Deuteronomy 3
1 “Then we turned [north] and went toward the Bashan region. Og, the king [of that area], and all his soldiers marched [south] to fight against us at Edrei [town].
Kata Musa selanjutnya kepada umat Israel, “Ketika kita berbelok menuju wilayah Basan, Raja Og memimpin seluruh pasukan Basan untuk menyerang kita di dekat kota Edrei.
2 Yahweh said to me, ‘Do not be afraid of him, because I will enable your [army] to defeat [MTY] him and all his army and to capture all their land. Do to him what you did to Sihon, the king of the Amor people-group, who ruled in Heshbon [city].’
Tetapi TUHAN berkata kepada saya, ‘Jangan takut kepadanya, karena Aku sudah menyerahkan dia beserta seluruh pasukannya dan negerinya kepada kalian. Kalian akan menghabisi dia seperti menghabisi Sihon, raja orang Amori yang sebelumnya memerintah di Hesbon.’
3 “So Yahweh enabled us to defeat [IDM] King Og and all his army. We killed them all; we did not allow any of them to remain alive.
“Demikianlah TUHAN Allah kita menyerahkan Raja Og dan seluruh pasukannya, dan kita menghabisi mereka semua. Tidak ada yang kita biarkan hidup.
4 There were 60 cities in that region near Argob, in King Og’s kingdom of Bashan. But we captured all of them
Waktu itu, kita merebut semua kota yang dikuasai Raja Og, yaitu seluruh wilayah Argob. Semuanya ada enam puluh kota, dan tidak satu pun yang tidak kita rebut dari mereka.
5 All those cities had high walls [around them] with gates and bars. We also captured many villages that did not have walls [around them].
Semua kota itu dibentengi tembok yang tinggi dan pintu gerbang yang dikunci dengan palang-palang. Selain itu, banyak juga kota kecil yang tidak bertembok.
6 We completely destroyed everything, just as we had done [in the area that] King Sihon ruled. We killed all the men, women, and children.
Kita memusnahkan seluruh penduduk di semua kota kerajaan Basan, seperti yang kita lakukan terhadap Raja Sihon. Semua dibunuh, baik laki-laki, perempuan, maupun anak-anak.
7 But from those cities we took for ourselves all the livestock and other valuable things.
Tetapi kita mengambil semua ternak dan jarahan dari kota-kota itu untuk diri kita sendiri.
8 “So at that time we took from those two kings of the Amor people-group all the land east of the Jordan [River], from the Arnon [River] gorge [in the south] to Hermon Mountain [in the north].”
“Jadi, kita sudah merebut seluruh negeri di sebelah timur sungai Yordan dari kedua raja orang Amori itu, mulai dari lembah Arnon sampai ke gunung Hermon.
9 (That mountain is called Sirion by the people of Sidon [city] and is called Senir by the Amor people-group.)
(Gunung Hermon disebut Siryon oleh orang Sidon, dan Senir oleh orang Amori.)
10 “We captured all the towns on the (plateau/high level land), and all the Gilead [region], and all the Bashan [region] as far east as Edrei and Salecah towns, which also belonged to Og’s kingdom.”
Kita sudah merebut semua kota yang dikuasai oleh Raja Og, yaitu semua kota di dataran tinggi, daerah Gilead dan Basan, sampai ke kota Salka dan Edrei di sebelah timur.”
11 (Og was the last king who was a descendant of the Repha giants. His bed was made of iron. It was almost (14 feet/4 meters) long and (6 feet/2 meters) wide. It is still [RHQ] in Rabbah [city] in the Ammon area.)
(Raja Og adalah raksasa terakhir dari suku Refaim. Tempat tidurnya terbuat dari besi dengan panjang empat meter dan lebar hampir dua meter. Sampai penulisan kitab ini, tempat tidur itu masih ada di kota Raba, di daerah bangsa Amon.)
12 “From the land that we captured at that time, I allotted to the tribes of Reuben and Gad the land [north] of Aroer [town] near the Arnon [River], and some of the hilly area of the Gilead [region], along with the nearby towns.
“Sesudah kita menduduki negeri ini, saya membagikannya kepada suku Ruben dan suku Gad, mulai dari kota Aroer di lembah sungai Arnon, dan setengah dari perbukitan Gilead beserta kota-kotanya.
13 The other part of the Gilead [region] and all of the Bashan [region], which was the Argob [region] that King Og had ruled, I allotted to half of the tribe of Manasseh.” (The entire Bashan [region] is called the land of the Repha giants.)
Seluruh wilayah Argob, yaitu sisa daerah Gilead, dan seluruh daerah Basan bekas kerajaan Og, saya berikan kepada separuh suku Manasye. (Negeri Basan dikenal sebagai negeri orang Refaim.)
14 “Jair, from the tribe of Manasseh, conquered all the Bashan area as far [north] as the border of the Geshur and Maacah territories. He gave his own name to the villages there, and they are still called the villages of Jair.
Seluruh wilayah Argob (yang juga disebut Basan) diambil oleh Yair dari suku Manasye, sampai perbatasan dengan wilayah orang Gesur dan orang Maaka. Lalu dia menamai wilayah itu Yair, seperti namanya sendiri, sehingga sampai hari penulisan kitab ini, seluruh wilayah Argob dikenal sebagai kota-kota Yair.
15 The [northern part of the] Gilead [region] I allotted to the Machir [clan, who are descendants of the tribe of Manasseh].
“Selanjutnya, saya menyerahkan daerah bagian utara wilayah Gilead kepada keluarga Makir dari suku Manasye.
16 I allotted to the tribes of Reuben and Gad the southern part of the Gilead [region, extending south] to the Arnon [River]. The middle of the river is the [southern] boundary. The [northern] boundary is the Jabbok River, which is part of the border of the Ammon area.
Saya juga memberikan sebagian wilayah Gilead kepada suku Ruben dan Gad. Wilayah itu membentang dari bagian tengah sungai Arnon di sebelah selatan, dan ke utara sampai ke sungai Yabok, yang berbatasan dengan daerah orang Amon.
17 [To the west their territory extended] to the Jordan [River] Valley, from Galilee Lake [in the north] to the Dead Sea [in the south] and to the slopes of Pisgah [Mountain] to the east.
Wilayah ini dibatasi oleh sungai Yordan di sebelah barat, danau Galilea di sebelah utara, Laut Mati di sebelah selatan, dan kaki gunung Pisga di sebelah timur.
18 At that time, I told you three tribes, ‘Yahweh our God is giving you this land [east of the Jordan River], for you to occupy/capture. So now, give your soldiers weapons, and send them [across the Jordan River] ahead of the men from the other Israeli tribes [to help them to conquer/capture the land that has been allotted to them].
“Pada waktu itu, saya berkata kepada suku Ruben, Gad, dan separuh suku Manasye, ‘TUHAN Allah kita sudah memberikan wilayah ini kepada kalian, tetapi kalian juga harus berperang untuk saudara-saudaramu. Pasukan kalian harus menyeberangi sungai Yordan mendahului suku-suku Israel yang lain.
19 But your wives and children and your very numerous cattle must stay in the towns that I have allotted to you.
Hanya istri-istrimu, anak-anakmu, dan ternakmu yang banyak itulah yang boleh tinggal di kota-kota yang sudah saya serahkan kepada kalian.
20 [Your men must help your fellow Israelis] until Yahweh enables them to live there peacefully after they capture all the land that Yahweh our God is giving to them on the west side of the Jordan [River], just like he did for you [here on the east side of the river]. After that, you all may return to this land that I have allotted to you.’
Pasukan kalian harus berjuang sampai TUHAN memberikan kelegaan dari perang kepada saudara-saudaramu, seperti yang sudah Dia berikan kepada kalian. Setelah mereka menduduki negeri di seberang sungai Yordan yang sebentar lagi TUHAN serahkan kepada mereka, barulah kalian boleh kembali ke tanah kalian masing-masing yang sudah saya bagikan.’
21 And I told Joshua, ‘You [SYN] have seen everything that Yahweh our God did to those two kings, [Sihon and Og]. He will do the same thing to the people [who are now] in the land that you will be entering.
“Saat itu, saya juga memberikan perintah ini kepada Yosua, ‘Kamu sudah melihat sendiri apa yang dilakukan TUHAN Allah kita terhadap Raja Sihon dan Og. TUHAN akan melakukan hal yang sama terhadap semua kerajaan di sebelah barat sungai Yordan. Kamu akan memimpin umat Israel masuk ke sana.’
22 Do not be afraid of those people, because Yahweh our God is the one who will fight for you all.’”
Jadi, saya katakan kepada kalian: Jangan takut kepada mereka, karena TUHANlah yang akan berperang bagi kalian.”
23 “At that time, I earnestly prayed, saying
Musa melanjutkan kisahnya, “Waktu itu saya sungguh-sungguh memohon kepada TUHAN,
24 ‘Yahweh our Lord, you have merely begun to show me that you are very great and to show me the powerful things that you can do [MTY]. There is certainly no [RHQ] god in heaven or on earth who can do the powerful things/deeds that you [have done].
‘Ya TUHAN Allah, aku tahu bahwa perbuatan-perbuatan-Mu yang hebat dan penuh kuasa yang Engkau tunjukkan kepada hamba-Mu ini barulah permulaan! Tidak ada penguasa lain di surga atau di bumi yang dapat melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan hebat seperti yang Engkau lakukan!
25 So please allow me to cross the Jordan [River] and to see the good/fertile land on the west side, the beautiful hilly area and [the mountains in] Lebanon.’
Mohon izinkanlah aku menyeberangi sungai Yordan agar aku bisa melihat negeri yang indah di sebelah sungai Yordan, dan daerah perbukitan yang indah itu, serta gunung-gunung di Libanon.’
26 But Yahweh was angry with me because of [what] your ancestors [had made me do], so he would not pay attention to me. Instead, he said, ‘That is enough [talk from you]! Do not talk to me about that again!
Tetapi karena kalian pernah menggerutu dan memberontak, TUHAN marah kepada saya dan berkata, ‘Cukup! Jangan lagi berkata kepada-Ku tentang hal ini.
27 Climb up to the top of Pisgah [Mountain] and look toward the west and to the east, toward the north and to the south. Look at [MTY] it all carefully, because you will not cross the Jordan [River to see the land from there].
Kamu tidak boleh menyeberangi sungai Yordan, tetapi kamu boleh melihat negeri itu dari jauh. Naiklah ke puncak gunung Pisga dan pandanglah ke arah barat, utara, selatan, dan timur untuk melihatnya.
28 But tell Joshua what he must do and encourage him to be strong, because he is the one who will lead the people [across the river in order that they can] occupy/capture the land that you will see [from the top of the mountain].’
Tahbiskanlah Yosua sebagai penggantimu. Kuatkanlah dia agar berani dan teguh untuk memimpin bangsa ini, karena dialah yang akan memimpin mereka menyeberangi sungai Yordan. Dia juga akan membagi-bagikan negeri itu, yang akan kamu pandang dari puncak gunung, sebagai milik mereka secara turun-temurun.’
29 So we remained in the [Jordan River] Valley close to Beth-Peor [town].”
Peristiwa itu terjadi pada waktu kita tinggal di Lembah sungai Yordan di seberang kota Bet Peor.”
