Jeremiah 51
1 This is what Yahweh says: “I will inspire/motivate [an army] to destroy Babylon [like a powerful] wind [MET], and [also] to destroy the people of Babylonia.
१परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, पाहा, मी बाबेलावर आणि लेब-कामाईत जे कोणी राहतात त्यांच्याविरुद्ध विध्वंसक वाऱ्याने खळबळ उडवीन.
2 I will send a foreign army to come to get rid of Babylonia [like a strong wind] that blows away chaff. They will attack from every direction on that day of disaster.
२मी बाबेलाकडे परदेशीय पाठवीन. ते तिला पाखडून काढतील आणि तिचा देश उध्वस्त करतील, कारण ते तिला अरिष्टाच्या दिवशी चहूकडून तिच्याविरूद्ध होतील.
3 [I will tell them, ] ‘Do not allow the archers [of Babylon] to [have time to] put on their armor or draw their bows. Do not spare the young men of Babylon. Completely destroy their army.’
३तिरंदाजाने आपले धनुष्य वाकवू नये; त्यांनी चिलखते घालू नये. तिच्या तरुणांना वाचवू नको. तिच्या सर्व सैन्याला विध्वंसकाच्या हवाली कर.
4 Their soldiers will fall dead in Babylonia; [they will die after being] wounded in the streets.
४कारण जखमी लोक खास्द्यांच्या भूमीत पडतील. वधलेले तिच्या रस्त्यांवर पडतील.
5 [I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, the Israelis’ God, have not abandoned Israel and Judah. [Even though] their land was full of people who sinned against [me], the Holy God of Israel, I am still their God.
५कारण जरी इस्राएलाच्या पवित्र प्रभूविरूद्ध केलेल्या अपराधांनी त्यांचा देश भरून गेला आहे, तरी इस्राएलास व यहूदास, त्यांचा देव सेनाधीश परमेश्वर याने त्यांना सोडले नाही.
6 [You people of Israel and Judah, ] flee from Babylon! Run away from there! Do not stay there and be killed when I punish [the people of Babylon]! It will be the time when I will get revenge; I will do to them what they deserve.
६बाबेलामधून पळून जा. प्रत्येक मनुष्याने आपणास वाचवावे. तिच्या अन्यायात नष्ट होऊ नये. कारण परमेश्वराचा सूड घेण्याचा समय आहे. तो तिला तिचे सर्व प्रतिफळ भरून देईल.
7 Babylon has been [like] [MET] a gold cup in my hand, [a cup that is full of wine] that caused people all over the earth [who drank some of it to become] drunk. [It is as though] the [rulers of] the nations drank the wine from Babylon, and it caused them to become crazy.
७बाबेल परमेश्वराच्या हातातील सोन्याचा पेला होता, तिने सर्व देशाला धुंद केले आहे. राष्ट्रे तिचा द्राक्षरस प्याली आणि ते विवेकशून्य झाले.
8 But suddenly Babylon will be conquered. [You foreigners who live in Babylon, ] weep for its people. Give them medicine for their wounds; perhaps they can be healed.”
८बाबेल अकस्मात पडेल आणि नाश होईल. त्याची शकले पडतील. तिच्यासाठी शोक करा. तिच्या वेदनेसाठी तिला औषध द्या. कदाचित् ती बरी होईल.
9 We [foreigners] would have [tried to] heal them, but [now] they cannot be healed. [So we will not try to help them; ] we will abandon them, and return to our own lands, because [it is as though] the punishment they are receiving is so great that it reaches up to the clouds in sky, [so great that no one can measure it].
९बाबेल बरी होण्याची आमची इच्छा होती, पण ती बरी झाली नाही, चला आपण सर्व तिला सोडून व दूर आपल्या देशात जाऊ. कारण तिचा गुन्हा आकाशास पोहचला आहे; त्याचा आभाळापर्यंत ढीग झाला आहे.
10 Yahweh has (vindicated us/shown that we were right); [so] let’s proclaim in Jerusalem everything that Yahweh our God has done [for us].
१०परमेश्वराने आपली नितीमत्ता जाहीर केली आहे. या, परमेश्वर आमचा देव याची कृत्ये आपण सीयोनांत सांगू या.
11 [You enemy soldiers, ] sharpen your arrows! Lift up your shields, [because] Yahweh has incited your kings of Media [and Persia to march with their armies] to Babylon and to destroy it. That is how Yahweh will get revenge on [those foreigners who entered] his temple [in Jerusalem] and defiled it.
११बाण धारदार करा! ढाली घ्या. परमेश्वराने माद्य राजाचा आत्म्यास चिथावणी दिली आहे कारण बाबेलाचा नाश करावा अशी त्याची योजना होती. कारण हा परमेश्वराकडून सूड आहे, त्याचे मंदिर उध्वस्त केल्याबद्दलचा सूड आहे.
12 Lift up a battle flag close to the walls of Babylon! (Reinforce the/Appoint more) guards, and tell the watchmen to stand [in their positions]! Prepare an ambush, because Yahweh is about to accomplish all that he has planned to do to the people of Babylon.
१२बाबेलाच्या तटासमोर झेंडा उभारा. पहारा बळकट करा. पहारेकरी ठेवा; जे कोणी नगरातून पळून येतील त्यांना पकडण्यासाठी सैनिकांना लपवा, कारण परमेश्वराने बाबेलाच्या रहिवाश्याविरूद्ध जी योजना करून सांगितले ते त्याने केलेच आहे.
13 Babylon is [a city] near the great [Euphrates] River, a city in which there are many rich people, but it is time for Babylon to be finished; the time [for the city] to exist is ended.
१३तुम्ही लोक जे बहुत पाण्याच्या प्रवाहाजवळ राहतात, जे तुम्ही लोक खजिन्यांनी धनवान आहात, तुझा शेवट आला आहे. तुझ्या आयुष्याची दोरी आता संक्षीप्त केली आहे.
14 The Commander of the armies of angels has solemnly promised, using his own name, “Your cities will be filled with your enemies; I will cause them to be like [SIM] a swarm of locusts; and they will shout triumphantly [when they conquer your city].”
१४सेनाधीश परमेश्वराने आपल्याच जीविताची शपथ वाहिली आहे की, “टोळाच्या पीडेप्रमाणे, मी तुला तुझ्या शत्रूंनी भरीन.” ते तुझ्याविरूद्ध युद्धाची आरोळी करतील.
15 Yahweh created the earth by his power; he established it by his wisdom, and he stretched out the sky by his understanding.
१५त्याने पृथ्वी आपल्या सामर्थ्याने निर्माण केली, त्याने आपल्या ज्ञानाने कोरडी भूमी स्थापिली आपल्या बुद्धीने आकाश पसरिले;
16 When he speaks loudly, there is thunder in the sky; he causes clouds to form in every part of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and releases the winds from his storehouses.
१६जेव्हा तो गरजतो, तेव्हा आकाशात पाण्याचा गडगडाट होतो, कारण तो पृथ्वीच्या शेवटापासून धुके वर आणतो. तो पावसासाठी वीजा निर्माण करतो आणि आपल्या कोठारातून वारा काढून पाठवतो.
17 People are senseless, and they know very little [HYP]; those who make idols are [always] disappointed, because their idols [do nothing for them]. The images/statues that they make are not real [gods]; they are lifeless.
१७प्रत्येक मनुष्य पशूसारखा ज्ञानहीन झाला आहे; प्रत्येक धातु कारागीर आपल्या मूर्तीमुळे लज्जित झाला आहे. कारण त्याच्या ओतीव मूर्ती खोट्या आहेत. तेथे त्यांच्यात जीवन नाही.
18 Idols are worthless; they deserve to be ridiculed; there will be a time when they will [all] be destroyed.
१८त्या निरुपयोगी आहेत, त्या चेष्टेचे काम आहे. त्यांच्या शिक्षेच्या दिवशी त्या नष्ट होतील.
19 But the God whom [we] Israelis [worship] is not like those [idols]; he is the one who created everything [that exists]; [we], the people of Israel, belong to him; his name is ‘the Commander of the armies of angels’.
१९पण देव, याकोबाचा हिस्सा, त्यासारखा नाही, कारण तो सर्व गोष्टींचा निर्माणकर्ता आहे. इस्राएल त्याच्या वतनाचा वंश आहे; त्याचे नाव सेनाधीश परमेश्वर आहे.
20 Yahweh says [about the army of Babylonia] (OR, [about a nation that will attack Babylonia)], “You have been [like] [MET] my battle-axe and war-club; with your [power] I have shattered nations and destroyed [many] kingdoms.
२०तू माझा लढाईचा हातोडा आहेस, माझे लढाईचे हत्यार आहेस. तुझ्याबरोबर मी राष्ट्रांना मोडून तुकडे तुकडे करीन आणि राज्यांचा नाश करीन.
21 With your [power] I have shattered armies [of other nations]: I destroyed [their] horses and their riders, [their] chariots and [their] chariot-drivers.
२१तुझ्याबरोबर मी घोडे आणि त्यांचे स्वार त्यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन, तुझ्याबरोबर मी त्यांचे रथ आणि सारथी ह्यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन.
22 With your [power] I shattered men and women, old people and children, young men and young women.
२२तुझ्याबरोबर मी प्रत्येक पुरुष आणि स्त्रिया यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन; तुझ्याबरोबर मी वृद्ध आणि तरुण यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन. तुझ्याबरोबर मी तरुण पुरुष आणि कुमारी मुलगी यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन.
23 With your [power] I shattered shepherds and their flocks [of sheep], farmers and their oxen, governors and [their] officials.”
२३तुझ्याबरोबर मी मेंढपाळ व त्याचे कळप यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन; तुझ्याबरोबर मी शेतकरी आणि त्यांच्या बैलांची जोडी यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन. तुझ्याबरोबर मी राज्यकर्ते व अधिकारी यांचे तुकडे तुकडे करीन.
24 But, Yahweh [also] says, “[Soon] I will repay/punish [you] people in Babylon and in the rest of Babylonia for all the evil things that you have done in Jerusalem.
२४परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, मी बाबेलाला व खास्द्यांच्या देशातल्या सर्व राहणाऱ्यांनी जे अनिष्ट त्यांनी तुमच्या समक्ष सियोनेत केले आहे त्या सर्वांचे फळ भरून देईन.
25 [Babylonia is] [APO] like [MET] a great mountain [from which bandits descend] to (plunder/steal things from) people all over the earth. But I, Yahweh, am the enemy of you [people of Babylonia]. I will raise my fist to strike you. I will knock you down from the cliffs and cause you to be [only] a huge pile of burned rubble.
२५परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “हे नाश करणाऱ्या पर्वता तू जो दुसऱ्यांचा नाश करतो, मी तुझ्याविरूद्ध आहे, सर्व पृथ्वीचा नाश करतो. मी आपल्या हाताने तुला तडाखा देईल आणि तुला कड्यांवरुन खाली लोटून देईन. मग बेचिराख झालेल्या पर्वताप्रमाणे मी तुला करीन.
26 Your [city] will be abandoned forever; [even] the stones in your [city] will never [again] be used for buildings. [Your city will be completely destroyed].”
२६म्हणून ते तुझ्यामधून इमारतीच्या कोपऱ्यासाठी किंवा पायासाठी एकही दगड तोडून घेणार नाहीत; कारण तुझा कायमचा विध्वंस होईल.” असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
27 [Tell] the nations to lift up a battle flag! [Tell them to] shout the battle-cry! Gather all their armies to fight against Babylon! Prepare the nations to attack Babylon. Summon [the armies of] the kingdoms [north of Babylonia]—from Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz. Appoint a commander for them, and bring [a great number of] horses; [there must be a huge number of horses]; that [huge number] will resemble [SIM] a swarm of locusts.
२७पृथ्वीवर निशाण उंच करा. राष्ट्रांमध्ये कर्णा फुंका. तिच्यावर हल्ला करण्यासाठी राष्ट्रांना नेमा. तिच्याविरूद्ध अरारात, मिन्नी, आष्कनाज या राज्यांना एकत्र बोलवा, तिच्याविरूद्ध हल्ला करण्यास सेनापतीची निवड करा. विक्राळ टोळांप्रमाणे घोडे येऊ द्या.
28 Prepare the [armies of other nations], armies that will be led by the kings of Media [and Persia], their governors and [their] officials.
२८तिच्याविरूद्ध हल्ला करण्यासाठी राष्ट्रे माद्यांचे राजे, त्यांचे सर्व अधिपती आणि राज्याच्या अंमलाखालचा सर्व देश सिद्ध करा.
29 [When they attack Babylon, it will be as though] the earth will shake and writhe [in pain], because [those armies] will accomplish everything that Yahweh has planned to do to Babylon; they will destroy it completely, [with the result that] no one will live there [again].
२९भूमी हालेल व यातना होतील, कारण बाबेल देश उजाड, निर्जन करण्याचे परमेश्वराचे बाबेलाविरूद्धच्या ठरून योजना सिद्धीस जात आहेत.
30 [When their enemies attack], the strongest warriors in Babylon will not fight. They will remain in their barracks, without any strength. They will be as timid/weak as [SIM] women. [The enemy soldiers] will burn the buildings in the city and pull down the bars [of the city gates].
३०बाबेलात सैनिक लढाई करायचे थांबले आहेत. ते त्यांच्या बालेकिल्ल्यात राहत आहेत. त्यांची शक्ती संपली आहे; ते स्त्रिया असे झाले आहेत. तिची घरे पेटवली आहेत, तिच्या वेशीच्या दारांचे अडसर मोडले आहेत.
31 Messengers will go quickly, one after another, to tell the king that his city has been captured.
३१बाबेलाच्या राजाला त्याचे नगर सर्वस्वी काबीज झाले आहे हे सांगण्यासाठी एका दूतामागून दुसरा दूत आणि एक जासूद दुसऱ्या जासूदाला सांगण्यास धावत आहेत.
32 The places at which people can cross the river [to escape from the city] will be blocked. The dry reeds in the marshes/swamps will be set on fire, and the soldiers of Babylon will be terrified.
३२नदीचे उतार जप्त झाले आहेत. शत्रू किल्ले जाळत आहेत आणि बाबेलाचे लढणारी माणसे गोंधळून गेले आहेत.
33 This is what the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], says; “Babylon is like [SIM] wheat on the ground where it is about to be threshed by [animals] tramping on it. Very soon [their enemies] will trample on [the city of] Babylon [MET].”
३३कारण सेनाधीश परमेश्वर, इस्राएलाचा देव असे म्हणतो, “मळण्याच्या वेळी खळे जसे असते त्यासारखी बाबेलाची कन्या आहे. तिला पायाखाली तुडवण्याची वेळ आहे. अजून थोडा अवकाश आहे, मग तिच्या कापणीचा समय येईल.”
34 [The army of] Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, has attacked and crushed us [Israeli people], and we have no strength [left]. [It is as though] they have swallowed us like a [great] monster that filled its belly with all our tasty parts, and then has spit out [what it did not like].
३४यरूशलेम म्हणते, बाबेलाचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सराने मला खाऊन टाकले आहे. त्याने मला निचरून कोरडे केले आहे आणि मला रिकामे पात्र करून ठेवले आहे. त्याने मला अजगराप्रमाणे गिळून टाकले आहे.
35 [So] the people of [PRS] Jerusalem say [to Yahweh], “Cause the people of Babylon to suffer like they caused us to suffer! Cause the people of Babylonia to be punished for killing [MTY] our people!”
३५मजवर व माझ्या कुटूंबावर केलेला जुलूम बाबेलाविरूद्ध उलटो, असे सियोनामध्ये राहणारे म्हणतील. “माझे रक्त पाडल्याचा दोष खास्द्यांच्या रहिवाश्याविरूद्ध फिरो.” असे यरूशलेम म्हणेल.
36 And this is what Yahweh replies to the people of Jerusalem: “I will [be like your lawyer to] defend you, and I will avenge you. I will dry up the river in Babylon and [all] the springs of water.
३६म्हणून परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, पाहा, मी तुझ्या दाव्याविषयी बाजू मांडीन आणि तुझ्यासाठी सूड घेईन. कारण मी बाबेलाचे समुद्र आटवीन आणि तिचे झरे सुकवून टाकीन.
37 Babylon will become a heap of ruins, a place where jackals/wolves live. It will become a place that people are horrified about and will ridicule; it will be a place where no one lives.
३७बाबेल पडक्या इमारतीच्या दगडाविटांची रास, कोल्ह्यांचे राहण्याचे ठिकाण, दहशत, चेष्टेचा विषय, निर्जन स्थान असे होईल.
38 The people of Babylon will [all] roar like young lions; they will growl like baby lions.
३८“बाबेली जमून तरुण सिंहाप्रमाणे गर्जना करतील. ते सिंहाच्या छाव्याप्रमाणे गुरगुरतील.
39 But while they are extremely hungry, I will prepare a [different kind of] feast for them. [It is as though] I will cause them to drink wine until they are very drunk, [with the result that] they will fall asleep. But they will never wake up from that sleep!
३९जेव्हा ते अधाशीपणाने तप्त होतील, तेव्हा मी त्यांना मेजवानी देईन. मग त्यांनी उल्लास करून निरंतरची झोप घ्यावी व जागे होऊ नये म्हणून मी त्यांना मस्त करीन.” असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
40 I will bring them down to a place where they will be slaughtered, like [SIM] [someone who takes] lambs or rams or goats [to where they will be slaughtered for sacrifices].
४०“मी त्यांना कोकरासारखे, मेंढे व बोकड यांच्यासारखे खाली कत्तल करण्यास घेऊन जाईन.
41 People all over the earth [now] (honor/praise) Babylon; they say that it is a great city. But I will cause it to become a [place about which people of all] nations are horrified.
४१शेशख कसे काबीज झाले आहे! सर्व जगाचा प्रशंसा असा कसा धरला गेला आहे. राष्ट्रांत बाबेल कशी उध्वस्त जागा झाली आहे.
42 The [enemies of Babylon] will cover the city [like] huge waves of the sea [DOU].
४२बाबेलावर समुद्र आला आहे! ती त्याच्या गरजणाऱ्या लाटांनी झाकली आहे.
43 The towns in Babylonia will become ruins, Babylonia will become a dry desert area. It will be a land in which no one lives and which no one walks through.
४३तिची नगरे नाश झाली आहेत, कोरडी भूमी आणि ओसाड प्रदेश झाली आहे, आणि जिच्यात कोणी मनुष्य राहत नाही आणि कोणी मनुष्यप्राणी त्यातून जात नाही
44 And I will punish Bel, [the god that the people] of Babylon [worship], and I will cause the people to give back what they have stolen [MET]. [People of other] nations will no longer come to [worship] Bel. And the walls of Babylon will collapse.”
४४म्हणून बाबेलात मी बेलाला शिक्षा करीन; त्यांने जे गिळले आहे ते मी त्याच्या तोंडातून बाहेर आणील, आणि राष्ट्रे त्याच्याकडे आपल्या संततीला बरोबर घेऊन वाहणार नाही. बाबेलाची भिंत पडेल.
45 [Yahweh also says, ] “My people, come out of Babylon! Run away from there! Run, because [I], Yahweh, am extremely angry [MTY] [with the people of Babylon, and I will get rid of them]!
४५माझ्या लोकांनो, बाबेलाच्या शहरातून बाहेर या. माझ्या संतप्त क्रोधापासून तुम्ही प्रत्येकजण आपला जीव वाचवा.
46 Do not be discouraged/worried [IDM] or afraid when you hear reports [about what is happening in Babylon]. People will report rumors like that every year, rumors about violent things being done in the land, and rumors about leaders fighting against each other.
४६देशातील जे वर्तमान ऐकण्यात येईल त्यांने भिऊ नका अथवा आपले हृदय खचू देऊ नका. कारण एका वर्षात वर्तमान येईल. यानंतर पुढच्या वर्षात वर्तमान येईल, आणि देशात हिंसाचार होईल. राज्यकर्ते राज्यकर्त्याविरूद्ध होतील.
47 But it will soon be the time for me to get rid of the idols in Babylon. [People all over] the land will be ashamed [because of being defeated]; and the corpses of their [soldiers] will lie in the streets.
४७यास्तव, पाहा, दिवस येत आहेत की, जेव्हा मी बाबेलाच्या कोरीव मूर्तींना शिक्षा करील. तेव्हा तिचा संपूर्ण देश लज्जित होईल, आणि तिचे सर्व वधलेले तिच्यामध्ये पडतील.
48 Then all [the angels in] heaven and all the [people on] [PRS] the earth will rejoice, because from the north will come [armies] that will destroy Babylon.
४८मग आकाश व पृथ्वी आणि त्यामध्ये जे काही आहे ते सर्व बाबेलावर आनंद करतील. कारण तिचा नाश करणारा उत्तरेकडून येईल.” परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो.
49 Like [the soldiers of Babylon] killed the people of Israel and [also] killed others all over the world [HYP], [the people of] Babylon must also be killed.
४९बाबेलाने जसे इस्राएलाचे वधलेले पडतील असे केले आहे, तसे तिच्या देशात वधलेले सर्व बाबेलात पडतील.
50 You [Israeli people] who have not been killed [MTY], get out of Babylon! Do not wait! [Even though you are in a land] far away [from Israel], think about Yahweh, and think about Jerusalem!”
५०जे तुम्ही तलवारीपासून वाचले आहात, दूर जा! थांबू नका. दुरून परमेश्वराचे स्मरण करा. यरूशलेमे तुमच्या मनात येवो.
51 [The Israeli people say], “We are ashamed. We are completely disgraced [DOU], because foreigners have entered Yahweh’s temple [and (defiled it/caused it to become unfit for worship)].”
५१“आम्ही अपमान ऐकला आहे, म्हणून आम्ही लज्जित झालो आहोत. लाजेने आमची तोंडे झाकली आहेत, कारण परमेश्वराच्या घरातील पवित्र स्थानात परक्यांनी प्रवेश केला आहे.”
52 Yahweh replies, “[That is true], but there will soon be a time when I will destroy the idols in Babylon, and throughout Babylonia there will be wounded people who will groan.
५२यास्तव परमेश्वर म्हणतो, पाहा, असे दिवस येत आहेत की, मी तिच्या कोरीव मूर्तींना शिक्षा करीन, आणि तिच्या देशात जखमी झालेले कण्हतील.
53 Even if [the walls around] Babylon could extend up to the sky, and if its walls/fortifications were extremely strong, I will send [armies] that will destroy the city. [That will surely happen because I, ] Yahweh, have said it.”
५३कारण जरी बाबेल आकाशापर्यंत वर चढली किंवा जरी तिने आपले बळाचे उंचस्थान मजबूत केले, तरी माझ्याकडून नाश करणारे तिच्यावर येतील. असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
54 Listen to [the people of] Babylon crying [for help]! And listen to the sounds of things being destroyed all over Babylonia!
५४“बाबेलातून दुःखाच्या आरोळीचा, खास्द्यांच्या देशातून मोठा कोसळण्याचा आवाज येतो.
55 Yahweh will be destroying Babylon. He will cause the loud noises in the city to cease.
५५कारण परमेश्वर बाबेलाचा नाश करत आहे. तिच्यातील मोठा आवाज तो नष्ट करत आहे. त्यांचे शत्रू बहुत जलांच्या लाटांप्रमाणे गर्जना करीत आहेत. त्यांच्या गर्जनेचा गोंगाट फार बलवान होत आहे.
56 Enemy troops will surge against the city like [SIM] a great wave. They will capture the city’s mighty soldiers and break their weapons. [That will happen] because Yahweh is a God who punishes [his enemies] justly; he will punish them as they deserve.
५६कारण तिच्यावर, म्हणजे बाबेलाविरूद्ध नाश करणारा आला आहे, आणि तिचे योद्धे पकडले गेले आहेत. त्यांचे धनुष्ये मोडली आहेत, कारण परमेश्वर सूड घेणारा देव आहे. तो खचित प्रतिफल भरून देईल.
57 The king, the Commander of the armies of angels says, “I will cause the city officials and wise men, the army captains and soldiers [in Babylon] to become drunk. They will fall asleep, but they will never wake up [again]!”

58 Yahweh also says, “The thick walls around Babylon will be flattened to the ground. The city gates will be burned. People [from other countries] will work hard [to save the city], but it will be (in vain/useless), because everything [that they have built] will be destroyed by fire.”
५८सेनाधीश परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “बाबेलाची जाड तटबंदी जमीनदोस्त केली जाईल, आणि तिची उंच प्रवेशद्वारे जाळली जातील. मग तिच्या मदतीला येणाऱ्या लोकांची मेहनत निरुपयोगी होईल. जी प्रत्येकगोष्ट राष्ट्र तिच्यासाठी करण्याचा प्रयत्न करेल ती जाळण्यात येईल.”
59 Seraiah was the man who made arrangements for the King of Babylon [whenever he traveled]. He was the son of Neraiah and grandson of Mahseiah. When he was about to go to Babylon with King Zedekiah, after Zedekiah had been ruling Judah for almost four years, the prophet Jeremiah gave him a message.

60 Jeremiah had written on a scroll a list of all the disasters that he had written about, disasters that would soon occur in Babylon.
६०यिर्मयाने बाबेलावर जे सर्व अरिष्ट येणार होते ते म्हणजे बाबेलाविषयीची ही सर्व वचने एका गुंडाळीवर लिहिली होती.
61 He said to Seraiah, “When you arrive in Babylon, read [aloud] everything that I have written [on this scroll].
६१यिर्मया सरायाला म्हणाला, “जेव्हा, तू बाबेलास जाशील तेव्हा ही सर्व वचने वाचण्याची खात्री करून घे.
62 Then pray, ‘Yahweh, you said that you will thoroughly destroy Babylon, with the result that people and animals will no [longer] live there. You said that it will be desolate forever.’
६२आणि म्हण, ‘हे परमेश्वरा, तू स्वतः या स्थानाविषयी बोलला आहेस की, ते नष्ट होईल. मग तेथे कोणी रहिवासी किंवा लोक व पशू राहणार नाहीत. ती कायमची टाकाऊ होईल.’
63 [Then], when you have finished reading [what I have written on] the scroll, tie it to a [heavy] stone and throw it into the Euphrates [River].
६३मग जेव्हा ही गुंडाळी वाचून संपताच त्यास एक दगड बांध आणि फरात नदीमध्ये फेकून दे.
64 Then say, ‘In the same way, Babylon [and its people] will disappear and never exist again, because of the disasters that Yahweh will cause to occur there’” That is the end of Jeremiah’s messages.
६४म्हण ‘बाबेल याप्रमाणे बुडेल. जे अरिष्ट मी तिच्याविरूद्ध पाठवणार आहे त्यामुळे ती कधीही वर येणार नाही आणि ते थकून जातील.” येथे यिर्मयाची वचने संपली.
