< Ezekiel 23 >
LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik ac fahk,
2 “You human, [listen to this parable about Jerusalem and Samaria]. Once there were two women, daughters of the same mother.
“Kom, mwet sukawil moul la, sie pacl ah oasr tamtael luo.
3 They lived in Egypt. And from the time that they were young women, they became prostitutes. In that land, [men] fondled their breasts and caressed their bosoms [DOU].
Ke pacl se elos fusr ac muta in acn Egypt elos sa in sun mukul, ac ekla nu ke mutan kosro su eis molin kosro lalos.
4 The older [sister] was Oholah, and her [younger] sister was Oholibah. [It was as though] they became my [wives. Later] they gave birth to sons and daughters. Oholah represents Samaria, and Oholibah represents Jerusalem.
Inen ma se ma matu ah pa Oholah, (el aolla acn Samaria), ac inen ma se ma srik pa Oholibah (el aol acn Jerusalem). Nga payukyak seltal kewa ac oasr tulik nutik seltal kewa.
5 Oholah acted like a prostitute while she was [still] my wife. She desired to have sex with those she loved—soldiers from Assyria.
Oholah el nwe payuk nu sik, a el srakna orek kosro, ac srakna ke suk mukul ma el pwar se sin mwet Assyria.
6 [Some of them] were army officers and commanders. They wore [beautiful] blue [uniforms. They were] all handsome young men. Some of them rode horses.
Elos mwet mweun su nukum nuknuk sroninmutuk, mwet leum, ac yohk wal lalos ke mweun uh. Elos nukewa mwet oasku su kasrusr fin horse.
7 She acted like a prostitute toward all the important Assyrian officials, and became unacceptable to me by worshiping all the idols of the men she wanted to have sex with.
Mutan sac sie mutan kosro nu sin mwet leum lun un mwet mweun Assyria, ac lung koluk lal oru elan akfohkfokyal sifacna ke alu nu ke ma sruloala.
8 When she was a young woman in Egypt, she started being a prostitute, and [young] men caressed her breasts and had sex with her; and when she became older, she did not quit acting like a prostitute.
El tafwelana moul in kosro lal su el tuh mutawauk oru in acn Egypt, acn se el tuh mutawauk in eteya mwet we. Ke na pacl ma el srakna mutan fusr, mukul uh mutawauk in oan yorol ac oral oana sie mutan kosro.
9 So I allowed the Assyrian soldiers, whom she wanted to have sex with, to capture her.
Ouinge nga tuh eisalang nu sin mukul ma el lung koluk nu se in acn Assyria, su el arulana pwar selos.
10 They stripped all her clothes off her. They took away her sons and daughters. And then they killed her with a sword. [Other] women started talking about what had happened to her, about how she had been punished.
Elos sarukulla el koflufol. Elos sruokya tulik mukul ac tulik mutan natul, na elos unilya ke cutlass. Mutan in acn nukewa elos lesrikel ke ma sikyak nu sel inge.
11 [younger] sister Oholibah saw those [that happened to Oholah], but she was a prostitute, and she desired to have sex with men more than [older] sister had desired.
Tamtael wial ah, Oholibah, el ne liye ma inge, el koluk yohk lukel Oholah ke moul in kosro lal uh.
12 Oholibah [also] wanted to have sex with the Assyrian soldiers. [Some of them were] army officers and commanders. [They all] wore beautiful blue uniforms. They were all handsome young men. [Some of] them rode horses.
El wi pac arulana pwar in orek ma koluk nu sin mwet leum lun Assyria ac mwet mweun fulat su nukum nuknuk in mweun, oayapa mwet mweun su kasrusr fin horse — mukul inge kewa mukul fusr ac oasku lumahlos.
13 I saw what she did that caused her to became unacceptable to me, just like [older] sister.
Nga liye lah moul lal Oholibah arulana fohkfok. Tamtael se ma fusr inge koluk oana el su matu.
14 But she did [even] worse things. She saw drawings of men from Babylonia on the walls, painted in red.
Na el oru moul in kosro lal inge arulana alukela. El liye petsa ke mukul ma sroalla ke sinka in lohm uh ke tuhn srusra,
15 The [in the drawings] had belts around their waists and long turbans on their heads. They all resembled officers from Babylonia [DOU] [who rode in chariots].
wi pel su losya infulwalos ac mwe lohl na kato ma oan fin sifalos. Petsa inge nukewa petsaiyen leum lun mwet mweun Babylonia, su acn selos uh pa Chaldea.
16 As soon as she saw those drawings, she wanted to have sex with those men, and she sent messages to them in Babylonia.
Ke el liye petsa inge, lung koluk lal tuyang nu sel kaclos, ac el supwala mwet tutafpo in us kas lal nu yorolos in acn Babylonia.
17 Then the soldiers from Babylonia came to her, they lay in bed with her, and they had sex with her. Then she became disgusted with them and turned away from them.
Ac mukul Babylonia inge tuku oan yorol, ac elos akkolukyalla nwe ke na el srungalosla.
18 But when she continued to openly/boldly act like a prostitute [DOU], I became disgusted with her, and I rejected her like I had rejected [older] sister.
El ikasulak ye mutun mwet uh, ac akkalemye lah el sie mutan kosro. Na nga arulana kasrkusrak sel, oana ke nga tuh kasrkusrak sin tamtael se wial ah.
19 But she became even more immoral, as she remembered when she was a young woman who was a prostitute in Egypt.
Elahn kosro lal ah yokelik liki na meet ah, ke el sifil oru lumah fohkfok ma el tuh oru ke el mutan fusr ac kukakin manol in acn Egypt.
20 There she wanted to have sex with those who loved her, whose genitals were [very long], like [SIM] those of donkeys, and whose sexual emissions were huge, [like] those of horses.
Arulana yokla lung koluk lal nu sin mukul ma lungse orekma koluk uh ac moul lalos oana donkey mukul ku horse mukul uh.” (
21 So she desired to be immoral like she was when she was young, when men in Egypt caressed her bosom and fondled her breasts.”
Oholibah, ya kom lungse sifil kalweni moul koluk su kom tuh moulkin in facl Egypt, yen ma mukul uh tuh sritalkin titi lom an, ac kom eteya mwet uh we?)
22 “[represents you people of Jerusalem]. Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord say: ‘I will cause those [soldiers] who loved you but whom you turned away from because you became disgusted with them, to be angry with you. I will cause them to come and attack you from every side—
“Ke ma inge, Oholibah, pa inge ma nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, ac fahk nu sum uh: Kom tasak sin mukul ma pwar sum ingan, tuh nga ac fah oru elos in kasrkusrak sum, ac tuku raunikomla.
23 soldiers from Babylon and all the other places in Babylonia, [their allies] from Pekod and Shoa and [regions], and all the army of Assyria. [Yes], all of them are handsome young men, army officers and commanders, officers who ride in chariots, all riding on horses.
Nga fah usani mukul nukewa in acn Babylonia ac Chaldea — mwet Pekod, mwet Shoa, ac mwet Koa, ac mwet Assyria nukewa. Nga ac fah usani nufon mwet leum ac mwet fulat ke mweun su fusr ac oasku, aok mwet na yohk sripalos, ac mwet mweun fulat su kasrusr fin horse uh.
24 Their huge army will attack you with weapons, riding in chariots and pulling wagons [that will carry their army supplies]. They will surround you, carrying large and small shields, and wearing helmets. I will allow them to capture you and punish you in the way that they [always] [their enemies].
Elos ac fah mweuni kom liki acn epang, ac use sie u lulap ke mwet mweun, wi chariot ac wagon in wun kufwa lalos. Elos ac loangeyuk ke mwe loang ac susu osra, na elos ac fah raunikomla. Nga ac fah eiskomyang nu selos, ac elos ac fah nununkekom ke ma sap lalos sifacna.
25 Because I am very angry with you, I will cause them to act [very] furiously toward you. They will cut off your noses and your ears. Then, those who are still alive, they will kill with their swords. They will take away your sons and daughters, and a fire will burn up those who remain alive.
Ke sripen nga kasrkusrak sum, nga ac fah lela elos in oru na ma elos lungse oru nu sum ke na kasrkusrak lalos. Elos ac fah pakela infwem ac insrem, ac uniya tulik nutum uh. Aok, elos ac fah eisla wen ac acn nutum liki kom, na elos fah moul na isisyak.
26 They will strip off your clothes and your fine jewelry and take them away.
Elos ac fah sacla nuknuk lom an, ac eisla mwe yun saok nukewa lom.
27 In that way, I will stop all the immoral behavior that began when you became a prostitute in Egypt. You will no longer desire to do those things, or think [what you did in] Egypt.’
Nga fah tulokinya lung koluk lom ac lumah fohkfok nukewa ma kom tuh oru e ke pacl kom muta Egypt ah me. Kom fah tia sifil ngetang nu ke kutena ma sruloala, ku sifil nunku ke acn Egypt.”
28 This is what [I], Yahweh the Lord say: ‘I am about to allow those whom you hate, those you became disgusted with and turned away from, to capture you.
Pa inge ma LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk: “Nga ac fah eiskomyang nu sin mwet su kom kwase ac kasrkusrak se.
29 They will be cruel and take away everything that you have worked hard to acquire. They will leave you completely naked [DOU], and everyone will see that you truly are a prostitute.
Na mweyen elos kasrkusrak sum uh, elos ac fah eisla ma nukewa ma kom orekma kac uh, ac oru tuh kom in koflufolla, ac monum ikakelik oana sie mutan kosro. Lung koluk ac elahn kosro lom
30 It is because of what you have done that you will be punished like that; you have been an immoral prostitute; you have had sex with men of other nations, and you have caused yourselves to become unacceptable to me [worshiping] their idols.
pa pwen ma inge nu sum uh. Kom tuh sie mutan kosro nu sin mutunfacl uh, ac sifacna akfohkfokye kom ke ma sruloala lalos.
31 You have behaved [the people of Samaria, who are like] your [older] sister. So I will cause you to be punished [MET] like they were punished.’
Kom fahsrna in falken tamtael se wiom, na pa nga ac sot pac nu sum sie cup in kalya kom in nim.”
32 This is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘[You will suffer like people suffer when they drink from a cup a lot of strong alcoholic drink]: [It will be as though] you will drink from the cup that the people of Samaria drank from; a big and tall cup. Because of your drinking what is in that cup, many people will scorn you and make fun of you because there is a lot of liquid in that cup.
LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “Kom fah nimnim ke cup lun tamtael wiom; Cup se inge yohk ac loal. Mwet nukewa ac fah aksruksrukye kom ac angon kom; Cup se inge sessesla.
33 When you become very drunk, you will become very sad, [drinking what is in] that cup [MTY] will cause you to become ruined and deserted, like what happened [MET] to [the people of] Samaria, [who are like] [MET] your sister.
Ac fah oru kom in keok ac sruhila. Cup se inge mwe aksangeng ac mwe kunausla, Cup se inge ma lun Samaria, tamtael wiom.
34 You will drink all the liquid that is in that cup; then you will break that cup into pieces [use those pieces to] gash/cut your [because you will be very sad].’ [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have said it.
Kom fah nim nwe ke na lisr, Na ke ipin ma fokelik kac uh Kom fah seya iniwom. Nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, pa fahk ma inge.”
35 Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘Because you have forgotten me and rejected me [IDM], you must be punished for your immoral behavior and for [like] a prostitute.’”
Pa inge kas ma LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk uh: “Mweyen kom mulkinyula ac forla likiyu, kom ac fah keok ke sripen lung koluk lom ac ke elahn kosro lom.”
36 Yahweh said to me, “You human, you must [RHQ] [the people of those two cities represented by] Oholah and Oholibah. You must remind them of their detestable behavior:
Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik, “Mwet sukawil, ya kom akola in nununkal Oholah ac Oholibah? Akkolukyaltal ac fahk ke orekma koluk ma eltal tuh oru ah.
37 [It is as though the people of those cities] have committed adultery and have murdered [MTY] people. They have been unfaithful to me by [worshiping] idols. They have even sacrificed their own children, who belonged to me, to be food for their idols.
Eltal tuh orek akmas ac kosro — kosro nu ke ma sruloala, ac akmas ke wen natultal ma eltal uniya, su ac ma nutik. Eltal kisakin wen nutik inge nu ke ma sruloala.
38 They have done [disgraceful things]: They have caused my temple to be an unacceptable place for worship, and have not respected the Sabbath days.
Tia pa ingan mukena ma koluk eltal oru uh. Eltal akfohkfokye Tempul luk, ac aklusrongtenye len Sabbath su nga oakiya.
39 On the same day that they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my temple, which caused it to be an unacceptable place for worshiping me.
Len se na ma eltal uniya tulik nutik inge in kisakin nu ke ma sruloala ah, eltal tuku ac akfohkfokye Tempul luk!
40 They sent messages to men [in countries] far away. And when those men arrived, [the women of those two cities] bathed themselves for them, painted their eyebrows, and put on jewelry.
“Eltal nuna sap na sap in suli mukul in tuku nu yoroltal yen loesla me, ac mwet inge tuku. Tamtael luo inge ac yihla, ac sang mwe yun ac wek saok nu ke manoltal.
41 They sat on a beautiful couch, with a table in front of it on which they had put incense and [olive] oil that belonged to me.
Eltal ac muta fin mwe muta fisrasrsrasr, ac filiya sie tepu ma nwanala ke ma kato ac wo oan ye mutaltal, su ma inge pa ma keng ac oil in olive su nga sang nu seltal.
42 Soon there was a noisy crowd around them. Among the crowd there were men from Sheba who had come from the [of Arabia]. They put bracelets on the arms of the [two] sisters and put beautiful crowns on their heads.
Pusren mwet mutwata yoroltal inge ku in lohngyuk, ac mwet pus ac tuku oe yen mwesis me nu yoroltal. Elos sang mwe lohlpo nu ke paoltal, ac mwe yun in tefuro nu ke sifaltal.
43 Then I said about the woman who had become exhausted by her having sex with many men, ‘Now allow those men to act toward her as though she is a prostitute, because that is all that she is.’
Ac nga fahk nu sik sifacna mu elos oru nu sin mutan se ma totola ke moul in kosro lal uh, oana elan sie mutan su kukakin manol.
44 So they had sex [EUP] with those two women, Oholah and Oholibah, like men have sex with prostitutes.
Elos nuna kalwenina in fahsr nu yurin mutan kosro inge. Elos folok na nu yorol Oholah ac Oholibah, mutan na fohkfok moul la luo inge.
45 But righteous men will condemn them to be punished, like women who commit adultery and who murder others are punished, because those women commit adultery and they murder [MTY] others.
Mwet ma suwohs moul la uh ac nununkalos ke kosro ac akmas, mweyen eltal orek kosro, ac paoltal tuhnla ke srah.”
46 So this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: Bring a mob to attack Samaria and Jerusalem, and allow that mob to cause the people of those cities to be terrified, and to rob them.
Pa inge kas ma LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk uh: “Use sie un mwet an in aksangengyaltal ac pisrala ma laltal uh.
47 The mob will throw stones at [to kill them]; they will cut them into pieces with their swords, they will kill their sons and daughters, and burn down their houses.
Lela un mwet se inge in tanglaltal ac lainultal ke cutlass, uniya tulik natultal, ac esukak lohm seltal uh.
48 In that way I will cause them to stop their immoral behavior. It will warn other women to not imitate/do what you people of Jerusalem are doing.
Nga ac fah tulokinya ma koluk in tia sifil orek in acn inge nufon, in oana sie mwe akkalemye nu sin mutan tuh elos in tia orek kosro oana ke mutan luo inge oru ah.
49 [people of Jerusalem] will be punished for your immoral behavior and for your worshiping idols. Then you will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
Na komtal, tamtael luo ingan, nga fah kalyei komtal ke ma koluk lomtal ac ke sripen komtal alu nu ke ma sruloala. Na komtal ac fah etu lah nga pa LEUM GOD Fulatlana.”
