Exodus 14
1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
௧யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி:
2 “Tell the Israeli people to turn around and go back and set up their tents in front of Pi-Hahiroth [town]. That town is between Migdol and the sea, across from Baal-Zephon [town]. Set up your tents there, close to the sea.
௨“நீங்கள் திரும்பி மிக்தோலுக்கும் கடலுக்கும் நடுவே பாகால்செபோனுக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிற ஈரோத் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் முன்பாக முகாமிடவேண்டும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்குச் சொல்லு; அதற்கு எதிராக கடற்கரையில் முகாமிடுங்கள்.
3 When the king [knows you have done that], he will think, ‘The Israeli people are confused. They are wandering around, and the desert blocks their path.’
௩அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் இஸ்ரவேலர்களைக்குறித்து: அவர்கள் தேசத்திலே திகைத்துத் திரிகிறார்கள்; வனாந்திரம் அவர்களை அடைத்துப்போட்டது என்று சொல்லுவான்.
4 But I will make the king stubborn [again], and he will [take his army and] pursue you. Then my people will praise/thank me for winning a victory over the king and his army. And the Egyptians will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].” So [Moses/I told my people that, and] they did what he/I told them to do.
௪ஆகையால், பார்வோன் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடரும்படி, நான் அவன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி, நானே யெகோவா என்பதை எகிப்தியர்கள் அறியும்படி, பார்வோனாலும் அவனுடைய எல்லா ராணுவத்தாலும் மகிமைப்படுவேன்” என்றார்; அவர்கள் அப்படியே செய்தார்கள்.
5 When someone told the king that the Israeli people had left [during the night], he and his officials changed their minds and said, “(What have we done?/What we have done was stupid!) [RHQ] The Israeli people will no longer be our slaves!”
௫மக்கள் ஓடிப்போய்விட்டார்கள் என்று எகிப்தின் ராஜாவிற்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பார்வோனும் அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களும் மனம் மாறி: “நமக்கு வேலை செய்யாதபடி நாம் இஸ்ரவேலர்களைப் போகவிட்டது என்ன காரியம்” என்றார்கள்.
6 So the king got his chariot and his army ready.
௬அவன் தன்னுடைய இரதத்தைப் பூட்டி, தன்னுடைய மக்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு,
7 Then he selected 600 of the best chariots, and in each chariot he placed a driver, a soldier, and a commander, and they left. Other chariots, with a driver and a soldier in each of them, also went along.
௭முதல்தரமான அறுநூறு இரதங்களையும், எகிப்திலுள்ள மற்ற எல்லா இரதங்களையும், அவைகள் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் அதிபதிகளான வீரர்களையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு போனான்.
8 Because Yahweh made the king of Egypt so stubborn that he and his army went to pursue the Israelis, who were leaving triumphantly,
௮யெகோவா எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோனின் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினார்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலர்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தான், இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் பலத்த கையுடன் புறப்பட்டுப் போனார்கள்.
9 the Egyptian army, with all the king’s horses and chariots and horsemen, pursued the Israelis. They caught up with them as they were camped near the sea, close to Pi-Hahiroth, in front of Baal-Zephon [town].
௯எகிப்தியர்கள் பார்வோனுடைய எல்லாக் குதிரைகளுடனும், இரதங்களோடும் அவனுடைய குதிரைவீரர்களோடும் சேனைகளோடும் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், கடலின் அருகிலே பாகால்செபோனுக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிற ஈரோத் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் முன்பாக முகாமிட்டிருக்கிற அவர்களை நெருங்கினார்கள்.
10 When the king’s army got near, the Israeli people were surprised to see that the Egyptians were marching toward them. They were terrified; so they cried out to Yahweh [to help them].
௧0பார்வோன் அருகில் வருகிறபோது, இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் தங்களுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்த்து, எகிப்தியர்கள் தங்களுக்குப் பின்னே வருகிறதைக் கண்டு, மிகவும் பயந்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள்.
11 Then they said to Moses/me, “Is it because there were no places in Egypt [where we could] be buried that you have brought us here to die in this desert [RHQ]? Look what you have done to us by bringing us out of Egypt [RHQ]!
௧௧அன்றியும் அவர்கள் மோசேயை நோக்கி: “எகிப்திலே கல்லறைகள் இல்லையென்றா வனாந்திரத்திலே சாகும்படி எங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தீர்? நீர் எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்ததால், எங்களுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தது ஏன்?
12 That is what we told you when we were in Egypt! We said, ‘Leave us alone, and let us work for the Egyptians [RHQ]!’ It would have been better for us to be slaves for the Egyptians than to die here in the desert!”
௧௨நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே இருக்கும்போது, எகிப்தியர்களுக்கு வேலை செய்ய எங்களைச் சும்மா விட்டுவிடும் என்று சொன்னோம் அல்லவா? நாங்கள் வனாந்திரத்திலே சாவதைவிட எகிப்தியர்களுக்கு வேலைசெய்கிறது எங்களுக்கு நலமாக இருக்குமே” என்றார்கள்.
13 Moses/I replied to the people, “Do not be afraid! Be brave, and see how Yahweh will rescue you! He will save you today, and the result will be that the Egyptians that you are looking at today—you will never see them again!
௧௩அப்பொழுது மோசே மக்களை நோக்கி: “பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; நீங்கள் நின்றுகொண்டு இன்றைக்குக் யெகோவா உங்களுக்குச் செய்யும் இரட்சிப்பைப் பாருங்கள்; இன்றைக்கு நீங்கள் காண்கிற எகிப்தியர்களை இனி என்றைக்கும் காணமாட்டீர்கள்.
14 Yahweh will fight for you! Just keep quiet. There is nothing else that you will have to do.”
௧௪யெகோவா உங்களுக்காக யுத்தம்செய்வார்; நீங்கள் சும்மாயிருப்பீர்கள்” என்றான்.
15 Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Tell the people to stop crying out for me [to help them], and tell them to go forward. Lift up your stick and stretch it out toward the sea. The water will divide, so that all you Israeli people can go in the middle of the sea, walking on dry ground.
௧௫அப்பொழுது யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி: “நீ என்னிடம் முறையிடுகிறது என்ன? புறப்பட்டுப் போங்கள் என்று இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்குச் சொல்லு.
௧௬நீ உன்னுடைய கோலை ஓங்கி, உன்னுடைய கையைக் கடலின்மேல் நீட்டி, கடலைப் பிளந்துவிடு; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் கடலின் நடுவாக வறண்ட நிலத்தில் நடந்துபோவார்கள்.
17 I will make the Egyptians stubborn, so that they will try to follow you. And then as a result of [what I will do to the] king and his army and his chariots and his horsemen, [my people] will praise/thank me.
௧௭எகிப்தியர்கள் உங்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து வரும்படி நான் அவர்களின் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி பார்வோனாலும் அவன் இரதங்கள் குதிரைவீரர்கள் முதலாகிய அவனுடைய எல்லா இராணுவத்தாலும் மகிமைப்படுவேன்.
18 And when I have won a glorious [victory] over the king and his chariots and his horsemen, the [other] Egyptians will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
௧௮இப்படி நான் பார்வோனாலும் அவனுடைய இரதங்களாலும் அவனுடைய குதிரைவீரர்களாலும் மகிமைப்படும்போது, நானே யெகோவா என்பதை எகிப்தியர்கள் அறிவார்கள் என்றார்.
19 Then the angel of God, who had been in front of the Israeli people, moved and went behind them. The tall bright cloud that had been in front of them also moved behind them,
௧௯அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர்களின் சேனைக்கு முன்னாக நடந்த தேவதூதனானவர் விலகி, அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாக நடந்தார்; அவர்களுக்கு முன்பு இருந்த மேகத்தூணிலும் விலகி, அவர்கள் பின்னே நின்றது.
20 until it was between the Egyptian army and the Israeli people. The cloud caused the Egyptian army to be in the dark but it gave light for the Israelis. As a result, neither group could come near the other group during the whole night.
௨0அது எகிப்தியர்களின் சேனையும் இஸ்ரவேலர்களின் சேனையும் இரவுமுழுவதும் ஒன்றோடொன்று சேராதபடி அவைகள் நடுவில் வந்தது; எகிப்தியர்களுக்கு அது மேகமும் இருளாகவும் இருந்தது, இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கோ அது இரவை வெளிச்சமாக்கிற்று.
21 [That evening], Moses/I stretched out his/my hand toward the sea. Then Yahweh sent a strong wind from the east. It blew all night and pushed the water apart, and it caused the ground between the water to dry up.
௨௧மோசே தன்னுடைய கையைக் கடலின்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது யெகோவா இரவுமுழுவதும் பலத்த கிழக்குக் காற்றினால் கடல் ஒதுங்கும்படிச் செய்து, அதை வறண்டுபோகச்செய்தார்; தண்ணீர் பிளந்து பிரிந்துபோனது.
22 Then we Israeli people went on the dry land in the middle of the sea. The water was like a wall on each side of us, on the right side and on the left side.
௨௨இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கடலின் நடுவாக வறண்ட நிலத்தில் நடந்துபோனார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய வலதுபுறத்திலும் அவர்களுடைய இடதுபுறத்திலும் தண்ணீர் அவர்களுக்கு மதிலாக நின்றது.
23 Then the Egyptian army pursued them, and went after them into the middle of the sea, with their horses and their chariots and the chariot-drivers.
௨௩அப்பொழுது எகிப்தியர்கள் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து, பார்வோனுடைய எல்லாக் குதிரைகளோடும் இரதங்களோடும் குதிரைவீரர்களோடும் அவர்கள் பின்னால் கடலின் நடுவே நடந்துபோனார்கள்.
24 Just before dawn, Yahweh looked down from the fiery cloud, and then he caused the Egyptian army to panic.
௨௪காலை நேரத்தில் யெகோவா அக்கினியும் மேகமுமான மண்டலத்திலிருந்து எகிப்தியர்களின் சேனையைப் பார்த்து, அவர்களுடைய சேனையைக் கலங்கடித்து,
25 He caused the wheels of the chariots to get stuck [in the mud], so that they could hardly move. So the Egyptians said, “Yahweh is fighting for the Israelis and against us; let’s get out of here!”
௨௫அவர்களுடைய இரதங்களிலிருந்து சக்கரங்கள் கழன்றுபோகவும், அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய இரதங்களை வருத்தத்தோடு நடத்தவும் செய்தார்; அப்பொழுது எகிப்தியர்கள்: “இஸ்ரவேலர்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போவோம், யெகோவா அவர்களுக்குத் துணைநின்று எகிப்தியர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்செய்கிறார்” என்றார்கள்.
26 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Stretch out your arm toward the sea again. Then the water will come back on the Egyptians and on their chariots and their horsemen.”
௨௬யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி: “தண்ணீர் எகிப்தியர்கள்மேலும் அவர்களுடைய இரதங்களின்மேலும் அவர்களுடைய குதிரைவீரர்களின்மேலும் திரும்பும்படி, உன்னுடைய கையைக் கடலின்மேல் நீட்டு” என்றார்.
27 So Moses/I stretched out his/my arm, and as the sun was rising, the water returned to its normal level. The Egyptians tried to escape, but Yahweh hurled them back into the sea.
௨௭அப்படியே மோசே தன்னுடைய கையைக் கடலின்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அதிகாலையில் கடல் பலமாகத் திரும்பி வந்தது; எகிப்தியர்கள் அதற்கு எதிராக ஓடும்போது, யெகோவா அவர்களைக் கடலின் நடுவே அமிழ்த்திப்போட்டார்.
28 The water returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen and the whole Egyptian army that had tried to follow us Israelis into the sea. Every one of the Egyptians drowned.
௨௮தண்ணீர் திரும்பிவந்து, இரதங்களையும் குதிரைவீரர்களையும், அவர்கள் பின்னாக கடலில் நுழைந்திருந்த பார்வோனுடைய இராணுவம் அனைத்தையும் மூடிக்கொண்டது; அவர்களில் ஒருவனாகிலும் தப்பவில்லை.
29 But we Israeli people had already crossed through the sea by walking on dry ground, with the water being [like two] walls, one on the right side and one on the left side.
௨௯இஸ்ரவேலர்களோ கடலின் நடுவாக வறண்ட நிலத்தின் வழியாக நடந்துபோனார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய வலதுபுறத்திலும் அவர்களுடைய இடதுபுறத்திலும் தண்ணீர் அவர்களுக்கு மதிலாக நின்றது.
30 That is the way Yahweh saved the Israeli people from the Egyptian army on that day. The Israeli people saw the Egyptians lying dead, [with their bodies washed up] on the shore.
௩0இப்படியாகக் யெகோவா அந்த நாளிலே இஸ்ரவேலர்களை எகிப்தியர்களின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்தார்; கடற்கரையிலே எகிப்தியர்கள் செத்துக்கிடக்கிறதை இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கண்டார்கள்.
31 The Israelis saw what Yahweh did to the Egyptians by his great power [MTY], and they were in awe of Yahweh. They trusted in Yahweh and they also trusted Moses/me.
௩௧யெகோவா எகிப்தியர்களில் செய்த அந்த மகத்தான செயல்களை இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கண்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது மக்கள் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து, யெகோவாவிடத்திலும் அவருடைய ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசேயினிடத்திலும் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தார்கள்.
