Exodus 39
1 Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled workmen made the beautiful clothes for Aaron to wear while he did his work as a priest in the Holy Place. They made them from blue, purple, and red cloth, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
De ambtsgewaden voor de dienst in het heiligdom vervaardigde men van violet, purper en karmozijn; men vervaardigde de heilige gewaden van Aäron juist zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
2 They made the sacred apron from fine white linen and from blue, purple, and red cloth.
Hij maakte het borstkleed van goud, violet, purper, karmozijn en getwijnd lijnwaad.
3 They hammered some thin sheets of gold and cut them into thin strips which they embroidered into the fine linen and into the blue, purple, and red cloth.
Zij pletten het goud tot bladen en sneden het tot draden, om die kunstig tussen het violet, purper, karmozijn en het lijnwaad te weven.
4 The apron had two shoulder straps, to join the front part to the back part at the shoulders.
De schouderbanden, die onderling verbonden waren, hechtte hij aan de twee uiteinden daarvan vast.
5 A carefully-woven sash, which was made from the same materials as the sacred apron, was [sewn] onto the sacred apron. This was made exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
De band, die het borstkleed omsloot, was uit één stuk, en van hetzelfde maaksel: van goud, violet, purper, karmozijn en getwijnd lijnwaad, zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
6 They cut two valuable onyx stones and enclosed them in a tiny gold frame, and a skilled gem-cutter engraved on the stones the names of the twelve sons of Jacob.
De beide onyxstenen, waarin de namen van Israëls zonen waren gegrift, zoals men in zegelstenen snijdt, vatte men in gouden zettingen.
7 They fastened the stones to the shoulder straps of the sacred apron, to represent the twelve Israeli tribes, exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
Hij hechtte ze op de schouderbanden van het borstkleed als gedachtenisstenen voor Israëls zonen, zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
8 They made the sacred chest pouch. They made it of the same materials as the sacred apron and embroidered it in the same way.
Hij maakte de borsttas kunstig bewerkt van dezelfde stof als het borstkleed: van goud, violet, purper, karmozijn, en getwijnd lijnwaad.
9 It was square, and the material was folded double, so that it was (9 in./22 cm.) long and (9 in./22 cm.) wide.
De borsttas was vierkant, en men vouwde haar dubbel; en dubbelgevouwen was zij een span lang en een span breed.
10 They fastened four rows of valuable stones onto the pouch. In the first row, they put a [red] ruby, a [yellow] topaz, and a [red] garnet.
Men bezette haar met vier rijen edelstenen; op de eerste rij: een robijn, een topaas en een smaragd;
11 In the second row, they put a [green] emerald, a [blue] sapphire, and a [clear/white] diamond.
op de tweede rij: een karbonkel, een saffier en een sardonix;
12 In the third row they put a [red] jacinth, a [white] agate, and a [purple] amethyst.
op de derde rij: een hyacint, een agaat en een ametist;
13 In the fourth row, they put a [yellow] beryl, a [red] carnelian, and a [green] jasper. They set each of the stones in tiny gold frames.
en op de vierde rij: een chrysoliet, een onyx en een jaspis. Bij het zetten werden ze in gouden zettingen gevat.
14 On each of the twelve stones they engraved the name of one of the sons of Jacob, to represent one of the twelve Israeli tribes.
Deze stenen beantwoordden aan de namen van Israëls zonen; ze waren evenals hun namen twaalf in getal, en in iedere steen was de naam van één der twaalf stammen gegrift, zoals men een zegel snijdt.
15 They made two [chains] from pure gold and braided them like cords, to [attach] the sacred pouch [to the sacred apron].
Aan de borsttas maakte men kettinkjes van zuiver goud als koorden gevlochten.
16 They made two gold rings, and they attached them to the upper corners of the sacred pouch.
Men vervaardigde ook twee gouden ringen, die men aan de beide boveneinden van de borsttas vasthechtte.
17 They fastened one end of each cord to one of the rings.
Dan bevestigde men de twee gouden snoeren aan de beide ringen, die aan de boveneinden van de borsttas zaten.
18 They fastened the other end of each cord to the two (settings/tiny frames) [that enclosed the stones]. Then they attached the sacred pouch to the shoulder straps of the sacred apron.
De beide einden van de twee snoeren maakte men aan de beide zettingen vast, en hechtte ze aan de voorkant der schouderbanden van het borstkleed.
19 Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the lower corners of the sacred pouch, on the inside edges, next to the sacred apron.
Vervolgens maakte men nog twee gouden ringen, en bevestigde die aan de beide benedeneinden van de borsttas en wel aan de binnenrand, die tegen het borstkleed lag;
20 They made two more gold rings and attached them to the lower part of the front of the shoulder straps, near to where [the shoulder straps] were joined [to the sacred apron], just above the carefully-woven sash/waistband.
bovendien nog twee gouden ringen, die men onder aan de voorkant van het borstkleed hechtte, boven de band van het borstkleed en vlak bij de sluiting.
21 They tied the rings on the sacred pouch to the rings on the sacred apron with a blue cord, so that the sacred pouch was above the sash/waistband and would not come loose from the sacred apron.
Dan bond men de ringen van de borsttas met een purperen snoer aan de ringen van het borstkleed vast, zodat de borsttas boven de band van het borstkleed bleef hangen, en niet op het borstkleed kon verschuiven: zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
22 They made the robe that is to be worn underneath the priest’s sacred apron, using only blue [cloth].
Hij maakte over het borstkleed een kunstig geweven schoudermantel, geheel van violet.
23 It had an opening through which [the priest] would put his head. They sewed a border around this opening, to prevent the material from tearing.
De opening van de mantel was in het midden als de hals van een wapenrok, en was rondom gezoomd, zodat ze niet kon inscheuren.
24 At the lower edge on the robe, they fastened [decorations that resembled] pomegranate fruit. The decorations were [woven from] blue, purple, and red yarn/thread.
Aan de onderrand van de schoudermantel bracht men violette, purperen en karmozijnen granaatappeltjes aan.
25 Between each of these decorations, they fastened a tiny bell made from pure gold, so there was a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, alternating all around the hem of the robe
Men maakte belletjes van zuiver goud, en zette die tussen de granaatappeltjes, rond de onderrand van de schoudermantel;
26 for [Aaron to wear while] he did his work as a priest. They made all these things exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
dus om beurt telkens een belletje en een granaatappeltje rond de onderrand van de schoudermantel, die voor de eredienst was bestemd, zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
27 They wove long-sleeved tunics/gowns from fine white linen, for Aaron and his sons.
Vervolgens maakte men voor Aäron en zijn zonen de tunieken van lijnwaad, kunstig bewerkt,
28 They also made a turban of fine linen [for Aaron to wear around his head]. They made the caps and the undershorts [for Aaron’s sons] from fine linen.
de tulband en de hoofddoeken van lijnwaad, de linnen heupkleren van getwijnd lijnwaad,
29 They made the embroidered sash/waistband [for Aaron] from fine linen and from blue, purple, and red cloth, and they embroidered designs on it using blue, purple, and red yarn/thread, exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
en de kunstig bewerkte gordel van getwijnd lijnwaad, van violet, purper en karmozijn, zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
30 They also made the tiny ornament of pure gold and had a skilled workman engrave on it the words, ‘Dedicated to Yahweh’.
Tenslotte vervaardigde men de plaat, de heilige diadeem, van zuiver goud, en men grifte daarin, als in een zegel: Aan Jahweh gewijd.
31 They fastened this to the front of the turban by a blue cord, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
Met een purperen snoer maakte men ze aan de tulband vast, zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
32 Finally they finished all the work to make the Sacred Tent. They brought to Moses/me all the things that they had made. They had made them exactly as Yahweh had commanded me.
Zo werd heel het werk van de tabernakel, de openbaringstent, voltooid en voerden de Israëlieten alles nauwkeurig uit, zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
33 They brought to him/me the Sacred Tent and all the things that were used with it: the hooks, the frames, the crossbars, the posts and their bases,
Toen brachten zij de tabernakel naar Moses, de Tent met al haar toebehoren, de haken, schotten en bindlatten, en de palen met hun voetstukken;
34 the coverings for the Sacred Tent that were made of tanned/dyed rams’ skins and goatskins, the curtains,
het dek van rood geverfde ramsvellen en het dekkleed van gelooide huiden en het afsluittapijt;
35 the sacred chest that contained the stone slabs [on which the commandments were written], the poles, the lid for the chest,
de ark des Verbonds met haar handbomen en het verzoendeksel;
36 the table with all the things that were used with it, the sacred bread [that was offered] to God,
de tafel met toebehoren en de toonbroden;
37 the lampstand made of pure gold and all its lamps and all the things that were to be used to take care of it, the oil for the lamps,
de kandelaar van zuiver goud met zijn lampen er bovenop, met alle benodigdheden en de olie voor de kandelaar;
38 the golden altar [for burning incense], the oil for anointing, the sweet-smelling incense, the curtain for the entrance to the Sacred Tent,
het gouden altaar, de zalfolie, de geurige wierook en het tapijt voor de ingang van de Tent;
39 the bronze altar [for burning sacrifices] and its bronze grating, the poles [for carrying] it, and all the other things that were used with it, the washbasin and its base,
het bronzen altaar met zijn bronzen rasterwerk, zijn handbomen en al wat er bij hoort; het wasbekken met zijn onderstel;
40 the curtains [that surrounded] the courtyard, the posts and bases that supported them, the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard and its ropes, the tent pegs, and all the other things that would be used in the Sacred Tent,
de gordijnen en palen, met hun voetstukken voor de voorhof; het tapijt voor de ingang van de voorhof; de touwen en pinnen, en alles wat er nodig was voor de bouw van de tabernakel, de openbaringstent;
41 the beautiful sacred clothes for Aaron to wear when he did his work in the Holy Place, and the special clothes for his sons to wear as they did their work as priests.
de ambtsgewaden voor de eredienst in het heiligdom, de heilige gewaden voor den priester Aäron, en de priestergewaden voor zijn zonen.
42 The Israeli people had done all this work exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses/me.
De kinderen Israëls hadden alles vervaardigd, juist zoals Jahweh het Moses bevolen had.
43 Then Moses/I saw all the work that they had done. Truly, they had done everything exactly as Yahweh had commanded [that it should be done]. Then Moses/I [asked God to] bless them.
Toen Moses dan ook al het werk had gezien, en het bleek, dat zij alles volgens de bevelen van Jahweh hadden vervaardigd, zegende hij hen.
