< Ezekiel 23 >

1 Yahweh said to me,
Wach Jehova Nyasaye nobirona kama:
2 “You human, [listen to this parable about Jerusalem and Samaria]. Once there were two women, daughters of the same mother.
“Wuod dhano, ne nitie mon ariyo mane nyi dhako achiel.
3 They lived in Egypt. And from the time that they were young women, they became prostitutes. In that land, [men] fondled their breasts and caressed their bosoms [DOU].
Negilokore ochode e piny Misri, kendo negichako chodo kapod gin nyiri matindo. Thundegi ne omul kendo ringregi mane pod silili ne odwany e pinyno.
4 The older [sister] was Oholah, and her [younger] sister was Oholibah. [It was as though] they became my [wives. Later] they gave birth to sons and daughters. Oholah represents Samaria, and Oholibah represents Jerusalem.
Nyako maduongʼ ne nyinge Ohola, to nyamingi ne en Oholiba. Ne gin joga kendo neginywolo yawuowi gi nyiri. Ohola en Samaria to Oholiba en Jerusalem.
5 Oholah acted like a prostitute while she was [still] my wife. She desired to have sex with those she loved—soldiers from Assyria.
“Ohola nohore gi timbe mag chode kane pod en mara; kendo ne en gombo mar chode mathoth gi joherane ma jolweny mag Asuria;
6 [Some of them] were army officers and commanders. They wore [beautiful] blue [uniforms. They were] all handsome young men. Some of them rode horses.
mane rwako lewni marambulu gi jotendgi kod jotend jolweny, ma giduto ne gin yawuowi matindo mabeyo moidho farese.
7 She acted like a prostitute toward all the important Assyrian officials, and became unacceptable to me by worshiping all the idols of the men she wanted to have sex with.
Nochiwore kaka ochot ne jo-Asuria duto mosomo kendo ne odwanyore gi nyiseche manono duto mag ngʼato angʼata mane chunye gombo.
8 When she was a young woman in Egypt, she started being a prostitute, and [young] men caressed her breasts and had sex with her; and when she became older, she did not quit acting like a prostitute.
Ne ok oweyo ngima mar chode mane ochako kapod en Misri, kuma ne chwo teroree kode kane pod otin, kendo nodwanyo ringrene mane pod silili, kendo nochopo gombo duto mag ringregi kuome.
9 So I allowed the Assyrian soldiers, whom she wanted to have sex with, to capture her.
“Kuom mano, ne aweye e lwet chotnego, mane gin jo-Asuria, ma gombone noketee.
10 They stripped all her clothes off her. They took away her sons and daughters. And then they killed her with a sword. [Other] women started talking about what had happened to her, about how she had been punished.
Ne gilonye duk, negikawo yawuote gi nyige gidhigo, kendo neginege gi ligangla. Nolokre ngero e kind mon wetene, kendo nonwangʼo kum mowinjore kode.
11 [younger] sister Oholibah saw those [that happened to Oholah], but she was a prostitute, and she desired to have sex with men more than [older] sister had desired.
“Nyamin mare ma Oholiba kata obedo ni noneno gik mane otimore ni nyamin, to gombone gi chode mare nomedore mi nokethore moloyo nyamin.
12 Oholibah [also] wanted to have sex with the Assyrian soldiers. [Some of them were] army officers and commanders. [They all] wore beautiful blue uniforms. They were all handsome young men. [Some of] them rode horses.
En bende nohewo jo-Asuria gi gombo; kaachiel gi jotendgi, jolweny momanore gi gige kedo, kendo moidho farese; giduto en gin yawuowi maber neno.
13 I saw what she did that caused her to became unacceptable to me, just like [older] sister.
Ne aneno kaka en bende nodwanyore; giduto kargi nyiri ariyo negiluwo yo machalre.
14 But she did [even] worse things. She saw drawings of men from Babylonia on the walls, painted in red.
“To en chodene noyombore. Kane oneno pichni mag joma chwo mogur e kor ot, ma gin pichni mag jo-Kaldea mogor makwar,
15 The [in the drawings] had belts around their waists and long turbans on their heads. They all resembled officers from Babylonia [DOU] [who rode in chariots].
kotweyo kamba madongo e nungogi kendo korwako kilemba mabeyo e wigi; ka giduto gichalo jotend farese lweny maywayo geche mag, jo-Babulon modak Kaldea.
16 As soon as she saw those drawings, she wanted to have sex with those men, and she sent messages to them in Babylonia.
Kane onenogi anena nii to nogombogi matek mooro joote irgi nyaka Kaldea.
17 Then the soldiers from Babylonia came to her, they lay in bed with her, and they had sex with her. Then she became disgusted with them and turned away from them.
Bangʼ mano jo-Babulon nobirone, modhi kode nyaka e kitanda mar chode, kendo ne gidwanye ka gipongʼ gi gombo. Kane jogo osedwanye kamano to ne olokore oweyogi kopongʼ gi mirima.
18 But when she continued to openly/boldly act like a prostitute [DOU], I became disgusted with her, and I rejected her like I had rejected [older] sister.
Kane odhi nyime kochodo gi wangʼ teko kendo koelo duge ne chwo, ne alokora aweye ka apongʼ gi mirima, mana kaka ne alokora aweyo nyamin.
19 But she became even more immoral, as she remembered when she was a young woman who was a prostitute in Egypt.
To kaka nomedo paro ndalo mane otin, kinde mane en ochot e piny Misri, e kaka nomedo donjo matut e chode.
20 There she wanted to have sex with those who loved her, whose genitals were [very long], like [SIM] those of donkeys, and whose sexual emissions were huge, [like] those of horses.
Kinde mane en Misri nogombo joma ne timo kode hera, joma duongʼ-gi ne chalo gi mar punda, kendo ma nyodo mane gigolo ne chalo mar faras.
21 So she desired to be immoral like she was when she was young, when men in Egypt caressed her bosom and fondled her breasts.”
Omiyo ne in-gi gombo mar chode kane pod in nyako matin e kinde mane in Misri, kane chwo mulo dendi kendo rucho thundeni ma pod tindo.
22 “[represents you people of Jerusalem]. Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord say: ‘I will cause those [soldiers] who loved you but whom you turned away from because you became disgusted with them, to be angry with you. I will cause them to come and attack you from every side—
“Kuom mano, Oholiba, ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: Abiro wako joherani mondo oked kodi, jogo mane ilokori iweyo ka iyi owangʼ, kendo abiro kelogi mondo giked kodi ka gia koni gi koni;
23 soldiers from Babylon and all the other places in Babylonia, [their allies] from Pekod and Shoa and [regions], and all the army of Assyria. [Yes], all of them are handsome young men, army officers and commanders, officers who ride in chariots, all riding on horses.
ma gin jo-Babulon, gi jo-Kaldea, chwo duto moa Pekod gi Shoa kod Koa, kaachiel gi jo-Asuria duto kodgi; yawuowi maber neno, ma giduto gin jotelo, jotend jolweny, gi joriemb farese, kod jotelo madongo, ka giduto giidho farese.
24 Their huge army will attack you with weapons, riding in chariots and pulling wagons [that will carry their army supplies]. They will surround you, carrying large and small shields, and wearing helmets. I will allow them to capture you and punish you in the way that they [always] [their enemies].
Gibiro bironi gi gig lweny, gi farese maywayo geche to gi oganda maratipo; gibiro kawo ruothegi mondo giked kodi ka gilwori giketi diere, ka gitingʼo kuodi madongo gi matindo, kendo ka girwako ogute mag lweny. Abiro chiwi e lwetgi mondo okumi, kendo gibiro kumi kaluwore gi chikgi giwegi.
25 Because I am very angry with you, I will cause them to act [very] furiously toward you. They will cut off your noses and your ears. Then, those who are still alive, they will kill with their swords. They will take away your sons and daughters, and a fire will burn up those who remain alive.
Abiro chomi tir gi mirimba mopongʼ gi nyiego kendo gibiro tiyi gi mirima mapek. Gibiro ngʼado umi gi iti oko, to joma notony e lwetgi nopodhi e dho ligangla. Gibiro kawo yawuoti gi nyigi gidhigo, to jogo kuomu ma notony mach nowangʼ.
26 They will strip off your clothes and your fine jewelry and take them away.
Bende gibiro lonyi duk mi gikaw gik milichorigo ma nengogi tek mi gidhigo.
27 In that way, I will stop all the immoral behavior that began when you became a prostitute in Egypt. You will no longer desire to do those things, or think [what you did in] Egypt.’
Kamano e kaka anatiek timbeni mag chode mane ichako kane pod in Misri. Ok inichak igomb dok e timbenigo, Misri bende ok inichak ipar kendo.
28 This is what [I], Yahweh the Lord say: ‘I am about to allow those whom you hate, those you became disgusted with and turned away from, to capture you.
“Nikech ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: Achiegni chiwi e lwet joma ichayo, kendo e lwet jomane ilokori iweyo ka in-gi mirima.
29 They will be cruel and take away everything that you have worked hard to acquire. They will leave you completely naked [DOU], and everyone will see that you truly are a prostitute.
Ginibed mamon kodi kendo gibiro kawo gimoro amora ma isetiyone e ngimani duto. Gibiro weyi duk nono li, kendo wichkuot mar chodeni ibiro el e lela.
30 It is because of what you have done that you will be punished like that; you have been an immoral prostitute; you have had sex with men of other nations, and you have caused yourselves to become unacceptable to me [worshiping] their idols.
Gomboni mar chode ema osekeloni chandruokni, nikech ne ihawo ogendini mamoko gi gombo, kendo nikech ne idwanyori gi nyisechegi manono.
31 You have behaved [the people of Samaria, who are like] your [older] sister. So I will cause you to be punished [MET] like they were punished.’
Iseluwo yor nyameru; emomiyo abiro keto kikombene e lweti.
32 This is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘[You will suffer like people suffer when they drink from a cup a lot of strong alcoholic drink]: [It will be as though] you will drink from the cup that the people of Samaria drank from; a big and tall cup. Because of your drinking what is in that cup, many people will scorn you and make fun of you because there is a lot of liquid in that cup.
“Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: “Ibiro madho kikombe mar nyaminu, kikombe moyarore kendo matut; en kikombe mabiro keloni achaya gi wichkuot nikech otingʼo gik mangʼeny.
33 When you become very drunk, you will become very sad, [drinking what is in] that cup [MTY] will cause you to become ruined and deserted, like what happened [MET] to [the people of] Samaria, [who are like] [MET] your sister.
En kikombe mar mer kod kuyo, machalo mana gi kikombe mar masira kod kethruok, ma Samaria nyaminu nomethoe.
34 You will drink all the liquid that is in that cup; then you will break that cup into pieces [use those pieces to] gash/cut your [because you will be very sad].’ [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have said it.
Ibiro madhe mi ilungʼe pep; ibiro goye piny motere matindo tindo, kendo obiro yiecho thundeni. Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto ema osewacho kamano.
35 Therefore, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘Because you have forgotten me and rejected me [IDM], you must be punished for your immoral behavior and for [like] a prostitute.’”
“Emomiyo ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: Nikech wiu osewil koda kendo usejwangʼa, koro nyaka uyud pok maromre gi timbeu mag chode.”
36 Yahweh said to me, “You human, you must [RHQ] [the people of those two cities represented by] Oholah and Oholibah. You must remind them of their detestable behavior:
Jehova Nyasaye nowachona kama: “Wuod dhano, donge inyalo ngʼado bura ni Ohola gi Oholiba? Ka inyalo timo kamano to chomgi tir gi timbegi mamonogo,
37 [It is as though the people of those cities] have committed adultery and have murdered [MTY] people. They have been unfaithful to me by [worshiping] idols. They have even sacrificed their own children, who belonged to me, to be food for their idols.
nikech giseterore kendo remo ni e lwetgi. Negiterore gi nyisechegi manono; ne gichiwonegi koda ka nyithindgi mane ginywolona, kaka chiembgi.
38 They have done [disgraceful things]: They have caused my temple to be an unacceptable place for worship, and have not respected the Sabbath days.
Gimachielo magisetimona ema: Gisedwanyo kara maler mar lemo kendo giseketho Sabato maga e odiechiengʼ achiel machalre.
39 On the same day that they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my temple, which caused it to be an unacceptable place for worshiping me.
E odiechiengʼ nogono mane gichiwe nyithindgi kaka misango ni nyisechegi manono, ema negidonjoe e kara maler mar lemo mi gidwanye. Mano e gima negitimo e oda.
40 They sent messages to men [in countries] far away. And when those men arrived, [the women of those two cities] bathed themselves for them, painted their eyebrows, and put on jewelry.
“Bende negioro joote mondo odhi oluong chwo moa e piny mabor mi jogo nobiro. Eka mon ariyogo noluokore mi owiro wangʼ-gi kendo olichore gi gik ma nengogi tek.
41 They sat on a beautiful couch, with a table in front of it on which they had put incense and [olive] oil that belonged to me.
Negibedo e kom molos maber kendo mayom, gi mesa mopedhi maber kama nuketoe ubani mangʼwe ngʼar kaachiel gi modhi mangʼwe ngʼar mane onego bed mara.
42 Soon there was a noisy crowd around them. Among the crowd there were men from Sheba who had come from the [of Arabia]. They put bracelets on the arms of the [two] sisters and put beautiful crowns on their heads.
“Bangʼe mahu mar oganda ma ok dew gimoro nowinjo; ne gin jo-Sebea moa e thim kaachiel gi joma chwo mojwangʼore. Ne girwakonegi bangli kendo ne gitweyonegi otembini mabeyo e wigi.
43 Then I said about the woman who had become exhausted by her having sex with many men, ‘Now allow those men to act toward her as though she is a prostitute, because that is all that she is.’
Eka ne awacho kuom ngʼat mane timbe chode osenurono ni, ‘Koro we giti kode kaka ochot, nikech mano e gima en.’
44 So they had sex [EUP] with those two women, Oholah and Oholibah, like men have sex with prostitutes.
Kendo negiterore kode. Mana kaka chwo terore gi ochode e kaka negiterore gi mon mokethorego, ma gin Ohola gi Oholiba.
45 But righteous men will condemn them to be punished, like women who commit adultery and who murder others are punished, because those women commit adultery and they murder [MTY] others.
Joma kare nokwed mon-go kuom timbegi mag terruok kod chwero remo, nikech terruok kod chwero remo ni e lwetgi.
46 So this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say: Bring a mob to attack Samaria and Jerusalem, and allow that mob to cause the people of those cities to be terrified, and to rob them.
“Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: Kel oganda mar jo-mahundu mondo omonj-gi kendo oyakgi.
47 The mob will throw stones at [to kill them]; they will cut them into pieces with their swords, they will kill their sons and daughters, and burn down their houses.
Ogandago biro chielogi gi kite kendo gibiro negogi gi ligangla mag-gi; gibiro nego yawuotgi gi nyigi, kendo gibiro wangʼo utegi.
48 In that way I will cause them to stop their immoral behavior. It will warn other women to not imitate/do what you people of Jerusalem are doing.
“Omiyo mano e kaka abiro tieko timbe mag chode e pinyno, mondo obed siem ni mon duto kik terre kaka mon ariyogo osetimo.
49 [people of Jerusalem] will be punished for your immoral behavior and for your worshiping idols. Then you will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
Ibiro yudo kum kuom kethruok mari kendo ibiro tingʼo chandruok ma richoni mar lamo nyiseche manono okeloni. Eka iningʼe ni An e Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto.”
