Exodus 6
1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Now you will see what I will do to the king [and his people]. I will powerfully [MTY] compel him to let my people go. In fact, by my power [MTY] [I will force] him to expel them from his land!”
Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Bientôt tu verras ce que je vais faire au Pharaon: sous ma main puissante, il congédiera le peuple; sous mon bras très- haut, il le renverra de sa contrée.
2 God also said to Moses/me, “I am Yahweh.
Dieu parla encore à Moïse et lui dit: Je suis le Seigneur.
3 I am the one who appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and [told them that I] was God Almighty, but I did not [tell] them that my name [was Yahweh].
J'ai révélé à Abraham, à Isaac, à Jacob, que je suis leur Dieu, mais je ne leur ai point révélé mon nom: LE SEIGNEUR.
4 I also made my solemn agreement with them, promising to give them the Canaan region. That was the area in which they were living as foreigners.
J'ai fait alliance avec eux pour leur donner la terre de Chanaan, la terre en laquelle ils ont demeuré comme passagers.
5 Furthermore, I have heard the Israeli people as they were groaning [because of the hard work that] the Egyptians forced them to do as their slaves. I have thought about that solemn promise [that I made].
J'ai entendu les gémissements qu'arrache aux fils d'Israël l'asservissement auquel les Égyptiens les ont réduits, et je me suis souvenu de mon alliance avec vous.
6 So tell the Israeli people that [I said this: ] ‘I am Yahweh. I will free you from the burdens [of heavy work] that the Egyptians [have given you]. I will free you from being their slaves. With my great power [MTY] and by punishing them [MTY] very severely, I will save you.
Va donc et parle aux fils d'Israël; dis-leur: Je suis le Seigneur; je vous dégagerai de la domination des Égyptiens, je vous délivrerai de la servitude, je vous affranchirai par un bras très-haut et un jugement redoutable.
7 I will cause you to be my own people, and I will be your God, [the one you worship]. You will truly know that I, Yahweh your God, am the one who has freed you from the burdens [of work as slaves] of the Egyptians.
Vous serez mon peuple et je serai votre Dieu, et vous connaîtrez que c'est moi le Seigneur votre Dieu qui vous aurai délivrés de la domination des Égyptiens.
8 And I will bring you to the land that I solemnly promised to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. You will possess it [forever]. I, Yahweh, am [promising this].’”
Je vous conduirai en la terre sur laquelle j'ai étendu la main, pour la donner à Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, et je vous la donnerai en héritage, moi le Seigneur.
9 Moses/I told that to the Israeli people, but they did not believe what he/I said. They were very discouraged [IDM] because of the hard work [that they had been forced to do as slaves].
Et Moïse parla, comme il lui était dit, aux fils d'Israël; mais leur pusillanimité et la dureté de leurs travaux firent qu'ils n'écoutèrent point Moïse.
10 Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Le Seigneur parla alors à Moïse, disant:
11 “Go and tell the king of Egypt [again] that he must allow the Israeli people to leave his land!”
Entre, parle au Pharaon roi d'Égypte, afin qu'il renvoie de sa contrée les fils d’Israël.
12 But Moses/I said to Yahweh, “Listen [to what I am saying]. [Even] the Israeli people have not paid attention to what I [told them]. But I am a poor speaker. [MET, MTY] So (why should the king pay attention to what I tell him?/the king will certainly not pay attention to what I [tell him]!)” [RHQ]
Mais Moïse résista au Seigneur, disant: Les fils d'Israël ne m'ont pas écouté; comment le Pharaon m'écoutera-t-il, moi qui ne sais pas parler.
13 But Yahweh spoke to Aaron and Moses/me and commanded them/us, “Tell the Israeli people and the king of Egypt that I have [commissioned you two] to lead the Israeli people out of Egypt.”
Ainsi le Seigneur parla à Moïse et à son frère, et leur ordonna d'aller trouver le Pharaon roi d'Égypte, pour qu'il eût à renvoyer de l'Égypte les fils d'Israël.
14 (Here is/I will now give you) a list of the ancestors of [Moses/me and Aaron]: The sons of Reuben, who was Jacob’s oldest son, [were] Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. They were [ancestors of] the clans [that have those same names].
Or, voici les chefs de leurs familles paternelles: Fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël: Enoch et Phallu, Hesron et Charmi; telles sont les familles issues de Ruben.
15 The sons of Simeon [were] Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul. Shaul’s mother was a woman from the Canaan people-group. Those men also were [ancestors of] clans [that have those same names].
Fils de Siméon: Jamuel, Jamin, Aod, Jachin, Saar et Saül, né de la Phénicienne; telles sont les familles des fils de Siméon.
16 These are the names of the sons of Levi, in the order in which they were born: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi was 137 years old [when he died].
Voici les noms des fils de Lévi, par familles: Gerson, Caath et Mérari; Lévi vécut cent trente-sept ans.
17 The sons of Gershon [were] Libni and Shimei. They were ancestors of clans that have those names.
Et voici les fils de Gerson: Lobni et Sémeï, noms que portent leurs familles.
18 The sons of Kohath [were] Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath was 133 years old [when he died].
Fils de Caath: Amram, Isaar, Hébron et Oziel; Caath vécut cent trente- trois ans.
19 The sons of Merari [were] Mahli and Mushi. All of those people whose names [I have listed] belonged to tribes/clans descended from Levi, in the order in which they were born.
Fils de Mérari: Moholi et Musi; telles sont les maisons par familles qui eurent pour père Lévi.
20 Amram married his father’s sister, Jochebed. She was the mother of Aaron and Moses/me. Amram was 137 years old [when he died].
Amram prit pour femme Jochabed, fille du frère de son père, et elle lui enfanta Aaron, Moïse et Mariam (Marie), leur sœur; Amram vécut cent trente- deux ans.
21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
Fils d'Isaar: Coré, Népheg et Zéchri.
22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
Fils d'Oziel: Misaël, Elisaphan et Ségri.
23 Aaron married Elisheba. She was the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon. Elisheba gave birth to [four sons]: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Aaron prit pour femme Élisabeth, fille d'Amitiadab, sœur de Nahasson, et elle lui enfanta Nadab, Abiu, Eléazar et Ithamar.
24 The sons of Korah [were] Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. They were the ancestors of the Korah people-group.
Fils de Coré: Asir, Elcana, Abiasar; tels sont les fils de Coré.
25 Aaron’s son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she gave birth to Phinehas. [That ends the list of] the families and clans that were descended from Levi.
Eléazar, fils d'Aaron, prit pour femme l'une des filles de Phutiel, et elle lui enfanta Phinées; tels sont, par familles, les chefs issus de Lévi.
26 Aaron and Moses/I were the ones to whom Yahweh said, “Lead all the families and clans of the Israeli people out of Egypt.”
Cet Aaron, ce Moïse, sont ceux à qui Dieu dit de faire, sortir de la terre d'Égypte les fils d'Israël et toutes leurs forces
27 They/We were the ones who spoke to the king of Egypt about bringing the Israeli people out of Egypt.
Ce sont eux qui parlèrent au Pharaon, roi d'Égypte; Aaron lui-même et Moïse sont ceux qui conduisirent, hors de la terre d'Égypte, les fils d'Israël,
28 On the day that Yahweh spoke to Moses/me in Egypt,
Le jour où le Seigneur parla à Moïse en la terre d'Égypte.
29 he said, “I am Yahweh. You must tell the king everything that I say to you.”
Le Seigneur parla ensuite à Moïse, disant: Je suis le Seigneur; dis au Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, les choses que je te dis.
30 But Moses/I said to Yahweh, “Listen to me. I am not a good speaker. [MET, MTY] So (the king will certainly not pay attention to what I say/why should the king pay attention to what I tell him?)!” [RHQ]
Mais Moïse résista au Seigneur, disant: Je suis bègue; comment le Pharaon m'écoutera-t-il?
