Genesis 5
1 Here is a list of the descendants of Adam. When God created humans, he caused them to be like him in many ways.

2 He created one man and one woman. He blessed them, and on the day that he created them, he called them ‘human beings’.
Mann und Weib [W. Männlich und weiblich] schuf er sie, und er segnete sie und gab ihnen den Namen Mensch, [H. Adam] an dem Tage, da sie geschaffen wurden. -
3 When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son who [grew up to] be just like him. That was the son he named Seth.
Und Adam lebte 130 Jahre und zeugte einen Sohn in seinem Gleichnis, nach seinem Bilde, und gab ihm den Namen Seth.
4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 more years, and during those years he became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und die Tage Adams, nachdem er Seth gezeugt hatte, waren 800 Jahre, und er zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
5 Adam lived 930 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Adams, die er lebte, waren 930 Jahre, und er starb. -
6 When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh.
Und Seth lebte 105 Jahre und zeugte Enos.
7 After Enosh was born, Seth lived 807 more years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Seth lebte, nachdem er Enos gezeugt hatte, 807 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
8 Seth lived 912 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Seths waren 912 Jahre, und er starb. -
9 When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan.
Und Enos lebte 90 Jahre und zeugte Kenan.
10 After Kenan was born, Enosh lived 815 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Enos lebte, nachdem er Kenan gezeugt hatte, 815 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
11 Enosh lived 905 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Enos waren 905 Jahre, und er starb. -
12 When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel.
Und Kenan lebte 70 Jahre und zeugte Mahalalel.
13 After Mahalalel was born, Kenan lived 840 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Kenan lebte, nachdem er Mahalalel gezeugt hatte, 840 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
14 Kenan lived 910 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Kenans waren 910 Jahre, und er starb. -
15 When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared.
Und Mahalalel lebte 65 Jahre und zeugte Jered.
16 After Jared was born, Mahalalel lived 830 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Mahalalel lebte, nachdem er Jered gezeugt hatte, 830 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
17 Mahalalel lived 895 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Mahalalels waren 895 Jahre, und er starb. -
18 When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.
Und Jered lebte 162 Jahre und zeugte Henoch. [H. Chanok: eingeweit, belehrt]
19 Jared lived 800 years after Enoch was born, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Jered lebte, nachdem er Henoch gezeugt hatte, 800 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
20 Jared lived 962 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Jereds waren 962 Jahre, und er starb. -
21 When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.
Und Henoch lebte 65 Jahre und zeugte Methusalah.
22 Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for 300 years after Methuselah was born, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Henoch wandelte mit Gott, nachdem er Methusalah gezeugt hatte, 300 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
23 Enoch lived 365 years altogether in close fellowship with God.
Und alle Tage Henochs waren 365 Jahre.
24 Then one day he disappeared, because God took him away [to be with him in heaven].
Und Henoch wandelte mit Gott; und er war nicht mehr, denn Gott nahm ihn hinweg. -
25 When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
Und Methusalah lebte 187 Jahre und zeugte Lamech.
26 Methuselah lived 782 years after Lamech was born, and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Methusalah lebte, nachdem er Lamech gezeugt hatte, 782 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
27 Methuselah lived 969 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Methusalahs waren 969 Jahre, und er starb. -
28 When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son,
Und Lamech lebte 182 Jahre und zeugte einen Sohn.
29 whom he named Noah, [which sounds like the Hebrew word that means ‘relief’], because he said, “He will bring us relief from all the hard work we have been doing to produce food from the ground that Yahweh cursed.”
Und er gab ihm den Namen Noah, [H. Noach: Trost, Ruhe] indem er sprach: Dieser wird uns trösten über unsere Arbeit und über die Mühe unserer Hände wegen des Erdbodens, den Jehova verflucht hat.
30 Lamech lived 595 years after Noah was born and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Und Lamech lebte, nachdem er Noah gezeugt hatte, 595 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
31 Lamech lived 777 years altogether, and then he died.
Und alle Tage Lamechs waren 777 Jahre, und er starb. -
32 When Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of a son whom he named Shem. Later he became the father of another son whom he named Ham, and later he became the father of another son whom he named Japheth.
Und Noah war 500 Jahre alt; und Noah zeugte Sem, [H. Schem: Name, Ruf] Ham [H. Cham: Bedeutung ungewiß] und Japhet. [Erweiterung, Ausbreitung; vergl. Kap. 9,27]
