Exodus 20
1 Then God said this [to the Israeli people: ]
Gisulti sa Dios kining tanan nga mga pulong:
2 “I am Yahweh God, the one you [worship]. I am the one who brought you out of Egypt. I am the one who freed you from being slaves [there].
“Ako si Yahweh nga inyong Dios, nga nagpagawas kaninyo sa yuta sa Ehipto, pagawas sa balay sa pagkaulipon.
3 [So] you must worship [only] me; you must not worship any other god.
Kinahanglan nga wala kamoy lain nga mga dios gawas kanako.
4 You must not carve/make for yourselves any idol that represents anything in the sky or that is on the ground or that is in the water under the ground/earth.
Ayaw kamo paghimo sa inyong kaugalingon sa kinulit nga hulagway ni larawan sa bisan unsa nga mga butang nga anaa ibabaw sa langit, o nga anaa sa ilalom sa yuta, o anaa sa ilalom sa tubig.
5 You must not bow down to any idol and worship it, because I am Yahweh God, and I (am very jealous/want you to worship me only). I will punish those who sin and hate me. I will punish not only them, but I will punish (their descendants, down to the third and fourth generation/their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren).
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo moyukbo niini o mosimba niini, kay ako, si Yahweh nga inyong Dios, abughoan nga Dios. Pagasilotan ko ang pagkadaotan sa mga katigulangan pinaagi sa pagdala ug silot sa mga kaliwat, ngadto sa ikatulo ug ikaupat nga kaliwatan niadtong nasilag kanako.
6 But I will steadfastly love thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my commandments (OR, I will love for thousands of generations.)
Apan ipakita ko ang matinud-anong kasabotan ngadto sa liboan nga nahigugma kanako ug nagtuman sa akong mga sugo.
7 Do not use my name carelessly (OR, for wrong/evil purposes), because I am Yahweh God, the one whom you [should worship], and I will certainly punish those who use my name for wrong/evil purposes [LIT].
Kinahanglan nga dili ninyo gamiton ang ngalan ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios, sa pagpasipala, tungod kay pakasad-on ko gayod siya nga nagpasipala sa akong ngalan.
8 Do not forget that the seventh day [of every week] is mine, so dedicate those days to me.
Hinumdomi ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay, nga igahin kini kanako.
9 There are six days each week for you to do all your work,
Kinahanglan nga maghago kamo ug buhaton ang tanang bulohaton sulod sa unom ka mga adlaw.
10 but the seventh day is a day of rest, a day dedicated to me, Yahweh God, the one whom you [should worship]. On that day you must not do any work. You and your sons and daughters and your male and female slaves must not work. You must not even force your livestock to work, and you must not allow foreigners to work, those who are living in your country.
Apan ang ikapitong adlaw nga mao ang Igpapahulay alang kang Yahweh nga inyong Dios. Niining adlawa kinahanglan nga dili kamo magbuhat ug bisan unsa nga bulohaton, kamo, o ang inyong anak nga lalaki, o ang inyong anak nga babaye, o ang inyong sulugoon nga lalaki, o ang inyong sulugoon nga babaye, o ang inyong baka, ang langyaw nga anaa sa inyong mga ganghaan.
11 I, Yahweh, created the sky, the earth, the ocean, and everything that is in them, in six days. Then I stopped my work of creating everything, and rested on the seventh day. That is the reason that I, Yahweh, have blessed the rest day and set it apart [to be a sacred/special day].
Tungod kay sulod sa unom ka adlaw gibuhat ni Yahweh ang kalangitan ug ang yuta, ang dagat, ug ang tanan nga anaa niini, ug mipahulay sa ikapito nga adlaw. Busa gibalaan ni Yahweh ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay ug gilain kini.
12 Honor/Respect your fathers and your mothers, in order that you may live a long time in the land that I, Yahweh God, will give you.
Tahora ang inyong amahan ug ang inyong inahan, aron nga mabuhi kamo sa hataas nga panahon sa yuta nga igahatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios diha kaninyo.
13 Do not murder anyone.
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo mopatay.
14 Do not (commit adultery/have sex with anyone other than your spouse).
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo manapaw.
15 Do not steal anything.
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo mangawat kang bisan kinsa.
16 Do not falsely accuse anyone [of committing a crime].
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo magbutangbutang batok sa inyong silingan.
17 Do not (covet/desire to have) someone else’s house, someone else’s wife, someone else’s male or female slave, someone else’s livestock, someone else’s donkeys, or anything else that some other person owns.”
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo magtinguha sa balay sa inyong silingan; kinahanglan nga dili kamo magtinguha sa asawa sa inyong silingan, sa iyang sulugoon nga lalaki, sa iyang sulugoon nga babaye, sa iyang toro nga baka, sa iyang asno, o sa bisan unsa nga mga butang nga gipanag-iyahan sa inyong silingan.”
18 When the people heard the thunder and saw the lightning, and when they heard the sound of the trumpet and saw the smoke on the mountain, they were afraid and trembled. They stood at a distance,
Nakita sa tibuok katawhan ang pagdalugdog ug ang pagkilat, ug nadungog ang paglanog sa budyong, ug nakita nga nag-aso ang bukid. Sa pagkakita sa mga tawo niini, nangalisang sila ug nanagpanindog sa halayo.
19 and said to Moses/me, “If you speak to us, we will listen. But do not let God speak any more to us. [We are afraid that] if he speaks [any more] to us, we will die.”
Miingon sila kang Moises, “Sultihi kami, ug maminaw kami; apan ayaw tugoti nga ang Dios ang mosulti kanamo, kay tingali ug mangamatay kami.”
20 Moses/I replied, “Do not be afraid! God has come to determine/test [how you will behave]. He wants you to revere him, and to not sin.”
Miingon si Moises sa katawhan, “Ayaw kahadlok, kay mianhi ang Dios aron sa pagsulay kaninyo aron nga ang iyang kadungganan maanaa kaninyo, ug aron nga dili kamo makasala.”
21 Then, as the people [watched from] a distance, Moses/I went close to the black cloud where God was.
Busa nanagpanindog ang mga tawo sa halayo, ug miduol si Moises sa baga nga naglagitom nga panganod diin anaa ang Dios.
22 Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Say this to the Israeli people: ‘You have heard how I, Yahweh, have spoken to you from heaven. I told you that you must not make any idols of silver or gold [that you will worship instead] of me.
Miingon si Yahweh kang Moises, “Mao kini ang angay mong isulti sa mga Israelita: 'Nakita gayod ninyo nga nakigsulti ako kaninyo gikan sa langit.
Ayaw kamo pagbuhat ug uban nga mga dios alang sa inyong kaugalingon gawas kanako, mga dios nga plata o mga dios nga bulawan.
24 Make for me an altar from dirt. Sacrifice on it the animals that you will burn completely. Also sacrifice on it the animals that you will not burn completely, to maintain fellowship with me. Worship me [MTY] in any place that I choose for you to honor/worship me; and if you do that, I will come to you and bless you.
Kinahanglan nga magbuhat kamo ug halaran nga yuta alang kanako, ug kinahanglan nga maghalad kamo sa inyong mga halad sinunog sa ibabaw niini, mga halad sa pakigdait, karnero, ug mga torong baka. Sa matag dapit diin mapasidunggan ko ang akong ngalan, moanha ako kaninyo ug panalanginan kamo.
25 If you make for me an altar from stones, do not make it from stones that you have cut [to make them look nice], because you will make the altar unsuitable for [worshiping] me if you use tools to cut the stones.
Kung himoan ninyo ako ug bato nga halaran, kinahanglan nga dili ninyo kini himoon pinaagi sa tinabas nga mga bato, kay kung gamiton ninyo ang inyong mga kahimanan niini, mapasipad-an ninyo kini.
26 Do not make an altar that has steps in front of it, because if you do that, [people] could see your naked [buttocks] as you go up the steps.’”
Kinahanglan nga dili kamo moadto sa akong halaran pinaagi sa hagdanan; aron nga dili makita ang tinagoan nga bahin sa inyong lawas.”'
