< Ezekiel 8 >

1 On the fifth day of the sixth month [of that year], almost six years after we Israeli people had been (exiled/forced to go to Babylon), I was sitting in my house. The elders of Judah were sitting in front of me. Suddenly the power [MTY] of Yahweh the Lord came on me.
Nʼafọ nke isii, nʼọnwa nke isii, nʼụbọchị nke ise nke ọnwa ahụ, mgbe mụ onwe m nọdụ ala nʼụlọ m, ndị okenye Juda na-anọdụkwa ala nʼihu m, aka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị dịkwasịrị m nʼahụ nʼebe ahụ.
2 [in a vision] I saw someone who resembled a man. Below his waist, [his body] was like fire, and above his waist [his body] was glowing like very hot metal.
Ahụrụ m oyiyi yiri mmadụ. Akụkụ oyiyi a nke dị site nʼụkwụ ya ruo nʼala ya na-acha dịka ọkụ, sitekwanụ nʼụkwụ ya rigoo, ọ na-egbu nnọọ amụma dịka nkume amba dị oke ọnụahịa.
3 He reached out what seemed to be a hand and grabbed me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up high above the earth, and in visions God took me [from Babylon] to Jerusalem. He took me [to the temple], to the north gate, to the place where there was an idol that caused Yahweh to be very disgusted and furious.
Oyiyi a setịpụrụ ihe dịka aka mmadụ, jiri ya jide m nʼagịrị isi m. Mgbe ahụ, Mmụọ nke Chineke buliri m elu nʼetiti ala na mbara eluigwe. Nʼime ọhụ nke Chineke, o buuru m jee Jerusalem, nʼọnụ ụzọ ama nke dị nʼugwu, nʼime ogige ya, ebe arụsị ahụ na-akpasu ekworo guzo.
4 And there in front of me was the brilliant light that indicated the presence of the God whom the Israeli [people previously worshiped. It was] like the vision that I had seen alongside the Kebar River/Canal.
Ma, lee, ebube Chineke Izrel jupụtara nʼebe ahụ, dị ka m si hụ ya na mbụ na ndagwurugwu.
5 Yahweh said to me, “You human, look toward the north!” So I looked, and I saw in the entrance of the gate near the altar that idol that caused Yahweh to be disgusted and furious.
Ọ sịrị m, “Nwa nke mmadụ, welie anya gị lee nʼụzọ nke ugwu.” Eweliri m anya m lee nʼụzọ ugwu, ma lee, nʼọnụ ụzọ e si abata nʼime ebe ịchụ aja, ahụrụ m oyiyi arụsị ekworo ka o guzo nʼakụkụ ugwu ya.
6 He said to me, “You human, do you see what those Israeli people [MTY] are doing? They are doing detestable things here, things that will cause me to abandon my temple. But you will see things that are even more detestable.”
Ọ sịrị m, “Nwa nke mmadụ, ị na-ahụ ihe ha na-eme, arụ dị egwu nke ụlọ Izrel na-eme nʼebe a, ihe ndị ga-achụpụ m nʼebe dị anya site nʼebe nsọ m? Ma ị ga-ahụkwa ihe arụ ndị dị ukwuu karịa ndị a.”
7 Then he brought me to the entrance of the courtyard. I looked and saw a hole in the wall.
O mere ka m guzo nʼọnụ ụzọ ogige ahụ, mgbe m lere anya, ahụrụ m oghere dị nʼaja ụlọ ahụ.
8 He said to me, “You human, dig through the wall here.” So I dug through the wall, and I saw a doorway inside.
Ọ sịrị m, “Nwa nke mmadụ, ugbu a gwupuo aja ụlọ a.” Mgbe m gwupuru ya, ahụrụ m ọnụ ụzọ e si aba nʼebe ahụ.
9 He said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things that they are doing there!”
Ọ sịrị m, “Banye nʼime ka ị hụ ihe arụ ọjọọ niile nke ha na-eme nʼebe a.”
10 So I went in through the doorway and looked, and I saw, all over the [of a big room, drawings of] all kinds of creatures that scurry across the ground and [other] detestable animals, and drawings of all the idols that the people of [were worshiping].
Abanyere m hụ na ihe jupụtara nʼahụ ụlọ ahụ bụ naanị oyiyi e sere ese, nke ihe na-akpụ akpụ dịka agwọ dị iche iche, ngwere na anụmanụ rụrụ arụ dị iche iche, tinyekwara arụsị niile nke ụlọ Izrel na-efe.
11 In front of them stood 70 elders of Israel. Jaazaniah, the son of Shaphan, was standing among them. Each of them was holding a pan in which incense was burning, and fragrant smoke of the burning incense was rising up.
Nʼihu ihe ndị a, ka iri ndị okenye asaa nke ụlọ Izrel, ha na Jaazanaya nwa Shefan guzo nʼebe ahụ. Onye ọbụla nʼime ha ji ihe nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ nʼaka ya, anwụrụ ọkụ si nʼihe nsure ọkụ ndị a na-agbagokwa elu.
12 Yahweh said to me, “You human, look at [RHQ] what the Israeli elders are doing here in the darkness, each of them standing in front of the shrine of his own idol! They are saying, ‘Yahweh does not see us; Yahweh has deserted this country.’”
Ọ sịrị m, “Nwa nke mmadụ, ị hụla ihe ndị okenye ụlọ Izrel na-eme nʼọchịchịrị, onye ọbụla nʼime ụlọ ya nʼihu arụsị ya? Ma ha na-asị, ‘Onyenwe anyị adịghị ahụ anyị, O sitela nʼala anyị wezuga onwe ya.’”
13 He also said, “But you will see things that are even more detestable!”
Ọzọ, ọ sịrị m, “Ị ga-ahụkwa oke ihe arụ karịrị ndị a ha na-eme!”
14 Then he took me to the entrance at the north gate of the temple. I saw women sitting there, mourning for [the death of the god of the people of Babylonia], Tammuz.
O mere ka m bịakwa nʼọnụ ụzọ ahụ dị nʼakụkụ ugwu nke ụlọnsọ nke Onyenwe anyị. Nʼebe ahụ, ahụrụ m ndị inyom nọ na-akwa akwa nʼihi Tamuz, chi ha.
15 He said to me, “You human, you see this [RHQ], but you will see things that are more detestable than this!”
Mgbe ahụ, ọ sịrị m, “Ị hụla ihe ndị a, nwa nke mmadụ? Ị ga-ahụkwa ihe arụ ndị dị ukwuu karịa ndị a.”
16 Then he took me into the courtyard outside the temple. There at the entrance of the temple, between the porch and the altar, were about 25 men. Their backs were toward the temple and their faces were toward the east, and they were bowing down to [worship] the sun [as it rose] in the east.
O mere ka m baa nʼime ogige dị nʼime ụlọ ukwu nke Onyenwe anyị, nʼebe ahụ, nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọnsọ ukwu nke Onyenwe anyị, nʼagbata ebe ịchụ aja na mpụta ọnụ ụlọ ahụ, ka ihe ruru iri mmadụ abụọ na ise guzo, chee ihu ha nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ na-efe anyanwụ. Ha gbakụtara ụlọnsọ ukwu nke Onyenwe anyị azụ mgbe ha na-eche ihu nʼọwụwa anyanwụ na-akpọ isiala nye anyanwụ.
17 He said to me, “You human, you see [RHQ] what they are doing. [Do you think that] it is not important that these men of Judah are doing these detestable things here? [But they are doing other terrible things]. They are acting violently throughout their country, and continually causing me to be angry. Look at them! They are insulting me by their actions [IDM]!
Ọ sịrị m, “Ị hụla nke a, nwa nke mmadụ? Ọ bụ ihe dị nta nye ụlọ Juda, bụ ime ihe arụ niile ndị a ha na-eme nʼebe a? Ha ga-ejikwa ihe ike mejupụta ala, siri otu a na-akpasu m iwe mgbe niile? Lee ka ha si nọgide na-akparị m, na-etinye alaka nʼimi ha.
18 So I will show them that I am very angry. I will not pity them or act mercifully toward them. And even if they shout to me [to help them], I will not pay attention to them.”
Nʼihi ya, aga m eme ka ha nụrụ ụfụ iwe m, ọ dịkwaghị onye m ga-ahapụ. Ọ bụrụkwa na ha anọgide na-ebe akwa nʼoke olu, agaghị m aṅa ha ntị.”
