Ezekiel 24
1 Almost nine [after we had been taken to Babylonia], on the tenth day of the tenth month [of that year], Yahweh gave me this message:
Im neunten Jahre, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats, erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
2 “You human, write down what day of the month this is. On this [the army of] King of Babylon has surrounded Jerusalem.
»Menschensohn, schreibe dir den Namen des Tages auf, eben dieses heutigen Tages! Gerade am heutigen Tage ist der König von Babylon vor Jerusalem gerückt!
3 Tell those rebellious Israeli people [MTY] [in Babylon] a parable. Say this to them: This is what Yahweh the Lord says: ‘Pour water into the [cooking] pot and put the pot [the fire].
So trage denn dem widerspenstigen Geschlecht ein Gleichnis vor mit folgenden Worten: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Setze den Kochtopf aufs Feuer, setze ihn auf und gieße auch Wasser hinein;
4 Put into the pot some pieces of [from one of your best sheep]: Put in the leg and shoulder, [which are] the best pieces. [Then] fill [the rest of] the pot with the best bones.
tu die Fleischstücke zusammen hinein, lauter gute Stücke, Lende und Schulter; fülle ihn mit auserlesenen Knochen;
5 Pile wood on the fire, and cook the bones and the meat in the boiling water.’
nimm eins von den besten Schafen und schichte auch die Holzscheite darunter auf; laß es tüchtig sieden, damit auch seine Knochen in ihm kochen.‹«
6 [Do that] because this is what Yahweh the Lord says: ‘Terrible things will happen [Jerusalem]; it is city that is full of murderers [MTY], [a city that is like] [MET] a scorched pot whose black residue inside cannot be removed. Take the pieces [of meat] out of the pot, but do not choose which pieces to take out.
Darum hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: »Wehe über die blutbefleckte Stadt, über den Kochtopf, an dem der Rost sitzt und von dem sein Rost nicht abgeht! Hole die Fleischstücke einzeln aus ihm heraus, ohne eine Auswahl bei ihnen zu treffen!
7 The blood of the people who were murdered in Jerusalem is still there; they were murdered on the bare rocks, not on the soil, where their blood could be covered.
Denn das von der Stadt vergossene Blut ist noch mitten in ihr: auf den nackten Felsen hat sie es fließen lassen, hat es nicht auf den Boden gegossen, daß man es mit Erde bedecken könnte.
8 But I am the one who caused the blood of those who were murdered [MTY] to be smeared on the bare rock, where their blood could not be covered; I did that in order [I could see it and] then be angry and get revenge.’
Um den Zorn in mir aufsteigen zu lassen, um Rache üben zu können, habe ich das von ihr vergossene Blut auf den nackten Felsen fließen lassen, damit es nicht bedeckt werde.«
9 Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord say: ‘Terrible things will happen to that city that is full of murderers [MTY]! [It will be as though] I also will pile high [the wood in the fire].
Darum hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: »Wehe über die blutbefleckte Stadt! Nun will ich selbst einen Holzstoß hoch aufschichten.
10 [So], heap on the wood and light the fire! Cook the meat well, and mix some spices with it; cook it until the bones are charred.
Bringe viel Holz herbei, zünde das Feuer an, koche das Fleisch gar, laß die Brühe einkochen und die Knochen anbrennen!
11 Then set the empty pot on the [of the fire] until the pot becomes [very] hot and the copper glows, with the result that the impurities and the rust will be burned up.
Dann stelle den Topf leer auf seine Kohlenglut, damit sein Erz glühend heiß wird und sein Schmutz in ihm zerschmilzt und sein Rost verschwindet.
12 [It is as though] I tried to get rid of that rust, but I was not able to do it, [not even] by putting that pot in a fire.
Aber alle Mühe ist bei ihm verloren, denn der viele Rost geht doch nicht von ihm ab; auch im Feuer bleibt der Rost an ihm sitzen.
13 The [in the pot represents] your immoral behavior. I tried to cleanse you from your wicked behavior, but you did not allow me to do that. So you will not be [from the guilt of your sin] [I have punished you and] I am no longer angry.
Wegen deiner schandbaren Unreinheit, weil ich dich habe reinigen wollen und du doch von deinem Schmutz nicht rein geworden bist, sollst du auch ferner nicht rein werden, bis ich meinen Grimm an dir gestillt habe!
14 I, Yahweh, have said [that I will surely punish you]. [And it is time] for me to do that. I will not change my mind; I will not refrain from punishing you, and I will not pity you. I will judge you [and punish you] as you deserve to be punished for your sinful behavior. [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh the Lord, have said it.”’”
Ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt: es trifft ein, und ich führe es aus, ohne nachzulassen und Schonung zu üben oder Mitleid zu haben. Nach deinem Wandel und nach deinem ganzen Tun will ich dich richten!« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.
15 [One day] Yahweh gave me this message:
Weiter erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
16 “You human, I am going to suddenly take from [your wife], whom you love very much. [when she dies], do [show that you are] sad or lament or cry.
»Menschensohn, wisse wohl: ich will dir die Lust deiner Augen durch einen plötzlichen Schlag nehmen; aber du darfst dann weder klagen noch weinen, und keine Träne soll dir kommen!
17 Groan quietly; do not cry [openly] for her. [Keep] your turban wrapped around your head, [instead of being barefoot, keep] your sandals on your feet. Do not cover the lower part of your [to show that you are sad]. And do not eat the kind of food that people who are mourning usually eat.”
Du magst im stillen seufzen, darfst aber keine Totentrauer anstellen; binde dir deinen Kopfbund um und ziehe deine Schuhe an deine Füße, lege dir keine Hülle um den Bart und genieße die Speisen nicht, welche die Leute dir schicken.«
18 [one morning] I talked to the [as usual], and that evening my wife [suddenly] died. The next morning I did what [Yahweh] had told me to do.
Nachdem ich hierauf am Morgen noch zum Volke geredet hatte, starb meine Frau am Abend, und ich tat am folgenden Morgen so, wie mir geboten war.
19 Then the people asked me, “What do the things that you are doing signify to us?”
Als nun die Leute mich fragten: »Willst du uns nicht mitteilen, was das für uns bedeuten soll, daß du so verfährst?«,
20 So I said to them, “[This is what] Yahweh told me:
antwortete ich ihnen: »Das Wort des HERRN ist folgendermaßen an mich ergangen:
21 ‘Tell the Israeli people [MTY] that I am about to destroy the temple, [the building] that you are very proud of, the building that you delight to look at. Your children whom you [in Jerusalem when you were forced to come to Babylon] will be killed [their enemies’] swords.
›Sage zum Hause Israel: So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Wisset wohl: ich will mein Heiligtum, den Gegenstand eures höchsten Stolzes, die Lust eurer Augen und die Sehnsucht eures Herzens, entweihen, und eure Söhne und Töchter, die ihr dort zurückgelassen habt, sollen durchs Schwert fallen.
22 [When that happens], you will do like I have done: You will not cover the lower part of your faces, or eat the kinds of food that people who are mourning usually eat.
Da werdet ihr es dann so machen, wie ich jetzt getan habe: um den Bart werdet ihr euch keine Hülle legen und die Speisen nicht genießen, welche die Leute euch schicken;
23 [You will keep] your turbans wrapped around your heads and [keep] your sandals on your feet. You will not mourn or cry, but your bodies will become very thin and slowly die because of your sins. And you will groan to each other.
euren Kopfbund werdet ihr auf dem Haupt und eure Schuhe an den Füßen behalten, werdet nicht klagen noch weinen, wohl aber im Bewußtsein eurer Verschuldung vergehen und einer gegen den andern seufzen.
24 Ezekiel will be a warning to you, and you must do what he has done. When that happens, you will know that I, Yahweh the [have the power to do what I say that I will do].’”
So wird euch also Hesekiel als Wahrzeichen dienen, so daß ihr, wenn es eintrifft, euch ganz so verhalten werdet, wie er sich verhalten hat; dann werdet ihr auch erkennen, daß ich Gott der HERR bin.‹«
25 [Then Yahweh said to me], “You human, [soon] I will destroy their sacred temple, which they rejoice about and which they respect and delight to look at, and [I will get rid of] their sons and daughters also.
»Du aber, Menschensohn, wisse wohl: An dem Tage, wo ich ihnen ihr Bollwerk nehmen werde, ihren Stolz und ihre innige Freude, die Lust ihrer Augen und die Sehnsucht ihres Herzens, dazu auch ihre Söhne und Töchter:
26 On that day, someone will escape [from Jerusalem] and come and tell you what has happened [there].
an demselben Tage wird ein Flüchtling zu dir kommen, um es dir persönlich zu melden.
27 When that happens, you will be able to speak again [MTY] [without constraint]. You two will talk together [DOU]. You will be a warning to the people; and they will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
An jenem Tage wird dir der Mund zugleich mit dem Eintreffen des Flüchtlings aufgetan werden: du wirst dann wieder reden können und nicht länger stumm sein. So wirst du ihnen zum Wahrzeichen dienen, und sie werden erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin.«
