< Exodus 40 >

1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
2 “On the first day of the first month next year, [tell the people to] set up the Sacred Tent.
in/on/with day [the] month [the] first in/on/with one to/for month to arise: raise [obj] tabernacle tent meeting
3 Put inside it the sacred chest [that contains the stone slabs on which are engraved] the Ten Commandments, and hang the curtain in front of it.
and to set: put there [obj] ark [the] testimony and to cover upon [the] ark [obj] [the] curtain
4 Bring the table into the Sacred Tent, and place on it all the things that are to be used with it. Bring in the lampstand and fasten the lamps to it.
and to come (in): bring [obj] [the] table and to arrange [obj] valuation his and to come (in): bring [obj] [the] lampstand and to ascend: establish [obj] lamp her
5 Put the gold altar for [burning] incense in front of the sacred chest, and set up the curtain at the entrance of the Sacred Tent.
and to give: put [obj] altar [the] gold to/for incense to/for face: before ark [the] testimony and to set: make [obj] covering [the] entrance to/for tabernacle
6 Put the altar for burning sacrifices in front of the Sacred Tent.
and to give: put [obj] altar [the] burnt offering to/for face: before entrance tabernacle tent meeting
7 Put the washbasin between the Sacred Tent and the altar, and fill it with water.
and to give: put [obj] [the] basin between tent meeting and between [the] altar and to give: put there water
8 Hang the curtains that will surround the courtyard, and hang the curtain at its entrance.
and to set: make [obj] [the] court around and to give: put [obj] covering gate [the] court
9 Then take the oil for anointing, and anoint the Sacred Tent and everything that is in it, to (set it apart/dedicate it) to me. Then it will be holy/sacred.
and to take: take [obj] oil [the] anointing and to anoint [obj] [the] tabernacle and [obj] all which in/on/with him and to consecrate: consecate [obj] him and [obj] all article/utensil his and to be holiness
10 Also anoint the altar for offering sacrifices that will be completely burned, and all the things that will be used with it, and set it apart. Then it also will be holy/sacred.
and to anoint [obj] altar [the] burnt offering and [obj] all article/utensil his and to consecrate: consecate [obj] [the] altar and to be [the] altar holiness holiness
11 Also anoint the washbasin and its base, to set it apart.
and to anoint [obj] [the] basin and [obj] stand his and to consecrate: consecate [obj] him
12 Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Sacred Tent, and wash them [ritually] with water.
and to present: bring [obj] Aaron and [obj] son: child his to(wards) entrance tent meeting and to wash: wash [obj] them in/on/with water
13 Then put on Aaron his sacred clothes to (set him apart/dedicate him), in order that he can serve me as a priest.
and to clothe [obj] Aaron [obj] garment [the] holiness and to anoint [obj] him and to consecrate: consecate [obj] him and to minister to/for me
14 Also bring his sons there. Put their sacred tunics/gowns on them
and [obj] son: child his to present: bring and to clothe [obj] them tunic
15 and anoint them just as you anointed their father, in order that they also may serve me by working as priests. By anointing them [and their descendants], you will cause them and their descendants to be priests throughout all coming generations.”
and to anoint [obj] them like/as as which to anoint [obj] father their and to minister to/for me and to be to/for to be to/for them anointing their to/for priesthood forever: enduring to/for generation their
16 Moses/I did all these things exactly as Yahweh had commanded him/me.
and to make: do Moses like/as all which to command LORD [obj] him so to make: do
17 On the first day of the first month of the next year (OR, second year [after they/we left Egypt]), the people set up the Sacred Tent.
and to be in/on/with month [the] first in/on/with year [the] second in/on/with one to/for month to arise: raise [the] tabernacle
18 Following Moses’/my instructions, they set up the Sacred Tent and its bases, set up the frames, attached the crossbars, and put up the posts [for the curtains].
and to arise: raise Moses [obj] [the] tabernacle and to give: put [obj] socket his and to set: make [obj] board his and to give: put [obj] bar his and to arise: raise [obj] pillar his
19 Then they spread out the coverings over the Sacred Tent, exactly as Yahweh had commanded.
and to spread [obj] [the] tent upon [the] tabernacle and to set: put [obj] covering [the] tent upon him from to/for above [to] like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
20 Then he/I took the two stone slabs [on which the commandments were written] and put them in the sacred chest. He/I put the carrying poles [in the rings] on the chest and put the lid on top of the chest.
and to take: take and to give: put [obj] [the] testimony to(wards) [the] ark and to set: make [obj] [the] alone: pole upon [the] ark and to give: put [obj] [the] mercy seat upon [the] ark from to/for above [to]
21 Then he/I took the chest into [the Very Holy Place inside] the Sacred Tent and hung the curtain. In that way, he/I prevented the people who were outside from seeing the chest. He/I did all this exactly as Yahweh had commanded him/me.
and to come (in): bring [obj] [the] ark to(wards) [the] tabernacle and to set: make [obj] curtain [the] covering and to cover upon ark [the] testimony like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
22 He/I set the table inside the Sacred Tent, on the north side, outside the curtain.
and to give: put [obj] [the] table in/on/with tent meeting upon thigh [the] tabernacle north [to] from outside to/for curtain
23 He/I placed on the table the bread that was offered to Yahweh, exactly as Yahweh had commanded.
and to arrange upon him valuation food: bread to/for face: before LORD like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
24 He/I set the lampstand inside the Sacred Tent, on the south side, opposite the table.
and to set: put [obj] [the] lampstand in/on/with tent meeting before [the] table upon thigh [the] tabernacle south [to]
25 Then he/I fastened the lamps to the lampstand in Yahweh’s presence, exactly as Yahweh had commanded.
and to ascend: establish [the] lamp to/for face: before LORD like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
26 He/I set the golden altar for burning incense inside the Sacred Tent, in front of the curtain [that separated the Holy Place from the Very Holy Place],
and to set: put [obj] altar [the] gold in/on/with tent meeting to/for face: before [the] curtain
27 and he/I burned some sweet-smelling incense on it, exactly as Yahweh had commanded him/me.
and to offer: burn upon him incense spice like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
28 He/I hung the curtain at the entrance to the Sacred Tent.
and to set: put [obj] covering [the] entrance to/for tabernacle
29 At the entrance to the Sacred Tent, he/I set the altar for offering sacrifices that were to be burned completely. Then he/I offered on it the meat that was to be burned completely and the grain offering, exactly as Yahweh had commanded him/me.
and [obj] altar [the] burnt offering to set: make entrance tabernacle tent meeting and to ascend: offer up upon him [obj] [the] burnt offering and [obj] [the] offering like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
30 He/I set the washbasin between the Sacred Tent and the [bronze] altar, and he/I filled the washbasin with water.
and to set: make [obj] [the] basin between tent meeting and between [the] altar and to give: put there [to] water to/for to wash: wash
31 Every time Moses/I and Aaron and his sons went into the Sacred Tent or went to the altar, they/we washed their/our hands and feet [ritually], exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
and to wash: wash from him Moses and Aaron and son: child his [obj] hand their and [obj] foot their
in/on/with to come (in): come they to(wards) tent meeting and in/on/with to present: come they to(wards) [the] altar to wash: wash like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses
33 Following Moses’/my instructions, they hung the curtains that surrounded the courtyard and the altar, and they hung the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. So Moses/I finished that work.
and to arise: raise [obj] [the] court around to/for tabernacle and to/for altar and to give: put [obj] covering gate [the] court and to end: finish Moses [obj] [the] work
34 Then the [tall bright] cloud covered the Sacred Tent, and Yahweh’s (glory/brilliant light) filled the Sacred Tent.
and to cover [the] cloud [obj] tent meeting and glory LORD to fill [obj] [the] tabernacle
35 Because that light was very bright, Moses/I was not able to enter the Sacred Tent.
and not be able Moses to/for to come (in): come to(wards) tent meeting for to dwell upon him [the] cloud and glory LORD to fill [obj] [the] tabernacle
36 From that day, whenever the Israeli people wanted to move to another place, they went only when the bright cloud rose from above the Sacred Tent.
and in/on/with to ascend: establish [the] cloud from upon [the] tabernacle to set out son: descendant/people Israel in/on/with all journey their
37 If the cloud did not rise, they stayed where they were and did not go on until the cloud rose.
and if not to ascend: establish [the] cloud and not to set out till day to ascend: establish he
38 Wherever they traveled, the bright cloud that [indicated] Yahweh’s [presence] was above the Sacred Tent during the day, and a [bright] fire was inside the cloud at night, with the result that all the Israeli people [MTY] could see it [at any time].
for cloud LORD upon [the] tabernacle by day and fire to be night in/on/with him to/for eye: seeing all house: household Israel in/on/with all journey their
