Isaiah 59
1 Listen to this! Yahweh’s power [MTY] is not ended/gone, with the result that he cannot save [you]. He has not become deaf [MTY], with the result that he cannot hear [you when you call to him for help].
Eis que a mão do Senhor não está encolhida, para que não possa salvar; nem o seu ouvido agravado, para não poder ouvir.
2 But, you have separated yourselves from your God by the sins that you have committed. Because of your sins, he has turned away from you, with the result that he does not pay attention to what you request him to do.
Mas as vossas iniquidades fazem divisão entre vós e o vosso Deus: e os vossos pecados encobrem o seu rosto de vós, para que não ouça.
3 You do violent things [MTY] [to others], with the result that your hands are stained with their blood. You [constantly] tell [MTY] lies, and you say [MTY] evil things [about others].
Porque as vossas mãos estão contaminadas de sangue, e os vossos dedos de iniquidade: os vossos lábios falam falsidade, a vossa língua pronúncia perversidade.
4 When you accuse someone in court, what you say is not fair and it is not true. You accuse people falsely. You are [constantly] planning to cause trouble for others, and then you do those evil things that you planned.
Ninguém há que clame pela justiça, nem ninguém que compareça em juízo pela verdade; confiam na vaidade, e andam falando mentiras; concebem o trabalho, e parem a iniquidade.
5 What you plan to do to harm people [MET] is as dangerous as the eggs of a (cobra/poisonous snake), because cobras will hatch from those eggs. You trap people like [MET] spiders trap/catch insects in their webs.
Ovos de basilisco chocam, e tecem teias de aranha: o que comer dos ovos deles morrerá; e, apertando-os, sai deles uma víbora.
6 We people cannot hide/cover our skin with clothes made of spider webs [MET], and similarly you cannot hide the evil things that you have done. You are [constantly] acting [MTY] violently.
As suas teias não prestam para vestidos, nem se poderão cobrir com as suas obras: as suas obras são obras de iniquidade, e obra de violência há nas suas mãos.
7 You [SYN] are very quick to go and do evil things, and you hurry to murder people [MTY] who are innocent. You are [continually] thinking about sinning. Wherever you go, you destroy things and cause people to suffer.
Os seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam para derramarem o sangue inocente: os seus pensamentos são pensamentos de iniquidade, destruição e quebrantamento há nas suas estradas.
8 You do not know how to act peacefully or to treat others fairly. You always are (dishonest/deceiving others) [MET], and those who imitate your behavior never have any inner peace.
O caminho da paz não conhecem, nem há juízo nos seus passos: as suas veredas torcem para si mesmos; todo aquele que anda por elas não tem conhecimento da paz.
9 Because of that, God does not rescue us [from our enemies]; [it seems that] he is not acting fairly/righteously toward us. We expect [God to give us] light, but all [he gives us] is darkness [DOU].
Pelo que o juízo está longe de nós, e a justiça não nos alcança; esperamos pela luz, e eis que trevas nos veem; pelo resplandor, mas andamos em escuridão.
10 We are like [SIM] blind people who have to feel along a wall to be able to walk anywhere. We stumble [and trip] at noontime like [SIM] we would when it is dark. We are like [SIM] dead people who are among healthy people.
Apalpamos as paredes como cegos, e como sem olhos andamos apalpando: tropeçamos ao meio dia como nas trevas, e nos lugares escuros como mortos.
11 We growl like [SIM] [hungry] bears; we continually moan like [SIM] doves. We seek [people who do] what is just/fair, but we cannot find any [anywhere]. [We want God] to rescue us, but [it seems that] he is far away.
Todos nós bramamos como ursos, e continuamente gememos como pombas: esperamos pelo juízo, e não o há; pela salvação, e está longe de nós.
12 [But these things are happening] because [it is as though] our sins are piled high in the presence of God, and that they testify [PRS] against us. We cannot deny it; we know that we have done many wrong things.
Porque as nossas transgressões se multiplicaram perante ti, e os nossos pecados testificam contra nós; porque as nossas transgressões estão conosco, e conhecemos as nossas iniquidades;
13 [We know that] we have rebelled against Yahweh; we have turned away from him. We (oppress people/treat people cruelly) by what we testify [against them]; we do not allow them to get what they have a right to get. We [SYN] think about the lies that we can tell, and then we tell them.
Como o prevaricar, e mentir contra o Senhor, e o retirar-se de após o nosso Deus, o falar de opressão e rebelião, o conceber e inventar palavras de falsidade do coração.
14 [In our courts, the judges] do not decide cases/matters fairly; no one is acting righteously. In plazas where people gather together, no one tells the truth [PRS]; [it seems that people] are not allowed to say what is true.
Pelo que o juízo se tornou atráz, e a justiça se pôs de longe; porque a verdade anda tropeçando pelas ruas, e a equidade não pode entrar.
15 No one tells the truth, and people try to ruin [the reputations of] those who quit doing evil. Yahweh looked around, and he saw that no one was doing what is just/fair, and he was [very] displeased.
Sim, a verdade desfalece, e quem se desvia do mal arrisca-se a ser despojado: e o Senhor o viu, e pareceu mal aos seus olhos, por não haver juízo.
16 He was disgusted when he saw that no one tried to help [those who were being treated cruelly]. So he used his own power [MTY] to rescue them; it is because he is always righteous that he did that [PRS].
E vendo que ninguém havia, maravilhou-se de que não houvesse algum intercessor; pelo que o seu próprio braço lhe trouxe a salvação, e a sua própria justiça o susteve;
17 [It is as though he is a soldier who] [MET] puts on his armor and a helmet; his continually doing what is right is like [MET] his armor, and his ability to rescue people is [like] his helmet. His being extremely angry and his being ready to get revenge [on those who do evil] are like [MET] his robes.
Porque se vestiu de justiça, como de uma couraça, e pôs o elmo da salvação na sua cabeça, e vestiu-se de vestidos de vingança por vestidura, e cobriu-se de zelo, como de um manto
18 He will repay his enemies for the evil things that they have done. He will severely punish [MTY] even those who live far [from Jerusalem].
Conforme as obras deles, assim dará a recompensa, furor aos seus adversários, e recompensa aos seus inimigos: às ilhas dará o pago.
19 When that happens, people everywhere, from the east to the west, will respect and honor Yahweh [MTY], because he will come like [SIM] a rushing river that is pushed along by the strong wind that Yahweh sent.
Então temerão o nome do Senhor desde o poente, e a sua glória desde o nascente do sol: vindo o inimigo como uma corrente de águas, o espírito do Senhor arvorará a bandeira contra ele.
20 And Yahweh says that he will come to Jerusalem to free [his people]; he will come to rescue those in Judah who have quit (doing sinful things/their sinful behavior).
E virá um redentor a Sião e aos que se convertem da transgressão em Jacob, diz o Senhor.
21 This is what Yahweh says to his people: “This is the agreement that I will make with you: My Spirit will not leave you, and you will always have my message. You will [be able to] declare it [MTY], and your children and grandchildren will [be able to] declare it forever.”
Quanto a mim, este é o meu concerto com eles, diz o Senhor: o meu espírito, que está sobre ti, e as minhas palavras, que pus em tua boca, não se desviarão da tua boca nem da boca da tua semente, nem da boca da semente da tua semente, diz o Senhor, desde agora e para todo o sempre.
