< Genesis 10 >
1 (This is/I will now give) a list of the descendants of Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. They had many children after the flood.
Estas pois são as gerações dos filhos de Noé. Sem, Cão, e Japhet; e nasceram-lhe filhos depois do diluvio.
2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
Os filhos de Japhet, são: Gomer e Magog, e Madai, e Javan, e Tubal, e Mesech, e Tiras.
3 The sons of Gomer were Askenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
E os filhos de Gomer, são: Asquenaz, e Riphath, e Togarmah.
4 The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
E os filhos de Javan, são: Elishah e Tarshish, Kittim, e Dodanim.
5 Those sons and their families who were descended from Javan lived on the islands and on the land close to the [Mediterranean] Sea. Their descendants became tribes, each with its own language and clans and territory.
Por estes foram repartidas as ilhas das nações nas suas terras, cada qual segundo a sua lingua, segundo as suas familias, entre as suas nações.
6 The descendants of Ham were Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.
E os filhos de Cão, são: Cush, e Mizraim, e Put, e Canaan.
7 The descendants of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The descendants of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
E os filhos de Cush, são: Seba, e Havilah, e Sabtah, e Raamah, e Sabteca: e os filhos de Raamah são, Scheba e Dedan.
8 Another one of Cush’s descendants was Nimrod. Nimrod was the first person on earth who became a mighty warrior.
E Cush gerou a Nimrod: este começou a ser poderoso na terra.
9 Yahweh saw that he had become (OR, caused him to become) a great hunter. That is why people say to a great hunter, “Yahweh (sees that you are/has caused you to be) a great hunter like Nimrod.”
E este foi poderoso caçador diante da face do Senhor: pelo que se diz: Como Nimrod, poderoso caçador diante do Senhor.
10 Nimrod became a king who ruled in Babylonia. The first cities over which he ruled were Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh.
E o principio do seu reino foi Babel, e Erech, e Accad, e Calneh, na terra de Shinar.
11 From there he went [with others] to Assyria and built the cities of Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
D'esta mesma terra saiu á Assyria e edificou a Ninive, e Rehoboth-Ir e Calah,
12 and Resen. Resen was a large city between Nineveh and Calah.
E Resen, entre Niniveh e Calah (esta é a grande cidade).
13 Ham’s son, Egypt, became the ancestor of the Lud, Anam, Lehab and Naphtuh,
E Mizraim gerou a Ludim, e a Anamim, e a Leabim, e a Naphtuhim,
14 Pathrus, Casluh and Caphtor people-groups. The Philistine people were descended from Casluh.
E a Pathrusim, e a Caslushim, (d'onde sairam os philisteus) e a Caphtorim.
15 Ham’s youngest son, Canaan, became the father of Sidon, who was his eldest son, and Heth, his younger son.
E Canaan gerou a Sidon, seu primogenito, e a Heth;
16 Canaan was also the ancestor of the Jebus, Amor, Girgash,
E ao Jebuseu, e Amorrheu, e Girgaseu,
E ao Heveu, e ao Arkeu, e ao Sineu,
18 Arved, Zemar and Hamath people-groups. Later the descendants of Canaan dispersed over a large area.
E ao Arvadeu, e ao Zemareu, e ao Hamatheu, e depois se espalharam as familias dos cananeus.
19 Their land extended from Sidon [city] in the north as far south as Gaza [town], and then to the east as far as Gerar [town], and then farther east to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim [towns], and even as far as Lasha [town].
E foi o termo dos cananeus desde Sidon, indo para Gerar, até Gaza; indo para Sodoma, e Gomorrah, e Adamah e Zeboiim, até Lasha.
20 Those are the descendants of Ham. They became groups that had their own clans, their own languages, and their own land.
Estes são os filhos de Cão segundo as suas familias, segundo as suas linguas, em suas terras, em suas nações.
21 Shem, the older brother of Japheth, became the father of Eber, and the ancestor of all the descendants of Eber.
E a Sem nasceram filhos, e elle é o pae de todos os filhos de Eber, o irmão mais velho de Japhet.
22 The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.
Os filhos de Sem, são: Elam, e Assur, e Arpachshad, e Lud.
23 The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.
E os filhos de Aram são: Uz, e Hul, e Gether, e Mash.
24 Arphaxad became the father of Shelah. Shelah became the father of Eber.
E Arpachshad gerou a Shelah: e Shelah gerou a Eber.
25 Eber became the father of two sons. One of them was named Peleg, [which means ‘division’], because during the time he lived, people on [MTY] the earth became divided and scattered everywhere. Peleg’s younger brother was Joktan.
E a Eber nasceram dois filhos: o nome d'um foi Peleg, porquanto em seus dias se repartiu a terra, e o nome do seu irmão foi Joktan.
26 Joktan became the ancestor of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
E Joktan gerou a Almodad, e a Sheleph, e a Hazarmaveth, e a Jerah;
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
E a Hadoran, e a Uzal, e a Diclah;
E a Obal, e a Abimael, e a Sheba;
29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All those people were descended from Joktan.
E a Ophir, e a Havila e a Jobab: todos estes foram filhos de Joktan.
30 The areas in which they lived extended from Mesha westward to Sephar, which is in the (hill country/area that has a lot of hills).
E foi a sua habitação desde Mesha, indo para Sephar, montanha do Oriente.
31 They are descendants of Shem. They became groups that had their own clans, their own languages, and their own land.
Estes são os filhos de Sem segundo as suas familias, segundo as suas linguas, nas suas terras, segundo as suas nações.
32 All those groups descended from the sons of Noah. Each group had its own (genealogy/record of people’s ancestors) and each became a separate ethnic group. Those ethnic groups formed after the flood and spread all around the earth.
