Jeremiah 13
1 [One day] Yahweh said to me, “Go and buy a linen waistcloth. Put it on, but do not wash it.”
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ, ನಾರಿನ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟು ಒಂದನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದುಕೋ. ಅದನ್ನು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನೆಸಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
2 So I bought a [very nice] waistcloth, which is what Yahweh told me to do, and I put it on.
ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದುಕೊಂಡೆ.
3 Then [later] Yahweh gave me another message.
ಆಮೇಲೆ, “ನೀನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದ ಆ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು,
4 He said, “Go to the small Perath Stream [near Jerusalem] and hide your waistcloth in a crevice/hole in the rocks.”
ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಬಂಡೆಯ ಸಂದಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡು,” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಆದೇಶ ನನಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು.
5 So I went to the stream and did what Yahweh told me to do.
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟೆ.
6 A long time later, Yahweh said to me, “Go [back] to that stream and get the waistcloth that I told you to hide there.”
ಬಹು ದಿನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ, “ಹೊರಡು, ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತೆಗೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
7 So I went to the Perath Stream and dug out the waistcloth from the crevice/hole in which I had hidden it. But it was ruined, and useless.
ಆಗ ನಾನು ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಹುಡುಕಿ, ನಾನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಆ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಕೆಟ್ಟು ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
8 Then Yahweh gave me this message:
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನನಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
9 “[What happened to your waistcloth] shows that I will destroy the things that [the people of] Jerusalem and [other places in] Judah are very proud of.
“ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ‘ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಗರ್ವವನ್ನೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮಹಾ ಗರ್ವವನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸುವೆನು.
10 Those wicked people refuse to pay attention to what I say. They stubbornly do just what they desire to do; they worship other gods. Therefore, they will become completely useless, like your waistcloth.
ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವ ಈ ದುಷ್ಟಜನರು ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಬಾರದ ಈ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಹಾಗಿರುವರು.
11 Just like a waistcloth clings closely/tightly to a man’s waist, I wanted the people [MTY] of Israel and Judah to cling closely to me. I wanted them to be my people, people who would praise me and honor me. But they would not pay attention [to me]. “
ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇದು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ನಡುವಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೋ, ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆತನವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನೆತನವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನನಗೆ ಜನರೂ ಹೆಸರೂ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವೂ ಮಹಿಮೆಯೂ ಆಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು, ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಕೇಳದೇ ಹೋದರು ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.’
12 “[So], tell this to them: ‘Yahweh, the God whom you Israeli [people worship], says that every leather wineskin should be filled with wine.’ And [when you tell that to them], they will reply, ‘(Of course/Certainly) we know [RHQ] that all wineskins should be filled with wine!’
“ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು: ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಗಡಿಗೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವುವು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಗಡಿಗೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವುವೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯಿತಲ್ಲವೋ,’ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವರು.
13 And then you must tell them, ‘No, that is not what Yahweh means. What he said means that he will cause this land to be filled with people who are drunk. [That will include all of you]—the king who sits on the throne that King David previously sat on, the priests and the prophets, and even the common people of Jerusalem.’
ಆಗ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅರಸರನ್ನೂ, ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಅಮಲಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸುವೆನು.
14 [He is saying], ‘I will cause you to bash each other. [Even] parents will bash their children. I will not pity you or act mercifully toward you at all; pitying you will not prevent me from getting rid of you.’”
ಹಿರಿಕಿರಿಯರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಬಡಿದಾಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸೆನು, ಕನಿಕರಿಸೆನು, ಕರುಣಿಸೆನು ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡದೆ ಬಿಡೆನು,’ ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾದ ನನ್ನ ನುಡಿ.”
15 [You people of Judah], pay very careful attention [DOU]. Do not be proud, because Yahweh has spoken to you.
ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ, ಗರ್ವಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
16 [It is as though] he is ready to bring darkness on you and to cause you to stumble and fall [as you walk] on the hills when it is becoming dark. [So] praise/honor Yahweh your God before that happens. If you do not do that, you will look for light, but all you will see is darkness and gloom.
ಅವರು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ತರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲುಗಳು ಮೊಬ್ಬಿನ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಗಾಡಾಂಧಕಾರದ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದಾರು.
17 And if you [still] refuse to heed what he says, [what will happen to you because of] your being proud will cause me to cry when I am alone. My eyes will be filled with tears because [you], Yahweh’s people, [whom he takes care of like a shepherd takes care of] [MET] his flock, will [all] be [captured by your enemies and] taken to other countries.
ನೀವು ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಗುಟ್ಟಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗರ್ವದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಗೋಳಾಡುವುದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂದೆಯು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಅಳುವೆನು. ನನ್ನ ನೇತ್ರವು ಅಶ್ರುಧಾರೆಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವುದು.
18 [You people of Judah], say to the king and to his mother, “Come down from sitting on your thrones and [humbly] sit in the dust, because [your enemies] will soon snatch from your heads your glorious crowns.”
ರಾಜನಿಗೂ ರಾಜಮಾತೆಗೂ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ, “ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂದದ ಕಿರೀಟವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ.”
19 The towns in the southern part of Judah will be surrounded by your enemies, and no one will be able to get through their lines [to rescue the people in those towns]. [You people of] Judah will be captured and taken away; you will all be (exiled/taken [to foreign countries)].
ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದೇಶದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆಯಾಗಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೂದವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸೆರೆಹೋಗಿದೆ, ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
20 [You leaders of Jerusalem], open your eyes and look: [The enemy armies are ready to] march down from the north. [When that happens], what will happen to [RHQ] the [people of Judah who are like] a beautiful flock of sheep, people that he gave to you to take care of?
ಚೀಯೋನೇ, ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತು, ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಬರುವವರನ್ನು ನೋಡು, ನಿನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಹಿಂಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಅಂದವಾದ ಹಿಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲಿ?
21 What will you say [RHQ] when Yahweh appoints people from other countries to rule over you, people who you [mistakenly] thought were your friends? You will [RHQ] suffer very much pain, like a woman who is about to give birth to a baby.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮಿತ್ರರಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವಾಗ ಏನು ಹೇಳುವಿ? ವೇದನೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವವಳೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಲ್ಲವೆ?
22 You will ask yourselves, “Why is this happening to us?” [I will reply that] it is because of your many sins. That is why [soldiers of the invading armies] will lift up the skirts [of your women] and rape them.
ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ, “ಇವು ನನಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದವು?” ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಮನದೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರಿಗೆಯು ಕೀಳಲಾಗುವುದು, ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಮ್ಮಡಿಯು ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆ ಈಡಾದದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಾಪಾಪವೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು.
23 A man from Ethiopia certainly cannot [RHQ] change the color of his [black] skin, and a leopard certainly cannot [RHQ] change its spots. Similarly, you cannot start doing what is good, because you have always done what is evil.
ಕೂಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನೂ, ಚಿರತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಚ್ಚೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗುವುದೋ? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವುಳ್ಳವರಾದ ನೀವೂ ಸಹ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾದೀತೇ?
24 [Yahweh says], “I will scatter you like chaff that is blown away by the wind from the desert.
“ಅಡವಿಯ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹಾರಿಹೋಗುವ ಹೊಟ್ಟಿನಂತೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸುವೆನು.
25 That is what is certainly going to happen to you; the things that I have determined will happen to you, because you have forgotten me, and you are trusting in false [gods].
ಇದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಭಾಗವು, ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಅಳತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಲು,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. “ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಸುಳ್ಳು ದೇವರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆಯಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀಯೇ.
26 [It is as though] I myself will pull your skirts up over your faces and cause you to be very ashamed because everyone will be able to see your sex organs.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಕಾಣುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎತ್ತುವೆನು.
27 I have seen that you [act like men who are eager to commit adultery]; you are like male horses that whinny when they desire [to have sex with] a female horse. I have seen that you worship disgusting idols in the fields and on the hills. [You people of] Jerusalem, terrible things will happen to you! How long will it be [RHQ] until you are acceptable to me [again]?”
ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಮುಕತನವನ್ನು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೀಳಾದ ವೇಶ್ಯತನವನ್ನು ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೀನು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಏನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಿ! ಇನ್ನೆಷ್ಟು ಕಾಲ ನೀನು ಅಶುದ್ಧಳಾಗಿರುವೆ?”
