< Exodus 7 >

1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Listen [carefully]. [Just like I enabled prophet to speak my messages], I will cause the king [to consider that] you are like a god, and that Aaron is like a prophet.
Nígbà náà ni Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé, “Wò ó, Èmi ti ṣe ọ bí Ọlọ́run fún Farao, Aaroni arákùnrin rẹ ni yóò jẹ́ agbẹnusọ rẹ.
2 You must tell everything I command you [to tell to your older] brother Aaron, and he will tell that to the king. He must tell the king to let the Israeli people leave his land.
Ìwọ yóò sì sọ ohun gbogbo tí Èmi ti pàṣẹ fún ọ, Aaroni arákùnrin rẹ yóò sísọ fún Farao kí ó jẹ́ kí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli jáde kúrò ni ilẹ̀ rẹ̀.
3 But I will make the king stubborn [IDM]. As a result, even though I perform many kinds of (miracles/terrifying things) [DOU] [here] in Egypt,
Ṣùgbọ́n èmi yóò sé Farao lọ́kàn le. Bí Mo tilẹ̀ ṣe ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ iṣẹ́ àmì àti ìyanu ni Ejibiti,
4 the king will not pay any attention to what you say. Then I will punish [MTY] the people of Egypt [MTY] very severely [MTY], and I will lead/bring the tribes of the Israeli people out of Egypt.
síbẹ̀ òun kì yóò fi etí sí ọ. Nígbà náà ni Èmi yóò gbé ọwọ́ mi lé Ejibiti, pẹ̀lú agbára ìdájọ́ ńlá mi ni èmi yóò mú àwọn ènìyàn mi Israẹli jáde ní ọ̀wọ̀ọ̀wọ́.
5 Then, when I show my great power [MTY] to the Egyptian people and bring the Israeli people out from among them, they will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
Àwọn ará Ejibiti yóò sì mọ̀ pé Èmi ni Olúwa ní ìgbà tí mo bá na ọwọ́ mi jáde lé Ejibiti, tí mo sì mú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli jáde kúrò níbẹ̀.”
6 Aaron and Moses/I did what Yahweh told them/us to do. They/We [went and spoke to the king].
Mose àti Aaroni sì ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún wọn.
7 At that time, Moses/I was 80 years old, and Aaron was 83 years old.
Mose jẹ́ ọmọ ọgọ́rin ọdún Aaroni sì jẹ́ ọmọ ọdún mẹ́tàlélọ́gọ́rin ni ìgbà tí wọ́n bá Farao sọ̀rọ̀.
8 Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Olúwa sọ fún Mose àti Aaroni,
9 “If the king says to you, ‘Prove [that God sent] you by performing a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Throw your stick down in front of the king, in order that it may become a snake.’”
“Ní ìgbà tí Farao bá sọ fún un yín pé, ‘Ẹ ṣe iṣẹ́ ìyanu kan,’ sọ fún Aaroni ní ìgbà náà pé, ‘Mú ọ̀pá rẹ kí ó sì sọ ọ́ sílẹ̀ níwájú Farao,’ yóò sì di ejò.”
10 So Aaron and Moses/I went to the king and did what Yahweh had commanded [them/us to do]. Aaron threw his stick down in front of the king and his officials, and it became a snake.
Nígbà náà ni Mose àti Aaroni tọ Farao lọ, wọ́n sì ṣe bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún wọn, Aaroni ju ọ̀pá rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ní iwájú Farao àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀, ọ̀pá náà sì di ejò.
11 Then the king summoned his sorcerers and men who performed magic. They did the same thing, using their magic.
Farao sì pe àwọn amòye, àwọn oṣó àti àwọn onídán ilẹ̀ Ejibiti jọ, wọ́n sì fi idán wọn ṣe ohun tí Mose àti Aaroni ṣe.
12 They all threw down their sticks, and they became snakes. But Aaron’s stick, [which had become a snake], swallowed up all their sticks!
Ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan wọn sọ ọ̀pá rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, ọ̀pá náà sì di ejò. Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀pá Aaroni gbé ọ̀pá tiwọn mì.
13 But the king continued to be stubborn [IDM], just as Yahweh had predicted, and he would not pay attention to [what Aaron and Moses/I said].
Síbẹ̀ ọkàn Farao sì yigbì, kò si fetí sí wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti sọ.
14 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “The king is very stubborn [IDM]. He refuses to allow [my] people to go.
Nígbà náà ni Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé, “Ọkàn Farao ti di líle, ó kọ̀ láti jẹ́ kí àwọn ènìyàn náà ó lọ.
15 So [tomorrow] morning, go to him as he is going down to the [Nile] River [to bathe]. Wait for him at the riverbank. [When he comes out of the water, show] him the stick, the one which became a snake.
Tọ Farao lọ ni òwúrọ̀ kùtùkùtù bí ó ti ń lọ sí etí odò, dúró ni etí bèbè odò Naili láti pàdé rẹ, mú ọ̀pá rẹ tí ó di ejò ni ọwọ́ rẹ.
16 Say to him, ‘Yahweh God, the one [we] Hebrews [worship], sent me to you to tell you to let my people go, in order that they may worship him in the desert. [We told you that], but you have not paid any attention to it.
Sọ fún un pé, ‘Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn Heberu rán mi sí ọ láti sọ fún ọ pé, Jẹ́ kí àwọn ènìyàn mi kí ó lọ, kí wọn kí ó lè sìn mi ni aginjù. Ṣùgbọ́n títí di àkókò yìí, ìwọ kò gba.
17 [So now] Yahweh says this: “This is the way you will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do]. Watch this: I am going to strike the water that is in the Nile [River] with the stick that is in my hand. [When I do that], the water will become blood (OR, [red like] blood [MTY]).
Èyí ni Olúwa wí, nípa èyí ni ìwọ yóò mọ̀ pé Èmi ni Olúwa. Wò ó, èmi yóò fi ọ̀pá ti ó wà ní ọwọ́ mi, èmi yóò ná omi tí ó wà nínú odò Naili yóò sì di ẹ̀jẹ̀.
18 Then the fish in the Nile [River] will die, and the [water in] the river will stink, and the Egyptians will not be able to drink water from the Nile River.”’”
Àwọn ẹja tí ó wà nínú odò Naili yóò kú, odò náà yóò sì máa rùn, àwọn ará Ejibiti kò sì ni lè mu omi rẹ̀.’”
19 Yahweh said to Moses/me, “[When you are talking to the king], say to Aaron, ‘Hold your stick out [as though you were holding it] over the water in Egypt—over the rivers, the canals, the ponds, and over the pools of water, in order that [all of it] may become [red like] blood.’ When Aaron does that, there will be blood throughout Egypt, even in wooden jars and in stone jars.”
Olúwa sọ fún Mose, “Sọ fún Aaroni, ‘Mú ọ̀pá rẹ kí ó sì na ọwọ́ rẹ jáde lórí àwọn omi Ejibiti. Lórí àwọn odò kéékèèké àti odò ńlá, lórí àbàtà àti adágún omi, wọn yóò sì di ẹ̀jẹ̀.’ Ẹ̀jẹ̀ yóò wà ni ibi gbogbo ni Ejibiti, àní nínú ọpọ́n àti nínú kete omi àti nínú ìkòkò tí a pọn omi sí nínú ilé.”
20 So Aaron and Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded. As the king and his officials were watching, Aaron lifted up his stick and then struck the water in the Nile [River] with it. And all the water in the river turned [red like] blood.
Mose àti Aaroni sí ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún wọn. Ó gbé ọ̀pá rẹ̀ sókè ni iwájú Farao àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀, ó sì lu omi odò Naili, omi odò náà sì yípadà sí ẹ̀jẹ̀.
21 Then all the fish died. And the water stank, with the result that the Egyptians could not drink water from the river. Everywhere in Egypt [the water] became [red like] blood.
Ẹja inú odò Naili sì kú, odò náà ń rùn gidigidi tí ó fi jẹ́ pé àwọn ará Ejibiti kò le è mu omi inú rẹ̀. Ẹ̀jẹ̀ sì wà ni ibi gbogbo ni ilẹ̀ Ejibiti.
22 But the men who performed magic did the same thing using their magic. So the king remained stubborn [IDM], and he would not pay attention to what Aaron and Moses/I said, just as Yahweh had predicted.
Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn apidán ilẹ̀ Ejibiti sì ṣe bákan náà pẹ̀lú agbára òkùnkùn wọn, ọkàn Farao sì yigbì síbẹ̀ kò sì fetí sí wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti sọ.
23 The king turned and went back to his palace, and he did not think any more about it [IDM].
Dípò bẹ́ẹ̀, ó yíjú padà, ó sì lọ sí ààfin rẹ̀, kò sì jẹ́ kí àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí wà ni oókan àyà rẹ̀.
24 The Egyptians [HYP] dug [into the ground] near the Nile [River] to get water to drink, because they could not drink the water from the river.
Nígbà náà ni gbogbo àwọn ará Ejibiti bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í gbẹ́ etí odò Naili láti wá omi tí wọn yóò mu, nítorí wọn kò le è mu omi tí ó wà nínú odò náà.
25 (One week/Seven days) passed after Yahweh caused the water in the Nile [River to become red like blood].
Ọjọ́ méje sì kọjá ti Olúwa ti lu odò Naili.
