Exodus 39
1 Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled workmen made the beautiful clothes for Aaron to wear while he did his work as a priest in the Holy Place. They made them from blue, purple, and red cloth, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
Des étoffes d’azur, de pourpre et d’écarlate, on fit des tapis d’emballage pour lé service des choses saintes; puis on fit le saint costume d’Aaron, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait prescrit à Moïse.
2 They made the sacred apron from fine white linen and from blue, purple, and red cloth.
On confectionna l’éphod, en or, azur, pourpre, écarlate et lin retors,
3 They hammered some thin sheets of gold and cut them into thin strips which they embroidered into the fine linen and into the blue, purple, and red cloth.
On laminait des lingots d’or, puis on y coupait des fils qu’on entremêlait aux fils d’azur, à ceux de pourpre, d’écarlate et de fin lin, en façon de damassé.
4 The apron had two shoulder straps, to join the front part to the back part at the shoulders.
On y adapta des épaulières d’attache, par lesquelles ses deux extrémités se trouvèrent jointes.
5 A carefully-woven sash, which was made from the same materials as the sacred apron, was [sewn] onto the sacred apron. This was made exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
La ceinture servant à le fixer faisait partie de son tissu, était ouvragée de même: or, azur, pourpre, écarlate et lin retors, comme l’Éternel l’avait prescrit à Moïse.
6 They cut two valuable onyx stones and enclosed them in a tiny gold frame, and a skilled gem-cutter engraved on the stones the names of the twelve sons of Jacob.
On mit en œuvre les pierres de choham, qu’on enchâssa dans des chatons d’or et où l’on grava, comme on grave un sceau, les noms des fils d’Israël.
7 They fastened the stones to the shoulder straps of the sacred apron, to represent the twelve Israeli tribes, exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
On les ajusta sur les épaulières de l’éphod, comme pierres de souvenir pour les Israélites, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
8 They made the sacred chest pouch. They made it of the same materials as the sacred apron and embroidered it in the same way.
Puis on confectionna le pectoral damassé à la façon de l’éphod; en or, azur, pourpre, écarlate et lin retors.
9 It was square, and the material was folded double, so that it was (9 in./22 cm.) long and (9 in./22 cm.) wide.
Ce pectoral était carré, on l’avait plié en deux; ainsi plié, il avait un empan de long et un empan de large.
10 They fastened four rows of valuable stones onto the pouch. In the first row, they put a [red] ruby, a [yellow] topaz, and a [red] garnet.
On y enchâssa quatre rangées de pierreries. Sur une rangée: un rubis, une topaze et une émeraude, première rangée;
11 In the second row, they put a [green] emerald, a [blue] sapphire, and a [clear/white] diamond.
deuxième rangée: un nofek, un saphir et un diamant;
12 In the third row they put a [red] jacinth, a [white] agate, and a [purple] amethyst.
troisième rangée: un léchem, un chebô et un ahlama;
13 In the fourth row, they put a [yellow] beryl, a [red] carnelian, and a [green] jasper. They set each of the stones in tiny gold frames.
quatrième rangée: une tartessienne, un choham et un jaspe. Quant à leur sertissure, elles furent enchâssées dans des chatons d’or.
14 On each of the twelve stones they engraved the name of one of the sons of Jacob, to represent one of the twelve Israeli tribes.
Ces pierres portant les noms des fils d’Israël, étaient douze selon ces mêmes noms; on y avait gravé comme sur un sceau, chacune par son nom, les douze tribus.
15 They made two [chains] from pure gold and braided them like cords, to [attach] the sacred pouch [to the sacred apron].
On prépara, pour le pectoral, des chaînettes cordonnées, forme de torsade, en or pur; puis on fit deux chatons d’or et deux anneaux d’or.
16 They made two gold rings, and they attached them to the upper corners of the sacred pouch.
On plaça ces deux anneaux aux deux coins du pectoral;
17 They fastened one end of each cord to one of the rings.
on passa les deux torsades d’or dans les deux anneaux sur les coins du pectoral et les deux extrémités de chaque torsade,
18 They fastened the other end of each cord to the two (settings/tiny frames) [that enclosed the stones]. Then they attached the sacred pouch to the shoulder straps of the sacred apron.
on les fixa sur deux chatons, les appliquant aux épaulières de l’éphod du côté de la face.
19 Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the lower corners of the sacred pouch, on the inside edges, next to the sacred apron.
On fit aussi deux anneaux d’or, qu’on plaça aux deux coins du pectoral, sur le bord intérieur faisant face à l’éphod;
20 They made two more gold rings and attached them to the lower part of the front of the shoulder straps, near to where [the shoulder straps] were joined [to the sacred apron], just above the carefully-woven sash/waistband.
et l’on fit deux autres anneaux d’or, qu’on fixa aux deux épaulières de l’éphod, par en bas, au côté extérieur, à l’endroit de l’attache, au-dessus de la ceinture de l’éphod.
21 They tied the rings on the sacred pouch to the rings on the sacred apron with a blue cord, so that the sacred pouch was above the sash/waistband and would not come loose from the sacred apron.
On assujettit le pectoral en joignant ses anneaux à ceux de l’éphod par un cordon d’azur, afin que le pectoral fût maintenu sur la ceinture de f’éphod et n’y vacillât point, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait prescrit à Moïse.
22 They made the robe that is to be worn underneath the priest’s sacred apron, using only blue [cloth].
Ensuite on fit la robe de l’éphod selon l’art du tisserand, toute en étoffe d’azur.
23 It had an opening through which [the priest] would put his head. They sewed a border around this opening, to prevent the material from tearing.
L’Ouverture de la robe était infléchie comme celle d’une cotte de mailles et garnie d’un ourlet tout autour, afin de ne pas se déchirer.
24 At the lower edge on the robe, they fastened [decorations that resembled] pomegranate fruit. The decorations were [woven from] blue, purple, and red yarn/thread.
On disposa, au bas de la robe, des grenades d’azur, de pourpre et d’écarlate, à brins retors;
25 Between each of these decorations, they fastened a tiny bell made from pure gold, so there was a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, alternating all around the hem of the robe
et l’on fit des clochettes d’or pur et l’on entremêla les clochettes aux grenades, au bas de la robe, tout autour, entre les grenades:
26 for [Aaron to wear while] he did his work as a priest. They made all these things exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
une clochette, puis une grenade; une clochette, puis une grenade, au bord de la robe, tout autour, pour le saint ministère, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
27 They wove long-sleeved tunics/gowns from fine white linen, for Aaron and his sons.
On confectionna les tuniques en fin lin, selon l’art du tisserand, pour Aaron et pour ses fils;
28 They also made a turban of fine linen [for Aaron to wear around his head]. They made the caps and the undershorts [for Aaron’s sons] from fine linen.
et la tiare en fin lin, de même que les turbans pour coiffure;
29 They made the embroidered sash/waistband [for Aaron] from fine linen and from blue, purple, and red cloth, and they embroidered designs on it using blue, purple, and red yarn/thread, exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
et les caleçons de toile, en lin retors; et l’écharpe, en lin retors, azur, pourpre et écarlate, ouvragé de broderie, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
30 They also made the tiny ornament of pure gold and had a skilled workman engrave on it the words, ‘Dedicated to Yahweh’.
On exécuta la plaque, diadème sacré, en or pur et l’on y traça cette inscription gravée comme sur un sceau: "CONSACRÉ AU SEIGNEUR".
31 They fastened this to the front of the turban by a blue cord, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
On y fixa un ruban d’azur, qui devait passer sur la tiare, vers le sommet, comme l’Éternel l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
32 Finally they finished all the work to make the Sacred Tent. They brought to Moses/me all the things that they had made. They had made them exactly as Yahweh had commanded me.
Ainsi fut terminé tout le travail du tabernacle de la Tente d’assignation; les Israélites l’avaient exécuté en agissant, de tout point, selon ce que l’Éternel avait enjoint à Moïse.
33 They brought to him/me the Sacred Tent and all the things that were used with it: the hooks, the frames, the crossbars, the posts and their bases,
Alors on apporta à Moïse le tabernacle et le pavillon avec toutes leurs pièces: agrafes, solives, traverses, piliers et socles;
34 the coverings for the Sacred Tent that were made of tanned/dyed rams’ skins and goatskins, the curtains,
la couverture de peaux de bélier teintes en rouge, la couverture de peaux de Tahach et le voile protecteur;
35 the sacred chest that contained the stone slabs [on which the commandments were written], the poles, the lid for the chest,
l’arche du Statut avec ses barres et le propitiatoire;
36 the table with all the things that were used with it, the sacred bread [that was offered] to God,
la table avec toutes ses pièces et les pains de proposition;
37 the lampstand made of pure gold and all its lamps and all the things that were to be used to take care of it, the oil for the lamps,
le candélabre d’or pur, avec ses lampes tout arrangées et tous ses ustensiles; l’huile du luminaire;
38 the golden altar [for burning incense], the oil for anointing, the sweet-smelling incense, the curtain for the entrance to the Sacred Tent,
l’autel d’or, l’huile d’onction et le parfum aromatique; le rideau d’entrée de la Tente;
39 the bronze altar [for burning sacrifices] and its bronze grating, the poles [for carrying] it, and all the other things that were used with it, the washbasin and its base,
l’autel de cuivre avec son grillage de cuivre, ses barres et tous ses ustensiles; la cuve avec son support;
40 the curtains [that surrounded] the courtyard, the posts and bases that supported them, the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard and its ropes, the tent pegs, and all the other things that would be used in the Sacred Tent,
les toiles du parvis, ses piliers et, ses socles; le rideau formant la porte du parvis, ainsi que ses cordages et ses chevilles, enfin tous les ustensiles nécessaires au tabernacle de la Tente d’assignation; les tapis d’emballage pour le service des choses saintes;
41 the beautiful sacred clothes for Aaron to wear when he did his work in the Holy Place, and the special clothes for his sons to wear as they did their work as priests.
les vêtements sacrés d’Aaron le pontife et les vêtements sacerdotaux de ses fils.
42 The Israeli people had done all this work exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
Exactement comme le Seigneur l’avait commandé à Moïse, ainsi les Israélites avaient accompli toute la tâche.
43 Then Moses/I saw all the work that they had done. Truly, they had done everything exactly as Yahweh had commanded [that it should be done]. Then Moses/I [asked God to] bless them.
Moïse examina tout le travail: or ils l’avaient exécuté conformément aux prescriptions du Seigneur. Et Moïse les bénit.
