Genesis 5
1 Here is a list of the descendants of Adam. When God created humans, he caused them to be like him in many ways.
Ceci est l’histoire des générations de l’humanité. Lorsque Dieu créa l’être humain, il le fit à sa propre ressemblance.
2 He created one man and one woman. He blessed them, and on the day that he created them, he called them ‘human beings’.
Il les créa mâle et femelle, les bénit et les appela l’homme, le jour de leur création.
3 When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son who [grew up to] be just like him. That was the son he named Seth.
Adam, ayant vécu cent trente ans, produisit un être à son image et selon sa forme, et lui donna pour nom Seth.
4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 more years, and during those years he became the father of other sons and daughters.
Après avoir engendré Seth, Adam vécut huit cents ans, engendrant des fils et des filles.
5 Adam lived 930 years altogether, and then he died.
Tout le temps qu’Adam vécut fut donc de neuf cent trente ans; et il mourut.
6 When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh.
Seth, ayant vécu cent cinq ans, engendra Énos.
7 After Enosh was born, Seth lived 807 more years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Après avoir engendré Énos, Seth vécut huit cent sept ans, engendrant des fils et des filles.
8 Seth lived 912 years altogether, and then he died.
Tous les jours de Seth furent de neuf cent douze ans, après quoi il mourut.
9 When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan.
Énos vécut quatre-vingt-dix ans, et engendra Kênân.
10 After Kenan was born, Enosh lived 815 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Enos vécut, après avoir engendré Kênân, huit cent quinze ans; et il eut des fils et des filles.
11 Enosh lived 905 years altogether, and then he died.
Tous les jours d’Énos furent de neuf cent cinq ans, après quoi il mourut.
12 When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel.
Kênân, ayant vécu soixante-dix ans, engendra Mahalalêl.
13 After Mahalalel was born, Kenan lived 840 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Kènan vécut, après la naissance, de Mahalalêl, huit cent quarante ans, et eut des fils et des filles.
14 Kenan lived 910 years altogether, and then he died.
Toute la vie de Kênân fut de neuf cent dix ans, après quoi il mourut.
15 When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared.
Mahalalêl, ayant vécu soixante-cinq ans, engendra Yéred.
16 After Jared was born, Mahalalel lived 830 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Mahalalél, après avoir engendré Yéred, vécut huit cent trente ans, et engendra des fils et des filles.
17 Mahalalel lived 895 years altogether, and then he died.
Tous les jours de Mahalalèl furent de huit cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans, puis il mourut.
18 When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.
Véred, ayant vécu cent soixante-deux ans, engendra Hénoc.
19 Jared lived 800 years after Enoch was born, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.
Yéred vécut, après la naissance d’Hénoc, huit cents ans; il eut des fils et des filles.
20 Jared lived 962 years altogether, and then he died.
La vie entière de Yéred fut de neuf cent soixante-deux ans, après quoi il mourut.
21 When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.
Hénoc vécut soixante-cinq ans, et engendra Mathusalem.
22 Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for 300 years after Methuselah was born, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.
Hénoc se conduisit selon Dieu, après avoir engendré Mathusalem, durant trois cents ans, et engendra des fils et des filles.
23 Enoch lived 365 years altogether in close fellowship with God.
Tous les jours d’Hénoc furent de trois cent soixante-cinq ans;
24 Then one day he disappeared, because God took him away [to be with him in heaven].
Hénoc se conduisait selon Dieu, lorsqu’il disparut, Dieu l’ayant retiré du monde.
25 When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
Mathusalem, ayant vécu cent quatre-vingt-sept ans, engendra Lamec.
26 Methuselah lived 782 years after Lamech was born, and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Mathusalem vécut, après avoir engendré Lamec, sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans; il eut encore des fils et des filles.
27 Methuselah lived 969 years altogether, and then he died.
Tous les jours de Mathusalem furent de neuf cent soixante-neuf ans, après quoi il mourut.
28 When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son,
Lamec, ayant vécu cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, engendra un fils.
29 whom he named Noah, [which sounds like the Hebrew word that means ‘relief’], because he said, “He will bring us relief from all the hard work we have been doing to produce food from the ground that Yahweh cursed.”
Il énonça son nom Noé, en disant: "Puisse-t-il nous soulager de notre tâche et du labeur de nos mains, causé par cette terre qu’a maudite l’Éternel!"
30 Lamech lived 595 years after Noah was born and became the father of other sons and daughters.
Lamec vécut, après avoir engendré Noé, cinq cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans; il engendra des fils et des filles.
31 Lamech lived 777 years altogether, and then he died.
Toute la vie de Lamec fut de sept cent soixante-dix-sept ans; et il mourut.
32 When Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of a son whom he named Shem. Later he became the father of another son whom he named Ham, and later he became the father of another son whom he named Japheth.
Noé, étant âgé de cinq cents ans, engendra Sem, puis Cham et Japhet.
