Jeremiah 21
1 Yahweh gave me another message when King Zedekiah [of Judah] sent [a man who was also named] Pashhur, the son of Malkijah, and a priest named Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah, [to talk to me. They pleaded with me], saying,
वह कलाम जो ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से यरमियाह पर नाज़िल हुआ, जब सिदक़ियाह बादशाह ने फ़शहूर — बिन — मलकियाह और सफ़नियाह — बिन — मासियाह काहिन को उसके पास ये कहने को भेजा,
2 “[The army of] King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon is attacking Judah. Please speak to Yahweh for us. [Ask him if he will help us]. Perhaps he will force Nebuchadnezzar’s [army] to leave by performing a miracle for us, like the miracles he performed [previously].”
कि “हमारी ख़ातिर ख़ुदावन्द से दरियाफ़्त कर क्यूँकि शाहे — ए — बाबुल नबूकदनज़र हमारे साथ लड़ाई करता है; शायद ख़ुदावन्द हम से अपने तमाम 'अजीब कामों के मुवाफ़िक़ ऐसा सुलूक करे कि वह हमारे पास से चला जाए।”
3 I replied to them, “[Go back to King] Zedekiah. Tell him,
तब यरमियाह ने उनसे कहा, तुम सिदक़ियाह से यूँ कहना,
4 ‘This is what Yahweh, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], says: “I will cause your weapons to be useless in fighting against the king of Babylon and his army that is outside the walls of Jerusalem, attacking. I will enable them to enter into the center of this city.
कि 'ख़ुदावन्द, इस्राईल का ख़ुदा, यूँ फ़रमाता है कि: देख, मैं लड़ाई के हथियारों को जो तुम्हारे हाथ में हैं, जिनसे तुम शाह — ए — बाबुल और कसदियों के ख़िलाफ़ जो फ़सील के बाहर तुम्हारा घिराव किए हुए हैं लड़ते हो फेर दूँगा और मैं उनको इस शहर के बीच में इकट्ठे करूँगा;
5 I myself will fight against your [army] with my very great power, [MTY, DOU] because I am very angry with you.
और मैं आप अपने बढ़ाए हुए हाथ से और क़ुव्वत — ए — बाज़ू से तुम्हारे ख़िलाफ़ लड़ूँगा, हाँ, क़हर — ओ — ग़ज़ब से बल्कि ग़ज़बनाक ग़ुस्से से।
6 I will send a very (terrible plague/big sickness) on the people of this city, and on their domestic animals, and [many of] them will die.”
और मैं इस शहर के बाशिन्दों को, इंसान और हैवान दोनों को मारूँगा, वह बड़ी वबा से फ़ना हो जाएँगे।
7 And Yahweh says there are many people in this city who want to kill you. So, he will enable [the army of] King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and other people in this city to capture [you], King Zedekiah, and your officials, and [all the other] people who do not die from the plague. His army will slaughter your soldiers; they will not act mercifully toward you(pl) or pity you at all. [DOU]’
और ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, फिर मैं शाह — ए — यहूदाह सिदक़ियाह को और उसके मुलाज़िमों और 'आम लोगों को, जो इस शहर में वबा और तलवार और काल से बच जाएँगे, शाह — ए — बाबुल नबूकदनज़र और उनके मुख़ालिफ़ों और जानी दुश्मनों के हवाले करूँगा। और वह उनको हलाक करेगा; न उनको छोड़ेगा, न उन पर तरस खाएगा और न रहम करेगा।
8 And tell this to [all] the people: ‘Yahweh says that you must decide whether you want to die or to remain alive.
'और तू इन लोगों से कहना ख़ुदावन्द यूँ फ़रमाता है कि: देखो, मैं तुम को हयात की राह और मौत की राह दिखाता हूँ।
9 Everyone who remains in Jerusalem will die. They will be killed in battles or die from being hungry or from diseases. But those who surrender to the army of Babylon that is surrounding your city will remain alive. They will escape dying.
जो कोई इस शहर में रहेगा, वह तलवार और काल और वबा से मरेगा, लेकिन जो निकलकर कसदियों में जो तुम को घेरे हुए हैं, चला जाएगा, वह जिएगा और उसकी जान उसके लिए ग़नीमत होगी।
10 [That will happen] because I, Yahweh, have decided to cause this city to experience disasters, not to experience something good. The army of the king of Babylon will capture this city and will destroy it [completely] by fire.’”
क्यूँकि मैंने इस शहर का रुख़ किया है कि इससे बुराई करूँ, और भलाई न करूँ, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है; वह शाह — ए — बाबुल के हवाले किया जाएगा और वह उसे आग से जलाएगा।
11 [Yahweh also told me to] say this to the family of the king of Judah: “Listen to this message from Yahweh!
'और शाह — ए — यहूदाह के ख़ान्दान के बारे में ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम सुनो,
12 This is what he says to you descendants of King David: ‘Every day, make fair decisions for the people whom you judge. Help those who have been robbed. Rescue/Save them from those [SYN] who (oppress them/treat them cruelly). If you do not do that, I will be angry and punish [MTY] you with a fire that will be impossible to extinguish, because of [all] the sins that you have committed.
'ऐ दाऊद के घराने! ख़ुदावन्द यूँ फ़रमाता है कि: तुम सवेरे उठ कर इन्साफ़ करो और मज़लूम को ज़ालिम के हाथ से छुड़ाओ, ऐसा तुम्हारे कामों की बुराई की वजह से मेरा क़हर आग की तरह भड़के, और ऐसा तेज़ हो कि कोई उसे ठंडा न कर सके।
13 I will fight against you people [of Jerusalem], you who live on top of a rocky hill above the valley. [I will fight against] you people who boast, saying, “No one can attack us and break through [our defenses].”
ऐ वादी की बसनेवाली, ऐ मैदान की चट्टान पर रहने वाली, जो कहती है कि कौन हम पर हमला करेगा? या हमारे घरों में कौन आ घुसेगा?' ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है: मैं तेरा मुख़ालिफ़ हूँ,
14 I will punish you for your wicked deeds like you deserve to be punished; [It will be as though] I will light a fire in your forests that will burn up everything around you!’”
और तुम्हारे कामों के फल के मुवाफ़िक़ मैं तुम को सज़ा दूँगा, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, और मैं उसके बन में आग लगाऊँगा, जो उसके सारे 'इलाक़े को भसम करेगी।
