Exodus 6
1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Now you will see what I will do to the king [and his people]. I will powerfully [MTY] compel him to let my people go. In fact, by my power [MTY] [I will force] him to expel them from his land!”
Yavé dijo a Moisés: Ahora verás lo que Yo haré a Faraón, porque por mano fuerte los dejará ir, y por mano fuerte los expulsará de su tierra.
2 God also said to Moses/me, “I am Yahweh.
Y ʼElohim habló a Moisés: Yo soy Yavé.
3 I am the one who appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and [told them that I] was God Almighty, but I did not [tell] them that my name [was Yahweh].
Yo me aparecí a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob como ʼEL-Shadday, pero no me dí a conocer a ellos con mi Nombre Yavé.
4 I also made my solemn agreement with them, promising to give them the Canaan region. That was the area in which they were living as foreigners.
También establecí mi Pacto con ellos para darles la tierra de Canaán, tierra de sus peregrinaciones en la cual vivieron.
5 Furthermore, I have heard the Israeli people as they were groaning [because of the hard work that] the Egyptians forced them to do as their slaves. I have thought about that solemn promise [that I made].
Además Yo escuché el gemido de los hijos de Israel, porque los egipcios los mantienen en esclavitud, y recordé mi Pacto.
6 So tell the Israeli people that [I said this: ] ‘I am Yahweh. I will free you from the burdens [of heavy work] that the Egyptians [have given you]. I will free you from being their slaves. With my great power [MTY] and by punishing them [MTY] very severely, I will save you.
Por tanto, dí a los hijos de Israel: Yo soy Yavé. Los sacaré de debajo de las cargas de los egipcios y los libraré de su esclavitud. También los redimiré con brazo extendido y con grandes juicios.
7 I will cause you to be my own people, and I will be your God, [the one you worship]. You will truly know that I, Yahweh your God, am the one who has freed you from the burdens [of work as slaves] of the Egyptians.
Entonces los tomaré para Mí como mi pueblo y seré para ustedes su ʼElohim. Y sabrán que Yo soy Yavé su ʼElohim, Quien los sacó de debajo de las cargas de los egipcios.
8 And I will bring you to the land that I solemnly promised to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. You will possess it [forever]. I, Yahweh, am [promising this].’”
Los llevaré a la tierra que juré dar a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob, y se la daré en posesión. Yo, Yavé.
9 Moses/I told that to the Israeli people, but they did not believe what he/I said. They were very discouraged [IDM] because of the hard work [that they had been forced to do as slaves].
Moisés habló así a los hijos de Israel, pero ellos no escucharon a Moisés a causa de la impaciencia de espíritu y la cruel esclavitud.
10 Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Entonces Yavé habló a Moisés:
11 “Go and tell the king of Egypt [again] that he must allow the Israeli people to leave his land!”
Entra, dile a Faraón, rey de Egipto, que deje salir de su tierra a los hijos de Israel.
12 But Moses/I said to Yahweh, “Listen [to what I am saying]. [Even] the Israeli people have not paid attention to what I [told them]. But I am a poor speaker. [MET, MTY] So (why should the king pay attention to what I tell him?/the king will certainly not pay attention to what I [tell him]!)” [RHQ]
Y Moisés habló ante Yavé: Mira, los hijos de Israel no me escuchan. ¿Cómo me escuchará Faraón? Porque yo soy de labios incircuncisos.
13 But Yahweh spoke to Aaron and Moses/me and commanded them/us, “Tell the Israeli people and the king of Egypt that I have [commissioned you two] to lead the Israeli people out of Egypt.”
Entonces Yavé habló a Moisés y a Aarón y les dio instrucciones para los hijos de Israel y para Faraón, rey de Egipto, a fin de sacar a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto.
14 (Here is/I will now give you) a list of the ancestors of [Moses/me and Aaron]: The sons of Reuben, who was Jacob’s oldest son, [were] Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. They were [ancestors of] the clans [that have those same names].
Estos son los jefes de las familias paternas: Los hijos de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi. Estas son las familias de Rubén.
15 The sons of Simeon [were] Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul. Shaul’s mother was a woman from the Canaan people-group. Those men also were [ancestors of] clans [that have those same names].
Los hijos de Simeón: Jemuel, Jamín, Ohad, Jaquín, Zoar y Saúl, hijo de una cananea. Estas son las familias de Simeón.
16 These are the names of the sons of Levi, in the order in which they were born: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi was 137 years old [when he died].
Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Leví por sus linajes: Gersón, Coat y Merari. Y los años de la vida de Leví fueron 137 años.
17 The sons of Gershon [were] Libni and Shimei. They were ancestors of clans that have those names.
Los hijos de Gersón: Libni y Simei, por sus familias.
18 The sons of Kohath [were] Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath was 133 years old [when he died].
Los hijos de Coat: Amram, Izar, Hebrón y Uziel. Y la duración de la vida de Coat fue 133 años.
19 The sons of Merari [were] Mahli and Mushi. All of those people whose names [I have listed] belonged to tribes/clans descended from Levi, in the order in which they were born.
Los hijos de Merari: Mahli y Musi. Estas son las familias de los levitas según sus generaciones.
20 Amram married his father’s sister, Jochebed. She was the mother of Aaron and Moses/me. Amram was 137 years old [when he died].
Amram tomó como esposa a su tía Jocabed, la cual le dio a luz a Aarón y a Moisés. Y los años de la vida de Amram fueron 137 años.
21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
Los hijos de Izar: Cora, Nefeg y Zicri.
22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
Los hijos de Uziel: Misael, Elzafán y Sitri.
23 Aaron married Elisheba. She was the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon. Elisheba gave birth to [four sons]: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Aarón tomó como esposa a Elizabet hija de Aminadab, hermana de Naasón, la cual le dio a luz a Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.
24 The sons of Korah [were] Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. They were the ancestors of the Korah people-group.
Los hijos de Coré: Asir, Elcana y Abiasaf. Estas son las familias de los coreítas.
25 Aaron’s son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she gave birth to Phinehas. [That ends the list of] the families and clans that were descended from Levi.
Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, tomó para él una esposa de las hijas de Futiel, la cual le dio a luz a Finees. Estos son los jefes paternos de los levitas según sus familias.
26 Aaron and Moses/I were the ones to whom Yahweh said, “Lead all the families and clans of the Israeli people out of Egypt.”
Éstos fueron aquel Aarón y aquel Moisés a quienes Yavé dijo: Saquen a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto organizados como escuadrones.
27 They/We were the ones who spoke to the king of Egypt about bringing the Israeli people out of Egypt.
Ellos fueron los que hablaron a Faraón para sacar de Egipto a los hijos de Israel. Estos fueron Moisés y Aarón.
28 On the day that Yahweh spoke to Moses/me in Egypt,
Ahora bien, sucedió que el día cuando Yavé habló a Moisés en la tierra de Egipto,
29 he said, “I am Yahweh. You must tell the king everything that I say to you.”
Yavé se dirigió a Moisés: Yo soy Yavé. Habla a Faraón, rey de Egipto, todas las cosas que te digo.
30 But Moses/I said to Yahweh, “Listen to me. I am not a good speaker. [MET, MTY] So (the king will certainly not pay attention to what I say/why should the king pay attention to what I tell him?)!” [RHQ]
Pero Moisés respondió a Yavé: Mira, yo soy incircunciso de labios. ¿Cómo, pues, me escuchará Faraón?
