Jeremaya onye amụma sị ya, “Biko, anyị bịara ịrịọ gị arịrịọ. Kpọkuo Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nʼekpere nʼihi anyị bụ ndị fọdụrụ nʼala a. Ị maara na o nwere oge anyị dị ọtụtụ nʼala a, ma ugbu a anyị dị naanị ole na ole.

5 They replied to me, “We hope/wish that Yahweh our God will be a faithful witness against us if we refuse to do everything that he tells us to do.
Ha sịrị Jeremaya, “Ka Onyenwe anyị bụrụ onyeama eziokwu na nke kwesiri ntụkwasị obi megide anyị, ma ọ bụrụ na anyị emeghị dịka ihe niile Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke gị gwara gị ka ị gwa anyị.
6 We are requesting you to ask Yahweh our God what we should do. [When he replies], we will obey him, whether we like what he says or not. We will do that because [we know that] things will go well for us if we obey him.”

Mgbe ụbọchị iri gasịrị okwu Onyenwe anyị ruru Jeremaya ntị.
8 So I summoned Johanan and all his [other] soldiers and all the [other] people, including those who were important and those who were not important.

Mgbe ha bịara, ọ gwara ha okwu sị ha, “Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel, onye unu zigara m ka m wegara arịrịọ unu, sịrị:

‘Ọ bụrụ na unu anọgide nʼala a, aga m ewuli unu elu; agaghị m akwada unu. Aga m akụkwa unu dịka osisi, gharakwa ihopu unu. Nʼihi na ihe ọjọọ ahụ m mere ka ọ bịakwasị unu na-ewute m nke ukwuu.

Aga m enwe obi ebere nʼebe unu nọ, si otu a mee ka ya onwe ya nweekwa obi ebere nʼebe unu nọ. Ọ ga-emekwa ka unu nwetaghachikwa ala unu.’
13 But if you refuse to obey Yahweh our God, and if you say ‘We will not stay here;
“Ma ọ bụrụ na unu onwe unu asị, ‘Anyị agaghị anọgide nʼala a,’ si otu a nupu isi nʼebe Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nọ;

15 then listen to what the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], says: ‘If you are determined to go to Egypt, and you go and live there,
mgbe ahụ, nụrụnụ okwu Onyenwe anyị, unu ndị fọdụrụ na Juda. Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru, ‘Ọ bụrụ na unu anọgidesie ike na mkpebi unu ịga Ijipt ibiri nʼebe ahụ, ọ bụrụkwa na unu agaa biri nʼIjipt nʼeziokwu,

18 And the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], also says this: ‘Because I was very angry, I severely punished [MTY] [all] the people of Jerusalem. I will do the same things to you when you go to Egypt. [The result will be that] people will curse you. They will be horrified about [what has happened to] you. They will make fun of you, and you will never see this land again.’
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru, ‘Dịka iwe m na ọnụma m bụ ihe awụkwasịrị nʼelu ndị bi na Jerusalem, otu a ka m ga-esi wụkwasịkwa unu ọnụma m, mgbe unu ga-aga Ijipt. 19 You little group of people of Judah who are still alive, [listen to me]: Yahweh has told you, ‘Do not go to Egypt.’ [So] do not forget what I have warned you today.

21 And today I have told you exactly what he said, but [I know that] you will not obey Yahweh our God now, just as you have not obeyed him previously.
Agwala m unu taa ihe o kwuru, ma unu ajụla ime ihe ahụ niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, bụ onye unu zigara m ka m jekwuru, kwuru.
