Isaiah 39
1 Soon after that, Baladan’s son Merodach-Baladan, the King of Babylon, heard a report that Hezekiah had been very sick but that he had recovered. So he wrote some notes and gave them to some messengers to take to Hezekiah, along with a gift.
Không lâu sau đó, Mê-rô-đác Ba-la-đan, con Ba-la-đan, vua Ba-by-lôn, sai người đến chúc mừng và tặng lễ vật cho Ê-xê-chia vì nghe rằng Ê-xê-chia bị bệnh rất nặng và đã được hồi phục.
2 [When the messengers arrived], Hezekiah welcomed them gladly. [Then] he showed them everything that was in his (treasure houses/places where very valuable things were kept)—the silver, the gold, the spices, and the nice-smelling [olive] oil. He also took them to see the place where they kept their soldiers’ weapons, and he showed them the other valuable things that were in the storehouses. Hezekiah showed them everything [LIT] that was in the palace or in other places [HYP].
Ê-xê-chia vui mừng đón tiếp các sứ thần Ba-by-lôn và chỉ cho họ xem mọi thứ trong kho báu của vua—nào bạc, vàng, hương liệu, và dầu thơm. Vua còn cho họ xem kho vũ khí và tất cả bảo vật trong cung vua cùng tất cả mọi vật trong hoàng cung hay vương quốc, không chừa thứ gì.
3 Then I went to King Hezekiah and asked him, “Where did those men come from, and what did they want?” He replied, “They came from the far away land of Babylon.”
Tiên tri Y-sai đến gặp vua Ê-xê-chia và hỏi: “Những người đó muốn gì? Họ từ đâu đến?” Ê-xê-chia đáp: “Họ đến từ một xứ xa tận Ba-by-lôn.”
4 I asked him, “What did they see in your palace?” Hezekiah replied, “They saw everything. I showed them absolutely everything that I own—all my valuable things.”
Y-sai lại hỏi: “Vua cho họ xem những gì trong cung điện?” Ê-xê-chia đáp: “Họ xem tất cả. Ta cho họ xem mọi thứ ta có—tất cả trong kho báu hoàng cung.”
5 Then I said to Hezekiah, “Listen to this message from the Commander of the armies of angels:
Rồi Y-sai thưa cùng Ê-xê-chia: “Xin vua nghe lời Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân:
6 'There will be a time when everything in your palace, all the valuable things that your ancestors stored there up until the present time, will be carried away to Babylon. Yahweh says that there will be nothing left.
‘Này, trong thời gian sắp đến, mọi thứ trong cung điện ngươi—kể cả những bảo vật tổ phụ ngươi đã cất giữ cho đến bây giờ—sẽ bị đem qua Ba-by-lôn, không sót một thứ gì.’ Chúa Hằng Hữu phán vậy.
7 Furthermore, some of your sons will be forced to go to Babylon. They will be castrated in order that they can become servants in the palace of the king of Babylon.'”
‘Một số con cháu của ngươi sẽ bị bắt lưu đày. Các con cháu ấy sẽ phải làm quan hoạn phục vụ trong cung điện của vua Ba-by-lôn.’”
8 Then Hezekiah replied to me, “That message from Yahweh that you have given to me is good.” He said that because he was thinking, “Even if that happens, there will be peace, and people in this country will be safe during the time that I am alive.”
Vua Ê-xê-chia nói với Y-sai: “Lời Chúa Hằng Hữu mà ông vừa thuật lại thật tốt lành.” Vì vua nghỉ rằng: “Ít ra trong đời ta cũng hưởng được thái bình và an ninh.”
