरू सिंहका बच्चाहरूजस्तै कराउँछन् ।
39 But while they are extremely hungry, I will prepare a [different kind of] feast for them. [It is as though] I will cause them to drink wine until they are very drunk, [with the result that] they will fall asleep. But they will never wake up from that sleep!
तिनीहरू लोभले रिसाउँदा म तिनीहरूका निम्ति भोज तयार पार्नेछु । म तिनीहरूलाई मत्त्याउनेछु, यसैले कि तिनीहरू खुसी हुनेछन्, र तिनीहरू चिर निद्रामा सुत्नेछन्, अनि बिउँझने छैनन्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो—
40 I will bring them down to a place where they will be slaughtered, like [SIM] [someone who takes] lambs or rams or goats [to where they will be slaughtered for sacrifices].
म तिनीहरूलाई मारिनलाई लगिएका थुमाहरू, बोकाहरूसँगै भेडाहरूझैं तल पठाउनेछु ।
41 People all over the earth [now] (honor/praise) Babylon; they say that it is a great city. But I will cause it to become a [place about which people of all] nations are horrified.
कसरी बेबिलोनलाई कब्जा गरिएको छ! सारा पृथ्वीको प्रशंसा पक्राउमा परेको छ । कसरी बेबिलोन जातिहरूका बिचमा भग्नावशेषको ठाउँ भएको छ!
42 The [enemies of Babylon] will cover the city [like] huge waves of the sea [DOU].
बेबिलोनको माथि समुद्र आएको छ । यसका उर्लंदा छालहरूले त्यो ढाकिएको छ ।
43 The towns in Babylonia will become ruins, Babylonia will become a dry desert area. It will be a land in which no one lives and which no one walks through.
त्यसका सहरहरू उजाड, सुक्खा भूमि र मरुभूमि भएका छन्, जहाँ कोही बस्दैन, र कुनै मानिस त्यताबाट जाँदैन ।
44 And I will punish Bel, [the god that the people] of Babylon [worship], and I will cause the people to give back what they have stolen [MET]. [People of other] nations will no longer come to [worship] Bel. And the walls of Babylon will collapse.”
त्यसैले म बेबिलोनमा नै बेललाई दण्ड दिनेछु । त्यसले आफ्नो मुखमा जे निलेको थियो, त्यो म बाहिर निकाल्नेछु, र जातिहरूले आ-आफ्ना उपहारहरू लिएर फेरि त्यसकहाँ ओइरिने छैनन् । बेबिलोनका पर्खालहरू ढल्नेछन् ।
45 [Yahweh also says, ] “My people, come out of Babylon! Run away from there! Run, because [I], Yahweh, am extremely angry [MTY] [with the people of Babylon, and I will get rid of them]!
ए मेरा मानिसहरू हो, त्यसको बिचबाट बाहिर जाओ । मेरो क्रोधको ज्वालाबाट तिमीहरू हरेले आफ्नो प्राण बचाओ ।
46 Do not be discouraged/worried [IDM] or afraid when you hear reports [about what is happening in Babylon]. People will report rumors like that every year, rumors about violent things being done in the land, and rumors about leaders fighting against each other.
देशमा सुनिएको खबरले तिमीहरूको हृदयमा डर वा भय नहोस्, किनकि खबर एक वर्षसम्म आउनेछ । यसपछि अर्को वर्ष देशमा खबर र हिंसा हुनेछ । शासक शासकको विरुद्धमा हुनेछ ।
47 But it will soon be the time for me to get rid of the idols in Babylon. [People all over] the land will be ashamed [because of being defeated]; and the corpses of their [soldiers] will lie in the streets.
त्यसकारण, हेर, यस्ता दिनहरू आउँदैछन्, जति बेला म बेबिलोनका खोपेर बनाइएका मूर्तिहरूलाई दण्ड दिनेछु । त्यसका सारा देश लाजमा पर्नेछन्, र त्यसका मारिएकाहरू सबै त्यसकै बिचमा ढल्नेछन् ।
48 Then all [the angels in] heaven and all the [people on] [PRS] the earth will rejoice, because from the north will come [armies] that will destroy Babylon.
त्यसपछि स्वर्ग र पृथ्वी अनि तिनमा भएका सबै कुराले बेबिलोनमाथि रमाहट गर्नेछन् । किनकि त्यसका विनाशकहरू उत्तरबाट आउनेछन्— यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
49 Like [the soldiers of Babylon] killed the people of Israel and [also] killed others all over the world [HYP], [the people of] Babylon must also be killed.
जसरी बेबिलोनले इस्राएलका मारिएकाहरूलाई ढालेको छ, त्यसरी नै त्यस देशका मारिएकाहरू बेबिलोनमा ढल्नेछन् ।
50 You [Israeli people] who have not been killed [MTY], get out of Babylon! Do not wait! [Even though you are in a land] far away [from Israel], think about Yahweh, and think about Jerusalem!”
तरवारबाट बाँचेकाहरू हो, जाओ । अझै नबस । टाढा-टाढाबाट मनले परमप्रभुलाई पुकार । यरूशलेमको सम्झना गरियोस् ।
51 [The Israeli people say], “We are ashamed. We are completely disgraced [DOU], because foreigners have entered Yahweh’s temple [and (defiled it/caused it to become unfit for worship)].”
हामी लज्जित छौं, किनकि हामीले अपमान सुनेका छौं । निन्दाले हाम्रा मुहार ढाकेको छ, किनकि विदेशीहरू परमप्रभुको मन्दिरको पवित्रस्थानमा छिरेका छन् ।
52 Yahweh replies, “[That is true], but there will soon be a time when I will destroy the idols in Babylon, and throughout Babylonia there will be wounded people who will groan.
त्यसकारण, हेर्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, यस्ता दिनहरू आउँदैछन्, जति बेला म त्यसका खोपेर बनाइएका मूर्तिहरूलाई दण्ड दिनेछु, र त्यस देशका चारैतिर घाइते मानिसहरू पीडामा कराउनेछन् ।
53 Even if [the walls around] Babylon could extend up to the sky, and if its walls/fortifications were extremely strong, I will send [armies] that will destroy the city. [That will surely happen because I, ] Yahweh, have said it.”
किनकि बेबिलोन स्वर्गसम्मै उक्ले वा त्यसका अग्ला-अग्ला किल्लाहरूलाई मजबुत बनाए तापनि, मबाट त्यसकहाँ विनाशकहरू आउनेछन्— यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
54 Listen to [the people of] Babylon crying [for help]! And listen to the sounds of things being destroyed all over Babylonia!
बेबिलोनबाट निराशाको चित्कार, कल्दीहरूको देशबाट ठुलो विनाश आयो ।
55 Yahweh will be destroying Babylon. He will cause the loud noises in the city to cease.
किनकि परप्रभुले बेबिलोनलाई नाश पार्दै हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँले त्यसको ठुलो सोरलाई नष्ट पार्दै हुनुहुन्छ । तिनीहरूका शत्रुहरू धेरै पानीको छालझैं गर्जन्छन् । तिनीहरूको हल्ला अत्यन्तै बलियो हुन्छ ।
56 Enemy troops will surge against the city like [SIM] a great wave. They will capture the city’s mighty soldiers and break their weapons. [That will happen] because Yahweh is a God who punishes [his enemies] justly; he will punish them as they deserve.
किनकि विनाशकहरू बेबिलोनको विरुद्धमा आएका छन्, र त्यसका योद्धाहरू कब्जामा परेका छन् । तिनीहरूका धनुहरू भाँचिएका छन्, किनकि परमप्रभु बदलाको परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँले निश्चय नै यो बदला लिनु नै हुनेछ ।
57 The king, the Commander of the armies of angels says, “I will cause the city officials and wise men, the army captains and soldiers [in Babylon] to become drunk. They will fall asleep, but they will never wake up [again]!”
किनकि म त्यसका राजकुमारहरू, बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरू, अधिकारीहरू र सिपाहीहरूलाई मत्त्याउनेछु, र तिनीहरू चिर निद्रामा सुत्नेछन् अनि कहिलै बिउँझने छैनन्—द यो महाराजाको घोषणा होः उहाँको नाउँ सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु हो ।
58 Yahweh also says, “The thick walls around Babylon will be flattened to the ground. The city gates will be burned. People [from other countries] will work hard [to save the city], but it will be (in vain/useless), because everything [that they have built] will be destroyed by fire.”
सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छः बेबिलोनका चौडा पर्खालहरू पूर्ण रूपमा भत्काइनेछन्, र त्यसका अग्ला-अग्ला मूल ढोकाहरू जलाइनेछन् । तब त्यसलाई सहयोग गर्न आउने मानिसहरूले व्यर्थैमा परिश्रम गर्नेछन् । जातिहरूले त्यसको लागि गर्न खोज्ने हरेक कुरो जलाइनेछ ।”
59 Seraiah was the man who made arrangements for the King of Babylon [whenever he traveled]. He was the son of Neraiah and grandson of Mahseiah. When he was about to go to Babylon with King Zedekiah, after Zedekiah had been ruling Judah for almost four years, the prophet Jeremiah gave him a message.
यहूदाका राजा सिदकियाहले राज्य सुरु गरेको चौथो वर्षमा तिनी बेबिलोनमा जाँदा यर्मिया अगमवक्ताले महसेयाहका नाति, नेरियाहका छोरा सरायाहलाई आज्ञा दिएका वचन यही हो । यति बेला सरायाह मुख्य अधिकारी थिए ।
60 Jeremiah had written on a scroll a list of all the disasters that he had written about, disasters that would soon occur in Babylon.
बेबिलोनमाथि आउन लागेका सबै विपत्तिको विषयमा यर्मियाले एउटा मुट्ठोमा लेखेका थिए । यी सबै वचन बेबिलोनको विषयमा लेखिएका थिए ।
61 He said to Seraiah, “When you arrive in Babylon, read [aloud] everything that I have written [on this scroll].
यर्मियाले सरायाहलाई भने, “तपाईं बेबिलोन जानुहुँदा तपाईंले यी वचन हेर्नुहुनेछ, र तपाईंले यी वचन चर्को सोरमा पढ्नुहुनेछ ।
62 Then pray, ‘Yahweh, you said that you will thoroughly destroy Babylon, with the result that people and animals will no [longer] live there. You said that it will be desolate forever.’
तब तपाईंले भन्नुहुनेछ, 'हे परमप्रभु, यस ठाउँलाई नष्ट गर्नेछु, र कुनै मानिस वा पशु यस ठाउँमा बस्नेछैन, र यो सदाको लागि उजाड हुनेछ भनी तपाईं आफैले घोषणा गर्नुभएको छ ।'
63 [Then], when you have finished reading [what I have written on] the scroll, tie it to a [heavy] stone and throw it into the Euphrates [River].
तब तपाईंले यस मुट्ठाको वचनलाई पढेर सिद्ध्याउनुहुन्छ, तब यसमा एउटा ढुङ्गा बाँध्नुहोस् र यसलाई यूफ्रेटिस नदीको बिचमा फाल्नुहोस् ।
64 Then say, ‘In the same way, Babylon [and its people] will disappear and never exist again, because of the disasters that Yahweh will cause to occur there’” That is the end of Jeremiah’s messages.
यसो भन्नुहोस्, 'बेबिलोन यसरी नै डुब्नेछ । मैले यसको विरुद्धमा ल्याइरहेको विपत्तिको कारण यो उठनेछैन, र यसको पतन हुनेछ' ।” यर्मियाका वचनहरू यहाँ समाप्त हुन्छन् ।
