Ezekiel 38
1 Yahweh gave me another message. He said to me,
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
2 “You human, turn and face Magog, the country where Gog [is the king]. He is [also] the ruler of [the nations of] Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy about [the terrible things that will happen to] him,
Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage contre la terre de Magog et contre Gog, prince de Rhos, de Mésoch et de Thubal, et prophétise contre lui.
3 and say, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: Gog, you who rule Meshech and Tubal, I am opposed to you.
Et dis-lui: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Maître: Voilà que je suis contre toi, prince de Rhos, de Mésoch et de Thubal.
4 [It will be as though] I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws and bring you [to Israel]—you and all of your army, [including your] horses and men carrying weapons who ride the horses, and many other soldiers carrying large shields and small shields, all of them carrying swords.
Je rassemblerai ton peuple et toute ton armée, chevaux et cavaliers, tous portant cuirasse; troupe nombreuse armée d'écus, de casques et de glaives.
5 [Armies from] Persia, Ethiopia, and Put/Libya will also come, all of them with shields and helmets.
Perses, Éthiopiens et Libyens, tous portant casque et bouclier,
6 An army from Gomer [north of Israel] will come, and an army from Togarmah far north [of Israel] will come. Armies of many nations will accompany you.’
Gomer et tous ceux qui lui appartiennent, la maison de Thorgama aux dernières limites du nord, et tous ceux qui lui appartiennent, et beaucoup de nations seront avec toi.
7 [Tell Gog, ] ‘Get ready and be prepared to be the commander of all those groups of soldiers.
Prépare-toi, sois tout prêt, toi et toute ta troupe réunie autour de toi, et sois pour moi un rempart;
8 At some future time, I will command you to lead those armies to attack [Israel], a country whose [buildings] have been rebuilt after [they were destroyed in] wars. Their people will have been brought back from many nations [to live again] on the hills of Israel, which had been deserted for a long time. They had been brought back from [other] nations and will be living peacefully.
Et il se préparera à la fin de bien des jours, et à la fin des temps il viendra, et il entrera dans une terre sauvée du glaive, quand les peuples de maintes nations étaient rassemblés contre la terre d'Israël, qui avait été entièrement dévastée; et il est venu d'entre les gentils, et ils habiteront tous en paix.
9 You and all those armies from many nations will go up to Israel, advancing like [SIM] a big storm. Your army will be like a huge cloud that covers the land.
Et tu te répandras comme la pluie; et comme une nuée tu viendras couvrir la terre, et tu seras là, toi et tous ceux qui t'appartiennent, et beaucoup de nations avec toi.
10 But this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: On that day, you will have an idea about [DOU] doing an evil thing.
Or voici ce que dit le Seigneur Maître: En ce jour-là ceci adviendra: des pensées s'élèveront en ton cœur, et tu concevras de mauvais desseins.
11 You will say [to yourself], “My [army] will invade a country where the villages do not have walls around them. We will attack people who are peaceful and do not suspect/think [that they will be attacked]. Their towns and villages do not have walls with gates and bars.
Et tu diras: J'entrerai en une terre répudiée; je marcherai contre des hommes qui vivent dans le repos, qui demeurent chez eux en paix, qui habitent une terre où il n'y a ni remparts, ni portes, ni verrous.
12 So [it will be easy for] us to attack the people who are living again in those towns that were previously destroyed. They are people who have been gathered from many countries [where they had lived for many years], people who now live safely in their land with all their livestock and other possessions. They are living in the country that is in the middle of the most important countries (OR, [that they think is] [IRO] the most important country) in the world. Our soldiers will take away [DOU] all their valuable possessions.”
Saisis donc cette proie; pille ces dépouilles; porte les mains sur cette terre déserte et repeuplée, sur ce peuple rassemblé d'entre maintes nations, ayant acquis des richesses, et habitant l'intérieur des terres.
13 [Then people of] Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and nearby villages will come and say to you, “Are you gathering all your soldiers in order to [attack Israel and] take away all their silver and gold? [Do you plan] to take away their livestock and all their other valuable possessions [DOU]?”’
Saba et Dédan, les marchands de Carthage et toutes leurs villes te diront: Tu es venu pour saisir une proie et piller des dépouilles; tu as rassemblé tes troupes pour prendre de l'argent et de l'or, pour emporter des richesses et recueillir du butin.
14 Therefore, you human, prophesy about Gog and say to him, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: At that time, when my people of Israel are living safely, you will certainly think about that.
À cause de cela, prophétise, fils de l'homme, et dis à Gog: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: N'est-ce pas dans le temps même où mon peuple Israël sera en paix dans sa demeure, que tu t'élèveras?
15 So you will come from your place far north [of Israel], with the armies of many [other] nations, all riding horses, a huge army.
Alors tu viendras des régions les plus lointaines du nord, et il y aura avec toi divers peuples, tous rassemblés en grand nombre, immense armée de cavaliers.
16 You will march toward my Israeli people, and [your soldiers] will cover the land like a huge cloud. Gog, I will bring your army to attack the country that belongs to me, but [what I do] for you will show the people of other nations that I am holy.
Et tu marcheras contre mon peuple d'Israël, comme une nuée qui vient couvrir la terre. Or ceci arrivera vers les jours de la fin: je te conduirai sur ma terre, afin que toutes les nations me connaissent quand devant elles je me sanctifierai en toi.
17 This is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say to Gog: In past years, when I gave messages to my servants, the prophets [in Israel], there were messages [RHQ] about you. At that time, they prophesied for [many] years that I would bring your [armies] to attack my people.
Voici ce que le Seigneur dit à Gog: Tu es celui de qui j'ai parlé dès les jours d'autrefois, par la voix de mes serviteurs les prophètes d'Israël, annonçant qu'en ces années et ces jours-là je te conduirais contre eux.
18 [So] this is what I, Yahweh the Lord, say will happen: When your [army] attacks Israel, I will be very angry with you.
Et ceci adviendra: le jour où Gog viendra sur la terre d'Israël, dit le Seigneur Maître, ma colère éclatera
19 I will be very furious, and to show that I am angry, there will be a great earthquake in Israel, [where your armies will be].
Avec ma jalousie; j'ai parlé dans le feu de ma colère; et, en vérité, ce jour-là il y aura un grand ébranlement dans la terre d'Israël.
20 The fish in the sea, the birds, the wild animals, and the animals/creatures that crawl on the ground, and all the people on the earth will tremble because of what I [am doing]. Mountains will fall down, cliffs will crumble, and walls everywhere will fall to the ground.
Et les poissons de la mer trembleront en présence du Seigneur, ainsi que les oiseaux du ciel, et les bêtes des champs, et les reptiles qui se traînent à terre, et tous les hommes qui seront encore sur la face de la terre. Et les montagnes se fendront, et les vallons seront bouleversés, et toute muraille s'écroulera.
21 Gog, on all the mountains in the country that belongs to me I will cause your soldiers to fight against each other with their swords.
Mais alors contre lui-même j'appellerai tous les épouvantements, dit le Seigneur; et l'épée de l'homme se tournera contre son frère.
22 I will punish [MTY] you [and your soldiers] with plagues and murders [MTY]. And I will send down [from the sky], on you and your troops that have come from many nations, huge amounts of rain and hail and burning sulfur.
Et à mon tour j'exercerai sur lui mes jugements par la peste, par le sang, par les inondations, par une grêle de pierres; et je ferai tomber sur lui, sur ses compagnons et sur toutes les nations qui seront avec lui, une pluie de soufre et de feu.
23 By doing that, I will cause [the people of] many nations to know that I am very great and holy, and they will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do the things that I say that I will do].’”
Et je serai célébré, et je serai sanctifié, et je serai glorifié; et je me ferai connaître devant maintes nations, et elles sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
