Genesis 36
1 (Here is/I will now give you) a list of the descendants of Esau, whose other name was Edom.
੧ਏਸਾਓ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ।
2 Esau married three women from the Canaan region: Adah, the daughter of Elon from the Heth people-group; Oholibamah, who was the daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon from the Hiv people-group;
੨ਏਸਾਓ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਏਲੋਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਆਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਬਓਨ ਹਿੱਵੀ ਦੀ ਦੋਹਤੀ ਸੀ
3 and Basemath, who was the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
੩ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਬਾਯੋਤ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ।
4 Esau’s wife Adah gave birth to Eliphaz. Basemath gave birth to Reuel.
੪ਆਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਏਸਾਓ ਲਈ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਨੇ ਰਊਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ
5 Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. All these sons of Esau were born while he was living in the Canaan region.
੫ਅਤੇ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਊਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ।
6 Jacob and Esau had very many possessions. The result was that they needed more land for their livestock. The land where they were living was not big enough for both of them. They had too much livestock. So Esau, whose other name was Edom, had taken his wives and sons and daughters and all the other members of his household, his sheep and goats and his other animals, and all the other things he had obtained in Canaan land, and they had moved to an area that was away from Jacob.
੬ਤਦ ਏਸਾਓ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ-ਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਗਾਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਾਈ ਸੀ, ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।
੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਧਨ ਐਨਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਰ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤਾਇਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹਿ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ।
8 They went to live in the Seir hilly area.
੮ਏਸਾਓ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ, ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਅਦੋਮ ਹੈ।
9 (Here is/I will now give you) another list of the male descendants of Esau. He was the ancestor of the Edom people-group who live in the Seir area.
੯ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਵਲੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਦੋਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।
10 Esau’s wife Adah gave birth to Eliphaz, and Esau’s wife Basemath gave birth to Reuel.
੧੦ਸੋ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਹ ਸਨ, ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਊਏਲ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ
11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
੧੧ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇਮਾਨ, ਓਮਾਰ, ਸਫੋ, ਗਾਤਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਜ਼ ਸਨ।
12 Esau’s son Eliphaz also had a (concubine/female slave whom he took as a secondary wife). Her name was Timna. She gave birth to Amalek. Those six men were grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.
੧੨ਤਿਮਨਾ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਦੀ ਰਖ਼ੈਲ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਲਈ ਅਮਾਲੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ।
13 Reuel’s sons were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.
੧੩ਰਊਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਹਥ, ਜ਼ਰਹ, ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਜ਼ਾਹ। ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ।
14 Esau’s wife Oholibamah, who was the daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, gave birth to three sons: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
੧੪ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ, ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਬਓਨ ਦੀ ਦੋਹਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਏਸਾਓ ਲਈ ਯਊਸ਼, ਯਾਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
15 (Here is/I will now give you) a list of the people-groups who were descendants of Esau. His oldest son Eliphaz was the ancestor of the Teman people-group, the Omar people-group, the Zepho people-group, the Kenaz people-group,
੧੫ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ: ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੌਠੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੇਮਾਨ, ਓਮਾਰ, ਸਫੋ, ਕਨਜ਼,
16 the Korah people-group, the Gatam people-group, and the Amalek people-group. They were descendants of Eliphaz and of Esau’s wife Adah. They lived in the Edom region.
੧੬ਕੋਰਹ, ਗਾਤਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਾਲੇਕ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ। ਇਹ ਆਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ।
17 The sons of Esau’s son Reuel were ancestors of the Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah people-groups. They were descended from Esau’s wife Basemath. They also lived in Edom.
੧੭ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਊਏਲ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਹ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ: ਨਹਥ, ਜ਼ਰਹ, ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਜ਼ਾਹ, ਇਹ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਰਊਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ।
18 The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah, whose mother was Anah, were ancestors of the Jeush, Jalam, and Korah people-groups.
੧੮ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਯਊਸ਼, ਯਾਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਹ, ਇਹ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨ।
19 That is the list of the sons of Esau, and the people-groups who were their descendants.
੧੯ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ।
20 (This is/I will now give you) a list of the descendants of Seir, who belonged to the Hor people-group, who were the first people-group who lived in the Edom region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
੨੦ਸੇਈਰ ਹੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ, ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਲੋਤਾਨ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਲ, ਸਿਬਓਨ, ਅਨਾਹ,
21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. Those seven men became ancestors of people-groups. Each of the people-groups had the same name as the name of their ancestor.
੨੧ਦੀਸ਼ੋਨ, ਏਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ। ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਰੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਹੋਏ।
22 The sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
੨੨ਲੋਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਮਾਮ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਮਨਾ ਲੋਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ।
23 The sons of Shobal were Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
੨੩ਸ਼ੋਬਾਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਅਲਵਾਨ, ਮਾਨਹਥ, ਏਬਾਲ, ਸ਼ਫੋ ਅਤੇ ਓਨਾਮ।
24 The sons of Zibeon were Aiah and Anah. This Anah was the one who discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was taking care of his father Zibeon’s donkeys.
੨੪ਸਿਬਓਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਅੱਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਹ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਅਨਾਹ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਿਬਓਨ ਦੇ ਗਧੇ ਚਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰਮ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਲੱਭੇ ਸਨ।
25 Anah had two children—a son named Dishon and a daughter named Oholibamah.
੨੫ਅਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀਸ਼ੋਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਸੀ।
26 Dishon’s sons were Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.
੨੬ਇਹ ਦੀਸ਼ੋਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਹਮਦਾਨ, ਅਸ਼ਬਾਨ, ਯਿਥਰਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਨ।
27 Ezer’s sons were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
੨੭ਏਸਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਬਿਲਹਾਨ, ਜਾਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਨ।
28 Dishan’s sons were Uz and Aran.
੨੮ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਊਸ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਨ ਸਨ।
29 The people-groups who were descendants of Hor lived in the Seir/Edom region. The names of the people-groups are Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
੨੯ਹੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਲੋਤਾਨ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਲ, ਸਿਬਓਨ, ਅਨਾਹ,
੩੦ਦੀਸ਼ੋਨ, ਏਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ, ਇਹ ਹੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ।
31 These are the names of the kings who ruled in Edom before any kings ruled over Israel.
੩੧ਇਹ ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
32 Beor’s son Bela became the first king in Edom. The city where he lived was named Dinhabah.
੩੨ਬਓਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਲਾ ਅਦੋਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿਨਹਾਬਾਹ ਸੀ।
33 When Bela died, Zerah’s son Jobab/became the king. He was from Bozrah [city].
੩੩ਬਲਾ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਰਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਬਾਬ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਾਸਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਸੀ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
34 When Jobab died, Husham became the king. He was from the region where the Teman people-group lived.
੩੪ਯੋਬਾਬ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਮਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਹੂਸ਼ਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
35 When Husham died, Bedad’s son Hadan became the king. Husham’s army fought the army of the Midian people-group in the Moab region and defeated them. The city where Husham lived was Avith.
੩੫ਹੂਸ਼ਾਮ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਬਦਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਦਦ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ, ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਵੀਤ ਸੀ।
36 When Hadad died, Samlah became the king. He was from Masrekah [town].
੩੬ਹਦਦ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਮਸਰੇਕਾਹ ਵਾਸੀ ਸਮਲਾਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
37 When Samlah died, Shaul became the king. He was from Rehoboth [town] along the [Euphrates] river.
੩੭ਸਮਲਾਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੇ ਰਹੋਬੋਥ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਸੀ।
38 When Shaul died, Achbor’s son Baal-Hanan became king.
੩੮ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਅਕਬੋਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਆਲਹਾਨਾਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
39 When Achbor’s son Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became king. The city where he lived was named Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel. She was the daughter of Matred, who was the daughter of Me-Zahab.
੩੯ਬਆਲਹਾਨਾਨ, ਅਕਬੋਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਹਦਦ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਊ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਹੇਤਾਬਏਲ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮਤਰੇਦ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਜ਼ਾਹਾਬ ਦੀ ਦੋਹਤੀ ਸੀ।
40 (Here is/I will now give you) a list of all the people-groups that were descendants of Esau: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, Magdiel, and Iram. They all lived in the Edom region. The land where each people-group lived got the same name as the name of the people-group.
੪੦ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ, ਤਿਮਨਾ, ਅਲਵਾਹ, ਯਥੇਥ,

੪੩ਮਗਦੀਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਈਰਾਮ, ਇਹ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਸਤੀਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋਏ। ਏਸਾਓ ਅਦੋਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਰਖਾ ਹੈ।
