< Jeremiah 24 >
1 [The army of] King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon captured Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, and his officials, and all his skilled workers [DOU] and took them to Babylon. After that happened, Yahweh gave me a vision. [In the vision] I saw two baskets of figs that had been placed in front of the temple.
Lẹ́yìn tí Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli ti kó Jekoniah ọmọ Jehoiakimu ọba Juda àti àwọn ìjòyè wọn, àwọn oníṣọ̀nà àti oníṣẹ́ ọwọ́ ti Juda lọ sí ìgbèkùn láti Jerusalẹmu lọ sí ilẹ̀ àjèjì Babeli tán. Olúwa fi agbọ̀n èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ méjì hàn mí tí a gbé sí iwájú pẹpẹ Olúwa.
2 One basket was full of good figs, like the kind that ripen first. The other basket was filled with figs that were bad/rotten, with the result that they could not be eaten.
Agbọ̀n kan ni èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ tí ó dára bí èyí tí ó tètè pọ́n; èkejì sì ní èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ tí ó burú rékọjá tí kò sì le è ṣe é jẹ.
3 Then Yahweh said to me, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I replied, “[I see some] figs. Some are very good ones, but some are very bad, with the result that no one would eat them.”
Nígbà náà ni Olúwa bi mí pé, “Kí ni ìwọ rí Jeremiah?” Mo dáhùn pe, “Èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́.” Mo dáhùn. “Èyí tí ó dáradára púpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n èyí tí ó burú burú rékọjá tí kò sì ṣe é jẹ.”
4 Then Yahweh gave me this message:
Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá:
5 “This is what [I], Yahweh, the God whom the Israeli people [say that they worship], say: ‘The good figs represent [SIM] the people of Judah whom I exiled to Babylonia.
“Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí: ‘Gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ dáradára yìí ni Èmi yóò ka àwọn tí wọ́n lọ sí ilẹ̀ àjèjì láti Juda sí tí èmi rán jáde kúrò ní ibí yìí lọ sí ilẹ̀ àwọn ará Kaldea.
6 I [SYN] will (watch over/take care of) them well, and [some day] I will bring them back here [to Judah]. I will establish them and cause them to be strong. I will cause them to be prosperous [MET], and I will not exile them [again].
Ojú mi yóò máa ṣọ́ wọn lọ fún rere, Èmi yóò gbé wọn ró, n kò ní já wọn lulẹ̀. Èmi yóò gbìn wọ́n, n kò sì ní fà wọ́n tu.

Èmi yóò fún wọn ní ọkàn láti mọ̀ mí pé, “Èmi ni Olúwa.” Wọn yóò jẹ́ ènìyàn mi; Èmi ni yóò sì jẹ́ Ọlọ́run wọn; nítorí pé wọn yóò padà sọ́dọ̀ mi pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn wọn.
8 But [I], Yahweh, [also] say, ‘The bad figs represent [SIM] Zedekiah, the king of Judah, and his officials, and all the [other] people who remain in Jerusalem, and those who have gone to Egypt. I will do to them like people do to rotten figs.
“‘Ṣùgbọ́n gẹ́gẹ́ bí èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ tí kò dára, tí ó burú tí kò ṣe é jẹ,’ ni Olúwa wí, ‘bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Èmi yóò ṣe pẹ̀lú Sedekiah ọba Juda, àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ àti àwọn tí ó yẹ ní Jerusalẹmu, yálà wọ́n wà lórí ilẹ̀ yìí tàbí wọ́n ń gbé Ejibiti.
9 I will [get rid of them], with the result that people in every nation on the earth will be horrified, and will hate them because they are evil people. Wherever I scatter them, people will make fun of them, and say that they are disgraced, and ridicule them, and curse them.
Èmi yóò sọ wọ́n di ìwọ̀sí àti ẹni ibi nínú gbogbo ìjọba ayé, láti di ẹni ìfibú àti ẹni òwe, ẹni ẹ̀sín, àti ẹni ẹ̀gàn ní ibi gbogbo tí Èmi ó lé wọn sí.
10 And I will cause them to experience wars and famines and diseases, until they have disappeared from this land which I gave to them and to their ancestors.’”
Èmi yóò rán idà, ìyàn àti àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn sí wọn, títí tí gbogbo wọn yóò parun lórí ilẹ̀ tí a fún wọn àti fún àwọn baba wọn.’”
