Exodus 29

1 “This is what you must do to dedicate Aaron and his sons to serve me [by being] priests: Select one young bull and two rams that do not have any defects.

Mais voici ce que tu feras encore pour qu’ils me soient consacrés dans le sacerdoce. Prends un veau du troupeau et deux béliers sans tache,

2 Bake three [kinds of bread] using finely-ground wheat flour, but without yeast: Bake some loaves that do not have any olive oil in them, bake some loaves that have olive oil in the dough, and bake some thin wafers that will be smeared with olive oil [after they are baked].

Des pains azymes, une galette sans levain, qui soit arrosée d’huile, et aussi des beignets sans levain, oints d’huile: c’est avec de la fleur de farine de froment que tu feras toutes ces choses.

3 Put them in a basket and offer them [to me] when you sacrifice the young bull and the two rams.

Et après les avoir mises dans une corbeille, tu les offriras, ainsi que le veau et les deux béliers.

4 Take Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Sacred Tent, and wash them [ritually].

Tu feras ensuite approcher, Aaron et ses fils de la porte du tabernacle de témoignage. Or, lorsque tu auras lavé le père et ses fils avec de l’eau,

5 Then put the special clothes on Aaron—the long-sleeved tunic/gown, the robe that will be worn underneath the sacred apron, the sacred apron, the sacred pouch, and the sash/waistband.

Tu revêtiras Aaron de ses vêtements c’est-à-dire de la tunique de lin, de la robe, de l’éphod et du rational que tu lieras avec la ceinture.

6 Place the turban on his head, and fasten to the turban the ornament that has the words ‘Dedicated to Yahweh’ engraved on it.

Et tu mettras la tiare sur sa tête, et la lame sainte sur la tiare,

7 Then take the oil and pour some on his head to (dedicate him/set him apart).

Et tu répandras sur sa tête l’huile de l’onction; et c’est par ce rite qu’il sera consacré.

8 Then bring his sons and put the long-sleeved tunics/gowns on them.

Tu feras approcher aussi ses fils, et tu les revêtiras de tuniques de lin, et tu les ceindras de la ceinture,

9 Put the sashes/waistbands around their waists and the caps on their heads. That is the ritual by which you are to (dedicate them/set them apart) to be priests. Aaron and his male descendants must serve me [by being] priests forever.

C’est-à-dire, Aaron et ses enfants; puis tu leur mettras des mitres; et ils seront mes prêtres par un culte perpétuel. Après que tu auras consacré leurs mains,

10 “Then bring the young bull to the entrance of the Sacred Tent. Tell Aaron and his sons to put their hands on the head of the young bull.

Tu feras aussi approcher le veau devant le tabernacle de témoignage. Alors Aaron et ses fils poseront les mains sur sa tête,

11 Then, while they do that, kill the young bull [by slitting its throat], and catch/drain the blood in a bowl.

Et tu le tueras en la présence du Seigneur, près de la porte du tabernacle de témoignage.

12 Take some of that blood with your finger and smear it on the projections of the altar. Throw/Splash the rest of the blood against the base of the altar.

Puis, après avoir pris du sang du veau, tu le mettras sur les cornes de l’autel avec ton doigt; mais le reste du sang, tu le répandras au pied de l’autel.

13 Take all the fat that covers the inner organs of the young bull, the best part of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn all these on the altar [as an offering to me].

Tu prendras encore toute la graisse qui couvre les intestins, la membrane réticulaire du foie, les deux reins et la graisse qui est dessus, et tu les offriras en les brûlant sur l’autel:

14 But the meat of the young bull and its hide and intestines must be burned outside the camp. That will be an offering to forgive the guilt of your sins.

Pour la chair du veau et sa peau et sa fiente, tu les brûleras dehors, au-delà du camp, parce que c’est une hostie pour le péché.

15 “Then select one of the rams, and tell Aaron and his sons to put their hands on the head of the ram.

Tu prendras aussi l’un des béliers, sur la tête duquel Aaron et ses fils poseront les mains.

16 Then kill the ram [by slitting its throat]. Catch/Drain some of the blood and splash it against all four sides of the altar.

Lorsque tu l’auras tué, tu prendras de son sang, et tu le répandras autour de l’autel.

17 Then cut the ram into pieces. Wash its inner organs and its rear legs and put those with the head

Mais le bélier lui-même, tu le couperas en morceaux, puis tu mettras ses intestins et ses pieds lavés sur sa chair coupée, et sur sa tête.

18 and burn those pieces [completely] on the altar with the rest of the ram. That will be an offering to me, Yahweh, and the smell will please me.

Et tu offriras tout le bélier en le brûlant sur l’autel: c’est une oblation au Seigneur, une odeur très suave de la victime du Seigneur.

19 “Take the other ram [that was selected for these rituals], and tell Aaron and his sons to put their hands on the ram’s head.

Tu prendras aussi l’autre bélier, sur la tête duquel Aaron et ses fils poseront les mains.

20 Then kill the ram by slitting its throat, and drain the blood [into a bowl]. Smear some of the blood on the lobe of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Throw/Splash the rest of the blood against the four sides of the altar.

Lorsque tu l’auras égorgé, tu prendras de son sang et tu en mettras sur l’extrémité de l’oreille droite d’Aaron et de ses fils, et sur les pouces de leur main et de leur pied droit, et tu répandras autour.

21 Wipe up some of the blood that is on the altar, mix it with some of the oil for anointing, and sprinkle it on Aaron and his clothes, and on his sons and their clothes. By doing that, you will dedicate them and their clothes [to me].

Et lorsque tu auras pris du sang qui est sur l’autel et de l’huile de l’onction, tu aspergeras Aaron et ses vêtements, ses fils et leurs vêtements. Eux-mêmes et leurs vêtements ainsi consacrés,

22 “Also, cut off the ram’s fat and its fat tail and the fat that covers the inner organs, the best part of the liver, the two kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh.

Tu prendras du bélier, la graisse, la queue, le gras qui couvre les entrailles, la membrane réticulaire du foie, les deux reins et la graisse qui est dessus et l’épaule droite, parce que c’est un bélier de consécration.

23 Take also one of each of the kinds of bread [that was baked]—one made with no oil, one with oil, and one thin wafer.

De plus, une miche de pain, une galette arrosée d’huile et un beignet de la corbeille des azymes qui a été posée en la présence du Seigneur:

24 Put all these things in the hands of Aaron and his sons. [Then tell them to] lift them up [high] to dedicate them to me.

Et tu mettras toutes ces choses sur les mains d’Aaron et de ses fils et tu les sanctifieras en élevant ces dons devant le Seigneur.

25 Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar, on top of the other things [that were placed there]. That [also] will be an offering to me, and its smell will please me.

Tu recevras ensuite toutes ces choses de leurs mains, et tu les brûleras sur l’autel en holocauste, odeur très suave en la présence du Seigneur, parce que c’est son oblation.

26 Then take the meat of the ribs of the second ram that was killed, and lift it up [high] as an offering to me. But then this part of the animal will be for you [to eat].

Tu prendras aussi la poitrine du bélier au moyen duquel a été consacré Aaron, et tu la sanctifieras après avoir été élevée devant le Seigneur, et elle deviendra ta part.

27 Then take the meat of the ribs, the other thigh of the first ram that was sacrificed to (dedicate/set apart) the priests, and the ram whose other parts were lifted high to show that they were an offering to me; and set the meat of the ribs and thigh apart for Aaron and his sons, for them to eat.

Et tu sanctifieras aussi la poitrine consacrée, et l’épaule que tu as séparée du bélier

28 In the future, whenever the Israeli people present to me, Yahweh, offerings to maintain fellowship with me, the ribs and the thigh [of animals that they sacrifice] will be for Aaron and his male descendants [to eat].

Au moyen duquel ont été consacrés Aaron et ses fils, et elles deviendront la part d’Aaron et de ses fils, par un droit perpétuel, parmi les enfants d’Israël, parce que ce sont de leurs victimes pacifiques les premières parties qu’ils offrirent d’abord au Seigneur.

29 “After Aaron [dies], the special clothes that he wore will belong to his sons. They are to wear those clothes when they are (set apart/dedicated) [to become priests].

Quant au saint vêtement dont se servira Aaron, ses fils l’auront après lui, afin qu’ils soient oints, en étant revêtus, et que leurs mains soient consacrées.

30 Aaron’s son who becomes The Supreme Priest and enters the Sacred Tent and performs rituals in the Holy Place must [stay in the Sacred Tent], wearing these special clothes, for seven days.

Pendant sept jours il servira à celui de ses fils qui aura été établi pontife à sa place, et qui entrera dans le tabernacle de témoignage pour exercer son ministère dans le sanctuaire.

31 “Take the meat of the other ram that was sacrificed to (set apart/dedicate) Aaron and his sons, and boil it in the courtyard.

Or, tu prendras le bélier de la consécration, et tu cuiras dans un lieu saint sa chair,

32 After it is cooked, Aaron and his sons must eat it, along with the bread that is left in the basket, at the entrance of the Sacred Tent.

Dont mangeront Aaron et ses fils. Les pains aussi, qui sont dans la corbeille, ils les mangeront dans le vestibule du tabernacle de témoignage.

33 They must eat the meat of the ram that was sacrificed to forgive them for [their sins] when they were dedicated to do this work. They are the only ones who are permitted to eat this meat. [Those who are not priests are not allowed to eat it], because it is dedicated to me.

Afin que ce soit an sacrifice propitiatoire, et que soient sanctifiées les mains de ceux qui les offrent. L’étranger n’en mangera point, parce qu’ils sont saints.

34 If any of this meat or some of the bread is not eaten that night, no one is permitted to eat any of it the next day. It must be completely burned, because it is sacred/dedicated to me.

Que s’il demeure de la chair consacrée ou des pains jusqu’au matin, tu brûleras les restes au feu: on ne mangera point de ces choses, parce qu’elles sont sanctifiées.

35 “Those are the rituals that you(sg) must perform during those seven days when you dedicate Aaron and his sons for this work. You must do everything that I have commanded you.

Tu feras touchant Aaron et ses fils, tout ce que je t’ai ordonné. Pendant sept jours tu consacreras leurs mains,

36 Each of those seven days you must also sacrifice a young bull as an offering to me, in order that I may forgive sins. Also, you must make another offering (to make the altar pure in my sight/in order that I will consider the altar to be pure). You must also anoint the altar with olive oil, to (set it apart/dedicate it).

Et tu offriras chaque jour un veau en expiation pour le péché. Et tu purifieras l’autel lorsque tu auras immolé l’hostie d’expiation, et tu l’oindras pour le sanctifier.

37 Perform these rituals every day for seven days, to (set apart/dedicate) the altar and make it pure. If you do not do that, anyone or anything that touches the altar will become taboo.

Pendant sept jours tu purifieras l’autel, et tu le sanctifieras, il sera très saint; quiconque le touchera sera sanctifié.

38 “You must also sacrifice lambs and burn them on the altar. Each of those [seven] days you must sacrifice two lambs.

Voici ce que tu sacrifieras sur l’autel: Deux agneaux d’un an, chaque jour, sans interruption,

39 One lamb must be sacrificed in the morning, and one must be sacrificed in the evening.

Un agneau le matin, et l’autre le soir;

40 With the first lamb, also offer (2 pounds/1 kilogram) of finely-ground wheat flour mixed with one quart/liter of the best kind of olive oil, and one quart/liter of wine as an offering.

La dixième partie de l’éphi de fleur de farine arrosée d’huile pilée, qui ait pour mesure la quatrième partie du hin, et du vin pour les libations selon la même mesure, sur un agneau.

41 In the evening, when you sacrifice the other lamb, offer the same amounts of flour, olive oil, and wine as you did in the morning. This will be an offering to me, Yahweh, that will be burned, and its smell will please me.

Mais l’autre agneau, tu l’offriras vers le soir, selon le rite de l’oblation du matin, et selon ce que nous avons dit, en odeur de suavité.

42 You [and your descendants] must continue making these offerings to me, Yahweh, throughout all future generations. You must offer them at the entrance of the Sacred Tent. That is where I will meet with you and speak to you.

C’est un sacrifice qui sera offert au Seigneur, d’une oblation perpétuelle en vos générations, à la porte du tabernacle de témoignage devant le Seigneur, où je me tiendrai pour te parler.

43 That is where I will meet with the Israeli people, and the brilliant light of my presence will cause that place to be holy/sacred.

Et c’est là que j’ordonnerai aux enfants d’Israël, et que sera sanctifié l’autel par ma gloire.

44 I will dedicate the Sacred Tent and the altar. I will also dedicate Aaron and his sons to serve me [by being] priests.

Je sanctifierai aussi le tabernacle de témoignage avec l’autel, et Aaron avec ses fils, afin qu’ils exercent les fonctions du sacerdoce pour moi.

45 I will live among the Israeli people, and I will be their God.

Ainsi j’habiterai au milieu des enfants d’Israël, et je serai leur Dieu.

46 They will know that I, Yahweh their God, am the one who brought them out of Egypt in order that I might live among them.”

Et ils sauront que c’est moi, le Seigneur leur Dieu qui les ai retirés de la terre d’Egypte, afin que je demeurasse parmi eux, moi, le Seigneur leur Dieu.
