Ezekiel 8
1 On the fifth day of the sixth month [of that year], almost six years after we Israeli people had been (exiled/forced to go to Babylon), I was sitting in my house. The elders of Judah were sitting in front of me. Suddenly the power [MTY] of Yahweh the Lord came on me.
੧ਛੇਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਪੰਜ ਤਾਰੀਖ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਇਆ।
2 [in a vision] I saw someone who resembled a man. Below his waist, [his body] was like fire, and above his waist [his body] was glowing like very hot metal.
੨ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇੱਕ ਰੂਪ ਅੱਗ ਵਰਗਾ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਅੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੱਕ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੀ।
3 He reached out what seemed to be a hand and grabbed me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up high above the earth, and in visions God took me [from Babylon] to Jerusalem. He took me [to the temple], to the north gate, to the place where there was an idol that caused Yahweh to be very disgusted and furious.
੩ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਵੇਹੜੇ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਣਖ ਭੜਕਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
4 And there in front of me was the brilliant light that indicated the presence of the God whom the Israeli [people previously worshiped. It was] like the vision that I had seen alongside the Kebar River/Canal.
੪ਵੇਖੋ, ਉੱਥੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
5 Yahweh said to me, “You human, look toward the north!” So I looked, and I saw in the entrance of the gate near the altar that idol that caused Yahweh to be disgusted and furious.
੫ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਚੁੱਕ। ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ, ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਅਣਖ ਦੀ ਉਹੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।
6 He said to me, “You human, do you see what those Israeli people [MTY] are doing? They are doing detestable things here, things that will cause me to abandon my temple. But you will see things that are even more detestable.”
੬ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੇਖੇਂਗਾ।
7 Then he brought me to the entrance of the courtyard. I looked and saw a hole in the wall.
੭ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਹੜੇ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੰਧ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਛੇਕ ਹੈ।
8 He said to me, “You human, dig through the wall here.” So I dug through the wall, and I saw a doorway inside.
੮ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਕੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਇੱਕ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਸੀ।
9 He said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things that they are doing there!”
੯ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ!
10 So I went in through the doorway and looked, and I saw, all over the [of a big room, drawings of] all kinds of creatures that scurry across the ground and [other] detestable animals, and drawings of all the idols that the people of [were worshiping].
੧੦ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਹਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਿੱਸਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਲੀਤ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
11 In front of them stood 70 elders of Israel. Jaazaniah, the son of Shaphan, was standing among them. Each of them was holding a pan in which incense was burning, and fragrant smoke of the burning incense was rising up.
੧੧ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਰ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਖਲੋਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਅਜ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖਲੋਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਧੂਪਦਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਫ਼ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
12 Yahweh said to me, “You human, look at [RHQ] what the Israeli elders are doing here in the darkness, each of them standing in front of the shrine of his own idol! They are saying, ‘Yahweh does not see us; Yahweh has deserted this country.’”
੧੨ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਆਪਣੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
13 He also said, “But you will see things that are even more detestable!”
੧੩ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੇਖੇਂਗਾ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
14 Then he took me to the entrance at the north gate of the temple. I saw women sitting there, mourning for [the death of the god of the people of Babylonia], Tammuz.
੧੪ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉੱਥੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਤੰਮੂਜ ਨੂੰ ਰੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
15 He said to me, “You human, you see this [RHQ], but you will see things that are more detestable than this!”
੧੫ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੇਖੇਂਗਾ।
16 Then he took me into the courtyard outside the temple. There at the entrance of the temple, between the porch and the altar, were about 25 men. Their backs were toward the temple and their faces were toward the east, and they were bowing down to [worship] the sun [as it rose] in the east.
੧੬ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਵੇਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੈਕਲ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿਉੜ੍ਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਲੱਗਭਗ ਪੱਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਨ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੈਕਲ ਵੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
17 He said to me, “You human, you see [RHQ] what they are doing. [Do you think that] it is not important that these men of Judah are doing these detestable things here? [But they are doing other terrible things]. They are acting violently throughout their country, and continually causing me to be angry. Look at them! They are insulting me by their actions [IDM]!
੧੭ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ? ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਡਾਲੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
18 So I will show them that I am very angry. I will not pity them or act mercifully toward them. And even if they shout to me [to help them], I will not pay attention to them.”
੧੮ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਕਹਿਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਾਓ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਦਯਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਤਰਸ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਚੀਕ-ਚੀਕ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਾਂਗਾ।
