Ezekiel 25
1 [Some time later, ] Yahweh gave me another message. [He said, ]
La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 “You human, turn toward where the Ammon people- [lives], and prophesy [what will happen to] them.
"Fils de l’homme, dirige ta face contre les fils d’Ammon, et prophétise sur eux.
3 Say about them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: “You shouted joyfully when my [in Jerusalem] was destroyed, and when the country/land of Israel was ruined, and when the people of Judah were (exiled/forced to go) [to Babylonia].
Tu diras aux fils d’Ammon: Ecoutez la parole du Seigneur Dieu! Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Parce que tu as crié: Holà! sur mon sanctuaire, lorsqu’il fut profané, sur la terre d’Israël, lorsqu’elle fut dévastée, et sur la maison do Juda, lorsqu’elle partit pour l’exil,
4 Therefore, I am going to allow you to be conquered by people [who will come] from the east. They will set up their tents in your country and live there. And they will eat the fruit from [fruit trees] and drink the [from your cattle].
c’est pourquoi je te livre aux fils de l’Orient en toute propriété; ils installeront leurs campements chez toi et y établiront leurs habitations; c’est eux qui mangeront tes fruits, eux qui boiront ton lait.
5 I will [your capital city] Rabbah to become a pasture for camels, and the rest of Ammon to [only] a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
Je ferai de Rabba un pacage de chameaux et des fils d’Ammon un cantonnement de brebis, et vous saurez que je suis l’Eternel."
6 This is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: “You clapped your [joyfully] and stomped your feet, and laughed because you despised [the people in] the land of Israel.
"Oui, ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu, parce que tu as battu des mains, trépigné du pied, et que tu t’es réjouie avec tant de mépris, du fond de l’âme, au sujet du pays d’Israël,
7 Therefore, I will use my power [MTY] against you, and I will enable [other] nations [conquer you and] take away your valuable possessions. I will destroy you completely [DOU], with the result that you no longer will be a nation. When that happens, people will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].’”
c’est pourquoi je vais étendre ma main sur toi et te donner en proie aux nations; je te retrancherai du rang des peuples et te ferai disparaître d’entre les pays, je te réduirai à néant, et tu sauras que je suis l’Eternel."
8 This is [also] what Yahweh the Lord says: “[The people of] [south of Ammon] and [the people of] [south of Moab despised Israel and] said, ‘The people [MTY] of Israel have [as unimportant] as all the other nations!’
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: "Parce que Moab et Séir ont dit: Voilà que la maison de Juda est comme toutes les nations.
9 Therefore, I will destroy the cities that protect the borders of Moab, starting at Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon, and Kiriathaim, the finest cities in Moab.
C’Est pourquoi je vais entamer le flanc de Moab, en le privant des villes, de ses villes extrêmes, la parure du pays, de Béth-Hayechimot, Baal-Meôn et Kiriataïm.
10 I will enable people from the east to conquer Moab and also to conquer Ammon. As a result, [I will cause that] Ammon will no longer be remembered by other nations.
Aux fils de l’Orient, contre les fils d’Ammon, je donne ce district en possession, afin que les fils d’Ammon ne soient plus mentionnés parmi les peuples.
11 I will also punish [the people of] Moab. When that happens, they will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
Et j’infligerai des châtiments à Moab et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel."
12 This is [also] what Yahweh the Lord says: “[You people of] Edom are guilty of getting revenge on the people [MTY] of Judah.
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: "A cause des procédés d’Edom, quand il a tiré vengeance de la maison de Juda, et parce qu’il s’est rendu coupable par les représailles qu’il a exercées,
13 Therefore this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: 'I will use my power against [the people of] Edom and will get rid of their men and their animals. I will ruin the land from Teman [region in central Edom] to Dedan [region in the south of Edom], and many of their men will be killed [their enemies] swords.'
c’est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu, j’étendrai ma main sur Edom et j’en exterminerai hommes et bêtes; j’en ferai une ruine depuis Têmân, et jusqu’à Dedân ils tomberont sous l’épée.
14 The Israeli people will use their power [MTY] to get revenge on [the people of] Edom. They will show [the people of] Edom that I have been angry with them, and I will punish [MTY] them. The people of Edom will experience my getting revenge on them. Then they will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
Je confierai le soin de ma vengeance contre Edom à la main de mon peuple Israël; ils traiteront Edom conformément à ma colère et à ma fureur, et il se ressentira de ma vengeance, dit le Seigneur Dieu."
15 This is [also] what Yahweh the Lord says: “The Philistia people-group wanted very much to get revenge [on the people of Judah]. They very maliciously wanted to destroy [Judah].
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: "Parce que les Philistins ont agi par vengeance, qu’ils se sont livrés à des représailles dans un profond sentiment de mépris, cherchant à détruire dans leur éternelle haine,
16 Therefore this is what I, Yahweh the Lord, say: I am about to use my power [MTY] against the Philistia people. I will get rid of the Kereth people-group and all [those who live along] the coast of the [Mediterranean] Sea.
c’est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu, voici que je vais étendre ma main sur les Philistins, anéantir les Kerêthites et faire périr ce qui reste sur le littoral de la mer.
17 By the way I punish them, I will get great revenge on them and show that I am angry with them. And when I get revenge on them, they will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].'”
J’Exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances, par de violents sévices, et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel, alors que je ferai éclater ma vengeance parmi eux."
