Jeremiah 13
1 [One day] Yahweh said to me, “Go and buy a linen waistcloth. Put it on, but do not wash it.”
१परमेश्वर मला असे म्हणाला: “जा आणि तागाचा कमरबंद विकत घे आणि तो आपल्या कमरेस बांध, पण पहिल्याने तो पाण्यात घालू नको.”
2 So I bought a [very nice] waistcloth, which is what Yahweh told me to do, and I put it on.
२तेव्हा मी परमेश्वराने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे नेसावयास विकत घेतले व ते माझ्या कमरेस बांधले.
3 Then [later] Yahweh gave me another message.
३नंतर परमेश्वराकडून मला दुसऱ्यांदा वचन प्राप्त झाले ते असे,
4 He said, “Go to the small Perath Stream [near Jerusalem] and hide your waistcloth in a crevice/hole in the rocks.”
४“तू नेसावयास विकत घेतलेले, जे तुझ्या कमरेस बांधले आहे, उठ आणि फरात नदी कडे जा आणि तिथे ते खडकाला पडलेल्या खाचेत लपवून ठेव.”
5 So I went to the stream and did what Yahweh told me to do.
५त्याप्रमाणे मी फरातला गेलो आणि अगदी परमेश्वराने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे ते लपवून ठेवले.
6 A long time later, Yahweh said to me, “Go [back] to that stream and get the waistcloth that I told you to hide there.”
६पुष्कळ दिवसानी, परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, “उठ आणि फरातला जा व लपवून ठेवायला सांगितलेला कमरबंध परत घे.”
7 So I went to the Perath Stream and dug out the waistcloth from the crevice/hole in which I had hidden it. But it was ruined, and useless.
७त्याप्रमाणे मी फरातला गेलो आणि जो कमरबंध मी लपवला होता तो उकरुन काढला. पण पाहा! आता तो कमरबंद नष्ट झाला होता, तो अगदी निरुपयोगी झाला.
8 Then Yahweh gave me this message:
८तेव्हा परमेश्वराचे वचन मजकडे पुन्हा आले व म्हणाले.
9 “[What happened to your waistcloth] shows that I will destroy the things that [the people of] Jerusalem and [other places in] Judah are very proud of.
९परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “याचप्रकारे मी यहूदाचा आणि यरूशलेमेचा अहंकारी नष्ट करीन.
10 Those wicked people refuse to pay attention to what I say. They stubbornly do just what they desire to do; they worship other gods. Therefore, they will become completely useless, like your waistcloth.
१०हे दुष्ट लोक जे माझे वचन ऐकण्यास नकार देतात, जे त्यांच्या हृदयाच्या कठोरपणात चालतात, जे दुसऱ्या देवाच्या मागे त्याची उपासना करण्यास आणि त्यांच्या समोर नमन करण्यास जातात, ते या कमरबंधाप्रमाणे होतील, ज्याचा काहीच उपयोग नाही.
11 Just like a waistcloth clings closely/tightly to a man’s waist, I wanted the people [MTY] of Israel and Judah to cling closely to me. I wanted them to be my people, people who would praise me and honor me. But they would not pay attention [to me]. “
११कारण जसा कमरबंध मनुष्याच्या कमरेभोवती लपेटलेला असतो, त्याप्रमाणे मी यहूदाची आणि इस्राएलची कुटुंबे, ते लोक माझे व्हावे, मला कीर्ती, प्रशंसा आणि मान मिळवून द्यावा म्हणून मी त्यांना आपणास लपेटलेले आहे. पण ते माझे ऐकावयाचे नाही.” परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो.
12 “[So], tell this to them: ‘Yahweh, the God whom you Israeli [people worship], says that every leather wineskin should be filled with wine.’ And [when you tell that to them], they will reply, ‘(Of course/Certainly) we know [RHQ] that all wineskins should be filled with wine!’
१२“यास्तव तू हे वचन त्याना बोललेच पाहिजे, परमेश्वर, इस्राएलचा देव असे म्हणतो, ‘प्रत्येक बुधला द्राक्षरसाने भरेल.’ तेव्हा ते तुला म्हणतील प्रत्येक बुधला द्राक्षरसाने भरेल हे आम्हांला माहीत नाही काय?
13 And then you must tell them, ‘No, that is not what Yahweh means. What he said means that he will cause this land to be filled with people who are drunk. [That will include all of you]—the king who sits on the throne that King David previously sat on, the priests and the prophets, and even the common people of Jerusalem.’
१३मग तू त्यांना सांग, ‘परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, पाहा! या देशात राहणारे, दावीदाच्या सिंहासनावर बसलेले राजे, याजक, संदेष्टे आणि यरूशलेममध्ये सर्व राहणारे यांना मी मद्याच्या धुंदीने भरीन.
14 [He is saying], ‘I will cause you to bash each other. [Even] parents will bash their children. I will not pity you or act mercifully toward you at all; pitying you will not prevent me from getting rid of you.’”
१४मग मी त्यांना एकमेकांवर आदळीन, पिता पुत्र एकमेकांवर आदळतील, मी त्यांचा नाश करू नये असा त्यांचा कळवळा मी करणार नाही, किंवा त्यांना सोडणार नाही, किंवा त्यांच्यावर दया करणार नाही. असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
15 [You people of Judah], pay very careful attention [DOU]. Do not be proud, because Yahweh has spoken to you.
१५ऐका आणि लक्ष द्या, गर्विष्ठ बनू नका, कारण परमेश्वर तुमच्याशी बोलला आहे.
16 [It is as though] he is ready to bring darkness on you and to cause you to stumble and fall [as you walk] on the hills when it is becoming dark. [So] praise/honor Yahweh your God before that happens. If you do not do that, you will look for light, but all you will see is darkness and gloom.
१६त्याने अंधकार पसरविण्याच्या आधी, आणि अंधकारमय पर्वतावर तो तुमचे पाय डळमळण्याचे कारण बनण्याआधी, आणि तुम्ही प्रकाशाची प्रतीक्षा करतांना तो त्याची मृत्यूछाया करील व त्याचा निबीड अंधार करून ठेवील त्याच्या आधी, परमेश्वर, तुमचा देव याला मान द्या.
17 And if you [still] refuse to heed what he says, [what will happen to you because of] your being proud will cause me to cry when I am alone. My eyes will be filled with tears because [you], Yahweh’s people, [whom he takes care of like a shepherd takes care of] [MET] his flock, will [all] be [captured by your enemies and] taken to other countries.
१७म्हणून जर तुम्ही ऐकणार नसाल, तर मी तुमच्या अहंकारामुळे शोकाकुल होईन. माझे डोळे खात्रीने अश्रू गाळतील आणि आसवे वाहवील. कारण परमेश्वराचा कळप बंदिस्त केला आहे.
18 [You people of Judah], say to the king and to his mother, “Come down from sitting on your thrones and [humbly] sit in the dust, because [your enemies] will soon snatch from your heads your glorious crowns.”
१८राजाला आणि राणीच्या आईला सांग, स्वत: ला नम्र करा आणि खाली बसा, कारण तुमचा मुकुट, म्हणजे तुमचे गौरव आणि गर्व, खाली पडले आहे.
19 The towns in the southern part of Judah will be surrounded by your enemies, and no one will be able to get through their lines [to rescue the people in those towns]. [You people of] Judah will be captured and taken away; you will all be (exiled/taken [to foreign countries)].
१९नेगेबमधील शहरे बंद केली गेली आहेत, ती उघडायला कोणी नाही. यहूदाला बंदिस्त केले आहे, तिच्यातील सर्व हद्दपार करण्यात आले आहेत.
20 [You leaders of Jerusalem], open your eyes and look: [The enemy armies are ready to] march down from the north. [When that happens], what will happen to [RHQ] the [people of Judah who are like] a beautiful flock of sheep, people that he gave to you to take care of?
२०आपले डोळे वर लाव आणि जो उत्तरेहून येत आहे त्यास पाहा. त्याने दिलेला कळप, तुला अति सुंदर असलेला कळप कोठे आहे?
21 What will you say [RHQ] when Yahweh appoints people from other countries to rule over you, people who you [mistakenly] thought were your friends? You will [RHQ] suffer very much pain, like a woman who is about to give birth to a baby.
२१ज्यांना तू आपले मित्र होण्यास शिकवले, त्यांच्यावर देव जेव्हा तुला ठेवणार, तेव्हा तू काय करशील? जसे प्रसुतपावणाऱ्या स्त्रीला वेदना वेढतात, त्याचप्रमाणे हा तुझ्या वेदनांचा प्रारंभ नाही काय?
22 You will ask yourselves, “Why is this happening to us?” [I will reply that] it is because of your many sins. That is why [soldiers of the invading armies] will lift up the skirts [of your women] and rape them.
२२तेव्हा तू कदाचित् स्वत: च्या मनास विचारशील, “माझ्या सोबतच या गोष्टी का घडतात?” हे असे आहे कारण तुझ्या अनेक पापांमुळे तुझा घागरा उठला गेला आहे आणि तुझा बलात्कार झाला आहे.
23 A man from Ethiopia certainly cannot [RHQ] change the color of his [black] skin, and a leopard certainly cannot [RHQ] change its spots. Similarly, you cannot start doing what is good, because you have always done what is evil.
२३कुशी लोक त्यांच्या कातडीचा रंग बदलू शकतील काय? किंवा चित्ता त्याच्यावरील ठिपके बदलू शकेल काय? त्याचप्रमाणे तुम्हास, जी नेहमीच वाईट करण्याची सवय आहे, ते तुम्ही चांगले करणार काय.
24 [Yahweh says], “I will scatter you like chaff that is blown away by the wind from the desert.
२४यास्तव वाळवंटातील उडून जाणाऱ्या भुसकटाप्रमाणे मी त्यांचा नाश करील.
25 That is what is certainly going to happen to you; the things that I have determined will happen to you, because you have forgotten me, and you are trusting in false [gods].
२५हेच तुला माझ्याकडून देण्यात आले आहे, तुझा घोषीत केलेला वाटा, कारण तू मला विसरली आहे आणि खोट्यावर विश्वास ठेवला आहे, असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
26 [It is as though] I myself will pull your skirts up over your faces and cause you to be very ashamed because everyone will be able to see your sex organs.
२६यरूशलेम, मी तुझा घागरा डोक्याकडून खेचीन. प्रत्येकजण तुला पाहील आणि तुझी बेअब्रू होईल.
27 I have seen that you [act like men who are eager to commit adultery]; you are like male horses that whinny when they desire [to have sex with] a female horse. I have seen that you worship disgusting idols in the fields and on the hills. [You people of] Jerusalem, terrible things will happen to you! How long will it be [RHQ] until you are acceptable to me [again]?”
२७तुझी जारकर्मे आणि खिदळणे, तुझ्या व्यभिचाराची दुष्टाई ही रानांतल्या डोंगरावर मी पाहिली आहेत, हे यरूशलेमे, तुला हाय! तू स्वच्छ केली जात नाही आहे, असे किती काळ चालणार?
