Ezekiel 8
1 On the fifth day of the sixth month [of that year], almost six years after we Israeli people had been (exiled/forced to go to Babylon), I was sitting in my house. The elders of Judah were sitting in front of me. Suddenly the power [MTY] of Yahweh the Lord came on me.
Sucedeu pois, no sexto ano, no mês sexto, no quinto dia do mes, estando eu assentado na minha casa, e os anciãos de Judá assentados diante de mim, que ali a mão do Senhor Jehovah caiu sobre mim.
2 [in a vision] I saw someone who resembled a man. Below his waist, [his body] was like fire, and above his waist [his body] was glowing like very hot metal.
E olhei, e eis uma semelhança como aspecto de fogo; desde o aspecto dos seus lombos, e daí para baixo, era fogo; e dos seus lombos e daí para cima como aspecto de um resplandor como de cor de âmbar;
3 He reached out what seemed to be a hand and grabbed me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up high above the earth, and in visions God took me [from Babylon] to Jerusalem. He took me [to the temple], to the north gate, to the place where there was an idol that caused Yahweh to be very disgusted and furious.
E estendeu a forma de uma mão, e me tomou pelos cabelos da minha cabeça; e o espírito me levantou entre a terra e o céu, e me trouxe a Jerusalém em visões de Deus, até à entrada da porta do pátio de dentro, que olha para o norte, onde estava o assento da imagem dos ciúmes, que provoca a ciúmes
4 And there in front of me was the brilliant light that indicated the presence of the God whom the Israeli [people previously worshiped. It was] like the vision that I had seen alongside the Kebar River/Canal.
E eis que a glória do Deus de Israel estava ali, conforme o aspecto que eu tinha visto no vale.
5 Yahweh said to me, “You human, look toward the north!” So I looked, and I saw in the entrance of the gate near the altar that idol that caused Yahweh to be disgusted and furious.
E disse-me: Filho do homem, levanta agora os teus olhos para o caminho do norte. E levantei os meus olhos para o caminho do norte, e eis que da banda do norte, à porta do altar, estava esta imagem de ciúmes na entrada.
6 He said to me, “You human, do you see what those Israeli people [MTY] are doing? They are doing detestable things here, things that will cause me to abandon my temple. But you will see things that are even more detestable.”
E disse-me: Filho do homem, vês tu o que eles estão fazendo? as grandes abominações que a casa de Israel faz aqui, para que me alongue do meu santuário? porém ainda tornarás a ver maiores abominações.
7 Then he brought me to the entrance of the courtyard. I looked and saw a hole in the wall.
E levou-me à porta do átrio: então olhei, e eis que havia um buraco na parede.
8 He said to me, “You human, dig through the wall here.” So I dug through the wall, and I saw a doorway inside.
E disse-me: Filho do homem, cava agora naquela parede. E cavei na parede, e eis que havia uma porta.
9 He said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things that they are doing there!”
Então me disse: Entra, e vê as malignas abominações que eles fazem aqui.
10 So I went in through the doorway and looked, and I saw, all over the [of a big room, drawings of] all kinds of creatures that scurry across the ground and [other] detestable animals, and drawings of all the idols that the people of [were worshiping].
E entrei, e olhei, e eis que toda a forma de réptis, e bestas abomináveis, e de todos os ídolos da casa de Israel, estavam pintados na parede em todo o redor.
11 In front of them stood 70 elders of Israel. Jaazaniah, the son of Shaphan, was standing among them. Each of them was holding a pan in which incense was burning, and fragrant smoke of the burning incense was rising up.
E setenta homens dos anciãos da casa de Israel, com Jaazanias, filho de Saphan, que estava no meio deles, estavam em pé diante deles, e cada um tinha na mão o seu incensário; e subia uma espessa nuvem de incenso.
12 Yahweh said to me, “You human, look at [RHQ] what the Israeli elders are doing here in the darkness, each of them standing in front of the shrine of his own idol! They are saying, ‘Yahweh does not see us; Yahweh has deserted this country.’”
Então me disse: Viste, porventura, filho do homem, o que os anciãos da casa de Israel fazem nas trevas, cada um nas suas câmaras pintadas de imagens? porque dizem: O Senhor não nos vê; já desamparou o Senhor a terra.
13 He also said, “But you will see things that are even more detestable!”
E disse-me: Ainda tornarás a ver maiores abominações, que estes fazem.
14 Then he took me to the entrance at the north gate of the temple. I saw women sitting there, mourning for [the death of the god of the people of Babylonia], Tammuz.
E levou-me à entrada da porta da casa do Senhor, que está da banda do norte, e eis ali estavam mulheres assentadas chorando a Tammuz.
15 He said to me, “You human, you see this [RHQ], but you will see things that are more detestable than this!”
E disse-me: Viste porventura isto, filho do homem? ainda tornarás a ver abominações maiores do que estas.
16 Then he took me into the courtyard outside the temple. There at the entrance of the temple, between the porch and the altar, were about 25 men. Their backs were toward the temple and their faces were toward the east, and they were bowing down to [worship] the sun [as it rose] in the east.
E levou-me para o átrio interior da casa do Senhor, e eis que estavam à entrada do templo do Senhor, entre o pórtico e o altar, quase vinte e cinco homens, voltadas as costas para o templo do Senhor, e virados os rostos para o oriente; e eles adoravam o sol virados para o oriente.
17 He said to me, “You human, you see [RHQ] what they are doing. [Do you think that] it is not important that these men of Judah are doing these detestable things here? [But they are doing other terrible things]. They are acting violently throughout their country, and continually causing me to be angry. Look at them! They are insulting me by their actions [IDM]!
Então me disse: Viste isto, filho do homem? há porventura coisa mais leviana para a casa de Judá, do que fazer tais abominações, que fazem aqui? havendo enchido a terra de violência, tornam a irritar-me; porque eis que eles chegam o ramo ao nariz.
18 So I will show them that I am very angry. I will not pity them or act mercifully toward them. And even if they shout to me [to help them], I will not pay attention to them.”
Pelo que também eu usarei com eles de furor; o meu olho não poupará, nem me apiedarei: e, ainda que me gritem aos ouvidos com grande voz, contudo não os ouvirei.
