Deuteronomy 27
1 Moses/I, along with the other Israeli leaders, said this to the people: “Obey all the commandments that I am giving to you today.
Or Mosè e gli anziani d’Israele dettero quest’ordine al popolo: “Osservate tutti i comandamenti che oggi vi do.
2 [Soon] you will cross the Jordan [River] and enter the land that Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], promised to give to you. There, in that very fertile [IDM] land on the [west] side of the Jordan [River], set up some large stones [on Ebal Mountain], and cover them with plaster. Then write on those stones all these laws and teachings/instructions.
E quando avrete passato il Giordano per entrare nel paese che l’Eterno, l’Iddio vostro, vi dà, rizzerai delle grandi pietre, e le intonacherai di calcina.
Poi vi scriverai sopra tutte le parole di questa legge, quand’avrai passato il Giordano per entrare nel paese che l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti dà: paese ove scorre il latte e il miele, come l’Eterno, l’Iddio de’ tuoi padri, ti ha detto.
Quando dunque avrete passato il Giordano, rizzerete sul monte Ebal queste pietre, come oggi vi comando, e le intonacherete di calcina.
5 And build a stone altar there to offer sacrifices to Yahweh, but do not cut those stones with iron tools.
Quivi edificherai pure un altare all’Eterno, ch’è il tuo Dio: un altare di pietre, sulle quali non passerai ferro.
6 The altar that you make to burn sacrifices to Yahweh our God must be made with uncut stones.
Edificherai l’altare dell’Eterno, del tuo Dio, di pietre intatte, e su d’esso offrirai degli olocausti all’Eterno, al tuo Dio.
7 And there you must sacrifice offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh, and you must eat [your share of those offerings] and rejoice/celebrate in the presence of Yahweh.
E offrirai de’ sacrifizi di azioni di grazie, e quivi mangerai e ti rallegrerai dinanzi all’Eterno, al tuo Dio.
8 And, when you write these laws on those stones, you must write them very clearly.”
E scriverai su quelle pietre tutte le parole di questa legge, in modo che siano nitidamente scolpite”.
9 Then Moses/I, along with the priests, said to all the Israeli people, “You Israeli people, be quiet and listen [to what I am saying]. Today you have become the people who belong to Yahweh, our God.
E Mosè e i sacerdoti levitici parlarono a tutto Israele, dicendo: “Fa’ silenzio e ascolta, o Israele! Oggi sei divenuto il popolo dell’Eterno, del tuo Dio.
10 So, you must do what he tells you, and obey all the rules and regulations that I am giving to you today.”
Ubbidirai quindi alla voce dell’Eterno, del tuo Dio, e metterai in pratica i suoi comandamenti e le sue leggi che oggi ti do”.
11 On that same day Moses/I said to the Israeli people,
In quello stesso giorno Mosè diede pure quest’ordine al popolo:
12 “After you have crossed over the Jordan [River], the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Gerizim Mountain and [request Yahweh to] bless the people.
“Quando avrete passato il Giordano, ecco quelli che staranno sul monte Gherizim per benedire il popolo: Simeone, Levi, Giuda, Issacar, Giuseppe e Beniamino;
13 And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Ebal Mountain and listen to the things that Yahweh will do when he curses the people.
ed ecco quelli che staranno sul monte Ebal, per pronunziare la maledizione: Ruben, Gad, Ascer, Zabulon, Dan e Neftali.
14 The descendants of Levi must shout these words loudly:
I Leviti parleranno e diranno ad alta voce a tutti gli uomini d’Israele:
15 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who makes an idol of stone, or of wood, or of metal, and secretly sets it up [and worships it]. Yahweh considers that those things, made by humans [SYN], are detestable/disgusting.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto l’uomo che fa un’immagine scolpita o di getto, cosa abominevole per l’Eterno, opera di mano d’artefice, e la pone in luogo occulto! E tutto il popolo risponderà e dirà: Amen.
16 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi sprezza suo padre o sua madre! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
17 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who removes someone else’s markers of property boundaries.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi sposta i termini del suo prossimo! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
18 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who leads a blind person to go (in the wrong direction/where that person does not want to go).’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi fa smarrire al cieco il suo cammino! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
19 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who deprives foreigners or orphans or widows of the things that the laws state must be done for them.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi conculca il diritto dello straniero, dell’orfano e della vedova! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
20 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who (shows no respect for/disgraces his father) by having sex with [EUP] any of his father’s wives.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi giace con la moglie di suo padre, perché ha sollevato il lembo della coperta di suo padre! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
21 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex [EUP] with any animal.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi giace con qualsivoglia bestia! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
22 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with his sister or with his half-sister.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi giace con la propria sorella, figliuola di suo padre o figliuola di sua madre! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
23 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with [EUP] his mother-in-law.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi giace con la sua suocera! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
24 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who secretly murders someone else.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi uccide il suo prossimo in occulto! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
25 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who accepts a bribe to murder someone who (is innocent/has not done something that is wrong.)’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Maledetto chi accetta un donativo per condannare a morte un innocente! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
26 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who disobeys these laws and refuses to declare that these laws [are good].’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’”
Maledetto chi non si attiene alle parole di questa legge, per metterle in pratica! E tutto il popolo dirà: Amen.
