Deuteronomy 30
1 “I have now told you about the ways that Yahweh our God will bless you [if you obey him] and the ways that he will curse you [if you disobey him]. I am saying that you must choose which you want. But when [you choose not to obey his laws], some day you will be living in the countries to which he will scatter you, and you will remember [what I told you].
Or quando tutte queste cose che io t’ho poste dinanzi, la benedizione e la maledizione, si saranno effettuate per te, e tu te le ridurrai a memoria fra tutte le nazioni dove l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, t’avrà sospinto,
2 Then, if you return to Yahweh our God and faithfully [IDM] obey all that I have today commanded you to do,
e ti convertirai all’Eterno, al tuo Dio, e ubbidirai alla sua voce, tu e i tuoi figliuoli, con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l’anima tua, secondo tutto ciò che oggi io ti comando,
3 he will be merciful to you. He will bring you back from the nations to which he scattered you, and he will cause you to be prosperous again.
l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, farà ritornare i tuoi dalla schiavitù, avrà pietà di te, e ti raccoglierà di nuovo di fra tutti i popoli, fra i quali l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, t’aveva disperso.
4 Even if you have been scattered to the most distant places on the earth, Yahweh our God will gather you from there and bring you back [to your land].
Quand’anche i tuoi esuli fossero all’estremità de’ cieli, l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti raccoglierà di là, e di là ti prenderà.
5 He will enable you to possess again the land where your ancestors lived. And he will cause you to be more prosperous and more numerous than you are now.
L’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti ricondurrà nel paese che i tuoi padri avevano posseduto, e tu lo possederai; ed Egli ti farà del bene e ti moltiplicherà più dei tuoi padri.
6 Yahweh our God will change [MET] your inner beings, with the result that you will love him more than you love anything else and want to do only what he wants you to do. And then you will continue to live in that land.
L’Eterno, il tuo Dio, circonciderà il tuo cuore e il cuore della tua progenie affinché tu ami l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l’anima tua, e così tu viva.
7 Yahweh our God will cause your enemies and those who oppressed/persecuted you to experience all the disasters that I have told you about.
E l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, farà cadere tutte queste maledizioni sui tuoi nemici e su tutti quelli che t’avranno odiato e perseguitato.
8 You will do what Yahweh wants you to do, as you did before, and you will obey all the commands that I have given to you today.
E tu ti convertirai, ubbidirai alla voce dell’Eterno, e metterai in pratica tutti questi comandamenti che oggi ti do.
9 Yahweh our God will cause you to be very successful in all that you do. You will have many children [IDM], and a lot of cattle, and you will have abundant crops. He will again be happy to enable you to prosper, just like he was happy to enable your ancestors to prosper.
L’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti colmerà di beni, facendo prosperare tutta l’opera delle tue mani, il frutto delle tue viscere, il frutto dei tuo bestiame e il frutto del tuo suolo; poiché l’Eterno si compiacerà di nuovo nel farti del bene, come si compiacque nel farlo ai tuoi padri,
10 [But he will do those things only] if you do what he has told you to do, and if you obey all his rules and regulations that I have written about [in this scroll], and if you will love him more than you love anything else and want to do only what he wants you to do.
perché ubbidirai alla voce dell’Eterno, ch’è il tuo Dio, osservando i suoi comandamenti e i suoi precetti scritti in questo libro della legge, perché ti sarai convertito all’Eterno, al tuo Dio, con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l’anima tua.
11 The commands that I am giving to you today are not very difficult for you [to obey], and they are not [difficult to know].
Questo comandamento che oggi ti do, non e troppo alto per te, né troppo lontano da te.
12 They are not in heaven, with the result that you need to say, ‘(Who will need to go up to heaven for us to bring them [down here to us] in order that we can hear them and obey them?/Someone will need to go up to heaven for us to bring them [down here to us] in order that we can hear them and obey them.)’ [RHQ]
Non è nel cielo, perché tu dica: “Chi salirà per noi nel cielo e ce lo recherà e ce lo farà udire perché lo mettiamo in pratica?”
13 And they are not on the other side of the sea, with the result that you need to say, ‘(Who will need to cross the sea for us and bring them back to us, in order that we can hear them and obey them?/Someone will need to cross the sea for us and bring them back to us, in order that we can hear them and obey them.)’ [RHQ]
Non è di là dal mare, perché tu dica: “Chi passerà per noi di là dal mare e ce lo recherà e ce lo farà udire perché lo mettiamo in pratica?”
14 [You do not need to do that because] his commands are here with you. You know them [MTY] and you have (memorized them/put them in your minds). So you can [easily] obey them.
Invece questa parola è molto vicina a te; è nella tua bocca e nel tuo cuore, perché tu la metta in pratica.
15 So listen! Today I am allowing you to choose between [doing what is] evil and [doing what is] good, between what will enable you to live [for a long time] and [what will cause you] to die [while you are still young].
Vedi, io pongo oggi davanti a te la vita e il bene, la morte e il male;
16 [I say again], if you obey the commands of Yahweh our God that I am giving to you today, and if you love him and conduct your lives as he wants you to do, and if you obey all his rules and regulations, you will prosper and become very numerous, and Yahweh our God will bless you in the land that you are about to enter and possess.
poiché io ti comando oggi d’amare l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, di camminare nelle sue vie, d’osservare i suoi comandamenti, le sue leggi e i suoi precetti affinché tu viva e ti moltiplichi, e l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti benedica nel paese dove stai per entrare per prenderne possesso.
17 But if you turn away [from Yahweh] and refuse to heed what he says, and if you allow yourselves to be led away to worship other gods,
Ma se il tuo cuore si volge indietro, e se tu non ubbidisci, e ti lasci trascinare a prostrarti davanti ad altri del e a servir loro,
18 I am warning you today that you will [soon] die. You will not live for a long time in the land that you are about to cross the Jordan [River] to enter and possess.
io vi dichiaro oggi che certamente perirete, che non prolungherete i vostri giorni nel paese, per entrare in possesso del quale voi siete in procinto di passare il Giordano.
19 I am requesting that [everyone in] heaven and the earth testify to you, that today I am allowing you to choose whether you [want to] live for a long time or to soon die, whether [you want Yahweh to] bless you or to curse you. So choose to live.
Io prendo oggi a testimoni contro a voi il cielo e la terra, che io ti ho posto davanti la vita e la morte, la benedizione e la maledizione; scegli dunque la vita, onde tu viva, tu e la tua progenie,
20 [Choose to] love Yahweh our God, and to obey him [MTY], and to (be faithful to/have a close relationship with) him. If you do that, you and your descendants will live for a long time in the land that Yahweh solemnly promised to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that he would give to them.”
amando l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ubbidendo alla sua voce e tenendoti stretto a lui (poich’egli è la tua vita e colui che prolunga i tuoi giorni), affinché tu possa abitare sul suolo che l’Eterno giurò di dare ai tuoi padri Abrahamo, Isacco e Giacobbe.
