Deuteronomy 27
1 Moses/I, along with the other Israeli leaders, said this to the people: “Obey all the commandments that I am giving to you today.
Moïse, avec les anciens d’Israël, exhorta le peuple en ces termes: "Observez toute la loi que je vous impose en ce jour.
2 [Soon] you will cross the Jordan [River] and enter the land that Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], promised to give to you. There, in that very fertile [IDM] land on the [west] side of the Jordan [River], set up some large stones [on Ebal Mountain], and cover them with plaster. Then write on those stones all these laws and teachings/instructions.
Et quand vous serez arrivés au delà du Jourdain, dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’accorde, tu érigeras pour toi de grandes pierres, que tu enduiras de chaux;
et tu y écriras toutes les paroles de cette doctrine dès que tu auras passé, pour mériter d’entrer dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te destine, pays ruisselant de lait et de miel, comme te l’a promis le Seigneur, le Dieu de tes pères.
Donc, après avoir passé le Jourdain, vous érigerez ces pierres, comme je vous l’ordonne aujourd’hui, sur le mont Hébal, et tu les enduiras de chaux.
5 And build a stone altar there to offer sacrifices to Yahweh, but do not cut those stones with iron tools.
Tu bâtiras au même endroit un autel destiné à l’Éternel, ton Dieu, un autel fait de pierres que le fer n’aura point touchées.
6 The altar that you make to burn sacrifices to Yahweh our God must be made with uncut stones.
C’Est en pierres intactes que tu bâtiras l’autel de l’Éternel, ton Dieu: là tu offriras des holocaustes en son honneur;
7 And there you must sacrifice offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh, and you must eat [your share of those offerings] and rejoice/celebrate in the presence of Yahweh.
tu y feras des sacrifices rémunératoires et tu les y consommeras, et tu te réjouiras en présence de l’Éternel, ton Dieu.
8 And, when you write these laws on those stones, you must write them very clearly.”
Et tu écriras sur les pierres tout le contenu de cette doctrine, très distinctement."
9 Then Moses/I, along with the priests, said to all the Israeli people, “You Israeli people, be quiet and listen [to what I am saying]. Today you have become the people who belong to Yahweh, our God.
Moïse, assisté des pontifes descendants de Lévi, parla ainsi à tout Israël: "Fais silence et écoute, ô Israël! En ce jour, tu es devenu le peuple de l’Éternel, ton Dieu.
10 So, you must do what he tells you, and obey all the rules and regulations that I am giving to you today.”
Tu obéiras donc à la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu exécuteras ses préceptes et ses lois, que je t’impose aujourd’hui."
11 On that same day Moses/I said to the Israeli people,
Et Moïse donna au peuple, ce même jour, l’ordre suivant:
12 “After you have crossed over the Jordan [River], the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Gerizim Mountain and [request Yahweh to] bless the people.
"Voici quelles tribus prendront position sur le mont Garizim, pour la bénédiction à donner au peuple, quand vous aurez passé le Jourdain: Siméon, Lévi et Juda; Issachar, Joseph et Benjamin.
13 And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Ebal Mountain and listen to the things that Yahweh will do when he curses the people.
Et les suivantes se placeront, pour la malédiction, sur le mont Hébal: Ruben, Gad et Asher; Zabulon, Dan et Nephtali.
14 The descendants of Levi must shout these words loudly:
Les Lévites prendront la parole et diront à haute voix, s’adressant à tout homme en Israël:
15 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who makes an idol of stone, or of wood, or of metal, and secretly sets it up [and worships it]. Yahweh considers that those things, made by humans [SYN], are detestable/disgusting.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit soit l’homme qui ferait une image taillée ou jetée en fonte, objet d’abomination pour l’Éternel, ouvrage de l’art humain, et qui l’érigerait en un lieu secret!" Sur quoi le peuple entier répondra: Amen!
16 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit soit qui traite avec mépris son père ou sa mère!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
17 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who removes someone else’s markers of property boundaries.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, celui qui déplace la borne de son voisin!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
18 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who leads a blind person to go (in the wrong direction/where that person does not want to go).’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, celui qui égare l’aveugle en son chemin!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
19 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who deprives foreigners or orphans or widows of the things that the laws state must be done for them.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, celui qui fausse le droit de l’étranger, de l’orphelin ou de la veuve!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
20 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who (shows no respect for/disgraces his father) by having sex with [EUP] any of his father’s wives.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, celui qui a commerce avec la femme de son père, découvrant ainsi la couche paternelle!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
21 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex [EUP] with any animal.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, qui s’accouple avec quelque animal!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
22 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with his sister or with his half-sister.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, qui cohabite avec sa sœur, fille de son père ou fille de sa mère!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
23 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with [EUP] his mother-in-law.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, qui cohabite avec sa belle-mère!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
24 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who secretly murders someone else.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, qui frappe son prochain dans l’ombre!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
25 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who accepts a bribe to murder someone who (is innocent/has not done something that is wrong.)’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
"Maudit, qui se laisse corrompre pour immoler une vie innocente!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
26 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who disobeys these laws and refuses to declare that these laws [are good].’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’”
"Maudit soit quiconque ne respecterait point les paroles de la présente doctrine et négligerait de les mettre en pratique!" Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
