Hosea 4
1 You Israeli people, listen to this message from Yahweh! He is accusing you people who live in this country, [saying] “The people are not faithfully [doing what pleases me], they are not kind [to others], and they do not [even] know me!
ए इस्राएलका मानिस हो, परमप्रभुको वचन सुन । यस देशका वासिन्दाहरूको विरुद्धमा परमप्रभुको एउटा मुद्धा छ, किनभने देशमा सत्यता, करारको विश्वस्तता, परमप्रभुको ज्ञान छैन ।
2 Everywhere in this land they curse [others], they murder [others], they steal, and they commit adultery. They act violently toward others and commit one murder after another.
त्यहाँ सराप, झुटो बोली, हत्या, चोरी र व्यभिचार छ । मानिसहरूले सबै सीमा तोडेका छन्, र रगत बगेपछि रगत बगेको छ ।
3 It is because of their doing those things that there is no rain [MTY], the land has become dry, the people are mourning, and the people are dying [from hunger]. Even the wild animals and the birds and the fish in the sea are dying.
यसैले त्यो देश सुख्खा हुँदैछ, र त्यहाँ बसोबास गर्ने सबै खेर जाँदैछन् । मैदानका पशुहरू, आकाशका चराहरू, र समुद्र भएका माछासमेत मारिंदैछन् ।
4 But no one should accuse someone else and say it is his fault. It is you priests whom I am accusing.
तर कसैलाई मुद्धा ल्याउन नदेओ । कसैले कसैलाई पनि दोष नलगाओस् । किनकि मैले दोष लगाइरहेको तिमी, पुजारीहरूलाई नै हो ।
5 So I will punish [MTY] you priests, night and day, and I will punish the prophets with you. I am going to destroy [Israel, the nation that is like] [MET] a mother to you.
तिमी पुजारीहरू दिनमा ठेस खानेछौ । तिमीहरूसँगै अगमवक्ताहरू पनि रातमा ठेस खानेछन्, र तिमीहरूकी आमालाई म नष्ट गर्नेछु ।
6 It is because my people do not know [about me] that they will be destroyed. And their not knowing about me is because you priests have refused [to teach them about me]; so I will no longer allow you to be my priests. You have forgotten the things that I taught you, so I will forget [to bless] your children.
मेरा मानिसहरू ज्ञानको कमिले गर्दा नष्ट भइरहेका छन् । तिमी पुजारीहरूले ज्ञानलाई इन्कार गरेको कारणले, तिमीहरूलाई मेरो पुजारी हुनबाट म पनि इन्कार गर्नेछु ।तिमीहरूले मेरो व्यवस्थालाई बिर्सेका कारणले, म तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर भए पनि म तिमीहरूका छोराछोरीलाई बिर्सनेछु ।
7 As there are more and more priests, they have sinned against me more and more. So I will no longer allow them to be honored; instead, I will cause them to be disgraced.
पुजारीहरूका सङ्ख्या जति धैरै वृद्धि भयो, त्यति नै धेरै तिनीहरूले मेरो विरूद्धमा पाप गरे । आफ्नो आदरलाई तिनीहरूले लाजसँग साटे ।
8 The priests get food from [the offerings that the] people [bring in order to be forgiven for having sinned], [so] the priests want the people to sin more and more [in order that the people will bring them more and more offerings].
मेरा मानिसहरूको पापमा तिनीहरू पोसिन्छन्, र उनीहरूले धेरै दुष्टता गरून् भन्ने तिनीहरूको इच्छा हुन्छ ।
9 The priests [are as sinful] as the [other] people, and I will punish [all of] them for what they have done; I will pay them back for the [evil] things that they have done.
पुजारीहरूलाई जस्तो गरियो मानिसहरूलाई त्यस्तै गरिनेछः तिनीहरूका अभ्यासहरूका निम्ति म तिनीहरू सबैलाई दण्ड दिनेछु, तिनीहरूका कामहरूको बदला म तिनीहरूलाई दिनेछु ।
10 [The priests] will eat, but they will still be hungry; they will have sex with prostitutes, but they will not have any children, because they have abandoned [me], Yahweh,
तिनीहरूले खानेछन् तर तिनीहरूसँग येथेष्ट हुनेछैन, तिनीहरूले वेश्यागमन गर्नेछन् तर वृद्धि हुनेछैन, किनभने तिनीहरू परमप्रभुबाट धेरै टाढा गएका छन् ।
11 and they are devoting themselves to sleeping with prostitutes, and to [drinking] old wine and new wine, which results in their not being able to think clearly.”
तिनीहरूलाई यौनको छाडापन, दाखमद्य र नयाँ मद्य मन पर्छ, जसले तिनीहरूका समझलाई नाश पारेका छन् ।
12 “[You] my people request wooden idols [to tell you what you should do]! Like prostitutes who have left/abandoned their husbands,
मेरा मानिसहरूले काठका मूर्तिहरूसँग सल्लाह लिन्छन्, र तिनीहरूका लौरोले तिनीहरूलाई अगमवाणीहरू दिन्छन् । किनभने यौनको छाडापनको विचारले तिनीहरूलाई भ्रममा पारेको छ, र आफ्ना परमेश्वरमा विश्वसयोग्य हुन छोडेर वेश्याहरूले जस्तो व्यवहार तिनीहरूले गरेका छन् ।
13 you have abandoned [me] your God, and you are chasing after [other gods] on the tops of hills and mountains; you burn incense under oak [trees], poplar [trees], and other trees where there is nice/pleasing shade. So your daughters have become prostitutes, and your daughters-in-law have committed adultery.
पर्वतका टाकुराहरूमा तिनीहरूले बलि चढाउँछन् र पहाडहरूमा, फलाँट, लहरे-पीपल र तारपीनका फेदमा धूप बाल्छन्, किनभने छाया शितल हुन्छ । यसैले तिमीहरूका छोरीहरूले यौनका अनैतिक काम गर्छन्, अनि तिमीहरूका बुहारीहरूले व्यभिचार गर्छन् ।
14 But it is not [only] your daughters [whom I will punish] for having become prostitutes, and it is not [only] your daughters-in-law whom I will punish for committing adultery, because the men also are having sex with prostitutes, and they offer sacrifices with the prostitutes [who search for men at the] shrines [of the idols]. [They are all] foolish people, and they will [all] be ruined.
तिमीहरूका छोरीहरूले यौनका अनैतिक काम गर्दा म तिनीहरूलाई दण्ड दिनेछैन, न त तिमीहरूका बुहारीहरूले व्यभिचार गर्दा तिनीहरूलाई दण्ड दिनेछु । किनकि पुरुषहरूले पनि आफैंलाई वेश्याहरूकहाँ दिन्छन्, र पवित्र वेश्याहरूसँग तिनीहरूले अनैतिक काम गर्न सकून् भनेर तिनीहरू बलिदानहरू चढाउँछन् । यी मानिसहरू जसले बुझ्दैनन्, तिनीहरू तल फालिनेछन् ।
15 You Israeli [people] have abandoned me like [MET] those who commit adultery have abandoned their spouses. But do not cause [the people of] Judah to sin [also]. Do not go to Gilgal or go up to Beth-Aven [towns] [to worship idols there]. Do not make solemn promises [there, saying ‘Just as surely] as Yahweh lives, [I will do what I am promising].’
तँ इस्राएलले व्यभिचार गरेको भए पनि, यहूदाचाहिं दोषी नहोस् । ए मानिस हो, तिमीहरू गिलगालमा नजाओ माथि बेथ-आवनमा नजाओ, र “परमप्रभु जिउँदो हुनुभएझैं” भनेर शपथ नखाओ ।
16 You [people of Israel] are as stubborn as [SIM] a young cow. So there is no way [RHQ] that [I], Yahweh, will [provide food for them] [like a shepherd provides food for his] lambs [by leading them] to a nice meadow.
किनकि एउटी अटेरी साँडी-गाईले झैं इस्राएलले अटेरी भएर व्यवहार गरेको छ । भेडाहरूलाई घाँसे-मैदानमा लगेझैं परमप्रभुले कसरी तिनीहरूलाई खर्कमा लान सक्नुहुन्छ?
17 The people of Israel have chosen to worship idols [MET], [so] allow them [to do what they want to do].
एफ्राइमले आफूलाई मूर्तिहरूसँग मिलाएको छ । त्यसलाई वास्तै नगर ।
18 When their rulers finish drinking [their wine], they go to find prostitutes; they love their disgraceful behavior.
तिनीहरूका कडा दाखमद्यले छोड्दा पनि, तिनीहरू निरन्तर व्यभिचारमा गर्छन् । र त्यसको शासकहरूले आफ्नो लज्जास्पद कुरालाई ज्यादै मन पराउँछन् ।
19 But they will disappear [as though] [MET] they were blown away by a whirlwind. They will become [very] ashamed because of their offering sacrifices [to idols].”
हावाले त्यसलाई आफ्ना पखेटामा बेर्नेछ, र आफ्ना बलिदानहरूका कारणले तिनीहरू शर्ममा पर्नेछन् ।
