Ezekiel 29
1 Almost ten [after we had been taken to Babylonia], on the twelfth day of the tenth [of that year], Yahweh gave me another message. [He said to me],
Vào ngày mười hai, tháng mười, năm thứ mười đời Vua Giê-hô-gia-kin đi lưu đày, Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền sứ điệp này cho tôi:
2 “You human, turn toward Egypt and proclaim the terrible things that will happen to the king of Egypt and all his people.
“Hỡi con người, hãy hướng mặt về Ai Cập và nói tiên tri chống nghịch Pha-ra-ôn cùng toàn dân Ai Cập.
3 Give the king this message from [me], Yahweh the Lord: ‘You king of Egypt, I am your enemy; [you are like] [MET] a great monster/crocodile that lies in the [along the Nile River]. You say, “The Nile [River] is mine; I made it [for myself].”
Hãy truyền cho chúng sứ điệp của Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao: Này, chính Ta chống lại ngươi, hỡi Pha-ra-ôn, vua Ai Cập— là con quái vật lớn nằm giữa dòng sông Nin. Vì ngươi đã nói: ‘Sông Nin là của ta; ta đã tạo ra nó cho ta.’
4 But [it will be as though] I will put hooks in your jaws and drag you out [from the river] onto the land, with fish sticking to your scales.
Ta sẽ móc lưỡi câu vào hàm ngươi và kéo ngươi lên khỏi sông cùng với cá dưới sông dính vào vảy ngươi.
5 I will leave you and all those fish to die in the desert; you will fall onto the ground, and your [corpse] will not be picked up and buried, because I have declared that your flesh will be food for the wild animals and birds.
Ta sẽ để ngươi cùng các loài cá chết cạn trong hoang mạc. Các ngươi bị phơi khô, xác không ai chôn, để làm thức ăn cho thú rừng và chim trời.
6 When that happens, all the people of Egypt will know that it is I, Yahweh, [who have the power to do what I say that I will do]. The Israeli people [trusted that you would help them]. But you have been [like] [MET] a reed pole in their hands.
Lúc ấy, toàn dân Ai Cập sẽ biết Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì ngươi chỉ là cây sậy đối với dân tộc Ít-ra-ên.
7 And when they leaned on that pole, it splintered and tore open their shoulders. When they leaned on you, [it was as though] you were a pole that broke, and as a result you wrenched their backs.
Khi Ít-ra-ên tựa trên ngươi, thì ngươi giập nát và ngã gục, và làm vai nó bị thương. Khi nó đè nặng trên ngươi, thì ngươi gãy, và làm lưng nó sụm xuống.
8 Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: “I will bring [your enemies to attack] you with their swords, and they will kill your people and your animals.
Vì thế, đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Ta sẽ sai quân đội chống lại ngươi, hỡi Ai Cập, và tiêu diệt cả người và thú vật.
9 Egypt will become an empty desert. Then the people of Egypt will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].” You [proudly] said, “The Nile [River] is mine; I made it!”
Đất Ai Cập sẽ trở nên tiêu điều hoang vắng, và người Ai Cập sẽ biết Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu. Vì ngươi đã nói: ‘Sông Nin là của ta; ta đã tạo ra nó,’
10 Therefore I am opposed to you and your streams, and I will cause Egypt to be ruined, and cause it to be an empty desert, from Migdol [in the north] to Aswan [in the south], as far [south] as the border of Ethiopia.
nên bây giờ Ta chống lại ngươi và sông của ngươi. Ta sẽ khiến cho đất Ai Cập trở thành hoang mạc vắng vẻ, từ Mích-đôn đến Si-ên, tận biên giới nước Ê-thi-ô-pi.
11 For 40 years no one will walk through that area, and no one will live there.
Suốt bốn mươi năm, sẽ không có một sinh vật nào đi ngang đó, dù người hay thú vật. Nó sẽ hoàn toàn bị bỏ trống.
12 Egypt will be barren/empty, and it will be surrounded by other desolate nations. The cities in Egypt will be empty and deserted for 40 years, surrounded by ruined cities in nearby nations. I will cause the people of Egypt to be scattered to countries [far away].
Ta sẽ khiến Ai Cập thành hoang vu giữa các nước hoang vắng. Các thành phố của ngươi sẽ vắng vẻ và hoang tàn suốt bốn mươi năm giữa các thành sụp đổ khác. Ta sẽ phân tán người Ai Cập đến các nước xa xôi.
13 But this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, [also] say: “At the end of 40 years, I will enable the people of Egypt to return home [again] from the nations to which they were scattered.
Nhưng đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Sau thời gian bốn mươi năm, Ta sẽ đem người Ai Cập khắp nơi trở về nước.
14 I will bring back the people of Egypt who had been captured, and I will enable them to live again in the Pathros area [in the south], where they lived previously. But Egypt will be a very unimportant [DOU] kingdom.
Ta sẽ phục hồi sự thịnh vượng của Ai Cập và đưa dân chúng từ nơi lưu đày về đất Pha-trốt thuộc phía bắc Ai Cập. Nhưng Ai Cập sẽ là một tiểu quốc tầm thường.
15 It will be the least important of [all] the nations; it will never again be greater than the nearby countries. I will cause Egypt to be very weak, with the result that it will never again rule over other nations.
Nó sẽ yếu hèn hơn các nước, không bao giờ đủ mạnh để thống trị các nước khác.
16 [When that happens, the leaders of] Israel will no longer be tempted to ask Egypt to help them. Egypt will be punished, and that will cause the Israeli people to not forget that they previously sinned by trusting that Egypt could help them. And the people of Israel will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].” '”
Khi ấy, người Ít-ra-ên sẽ chẳng còn cầu viện Ai Cập nữa. Cảnh tan nát của Ai Cập sẽ nhắc Ít-ra-ên nhớ lại tội đã tin cậy Ai Cập ngày trước. Rồi Ít-ra-ên sẽ biết Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao.”
17 Almost twenty-seven years [after we had been taken to Babylonia], on the first day [of the new year], Yahweh gave me this message:
Ngày một, tháng giêng, năm thứ hai mươi bảy đời Vua Giê-hô-gia-kin bị lưu đày, Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền sứ điệp này cho tôi:
18 “You human, the army of king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon fought very hard against Tyre, with the result that their heads were rubbed bare and their shoulders became (raw/full of blisters). But Nebuchadnezzar and his army did not get any valuable things from Tyre to reward them for their hard work [to destroy Tyre].
“Hỡi con người! Đội quân của Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, nước Ba-by-lôn, tiến đánh Ty-rơ rất gian nan, binh sĩ đều trọc đầu, sưng vai. Vậy mà Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa và quân của vua chẳng chiếm được gì, cũng không có gì để trả lương, đãi ngộ công lao binh sĩ.
19 Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: 'I will enable King Nebuchadnezzar’s army to conquer Egypt. They will carry away from there all the valuable things, in order that the king can give them to his soldiers.
Vì thế, đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Ta sẽ ban nước Ai Cập cho Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn. Vua sẽ lấy hết của cải, bảo vật Ai Cập để trả lương binh sĩ.
20 I will enable them to conquer Egypt as a reward for what they did [to Tyre], because [I], Yahweh say that [it was as though] his army was working for me, [doing what I wanted them to do, when they destroyed Tyre].
Phải, Ta sẽ ban Ai Cập cho vua làm phần thưởng vì công việc của vua, Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán, vì vua đã phục dịch Ta khi tiêu diệt Ty-rơ.
21 And some day Israel will become a glorious nation [MET] again. When that happens, I will cause the Israeli people to respect what you say [MTY]. And then they will know that [it has happened because] I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].'”
Ngày ấy, Ta sẽ làm cho dân tộc Ít-ra-ên nẩy ra sừng vinh quang, và rồi, Ê-xê-chi-ên, lời ngươi nói sẽ được tôn trọng. Khi ấy, chúng sẽ biết Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.”
